Chapter 37: Attraction After looking surprised at the special ticket and being told by Ageha to break up, Hayato suddenly bends down in pain. Worried and shocked by that, she tearfully calls out for someone to help him. Hayato sits up and tells her that he’s only kidding her. Ageha gets angry at him and shouts for him to quit joking around. Hayato tells her that is his line. Holding out the ticket, he asks what that is about. Ageha looks flustered and tells him that she isn’t joking about that. Hayato looks surprised. He asks her why. Ageha looks away and thinks that she actually doesn’t want to break up but.. Hayato is surprised again when Ageha tells him that it is because she cannot heal the wound that Arisa left in his heart. After some thinking, Hayato says he understands and thanks her for everything until now. Ageha looks at him but he just looks away towards the window. Ageha felt that she heard a sound as if something snapped. Ageha starts walking out the door. She looks back but he is still not looking at her. Teary-eyed Ageha goes out and runs out of the hospital. She thinks that it is the sound of their relationship being severed. “Goodbye--” At their house, Hana goes to her twin’s room to find Ageha moping on the bed. She asks her when Hayato can leave the hospital. To her surprise, Ageha tells her that she doesn’t know. Hana starts reprimanding her as to why she doesn’t know when she is supposed to be his girlfriend. Since Ageha isn’t replying, Hana keeps asking about it since she assumes that Ageha hasn’t heard her. To her shock, Ageha confesses that they have broken up. Holding Ageha’s shoulders, Hana asks when it happened and did he dump her. Ageha corrects her that it was she who dumped him. Hana freaks out over this and exclaims what she is going to do if she causes Hayato’s stomach illness to become worse. Ageha tells her that it will be much worse if they stay together. When Hana asks why, Ageha explains to her that she has also seen it how Hayato puked blood because he was looking for her, and if they stay together, Hayato will just keep on acting recklessly. It is because of her that he turned out that way. Hana exclaims that Hayato shouldn’t want to break up with her. Ageha says that she doesn’t know because he didn’t ask her to stay. Ageha tells Hana that Hayato couldn’t say it and even if he wants to break up with her, he also won’t say it. Hana asks why. Ageha tells her that it is because when she was young, she has been abandoned by her parents and this had an influence [/trauma] on her. This surprises Hana. Ageha continues to say that she is stupid because every time she is uneasy, she will always think of Hayato and wonders if he wants her or not. Whatever she is unsatisfied about in her youth, she would throw at Hayato. “Even if sensei had always treated me sincerely but I never thought of settling [this issue] myself and I only want to depend on sensei. I cannot heal sensei’s heartache. But, I hope to be able to stand on my own and reduce sensei’s burden. And, that is what the current me can at least do for sensei.”

Chapter 34: Betrayal Ageha is shock to see Rena in Hayato’s embrace. She begins to wonder if the reason why he is was cold and made her leave is because Rena is coming to see him. Ageha hides in the corner and peeks out again. She cannot hear what they are talking and to her shock, Hayato invites Rena inside. She thought they already have an agreement that he can meet with Rena as long as it isn’t in his apartment. She can only think that if Hayato invited Rena in then he had betrayed her. Inside, Hayato is still into a guilt trip telling Rena that he should have saved Arisa first before the others. Rena is teary-eyed and says that she understands how he feels. Hayato couldn’t make himself forget how this guilt because he felt that if he did, he would totally lose Arisa. Thus, he is currently confused over how to feel and what to do. Rena holds his arm to comfort him. They were interrupted when Hayato’s phone starts ringing. It is Ageha. Hayato answers and almost became deaf when Ageha shouts, “Idiot!” Rena is puzzled by that. Hayato goes out of his apartment and looks around but to Ageha’s horror, Hayato just went inside his apartment with Rena. She couldn’t believe that he just went out for a minute then headed back in. [This part is blurry but I guess] Ageha is whining to her friends about what happened. Bibi caused more fear for Ageha when she asked if it was okay for him to just leave Hayato and Rena alone at night. Her friends ask if she would want to check on it and they can accompany her but Ageha stubbornly refuses to go since he treated her coldly a while ago, and she fears verifying the truth. They were surprised when Ageha’s phone is ringing and it is Hayato who is calling. Hayato asks about the reason she called. Ageha tells him that was two hours ago. Hayato just tells her that they should talk after her work. Ageha looks tense but says it is okay. She tells her friends about it. They are happy for her but Inoue notices that Ageha doesn’t looks pleased about it. At the park, Hayato is surprised that it is only Inoue who came to meet him. Inoue gives him a letter from Ageha and she quickly leaves. Ageha wrote him that she mentioned before that if he wanted to help Rena, she would help him but if he breaks his promise, she will feel very hurt about it. She asked him if he thought of her when he let Rena inside his apartment. Inoue heads to a restaurant and informs Ageha that she has given the letter. Ageha asks about Hayato’s expression. Inoue says that Hayato was shock like he was thinking ‘who are you’. Inoue asks if Ageha is still concerned about that. Ageha looks downcast. Inoue tells her that she didn’t smell that scent on Hayato and if she is that uneasy, she ought to go and talk with Hayato. Ageha is troubled for she still doubts Hayato and doesn’t want to confirm her suspicions.

