Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapter 139]

In her bed, Mei looks at the sheep keychain that Kento gave her. She thinks that it is the first birthday gift she received from him. She angrily wonders why he would give it to her now when he obviously always never gives her a gift. But then, she also doesn’t give him anything either. When they were in elementary, Kento obviously said that how can he talk with that ugly girl. But during junior high, he confessed that he likes her. And some time before, he told her that he absolutely do not want her to suddenly marry that kind of person..and he had kissed her while they are on the rescue mission from Shinnosuke’s attack of the school. While recuperating at the hospital, Kento had told her that it truly hurts too much and he couldn’t repress[/endure] it. Mei thinks, “..it isn’t so, Shibata.. Shibata, he.. isn’t the same as [my] other friends.. Shibata, he.. Shibata, he is my.. what?” Then, the bedroom door opens. Someone goes in and finds Mei fast asleep. The man quietly strokes her hair from her face. Then, he quietly leaves the room. The next day, Mei bids her grandfather goodbye for she is heading back to school today. Shibata parents greet her to be careful on her way. Kintarou tells Mei that she should be aware of this early on, that he won’t make her inherit the Hongo family estate. Shibata parents are surprised and Rihito just looks at Kintarou. Kintarou says that it is because she broke the agreement of ‘bring your husband[/my son-in-law] on your birthday’ and she should have no objections to that. Mei says, yes, and before she had that kind of thinking, the Hongo family’s properties and companies are all single-handedly brought about by Kintarou. Even if she is his granddaughter, she definitely cannot perfectly handle all of these. “So, I will use my own hands to create and building something.” Kintarou says that’s good, she answered well but then, just by herself, she’s quite unreliable that he fears this prolonged life would be shorten. Mei is shock to hear that. Rihito politely apologizes for bluntly saying it but even if Kintarou would unluckily demise, aside from the Shibata clan, the personnel of the Hongo controlled financial corporations should follow Mei-ojousama. Mei is moved by what he said. Kintarou says that is right. Taizou asks his wife where Kento is. Maria angrily mutters that idiot would dare be late on the day when Mei is going to depart.

Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapter 138]

The brothers watching over Mei eating cake when they were interrupted by Maria who told them that Mei is going to have a comprehensive health check-up THE WHOLE DAY today. Mei protests that she doesn’t feel bad anywhere. Maria tells her that if she did, it would be too late. “I have received reports saying that these past days, a lot of things had happened. So, even if you say that you don’t feel anything [bad], there is also a possibility of an ailment. Kento agrees and tells Mei to go. Mei hesitates because it seems to be scary. Rihito assures his mother that there is no problem, because Mei has always been with him.. They were surprised when Maria hugs Mei tight and sternly tells them, “NO. During the time when Mei-ojousama is in the Hongo residence, I will PERSONALLY take care of Mei-ojousama so the two of you are on a vacation.” Maria left with Mei. Kento says that their mother is always like that, unexpectedly dismissing them. He is surprised when Rihito turned around and starts walking away. He asks him where he is going. Rihito tells him that he is going to the library to study. “Are you coming, too?” Kento sweatdrops and declines. Sracthing his head, Kento thinks that he got nothing to do and he also doesn’t have his own room in this place because he was adopted [by the duke]. Then, he overhears a couple of maids lamenting that Mei’s birthday didn’t push through in the end but they gave her gifts so she should be quite happy about it. Kento is surprised and thinks about giving Mei a gift. He recalls.. Flashback: Holding a pair of shoes, Mei told Kento that it is Rihito’s gift for her♡  Kento asked if she can wear it with those big feet of hers. Mei promptly hit him on the head. End flashback. He thinks that of course it is good if one prepares the gift on the day itself. “Ah~~ I’m already out of touch with everyone!!?” At Shibuya, Kento in casual clothes thinks that he came without preparing. He walks around the shops and wonders what Mei would like. “In the end, it has to be better than THAT of Rihito..” He imagines: Mei happily holding a small gift box and saying, “Huh? This is for me..? Thank you, Shibata.. *going to kiss Kento* Like you..” End imagination. Kento freaks out, “Stu..stupid!! Isn’t that almost like that oil prince’s way of thinking!! That isn’t what I want!!! *calms down* So-called birthday gift ought to be.. Now that I think of it, I.. Until now, I never gave Mei a birthday gift.. Even if every year, I thought of, ‘today, I’ll definitely give..’ Grandpa also the others would definitely give her gifts so I also felt that it doesn’t matter. But actually, I’m more bothered with.. Flashback: Kids are teasing young Kento that he actually likes Shinonome. End flashback. ..being assailed by others like that.”

Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapters 136-137]

Someone pops a party popper. Mei’s friends greet her a happy birthday even if it is late for a day. Mei happily thanks everyone. As everyone are eating and drinking, Rika tries to call out to them that they must return to the classroom within 8 hours. Izumi says that there is always a way to resolve that. Rika[?] complains that they are all so carefree without worries for what will happen to Mei and the others afterwards. At what seems to be either a lounge or the dining hall, Xiang asks Mei’s butler why they’ve lied for actually, Mei’s birthday has not yet ended. “And, isn’t Mei’s birthday is on May 10th.. THAT IS TODAY.” Kento asks, “And then?” Surprised by that, Xiang is saying that no, he is saying.. Rihito says that as a butler, one must operate[/manipulate] the ojousama’s time smoothly and thankfully, some people is willing to ‘open one eye and close the other’ about this. The people who knew the truth are Izumi, Fujiko and Nezu, and Kanzaki. Xiang protests that if that is so, then the deal with Kintarou-sama.. Kento asks him if he also saw that expression of Mei.. There is a scene of Mei looking surprised then she happily smiles to say, “Is that so- It is already over. Then, it can’t be helped♡”Kento tells him that smile is everything. And, because of their wishful thinking, and forcing Mei into a dead end, this matter that needs to be settled will stop at this point [/let’s call it a day]. After a pause, Xiang blushes a bit and says that is right. Rihito smiles and says that they are now going to PROPERLY give Mei their B•D•P [birthday present] to her. They gave her a sleeping potion that made her sleep for a whole day. Afterwards, they ARRIVE at the Hongo’s mansion in Japan ON THE REAL May 11th. The brothers’ parents, together with maids, welcome Mei. Mei worriedly asks about her grandfather. Taizou leads Mei away to Kintarou’s room. The brothers are startled when their mother calls out to them. She smiles at them and tells them ‘good work’, and they can go rest for today. The brothers sweatdrop and wonder if that is a lie for how could she be so nice. While walking to Kintarou’s room with Taizou, Mei is thinking that her grandfather is definitely angry since he took the pains to choose the candidates for her husband[/his son-in-law] in order for her not to be alone. Mei asks Taizou how is her grandfather’s health condition. Just when Taizou is about to tell her, someone says that he can live on for 5 more years. Mei exclaims, “Doc..doctor Damien..!? How come you are here?” Damien is with Michael. A note says that easy-going Damien has been assigned to become the school doctor. Damien tells her, but the devil can only extend help once. Putting his glasses on, Damien says that there will be no second time.

Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapters 133-135]

[Free Talk: Sugar*Soldier summary will be out next week. I won’t be waiting for the other scanlation anymore. =P Then, if the other series in Chinese scanlations are not yet out, I’ll work on the last chapter of Chitose, Etc to put a closure to that series. Since last May, the missing chapters were never updated. ^^; By the way, the Chinese scanlations might be a bit delayed, well, in the case of allwink because some of their staff are said to be having exams. So, if these are all done and nothing is out yet, I’m going to have a little break, too. ^^ Hehe, catching up with some anime and manga, among other things. Well, have a great weekend, everyone ^^]

Narration: “After all the heaps of disappointments and unfair treatment that I have suffered, *young Xiang seems to be beaten up by someone* but my heart had earlier died together with Rishu. So, no matter what else I’ll encounter..it is alright.” Flashback: Young Fei went to bruised Xiang who is lying on the floor. Fei asked him why he would do things up to this extent. Xiang somewhat sat up and just smiled. While looking at flustered Fei, Xiang thought, “We must keep on living in this world. First reason, in order to re-establish the village, we will search for the next generation goddess. I’ll leave it up to you, Fei. If it is you, you’ll definitely be able to accomplish it because you are an existence who has the same holy blood as Rishu.. Afterwards, the other reason is.. to make the one who made this filthy dream pay. I will kill with my own hands the one who slaughtered Rishu!!” End flashback. Xiang shouts to Rihito that this is revenge. Holding his knife to attack Rihito, Xiang shouts that what business is it to Rihito regarding his [Xiang] and someone’s life or death. “The ones who hinders also has the same crime as that person..!!” Rihito looks at Xiang’s crazed eyes that he muses that that is a good expression. Xiang tries to cut him but Rihito easily dodges. Rihito says that passion, determination and madness can be considered to be out of the ordinary. “So that’s how it is, no wonder some devil wanted to get you.” Xiang shouts for him to shut up. Xiang tries to cut Rihito again and before he knew it, Rihito is already behind him. Rihito says that they are jackals of the same tribe [/all just as bad as each other] and while searching for the radiance which is impossible to attain..had become vexed and distracted. Xiang angrily shouts for him not to discuss him [Xiang] and them on equal terms. Rihito swiftly moves behind him and hits Xiang’s back. This made Xiang drop his knife. After Xiang falls down, Rihito grabs his collar and asks why it is different. “Didn’t you already say that you are ‘filthy’? Yes, I’m the same with you. We are both filthy. Don’t belittle us, ‘butlers’. The only difference with ‘shinigami/death gods’ is we haven’t killed someone. Only that, STILL HAVE NOT.. killed someone.”

