At the clubroom, Yuki is worried about Chitose
because it has been three days since he got in touch with Chitose through phone
or texts. She isn’t going to school either when today is obviously the last
activity for the school term. He was hoping that Chitose would immediately call
him with her high pitch voice and he can no longer endure it. Shun asks Yuki if
Chitose is alright. Yuki asks why. Shun says that it is because Chitose hasn’t
been coming to school and she’s not replying to his texts, so is she sick. Yuki
looks surprised that Shun happily asks if they had a quarrel since he [Yuki]
didn’t know. =P Yuki denies it and says that it is only a little thing that has
happened. Yuki asks Saaya if she heard from Tadashi. Saaya says no, and she
hasn’t been in touch the past few days. Midoriko decides to call Chitose but
the phone isn’t answered. Saaya offers her phone to Yuki so that he can call
Tadashi to ask about Chitose since they are all worried. To his surprise,
Tadashi tells him that Chitose is currently in Okinawa. At Okinawa, Chitose
just visted her grandma. Then, she asks if she can borrow a cellphone. Her
grandma refuses because as punishment for lying, she can’t have it during
summer vacation. While walking home, Chitose wonders what Yuki is doing and did
her brother properly contact him. Flashback: Tadashi told Chitose that it is no
good for the whole thing is exposed to their family. Chitose is shock. He told
her that as standard procedure, the school called their house and in the end,
the entering showbiz lie is exposed. Their parents are very angry and their
grandma is furious since she has been anticipating Chitose to become an actress
and be in the television. Chitose wondered what to do. Tadashi suggested that
they quickly go home to apologize. He’ll also accompany her. Chitose agreed
with this idea. So, they bought tickets to Okinawa that night. They
enthusiastically apologized and managed to be forgiven, thanks to Tadashi who
covered up for Chitose. Because of some urgent work, Tadashi returned to Tokyo
on the second day. She had asked Tadashi to inform Yuki because her cellphone
has been confiscated. Tadashi said okay. Then, her mother made her stay in
Okinawa since it is summer vacation anyway, and she has to be obedient to her
grandma. Thinking that grandma has the highest authority, Chitose timidly
agreed. End flashback.

Chitose, Etc [Last Chapter]
[Free Talk: After months had
passed and the missing Chinese chapters were never uploaded so I’m skipping to
the final chapter to give this series closure. From chapter 42, there are
around 6-7[?] chapters afterwards. From the spoilers that I’ve read from jennyjule, what
happened after chapter 42 was that Shun has realized that he likes Chitose.
Chitose thinks that Shun’s actions are because of some lovers’ quarrel with
Saaya. Later, Shun informs this realization to Saaya who decided to break up
with him. Then, there is a scene of Saaya shopping with Chitose’s brother,
Tadashi. I do not know if Shun actively chased after Chitose afterwards. There
is only a scene of Chitose blushing upon seeing Shun half-naked. Hehe, jennyjule
had most probably skipped the chapters that had Yuki in it because she likes
Shun and she mentioned about losing interest in the series. ^^;]

The Matsuri members are in a club meeting. Looking at Chitose, Shun thinks, “What’s up with me? From that time, I’ve always inadvertently pay attention to Kaneshiro. I can’t stop myself from staring at her. Kaneshiro and Yuki had already become one, and I have been looking forward to that. What is this? This confused feeling.. When she had become Yuki’s, I would unexpectedly feel that it is a loss? But, I’m not a person who’ll want to monopolize someone else’s person[/lover]. *holds head* Ah, geez- What’s going on with me! *glances at an empty chair* Huh? No longer there..” Shun is surprised to see Chitose standing at his side. Holding a notebook, she is asking him about the computation he made and can he go through it again since she is going to re-do it. After talking with him about it, Chitose smiles and thanks him. While Chitose asks him to look at another thing, Shun thinks, “Was this girl this cute? Her smile is too brilliant! Ah, ah, that’s right, it’s definitely, because she’s so happy, that’s why it is quite dazzling..” Shun frowns and pinches Chitose’s cheek really hard. Holding her cheek, Chitose screams that it hurts, what is he doing!? Shun says that it is nothing, he is just in a bit of bad mood. Chitose exclaims, what, that’s so mean. Chitose cries to Yuki who exclaims what Shun is doing. Shun snubs him. Yuki touches Chitose’s cheek and comforts her. Shun looks at the two talking and smiling together. Irked Shun thinks that it’s only a hand and it doesn’t go beyond the boundary. Shun looks away. Saaya is quietly watching this. Walking at the hallway, Yuki asks if he went overboard. Shun says that even if their relationship had progressed, but isn’t that a bit unsightly and they are still in the middle of club activity. Yuki says is that so, sorry, he didn’t notice it. Shun thinks that this is jealousy and the one who can’t bear to watch it is him. Shun says that Yuki even said that he wanted to maintain this period of time but things happened quickly that he didn’t even have to tell that to him. Yuki sheepishly says that yes, his endurance is already at its limit. “But, it’s alright! There’s no need for me to worry at all! Chitose is still simple[/pure] and cute, and there’s not much change at all. Ah, but, she did become a bit sexy. Ah! It is possible that it’s because my perspective towards her is no longer the same! Haha” This irks gloomy Shun. Shun turns around and says that he is going to buy a snack. Puzzled Yuki looks at Shun walking away and thinks that it seems that Shun is unhappy.