She says that before the fall,, she had somewhat remembered some scenes of the accident and she was holding someone’s hand. Hayato tries to tell her that they should see each other and talk. He asks again where she is. Rena shouts at him that if it is the truth, she wants him to tell her so with his own mouth. She pleads him to tell her if it is really her, and not him, who was holding her sister’s hand. Hayato finally admitted that it is true. He is shock when she hangs up on him. She stops when Ageha’s cellphone starts ringing. It is Hayato who tells Ageha that he couldn’t contact Rena and it isn’t good for her to be alone right now. Hayato will go to Rena’s house to check on her. He asks if Ageha can go to his house to check if Rena is there. Ageha immediately agrees. She also gets Hana to go with her. At Hayato’s place, the twins didn’t see Rena. Hana asks what they should do know. Ageha says that they will wait for Hayato to call them. To Ageha’s shock, Hana complains why she has to be dragged along in looking for Rena. Ageha shouts at her that it is her fault so she should bear bit responsible for it. Ageha shouts as to why Hana told it to Rena. Hana just pouts and won’t tell her. Ageha just mentally calls Hana stupid and feels that she ought to apologize to Ran.

Chapter 30 Title: Cursed On the way home, Hana tells Ageha that Rena is really strange [to blame Hayato] when he didn’t do anything wrong. She asks Ageha doesn’t it make her feel that Rena is too cruel to say such things to Hayato. Rena had passed over the blame to Hayato while Rena totally forgot about it and acting as if she’s the victim. Hana believes that they should just tell Rena about it. Ageha exclaims what if Rena’s heart collapse if they told her. Hana says that it has been four years already and it shouldn’t bad to let Rena know about it now. Hana smiles at Ageha and whispers to her about tell Rena. Ageha shouts that they can’t because they promised Ran and also, Hayato has decided to help Rena with her condition so they shouldn’t meddle. Hana asks when Rena will recover and if this continues, Hayato will always be entangled with Rena so it’s best to just let Rena know. Ageha holds Hana’s shoulders and shouts that they must not and they shouldn’t just do things on their own. Hana asks why Ageha is that agitated. Hana tells Ageha to think about it, Hayato has already wasted 4 years in trying help Rena recover but from looking at her, Rena’s wound is still very deep. “It is for the best that we, as outsiders, cannot just easily meddle in this. Let’s leave Miss Rena’s affairs to sensei.” At Hayato’s apartment, Rena is sleeping on his sofa while he closes the curtain. Ding- rings the oven toaster with some slices of bread inside. This woke Rena up. Hayato greets her a good morning. Rena sits up and exclaims her disbelief that she has fallen asleep. Hayato laughs and says that she slept really soundly. [snoring, perhaps?] This made Rena really embarrassed that she quickly goes towards the door and exclaims that she’s leaving. Hayato invites her to eat first even if he only has some toasted bread. Rena blushes and accepts his invitation. She asks him why he isn’t asking her anything. She says that before, he’s way too annoying that he kept on recounting what happened on the day when her sister passed away to the point of thoroughly investigating her family. Hayato spits out what he’s drinking. While wiping the mess, Hayato says that it is true that it is annoying. He apologizes and says that he is just doing some reflection/soul-searching before, so he didn’t realize how annoying it is to listen to others talking. While washing the rag, Hayato tells her that being annoying to her while thinking of a way to make her understand seems to be such a very strong/forceful method. “So, right now, I think that if you are happy and everything, then I can be at ease. Speaking of that, if the person doesn’t want to go after happiness by oneself then no matter what one [another person] does is meaningless. At that time, I don’t know this.” Hayato smiles and apologizes for making her tense. Rena blushes a bit while looking at Hayato.