At the kingdom of Arabia, Irrfan is listening to Zaki’s report on water still being an expensive natural resource compared to petroleum. A couple of men are talking about how Irrfan had changed completely into a different person upon arriving back from the desert. Before he was a ‘what the’ type of person, but right now, he would discuss everyday with his butlers about all sorts of things. Yesterday, they were talking about the commoner’s living conditions and today, it is about the problem regarding water. They say that if Irrfan inherits the throne, their lives might gradually improve. The king has heard them. And, that night, the king was thinking over things. Later on, he called for Irrfan to his throne room to inform him that it is time to pass the throne to him. Irrfan’s butlers are delighted over this news. Irrfan says that he is not good enough to inherit the throne yet because there are still a lot of things that he has to study. From his point of view, he still doesn’t have the right to become king. The king says that he is hoping that Irrfan won’t lose this enthusiasm upon ascending to the throne. Irrfan is still hesitant. The king tells him that someone who possesses the right and yet, he didn’t take the initiative to get it. That isn’t ‘modesty’, but rather, it is cowardice. After hearing that, Irrfan says that since he put it that way, he cannot pretend that he didn’t hear that. On the day of the coronation, Irrfan is shock that Rika isn’t coming. Zin says that they have already contacted her many times and it seems that she is preparing for something else that is more important. Irrfan angrily shouts what could be more important than his coronation day. The butlers think that it is cultural festival but then, they couldn’t tell Irrfan about it. Irrfan forgets it and excitedly asks what about Mei coming. They say that she isn’t because they couldn’t contact Mei’s butler. They also contacted the Hongo family but they were only told that everything about Mei has been left in the hands of the professional butler. They try to tell Irrfan to calm down but Irrfan has already started cursing Rihito for trying to break him and Mei up. The butlers wonder what break up, when it is just a one-sided thing. While Irrfan is shouting threats and wanting to go to Japan, the butlers tell them it is almost time for the coronation and he can do that after the ceremony. While Irrfan continues to shout and the two saying ya, ya, the two drags him away. ^^;

Looking at a map, Kento exclaims in frustration since they can’t find Xiang’s whereabouts at airports or harbors. There is no clue at all on where he could have hidden. Nezu asks about the possibility that they are traveling by land. Kanzaki says that they’ve already searched through roads and they got nothing. While Tami is sleeping, Fujiko and Fei are quiet. Looking at her cellphone, Fujiko says that with the other housewives, she wants to help everyone. Fei timidly offers if there is anything he can do to help. Hugging and kissing him, Fujiko thanks him. Fei suggests that she tries to search using a key word, something important that is related to this. Fujiko decides to check out, ‘handsome butler’. Fujiko reads that someone posted that ‘there is actually a so-called butler’. Showing her phone to Fei, Fujiko asks if this is.. Fei exclaims, “Xiang!?” The brothers look at the phone to see a picture of Xiang being surrounded by women [most likely housewives =P]. Kento exclaims in disbelief over the comment that ‘a butler unexpectedly appeared in school and he is quite handsome’. Someone praises Fujiko for her good work. Fujiko wants to share with Fei the credit because he helped her. Fei says that he didn’t do much. Fujiko wants to reward him. Rihito looks serious as he enlarges the picture to some figures at the side. It is Mei happily talking with Kanata and Nana. Kento is surprise that Mei is with those two so he decides to call Kanata. Rihito decides to call their grandfather who is living nearby. The calls of the brothers can’t get through. They look at each other and wonder what’s going on. Meanwhile, Mei wakes up from someone calling out to her about it being a good day. Opening her eyes, she wonders if it is Rihito but it turns out to be Xiang whose face is right in front of hers. After screaming loudly and moving away from Xiang, Xiang slightly smiles and apologizes because he tried calling her so many times but she won’t wake up. Mei notices that Xiang looks better now. Xiang tells her that he has already prepared her clothes. Mei remembers that Xiang is also a butler. Hideto arrives and tells them to come and eat breakfast. At the table, Mei is surprised to see a full Japanese breakfast meal. Preparing to eat, Mei happily says that it has been a long time since she eaten udon noodes. She praises it being delicious and no wonder it is made by Hideto.