Chitose, Etc. [Chapter 41]

Chitose wonders what they are going to do since they got locked up in the elevator. She calls out to Yuki. Yuki tells her that it is alright for this huge building only has one elevator so it will be quickly found out and the [elevator] service repair company will be contacted. He assures her that at most, it will take an hour before they can get out. Chitose says is that so. Then, she gloomily wonders why it broke after they just quarreled, so now it is really awkward. Chitose quietly walks backwards to lean on the wall away from Yuki. She looks up and thinks that if it is the usual Yuki, he will be more kind and considerate at this time. “He’ll go to my side and comfort me by telling me not to worry. And, he would smile and look at me.” Yuki is surprised when Chitose exclaims that she believes him, and it is because she likes him that is why she feels uneasy. “I don’t know what guys are thinking so I really bothered by what Akaishi-kun said...” Yuki goes to face her. He tells her that she still doesn’t understand it a bit. “Because you are a bit childish that is why I don’t have that kind of thinking? Do you think that is possible? ..you didn’t know how much I have endured, and how much I’ve cherished you! *blush* You totally don’t know!” Blushing Chitose asks if he was enduring..why? Yuki says that it is because he wants Chitose to still be like this for a period of time and he doesn’t wanted to be hated by her. Chitose innocently asks why, and how could she hate him. Yuki pauses and says that Chitose only knows his kind[/gentle] side and when that time comes, she’ll definitely be shock. Chitose says but he is truly, very kind and he is always like that. Yuki says that he can’t say it well. Looking serious, Yuki tells her that if he wasn’t able to endure[/restrain] himself, he will be very overbearing and possibly, he won’t be a bit gentle. This made Chitose blush really red.

On the way home, Chitose tells Yuki that Amika likes Takeru/Subaru since he was the one who saved her from some bullying girls. She thinks that Takeru isn’t a bad kid. She tells Yuki that she would want to have a talk with Takeru so that he won’t always be angry with Yuki and Saaya. Also, she want Takeru to understand that the truth isn’t like that. Chitose also tells him that if one strives hard to talk with Takeru, surely, he would understand. Yuki agrees with her proposal because Takeru won’t listen to whatever he and Saaya says, so maybe it would be better if it is Chitose. Yuki is a bit hesitant because they will have to talk alone and he is worried that something will happen like that ring incident. Chitose assures him that it is okay because she’ll be careful. Determined Chitose wants to try it out. Later on, at the hallway, Chitose tells Takeru that she wants to talk with him. Takeru says okay, so where, at the courtyard or the roof. Gesturing for him to stop, Chitose tells him no, not right now, for he can’t skip class. She says that she wants to talk about a lot of things with him so can he find time to go out with her on weekend when he has no activities after school. Takeru says that he has work on weekend but it is the foundation day so he ought to have free time in the afternoon. Chitose agrees with that. Takeru happily asks if this is a date and is it okay. Chitose exclaims that it isn’t a date. Takeru insists that it is. Chitose says that they are only going to talk and there is a nearby park or cafe. Takeru exclaims that is boring and it is his rare rest day so find a place that they can have fun or else, he won’t go. After a pause, Chitose agrees. This delights Takeru who happily says that he’ll anticipate it then, and he’ll arrange where they’ll go. At the station, Takeru greets Chitose. Chitose says that he is only wearing glasses, so what about the disguise. Takeru says that he isn’t that popular, for him to do that. Chitose asks where they are going. He tells her that he actually wants to go to a theme park but he suddenly thought of some other place that he wants to go. Also, it is only today when he can go there. “Will you accompany me there?” Then, they watch a theater play.