Looking at a gadget, the Shibata brothers are estimating the scope of area where the helicopter could have gone to, based on the amount of fuel left in it. Kento’s gut feel is that Xiang plans to go back to his homeland. Rihito wants to check first on all the national airports. Nezu calls out to the brothers and says that it seems that they have forgotten the most important part. Kento says that is right, they haven’t reported back yet that they are still alive. Rihito wants Kento to do it but Kento doesn’t want to. Kento says that he is the older brother and Rihito says that is the job of an underling. Rihito accuses Kento of being afraid that he’ll be scolded by their mother. Kento retorts back that Rihito is the one who’s afraid. So, they decide to do a jankenpon on it. Kento lost and is forced to call their parents. Taizou answers it and he is glad that his sons are fine but to Kento’s dismay, their father passes the phone to their mother. After exclaiming Kento’s name, Maria is relieved that her sons are okay. Kento is happy about this and apologizes for making her worried. Then, Maria asks about Mei. Kento stutters and says, “Ah..actually..” Maria’s vein popped and she shouts, “You two fools! Why don’t you guys commit seppuku [/disembowelment]!!” Kento is already holding the phone faraway from his ear that even Rihito heard it. Taizou tries to pacify his wife that is enough for after all, their sons are okay. While flying the helicopter, Xiang remembers Mei’s orders for them to fly to Shikoku. He wonders why they are going there and if he remembers it right, the grandfather of the Shibata’s brothers is living there, so could this be a trap. Then, looking at sleeping Mei who is dreaming of food, Xiang thinks that it is impossible. He wonders what with this carefree mood that she won’t even keep watch to see if he really goes to Shikoku. Remembering Mei telling him not to easily say ‘go die’ and ‘I’ll kill you’, Xiang thinks that it is really like what Rishu would say. Mei wakes up and asks if they are almost there. Xiang says yes. A note says that no matter what he says and thinks, he still went to Shihoku. ^^; Looking out the window, Mei excitedly tells him that this is quite nostalgic and he should land at the field behind her old home. Then, Xiang notices something. He apologizes to Mei and tells her that there is something wrong with the helicopter so he is now going to make an emergency landing so she better hold on tight.

A couple of reporters landed on the island. The younger man tells his senpai to forget about it but the older man says that he’s annoying when he [older man] has seen a smoke there. He thinks that it is related to that mysterious explosion this morning and this is news. The younger man says that their bureau chief told them that they cannot go into an in-depth investigation on this. The man scolds him for not having the spirit of a reporter. Then, he notices a campfire that has been put out on the ground. He exclaims for the younger man to look, in the end, there is someone there. Then, the younger man says that he hears some moaning sound there. Suddenly, they were attacked from behind by Xiang. Xiang pats off his hands and tells Mei that he had made her wait. Mei is tied up and gagged. Taking off his necktie from Mei’s mouth [and untying her], Xiang apologizes for his rudeness and the plane is now prepared. Mei exclaims what he is planning to do. Xiang carries her and says that if she won’t be a bit sincere, he’ll kill those two guys on the ground. Seeing Mei staring at him, Xiang asks what it is. Mei says that he can easily say things like killing people, and today is the second time. Xiang says that for him, it is very easy and that is how he had managed to live on. Mei looks thoughtful. After Xiang puts her in the reporters’ chopper, Mei asks him what he plans to do next. Xiang says that he is going to make her his. Mei says that it is loathsome that someone else decides on that. Xiang smiles and says that she also has no way of deciding. [<- I think Xiang is referring to Mei’s indecision regarding the Shibata brothers] Mei tries to protest about this, [is different from] that. Xiang says that if, no matter what, she cannot become his.. Mei is surprised when Xiang takes out a fan[/butterfly] knife. Mei dares him if he can do it, then there’s no harm in trying. To her surprise, Xiang points the knife to his throat. Mei shouts for him to stop. Xiang tells her that if he loses her, there is no longer any significance for him to still exist in this world. Mei tells him to stop pulling this really nasty joke. Xiang lightly moves the knife on his throat and it starts to bleed. He tells her that for him, this is very easy. Mei quickly holds down his hand with the knife and shouts for him to stop. She tells him that he is quite cunning. Thinking that she couldn’t refuse, Mei keeps telling him that he is too cunning and despicable. Xiang says that even so, if he can at least get her, he’ll willingly accept whatever filthy names she gives him. Somewhat flustered, Mei asks him why he is like that (so casual).

Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapter 118]

Flashback: Xiang stood amidst of fire and smoke. He thinks, “..that, fundamentally is punishment. Within my heart, the desire to ‘monopolize’. Making the goddess, mother planet, to get angry.. So.. *scene of Rishu dead* but, this time, it isn’t.. *looks seriously at Mei who is shielding herself from the explosion. He took off his coat and put it over Mei.* This time, definitely.. I’ll absolutely protect her well..” While Xiang pulled Mei to him to protect her, Mei is surprised when he muttered, ‘Rishu..’ Mei wondered who that is. The ship exploded and the two fell into the water. While sinking in the water, Mei remembered a lecture before. Flashback 2: A nun told Mei and others that the butler’s clothes aren’t ordinary ones, rather, it is a high precision defensive cloth. It can withstand any attacks. Whether the scorching hot fire, or extremely cold water, it can still protect the body very well. So, by just wearing it, one will be completely safe. Miruku exclaimed then they should all wear it. Rika doesn’t want to wear that bad/crude kind of clothes. Fujiko wanted people to see more of her skin. Izumi told Miruku that it would be a bit heavy for her. Miruku sighed that it is quite cunning that only butlers have that kind of clothes. Mei told her that is enough, for butlers have a lot of problems to deal with. Later on, Rihito told Mei that the clothes’ real use isn’t to protect the butler. For at the crucial moment, it is to protect the very important ojousama. Or, one should say that it is their very important doppelganger/replacement. Rihito put his coat on Mei and said that it is like this, and one won’t do this kind of thing to anyone. “It is not limited that, one can even sacrifice oneself, to protect that person.” End flashback 2.

Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapter 117]

Narration: “In this huge living mother planet, the world’s happiness has been entrusted to a chosen maiden. And as the star’s embodiment, the maiden becomes a goddess--” Four years ago: In an open valley where there is a lone tree, Xiang asks Fei if he feels that it is quite idiotic that at this time and age, to still believe in that superstition of their parents. Fei says that it doesn’t suit him to say that since he is the son of the village head. Narration: “Xiang and the other kids aren’t the same because he is very intelligent. The things that he always say would give the adults a headache.” Xiang answers that it is very strange [to believe] that in this information age, and this is why the village is poor because they treat people as fools. “Speaking of that, the current goddess is now some 80 year old grandma..” Then, water is splashed on him. Above the tree, there is a young girl holing a water gun. She says that is heaven’s punishment for even if it is Xiang, he cannot say bad things about the goddess. Fei apologizes to Xiang for his younger sister’s rudeness. Fei shouts at Rishu* to quickly apologize. [*invented name from リシュ; in Chinese it is 由 which is different.] Xiang says that it is alright for anyway, it is hot. Fei asks him why he is spoiling Rishu. Xiang asks if he is spoiling her. Fei exclaims that he is. Using a towel on Xiang, Rishu happily says that she’ll wipe him dry. Xiang thanks her. Rishu tells him that goddess is dreaming of ‘everyone living in happiness’ everyday so they were able to become healthy as they pass their days. “That is what grandma told me.” Looking a bit sad, Xiang asks if this world is really happy. “In this world, there is war, disasters, crimes, sickness.. there are a lot of people suffering.. Would just becoming this kind of dream goddess, will the world really become happy..”

Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapter 116]

At Hongo residence, Taizou, together with Maria, reports to bed-ridden Kintarou that the ship that Mei-ojousama is riding on has exploded for some unknown reason, and the damage is quite severe. Right now, the whereabouts of Mei-ojousama, together with Xiang, Fei, Rihito and Kento, are all unknown. Maria apologizes to Kintarou for they are obviously her children, and they were there together with Mei-ojousama. Kintarou tells her that it is okay, and she shouldn’t think too much at this time, but rather, she should be more worried about the safety of her own children, and that is what a so-called mother is. After a pause, Maria says no, this is something unforgiveable for the lineage of the Shibata family. Kintarou comments that it is such a painful lineage. He asks Taizou how this is reported to the media. Taizou says that they have already limited the media reports, and in exchange, they exposed some cabinet minister’s corruption and bribery [scandal]. Kintarou says that they can only do this kind of thing, what’s left is depends on the children’s luck. At the pier, Nezu looks at his binoculars at the burning ship. Then, he tells worried Fujiko that the Hongo still haven’t found them. Then, Tami and Kanzaki surfaced from diving in the water. Tami says that it is no good, they can’t find.. Fujiko wonders out loud if Mei and others are.. Fixing his eyeglasses, Kanzaki tells her that no way, with that degree of explosion, they generally won’t die because of it. Tami exclaims that Mei ought to be alive in some place, but who knows about those other guys. Fujiko says yes, but where is that some place. Nezu says that at this time, they can only take use the killer [ancient] weapon. Fujiko and Tami wonder what that is. Nezu says that they can only ask this country’s..no, the world’s most flexible, most unrivaled intelligence organization to help them.

Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapters 112-115]