In the clubroom, Amika gives Chitose the data that she has already gathered, and asks what else she is going to do. Chitose tells her that nothing much is done except for data gathering for the activity. Chitose tells her about the other stuff in the clubroom. She can’t help but admire Amika’s beauty, and how cute she is. She also can’t help but wonder how come she has a good relationship with that weird Subaru. Midoriko asks Amika if Subaru is coming. Amika didn’t know for he left the classroom, earlier than her. Chitose is very happy with herself because she has already told everything to Yuki so there’s no need for her to be afraid of Subaru. Then, she notices that Yuki is also late. Yuki arrives late and tells the others that he met Subaru who won’t be coming because he has work to do. Yuki looks at Saaya who is working on something with Shun. He calls out Saaya and the two went out for a while. This somewhat puzzle Chitose and Shun. Outside, Yuki tells Saaaya that Subaru is Natsume Takeru, Misaki’s younger brother. Flashback: An hour ago, at the roof, Yuki wanted Takeru to explain things clearly to him. Takeru said that he has nothing to tell him. Yuki commented that Takeru gives a different vibe that he totally didn’t recognize him. Takeru said that on contrary, Yuki and Saaya are still the same that he quickly recognized them, and he lost his Kansai accent because of work, but he uses it when at home. Yuki told him that his sister Yuka is going out with his brother. Takeru says that he knows and it is from his brother that he knew that they are studying in this school. Flashback 2: At home, Yutaka is talking with Takeru as to which high school he would want to go. When Takeru mentioned his interest with Haisawa High, Yutaka told him that Yuki and Saaya are studying there. Takeru asked him how he knew this and that is when Yutaka admitted that he is going steady with Yuka. Takeru remembers that Saaya is also an actress. To Takeru’s surprise, he learns that Saaya and Yuki are no longer going steady. They broke up and found their own respective new lovers. Takeru couldn’t believe that they hurt his brother Misaki and now, they found other lovers.

Chitose, Etc. [Chapter 34]

Chitose cannot believe that Subaru is a new student in their school. Subaru notices that she is looking at him that he tells her that he will be under her care. This makes Midoriko ask if they know each other and is it through Tadashi. Aghast Chitose says no. Shun recognizes Subaru as the one who called out Chitose during White Day. Saaya says that is impossible for he is a new student. Subaru smiles and admits that it is indeed him. Midoriko says that he should still be in junior high so why did he go to their school. Subaru tells her that there are a lot of high schools that have an acting division so he doesn’t know which one to choose. Even if this school is his first choice, he doesn’t know what kind of school atmosphere it has so he asked a sempai who graduated from this school to lend him his uniform. He went into the school many times including during that activity for Valentine’s Day, and that is when he met Chitose. Yuki is puzzled when Chitose couldn’t answer and just looks down. Subaru timidly asks if she is still angry with him. Apologetic Subaru says that it is his fault for he did something mean after getting excited upon learning that Chitose is Mikami Yui [/Tadashi]’s younger sister, but he ends up provoking her to anger. The others ask what he did. When Subaru is about to mention the ring, Chitose quickly shouts that there is no need for him to say it. Smiling Yuki says that Chitose is exaggerating [with her reaction?] and even if he doesn’t know what it is, she should forgive Subaru for he doesn’t have a bad intention about it. Kanata also says that is true, they are now all club members and everyone ought to have a good relationship. Aghast Chitose just sweatdrops. Subaru apologizes to Chitose and says that definitely, from today on, he’ll be more careful. Looking at Subaru’s puppy-like apologetic expression, Chitose thinks that what he did is really mean, no matter how she thinks of it, but it seems that he has already reflected on his actions. Chitose ends up forgiving him. Subaru is delighted to hear that. And Amika [formerly Alicia] is also happy for him. Midoriko asks Amika if she is Subaru’s girlfriend. Blond says that they are only friends. They went to the same junior high school and are under the same acting company. Subaru tells them that Amika is in showbiz since she was a child and Subaru was discovered by Amika’s manager. There is a scene of Amika walking with Subaru and the manager asked Subaru if he is interested in showbiz. Because they had the same kind of work, there are many times when they are together. Subaru also tells them that he was interested about that Vday activity before so he wanted to join the Matsuri club, and Amika also wants to join in. At her bedroom, Chitose is really gloomy over her ring taken by Subaru. “Huhu.. the ring~~ What am I to do.. *bites fingernail* No matter what, I should also go and see Subaru first. Which school does he go to? Should I ask Saaya about it, and get her to introduce me to Subaru’s co-worker who knows of his affairs? And then, conveniently ask which school he goes to and what his contact information is. Ya..it pretty much won’t do.. for how can someone simply tell an outsider about a celebrity’s private information. Also, Saaya will definitely ask me for the reason. Ah-- *troubled; holds head; calms down* ..but, if I think of it in detail, no matter what, it isn’t like he isn’t going to give it back anymore. Isn’t that a bit too much? That’s right! For things to end up like this, also cannot be helped but, isn’t it like being robbed? He won’t let it become like that! Yes, yes, *confident* he is only teasing me! He’ll definitely give it back! *realize something* And, he’s wearing our school’s uniform, so even if that is a somewhat puzzling.. Ah, there is a possibility that he’ll transfer into our school! Cover page: “The start of days which are like a dream..” [<-Dating with Yuki] On March 1st, Chitose arrives at the clubroom and apologizes for being late. She is surprise when everyone pulls their party poppers and shouts, “Happy Birthday! Chitose!” While Chitose blushes, they tell her that they want to surprise her and they prepared a birthday party. Chitose thanks everyone and says that she is surprised. Chitose asks Shun if this is the reason why he asked her to borrow some books from the library. Shun says that it is for them to have time to prepare. Kanata tells her that they even bought cake. Chitose blows the candles and everyone claps. Saaya gives Chitose a wrapped gift and tells her that it is from everyone. It is a blouse. Chitose thanks them and says that it is cute. Gesturing to Yuki, Midoriko happily says that it is now for the important part, the gift that her boyfriend will give her. Embarrassed Yuki tells Midoriko that if it is possible, he would want to give it to Chitose privately. He says that it is their first celebration of Chitose’s birthday since they’ve gone steady so why does it have to be in front of everyone.. Kanata tells him that there’s no need to hide it. Midoriko agrees and says that it would be more fun if everyone is there. While everyone else is chanting ‘Give the gift’, Yuki finally gives in to them. Yuki gives Chitose a small box and says that he hopes that she likes it. Chitose opens the box and says that it is cute, it’s an apple. Yuki says no, it is a box so why doesn’t she try opening it. Chitose opens the apple and sees a cute ribbon ring. While blushing Chitose looks at it in surprise, everyone is saying that it is a ring except for Midoriko who says that it turns out to be a ring. Yuki covers Midoriko’s mouth and tells her to be quiet. Yuki tells Chitose that his sister helped him choose it. “How is it.. Do you like it?” Chitose nods and says that she really likes it. “Thank you, Yuki-kun!”

Walking at the hallway, Yuki is called by Machi [<- senpai whom Yuki is partly dating before; she appeared during the school festival]. After exchanging greetings, Machi tells him that she is finally free this weekend so let’s go on a date. Yuki apologizes and says that he can’t. Machi asks if someone else had already taken that day, can’t he cancel it. While Yuki tries to decline, Machi says that she only had dated him once and isn’t it still within the limit of having two dates [per girl]. Yuki explains to her that he doesn’t do that kind of stuff anymore because from today onwards, he doesn’t go out with any other girls except for his girlfriend. Machi exclaims why, and lately, Saaya is with some other guy, and it seems to be Akaishi-kun from Matsuri club. Yuki laughs and says that it is because those two are going steady. Machi exclaims in shock that he has broken up with Saaya. She asks, if this means that he is now single. Scratching his head, Yuki tells her no, he also has a [new] girlfriend. Machi asks who it is. Yuki refuses to tell her by saying that it is a secret. Yuki tries to bid her goodbye but Machi holds his shoulder. She tells him to explain it clearly to her and even if he won’t tell her, this issue will quickly be known. “Who is your new girlfriend!?” Elsewhere, Chitose is walking at the hallway. Some girls are gossiping that ‘she’ is Yuki’s new girlfriend and could it be that Yuki’s taste has changed since ‘she’ is really different from Saaya. Someone says that it is quite amazing to choose a girlfriend, not based on one’s appearance. Another one says that it isn’t just an ordinary appearance, there is definitely some method Chitose used because her ex-boyfriend is Shun. A guy says that maybe Chitose has a very good sex appeal. The other guy doesn’t believe him. Then, Shun walks beside with Chitose. He tells her that she has been gaining a lot of attention. He asks her if Yuki’s fans are bullying her. The other girls are gossiping that the people in Matsuri club are really peculiar for even if they are ex-lovers, they still can talk normally. They wonder if they were dumped before so they’ve become lovers but then, from the start, who is the lover of whom. Chitose assures Shun to relax for she is okay. Occasionally, they would just look at her suspiciously or perhaps they are glaring at her. She tells him that she told her good friends about the sequence of events regarding what happened and they understand her situation. Shun says that is good.