Mei is surprised to see Kento together with the other two butlers. While the three stand at the ship’s upper deck, helicopters are hovering above. Fei shouts that the ship is already surrounded. “I know that you are here. Come out, Shibata Rihito!” Hiding behind the door, Mei is irritated over their attitude towards Rihito. Rihito tries to calm her down. Then, she looks at Kento. Flashback: Kento got a phone call from Shinobu who greeted him that it has been a long time, and it is quite good that Kento seems to be quite healthy. Kento said that he was expecting him to call. Shinobu complimented Kento’s premonition to be very accurate just like before. Kento replied that Shinobu is relying on that in order for him to live up to now. [<- being a flatterer?] Shinobu laughed and said that it is good if his brother is as flexible as he [/Kento] is but then this has its own delight. Kento asked if Rihito is there. Shinobu said that he will be coming soon and Mei is already there. Kento says that he shouldn’t be planning to get rid of Mei in order to make Shiori become the heir of the Hongo family. Shinobu laughed and said that he must be joking, because for him [Shinobu], Hongo family is but a small place. “Shiori-ojousama, is more suited to a graceful stage where she can be free. Kento asked him, then why. Shinobu apologized and asked Kento to please welcome[/meet up with] them. “Because as luck would have it, I and Shiori-ojousama are planning to going on a trip.” Kento smiled and asked what he is planning. “I know that Fei and Xiang are your chess pieces. For your scheme, you are using them to your advantage...” Shinobu told him that those two aren’t his chess pieces. Kento called him a liar for he was the one who sent those two [to them]. Shinobu said that he isn’t lying for he is only giving them a little help as they chase their dream, and they are acting in accordance on their own will. Kento asked about the dream. Shinobu told him that it seems they are always searching for the world’s number 1 ojousama. Irked Kento said that isn’t Mei. Shinobu replied that no one said that it is Mei but she is staying with the Hongo family, and while staying in St. Lucia Academy, she had made friends with the world’s famous young ladies. To Kento’s surprise, Shinobu told him that Mei is the one who has the greatest hope [of being world’s number 1]. “See, didn’t things become more interesting?” Kento asked him to tell him first where he is hiding and about those two. Looking at Shinobu who is carrying sleeping Shiori, Mei wonders, “World’s no. 1 ojousama..?” Rihito just looks serious. Shinobu tells them that afterwards, he introduced the two butlers to Kintarou-sama, and they already know the rest of the story. “Kintarou-sama.. apparently also think that it is interesting.. No matter what it is, he can take pleasure in it.. I really admire that side of him.” Mei asks Shinobu why those two guys would go to her grandpa. To her surprise, Shinobu says, “It’s to enable them to see you, Mei-ojousama. *glances at seriously dark Rihito* This is comparatively interesting..right?” Mei tells him to wait for why are those two looking for the world’s number 1 ojousama. “What is their goal? And also, who they really are..!?” Shinobu smiles and replies, “This.. you should go ask them yourself. Right now, they are your butlers.” This made Mei scowl. Rihito suddenly realize something. He then asks Shinobu if the ship is.. Shinobu asks if he only notice it now. Rihito holds Mei’s hand and tells her that they should quickly leave. Surprised Mei tells him to wait. Shinobu tells her, “Then, Mei-ojousama, I hope that God will give his blessing for us to meet again.” Mei smiles and tells him that he doesn’t believe in God. Shinobu smiles and says, “Then, may Miss Lucia bless us then.” Mei smiles and says that if it is like that, then it will come true. “Goodbye, Shinobu.” Shinobu says, “Okay, and be with this Fake Butler [when we meet].” Dark Rihito tells him, “I decline.” With Shinobu still smiling, the two left the room. Two years ago: Shinobu tells Shiori that from today on, this place will be her temporary residence. Shiori ‘looks’ around and ‘sees’ the beautiful living room surrounded by roses on the pillars. She says that it is amazing and it smells of roses. Shinobu asks if she is satisfied. Shiori happily turns to Shinobu and says that she is very satisfied. Touching his chest, Shiori says that anywhere will do, as long as she can be with Rihito-san. In reality, that place is in ruins and some roses scattered on the floor. Shinobu tells her that he’ll go prepare dinner. Shiori holds his hand and tells him that there is no need. “Just leave dinner aside for a while. *putting his gloved hand on her lips* Starting..from now on..I would always..” Shinobu smiles and carries her ala princess. He says, “..then, I’ll accompany you to the bedroom.” Soon, the scene changes to Shiori’s clothes that are all over the floor. Shinobu and Shiori are sleeping in bed. Then, Shinobu wakes up as if he noticed something. After dressing up, he walks out and looks around the mansion. Standing on top of the stairs, Shinobu notices two young butlers standing downstairs. Young Xiang and Fei are smiling. Shinobu also smiles and says that he wants to thank them for what they did at the train station earlier. “Shiori-ojousama is also very thankful to you guys.” Xiang says that there’s no need [<- being polite] and they are lucky to have met such a beautiful ojousama, so it is their honor. Shinobu tells them that it is quite rude of them to come and visit at this time. [<- late at night] Xiang apologizes and says that it is because they are in a rush. “Speaking of that, did you know? I heard that train had exploded due to some unknown reason.” While walking downstairs, Shinobu says that it seems so. Xiang says that all of the passengers in the train perished except for an ojousama and her butler. Shinobu says that also includes two youngsters. Xiang smiles and says yes, and it is thanks to him.

Flashback: Kento asked Damien about what he mentioned before, regarding the White Butler. Damien seems to be clueless about it that Michael told Kento that if it is things about Damien himself, he tends to quickly forget about it. Michael said that in order to gather intelligence about things that are going on, he can eavesdropped in a larger range, within the school. A note says he can do it because he is a robot. Then, he had overheard those two butlers, Xiang and Fei talking about Mei -> ‘It is precisely like what the White Butler said.’ And, that is the report he gave to Damien. Damien seems to have forgotten about it but he still asked Kento if he can think of someone who was referred to as the ‘White Butler’. Kento said, no, he cannot think of anyone.. End flashback. Back in the room where Kento is thinking, he is standing by the window. Somewhat smiling, Kento mutters that aside for ‘him’, who else could it be.. Xiang enters and calls out to Kento about Fei’s report that Tami and Kanzaki have left the academy’s premises. Kento just says, ya. Xiang apologizes to Kento for talking too much but does Kento really plan on looking for Mei’s whereabouts. To Xiang’s surprise, Kento asks him how old he and Fei are. Xiang answers that they are 16 years old this year. Smiling Kento says that they are a year younger than he is, and yet he wasn’t able to distinguish it [from their appearance]. He asks where they were born. Xiang asks why he is suddenly interested in those kinds of things. Kento approaches him and says that surely they had already investigated everything about him, so it is unfair. This made Xiang smile and say that on the suitable time, he will naturally tell Kento about it. Kento says that is good, they should leave. Xiang asks where they are going. Kento tells him that before they rush after Tami, they should search out[?] the location. If ever Mei had encountered something, right now, she can only depend on are those guys from Lucia. In some computer monitor, Tami’s car is being monitor while it travels at some highway. While eating some chips, Tami scolds Kanzaki for being stupid because it is very obvious to use a car. “It absolutely won’t do!” Kanzaki tells Tami to relax because he did it deliberately. It’s a samurai’s consciousness [/probably gut feel]. To Tami’s surprise, Kanzaki says that perhaps Mei isn’t at the hotel anymore because just now, there is a man who appears to be Rihito, who left away with Mei. “Where could they have gone to..”