Holding each other’s hands, Chitose and Yuki walk at the beach. Chitose happily says that it has been a long time since she went to the beach. Yuki says that it is the same with him and the last time he went on a beach, was when he went to Okinawa. Yuki then asks Chitose if he can call her ‘Chi’ just like how her brother calls her. He feels that it is cute to call her that way. Flustered Chitose happily smiles and says, okay. Yuki smiles over this. Then, he tells her that it seems that Chitose has not formally told him that she likes him. This surprises Chitose that she asks if she didn’t. Yuki says yes, and even if he knows about it in his heart but he still wants her to say it from her own mouth. “Can you?” Chitose looks at him. Chitose tells him that before Saaya asked her why would she like Yuki and if she [Chitose] only wanted a nice, good-looking guy from Tokyo, she can totally find other guys.. “At that time, I’ve become skeptical for a time.. is my feelings for Yuki-kun really that superficial.. *Yuki looks somewhat surprised* Later on, I’ve realize that it isn’t like that. Because.. just like in a manga, the only one who can make my feelings suddenly become tight is Yuki-kun. I don’t have this kind of feeling with other guys. The one I truly like is only you. ..even if I do not know why, but from the start, I really like you.” Yuki quickly hugs her. A bit flustered, he says, “Thank you.. I also really like you. I will cherish you forever.” Chitose hugs him back and says, “Ya.” Back at the apartment, Yuki apologizes to Tadashi over the trouble yesterday. “And also.. Even if saying it right now, may be a bit late.. I really like Chitose, can you allow us to go steady?” Tadashi smiles and says yes, of course. “If only Chi can be happy, then I, as her brother, don’t have any objections. From today on, I’ll be leaving Chi, to you, Yuki-kun.” Yuki thanks him for that. Tadashi asks if Shun and Saaya agreed with this. Yuki/Chitose tells him that those two originally liked each other and right now, they are also going steady. Tadashi goes pop-eye in surprise. He exclaims if this is like exchanging each other’s girlfriends and they are really amazing for how were they going steady before. Yuki and Chitose sweatdrops as Yuki apologizes. As he prepares to leave, Yuki tells Chitose that they’ll go to school together tomorrow. He’ll just text [/sms] her what time they’ll leave. As Yuki holds Chitose’s hand, Chitose tells him to rest early. Yuki says, “You, too.”

I’m more suitable to go through it slowly, step by step.” As Yuki holds her face, Chitose wonders if she is dreaming. “Yuki-kun suddenly appeared.. even said that he belongs to me.. and even kissed me.. *Yuki hugs her* That’s not right.. this isn’t a dream.. it’s reality.. *blushes and surprised* What!? Reality!? Waah! What to do!? My heart.. suddenly..” Her heart is beating fast and loudly. Yuki comments that her hair smells fragrant. Chitose tells him that it is because she used a peach smelling shampoo during her bath. Yuki is surprised when Chitose exclaims that he also go take a dip at the onsen [/hot spring]. It is quite comfortable and there is even an outdoor onsen. Looking somewhat surprised, Yuki asks if it is an outdoor mixed bath and if they [C&S] took the bath together. This made Chitose blush really red in shock. She exclaims no, the male and females are separated. Yuki says is that so, and even if an onsen is nice but.. “I still do not want to leave you.. *hugs Chitose again* It’s not easy, to be able to hug you like this.” Blushing Chitose is getting dizzy as she tells him to wait. She pushes away from him and apologizes to him that she cannot take it since her heart is beating too fast so can he let her calm down a bit. Yuki looks at her and says okay, then, he’ll go take a dip first. Chitose smiles and says okay, she’ll give him a yukata [/robe]. As Chitose goes to get it from a cabinet, Yuki hugs her again from behind and says that in the end, he cannot stop himself. Blushing with heart beating loudly, Chitose sweatdrops and asks him if he really cannot. Soon, Yuki waves her goodbye to go and take a bath.

At the apartment, Yuka tells Yuki and Saaya that she will be walking Yutaka back [to the station?]. Yutaka thanks the two for entertaining him and bids them goodbye. The two just smile as Yuki says not to be too polite and he can go back there anytime. After Yuka and Yutaka left, the two’s smiles disappear. Saaya says that Misaki already knows [/understands] about them and it is alright even if they break up. This surprises Yuki. She tells him that she cannot use Misaki as an alibi anymore and she ought to grant Yuki his freedom. Yuki asks if it is okay. Saaya says that she doesn’t know for she feels uneasy and afraid just at the thought of breaking up. “Yuki knows everything about me including my bad sides. Even if it is like this, nice Yuki still accepts me. I’m always pampered within your embrace. Maybe, it is like what Yuka have said.. I had become dependent on you. *teary-eyed* Even if I had mutually fallen in love with someone else, I also won’t know if that person will treat me, just like how you did. I don’t have self-confidence on that. It will definitely not go smoothly..” Yuki pats her head and tells her to relax for she is really outstanding, beautiful and charismatic so a lot of guys will like her, and would love her so much more than him. Saaya hugs him and asks if he will always be her best male friend. Cover page: “This pair of hands, perhaps, I shouldn’t hold them.” At the station, Chitose’s eyes brighten up upon seeing the Shinkansen [bullet train]. Shun asks if it is also her first time. Chitose happily says yes and she is really looking forward to ride on the Nozomi. Shun flatly tells her that this isn’t Nozomi but Kodama since Nozomi is on a different line. [Ah, from what I understand in wiki, Nozomi is a faster train than Kodama.] After a pause, Chitose says that it doesn’t matter. She takes his hand and says that as long as it is the Shinkansen, it doesn’t matter. “Let’s quickly get on it!” Inside the train, Chitose looks around and happily says that it is pretty much like what she has seen on the television. She happily sits down and recline the chair. Then, she pulls down the food tray in front. Pointing at the window, Chitose asks Shun if they can see Fuji Mountain on this side and when will they see it. To her shock, Shun says that they won’t see it because Fuji Mountain is on the back side of Mishima whereas they are going to the front side of Mishima to Atami [coastal hot spring resort in Shizuoka prefecture. Shun looks at his watch and says that Atami is quite near that it took only 50 minutes for them to arrive there from Shinagawa. When Shun starts to look for the hotel’s car, Chitose tells him that they still have time so why don’t they go sight-seeing. Holding a pamphlet, Chitose happily says that she wants to go to the herb garden and eat rose ice cream. [She probably meant, Akao Herb and Rose Garden]