Mei is in shock to see Shinobu there. She wonders why is he there. After Mei called his name, Shinobu says that it has been a long time since someone called him by that name. Mei asks him where Rihito is and why is he pretending to be Rihito. Mei is surprised when Shinobu tells her that Rihito will come there soon. “But before that, I want to ask Mei-ojousama to come and chat with Shiori-ojousama. Please come with me..” Surprised Mei asks if Shiori is there. Shinobu says that she is, and right now, she is very healthy. “From that day on, she never even once, gotten a cold.” Mei remembers the time when Shiori wounded her eyes because no one needs her anymore. Mei exclaims how can that be possible for if Shinobu didn’t say that lie, Shiori would have not.. “Do you want to seize Shiori-ojousama that much?!” Shinobu asks, “Seizing Shiori-ojousama?” Mei angrily says that is right because didn’t he tell that to her grandfather. Shinobu tells her that it seems she is misunderstanding something. “What I have asked isn’t Shiori-ojousama herself, but rather, her life.” Mei asks what the difference is. Shinobu says that it is different. “For what I want — as a butler serving Shiori-ojousama, is ‘the right to make her happy throughout her life’.” Mei is surprised and asks why would he still..and it is because of his lie that Shiori lost her eyes. Shinobu smiles and tells her to relax. “With this, Shiori-ojousama’s eyes will no longer be polluted by this dirty world. Shiori-ojousama is currently living an incomparably happy life.” Mei angrily says that he can actually calmly say such a thing.

Mei wakes up and wonders where she is. She suddenly sits up and looks at the side of the bed. Rihito isn’t there. She rushes out and there’s no sign of Rihito in the room. Just when she is thinking if he.., Mei notices a note on the table. It is from Rihito who greeted her a good morning and apologized for not prepare her breakfast himself. He had asked the hotel to prepare her meals. “Today, there is a necessity for me to go and finish something. Before I return, please do not leave the room. Please do not worry, I will come back very quickly.” Mei remembers that before leaving the academy, Rihito told him about those two butlers having some other intention so he would want to investigate them in some other ways. Mei wonders what that intention is. “In the end.. Rihito-san is busy.. and even in a little bit, I still wasn’t able to help him..” Soon, it is night. Mei is already eating her dinner. She looks at the clock which seems to show that it is around 7 o’ clock. [<- Too dark to see clearly ^^;] She remembers Rihito telling her that he’ll come back quickly. Mei takes a bite of her food and thinks that Rihito is a liar. Then, she begins to wonder if he got into some accident/trouble. She dismisses that thought and believes that Rihito is alright. Then, she worries again if Rihito will be okay since he is only one while those butlers are two. “If Shibata is here...” Then, she becomes flustered because Kento told her that he’ll disappear from her life so goodbye. She once again thinks, “No way! I only have to tell him the reason, and Shibata will definitely help me! *takes up the phone and puts it on her ear*... ...ah? What is Shibata’s cellphone number? *falls on her knees* ..idiot..! I’m such a huge idiot! Not only Shibata’s number, I also do not know the other butler’s numbers.. how can this be..” A note says that ojousama-s don’t carry cellphones except for Miruku.

Mei is totally freaking out that she and Rihito will be staying in a double room, that so-called, double room though this feels a bit abnormal. [Double room here could also mean honeymoon suite-type of room.] The receptionist asks him if this girl with him is already 18 years old. This made Rihito sweatdrop and think that in the end, it won’t do. Mei quickly puts on her adult irritated act by saying that she, Fujiko [her alias] is already 22 years old. “Geez~ everyone would always say that.” She tells the receptionist that she is quite knowledgeable about pension, tax and insurance. [<- She is pretending to be a government worker]. She adds that the bureau chief [based on Sister Rose] would always give her a lot of work to do and that woman would drink wine in midday. Then, there is also that section chief who kept on sexual harassing her for everyday, he would ask her if she likes any guy and isn’t she going to marry, those type of questions. [<- based on her grandfather] Mei asks the receptionist if she is listening to her gripes. The receptionist just sweatdrops and tells them that the room is ready for them. While walking at the hallway with a bellboy leading them, Rihito comments that Mei is brilliant. Mei darkly says that she will be 18 years old in a few days so she should be 18 years old. Rihito is speechless for Mei is irked by what the receptionist said. In the room, Mei looks tense to see the luxurious double room that has a bedroom, a bathroom and a living [/drawing] room. Mei is surprised when Rihito calls her Fujiko and says that her hair has grown long. Mei goes along with the act by calling him, Nezu and asks if he meant that short hair suits her better. Rihito tells her that whether it is short or long, she’s cute. While the two continue with their sweet talk, the bellboy thinks that it is a stupid love couple and he wishes them happiness during their stay. After the bellboy left, Mei happily thanks Fujiko and Nezu for their ‘help’.