Cover: Shun helps Chitose get a book from the top shelf. “So, during this time, you should call me [to help you].” In the clubroom, Shun is busy typing something on the laptop computer while Chitose is writing something. She tells Shun that today, everyone is late. Shun says that’s for sure. Chitose then looks at him. She blushes really red when she remembers her brother’s suggestion that to make her like Shun better, she should try out H [/sex]. She shakes her head and thinks, “No, no! That is something that I cannot do unless I totally like [/love] the guy! I shouldn’t mess up the sequence. It is a mistake to ask brother an opinion regarding love. I should give back those [hotspring/] onsen’s lovers’ tickets to him. Yes, I should do that then think of some other way. *glances at Shun* Speaking of that, Akaishi-kun lately hasn’t mentioned again about wanting to kiss me kind of stuff. Even if I don’t let him do that kind of thing, it seems that he has some sort of anguish [from not doing it], is he already used to it or it doesn’t matter anymore?” Chitose asks Shun if it is alright with him not to do those kiss stuff anymore. Shun looks surprised at her. He asks her, “You want to? Can I?” Aghast, Chitose holds up her hand and exclaims no, and that isn’t what she meant. Shun sweatdrops and asks what that is, for her to fully deny it. Chitose nervously tells him that isn’t so and she only thinks that lately, he hasn’t been mentioning it. Shun says that it is because if he does more than that, she will definitely NG [/blooper/stop] him, and only getting a kiss then stopping is more agonizing. Chitose blushes and says is that so. Shun bluntly tells her, “But, if you say it is okay then I can go for it at any time, fundamentally, I want it at any time.” Blushing Chitose holds up her hand to stop him and exclaims, “No! At the roof, Yuki and Shun lean on the fence. Yuki tells Shun that he thinks that it is better to thoroughly say things clearly. Yuki admits that he confessed to Chitose and Shun ought to have heard about it. Shun says ya, and because Saaya doesn’t want to break up, Chitose went back to him. Shun asks if Yuki and Saaya started their relationship anew [/all over again]. Shun is surprised when Yuki says they didn’t. Yuki says that Saaya is like his other self that she is an existence who is more important than his family. “I would help her no matter when, I can do anything no matter what it is, so always before Saaya accepted me [as lover before?], I would always stay by her side. But we, can no longer be lovers..” Shun is surprised that he asks what Yuki meant by that. “Are you abandoning Saaya?!” Yuki tells him that it isn’t abandoning, it is just that they cannot become lovers anymore. “Before Saaya also had someone whom she likes but she gave up on him and she had tearfully tell me about it. *Shun looks slightly flustered* She forcibly tried to erase those feelings because of Misaki.” Shun asks if that Misaki is the friend who died. Yuki says that it is and he, himself, is also bounded by Misaki. “Even if there is no longer feelings of desire [/dokidoki for the other person], I still like her and for me, she is very important, so I thought felt that this is quite good. Flashback: Five years ago, at National Medicine College [Specialized] Hospital, a doctor told young Saaya that the tumor is benign so there is really nothing to worry about but rather, it is only located at a place that is a bit problematic. It is necessary for them to totally take it out in order not to damage the surrounding tissue. Since it is in a relatively sensitive location, the surgery would be a bit troublesome. He assured her not to worry because there is a new medicine discovered. He also told them that if the medicine they will give her can make the tumor smaller then the surgery would really become easier to perform. Saaya is to drink the medicine for three months before they’ll have the surgery. “Let’s do our best, Saaya.” Without emotion, Saaya said, yes. While the doctor is talking to Saaya’s mother, Saaya thought that the chances of dying are still high. Even if it isn’t clearly told to her, she knew that her mother would secretly cry and her father won’t dare look at her eyes. While thinking that she will die soon, two young boys pulled the curtain to the side and peeked in. They call out to Dr. Kitsukawa and asked if that girl is the one who just got hospitalized. While the boys are hiding behind Kitsukawa and looking at Saaya, Kitsukawa tried to reprimand them for suddenly coming in on their own. Kitsukawa decided to drop the subject and just introduce the two boys to Saaya. They are Natsume Misaki and Furuya Yukito. Kitsukawa told Saaya that the two boys were admitted to the hospital because they have the same ailment as Saaya’s and they also are in grade 5, just like Saaya. They’ve always anticipated her upon learning that there will be a girl who is as old as them who is going to be hospitalized. “So, you guys, get along with each other.” Saaya looked surprised upon learning that they have the same ailment. And, she quickly got along really well with the two guys. Outside the hospital [probably at the park area], sitting on the grass, the three are talking together. Misaki said that he heard that in order to test the new drug’s potency, ten patients from all over the country has been gathered there. He is from Hyogo while Yuki is from Kanagawa. Yuki said that most of the patients are first year high school students and according to the doctor, there are a lot of young patients with this sickness this year. Misaki agreed and only the three of them are in the elementary grade. Then, Yuki gossiped to Misaki that he heard that Dr. Kitsukawa has already divorced once. Misaki is surprised to hear this. Saaya happily watched them and thought that because it is the first time for her to have ‘comrades’, who were suffering with the same illness and who can mutually understand each other in everything. “Be it fear of dying, making our parents sad, loneliness at school, jealous over healthy friends and all sorts of feelings, we can mutually understand each other. Tadashi looks surprised upon watching Chitose eating her toast listlessly. Tadashi tells her that it seems that she has no energy at all when she was very excited when she got home last night so did something good happen. Somewhat tired-flustered Chitose says that he can say that but if she thought of it in detail, she feels that it isn’t something she can simply be happy about. Her brother looks puzzled. Back in her room, Chitose looks at the snow globe and wonders what to do. She had thought about it numerous times yet she couldn’t find the answer. She is glad that it is [winter] vacation. Her cellphone rings. It is a message from Yuki asking her if she can go out for a while. Chitose hurriedly puts on a coat and heads out of her apartment. Yuki is waiting for her outside at the hallway. He smiles upon seeing her. This made Chitose blush that she felt so embarrassed that she couldn’t dare face him. She is looking down while standing in front of Yuki. Yuki tells Chitose that he called Saaya. Chitose looks up to him and asks what happened then..what Saaya said. Yuki tells her that Saaya won’t agree and even said that she won’t break up with him. “It seems that it won’t do just on the phone and I should have talk to her face to face. I was so anxious that I wanted to quickly break it off, *Chitose looks sad* but in the middle of the conversation, she hung up on me...after that, I couldn’t contact her anymore. She also won’t answer any emails. *looking positive* It’s alright, perhaps it just takes some time, but I will absolutely make her agree to break up, wait for me.” Blushing Chitose unconsciously says yes. Yuki is delighted to hear this. Chitose is surprised that she covers her mouth. Yuki happily says that’s great because yesterday, she didn’t answer him. Chitose blushes really red. She then notices that he’s looking at her. He asks if he can touch her. Chitose freaks out over this. Yuki then takes it back and says that he’ll endure it until he totally breaks it off with Saaya. Chitose didn’t answer since her heart is still beating fast. Yuki then smiles and bids her goodbye. Chitose watches him go. She goes back to her room and lies down on the bed. She sweatdrops and thinks that her heart is beating so fast. She closes her eyes and thinks, “Sorry, Saaya, I’ve answered ‘yes’..but no matter what, in the end, I still like Yuki-kun. That expression in his eyes. That voice. For me to say that, [it’s like] whatever rationality that I have had already gone out and went to cloud nine...”