At school, the girls are gossiping about Mei eloping with her butler, Rihito. Someone says that Mei has no shame and upbringing. Another one defends Mei by saying that she heard that Rihito has been dismissed of his duty so maybe that is the reason. They wonder what Izumi and others thought of this. With Izumi and others looking sober, Kento, wearing what seem to be pilot clothes, tells them that he is going after Mei so if they ever get in touch with Mei, he hopes that they can quickly inform him about it. Nezu comments that Kento has already totally became Hongo’s son-in-law. Kento didn’t reply back. Aloof Miruku asks if they [/Kento] definitely ought to check out all the routes connecting from the school. Claris comments that is quite troublesome. Rika exclaims that it isn’t troublesome but rather, it is quite shameful. “Eloping with the butler? What kind of joke is this! The honor of being a student of St. Lucia Academy has become a laughingstock. Kowtow [kneel-prostrate] down to us to apologize, Shibata Kento, for Mei has disgraced us!” Kento didn’t move and just seriously tells them that this isn’t Mei’s fault, but Rihito’s since he forcibly took Mei away when he [Kento] has officially been declared as Mei’s marriage partner. Daimon mutters to the other butlers that it seems that the news about Kento becoming Mei’s groom is true. Aoyama just says, ya. Kento tells them that there are only nine days left before Mei’s birthday, the day when the wedding ceremony is going to be held so Rihito.. Tami comes in and says that if Rihito did that then, that is really such a despicable way of doing things. Without turning to look at Tami, Kento says that is right. “Rihito is really despicable so I’m going to use my both hands to defeat that guy.” Tami tells Kento that he doesn’t believe him because that guy is his brother. Preparing to leave while emitting some dark aura, Kento says, “He isn’t my brother anymore, and I should defeat..the enemy.” Just as he is going out, Kanzaki mutters to him that his shoulders are too stiff. Kento looks a bit flustered then he leaves by slamming the door.

Cover: “Choose? Choose butler? ..No, it’s choosing the future.” In Mei’s room, someone mutters, “Mei-ojousama..--” A slightly flustered Rihito is about to touch sleeping Mei’s face but he stops and draws away his hand. Just when Rihito is about to leave the room, Mei thinks that someone is calling her, ‘Mei-ojousama’. “It’s such a lonely sound, who is it..?” Mei wakes up to see Rihito going out of the door. Rihito is surprised when Mei calls out to him. Rihito turns around to see Mei sitting up [or rather kneeling on] her bed and looking at him. She asks him where he is going. After a pause, Rihito says that he isn’t going anywhere. Mei looks at him and says that he’s lying. To her surprise, this made Rihito chuckle. Rihito leans near to her and says, “From the very start, apparently, my lies are of no use to you, Mei-ojousama. I’m going to leave for a while. *Mei is surprised* Those two butlers, Xiang and Fei, are not only just Hongo family’s judges [for the fiance duel].. I think that they definitely have some other intention, I’ll temporarily leave here and investigate about this from outside.” Mei asks him when he is going to return. Somewhat sad, Rihito looks at her and says, “..very soon.” Mei looks at him then, to his surprise, Mei grabs his sleeve. Mei tells him, “Let me go [with you]. Please let me go [with you], I want.. to be with you, Rihito-san..” Rihito tells her that he cannot do that. Mei insists that she won’t be a nuisance to him. Rihito tells her that leaving the academy unauthorized is a violation of school’s rules. Mei replies that about that, she’ll just properly explain the reason and clear things up afterwards. Rihito looks at her then leans closer to her ear. He tells her that she is really a kid who doesn’t listen [/disobedient]. “I might, take you away from this place, then never to return [here], you know? Because, just being able to attain you, Mei-ojousama is enough [for me]. The hard work you have done this past four years as well as my career as a butler, it will all for naught. Abandoning one’s responsibilities, commitment, and also, honor, I am a despicable guy who can calmly do all these things. And, you might.. also not be able to see your friends again. *Mei looks surprised* ..Of course, you won’t see Kento again.” After looking surprised, Mei closes her eyes then suddenly hugs surprised Rihito. “Even if that is so.. (right now.. I cannot let him go..) *Rihito hugs her back* Because I feel, if I let go right now, I won’t be able to see Rihito-san ever again..”