Chapter 17: Narration: “Akaishi Shun, 16 years old, born on April 18, Aries, blood type B. Although this is quite sudden, but I hope everyone would accompany me as I trace back my past. I got my first confession when I was in first year junior high. This girl from some other section suddenly gave me a letter. Because it is a girl whom I had never talked with before and I don’t wish to go steady, I never paid attention to it. In the end, that girl’s friend surrounded me and loudly scolded me nonstop.” Aghast Shun is surrounded by three girls. They shouted at him that he’s too cruel for snubbing their friend. They told him that it wasn’t easy for her to summon the courage to confess and what does he plan to do about it. After it was finished, Shun gloomily thought, “Why couldn’t they accept that ‘no answer is a kind of reply’? Girls are really scary..” Narration: “Because of that, I have become a bit afraid of girls. Afterwards, even if a lot more girls confessed, but I totally refused them all.” Shun shook his head and told the girl, “No, thank you.” Then, during my second year, it is around August when I met Narumi*.” [*Formerly Nami ^^; special thanks to Bebexiu for the help with this and the other names ^^] Shun opened the door and told Narumi that his sister went out so she isn’t there. Narumi said that it is strange because they are supposed to meet. She asked him if she can come in and wait inside. Shun seemed to be a bit hesitant. Later on, he is reading a book in his room. He heard a sound behind him. He turned around to see that Narumi has barged in his room. She commented that it is such a ‘spoil the fun/damage scenery’ room. [<- I don’t get it but maybe it is different from the rest of the other rooms] Shun angrily protested about her going in his room as she pleases. Narumi giggled and confessed that she actually came today to see him. “Before when we group together [as classmates] to work on our assignments here, I have noticed you and I really like you. Your parents are at work today and Kanan went out on a date. I know that you are all alone in the house.” While wide-eyed Shun looked at her, Narumi held his hand and put it on her chest. She seductively said, “Hey, you haven’t done it with a girl, right? Since you’re already in your second year junior high already, I can teach you.”

Teary eyed Saaya hugs expressionless Shun tightly. Then, Shun pushes her away and tells her not to be like that. “I’ve obviously been doing my best [as if my life depended on it] to forget about you. Do not make me remember the past. You really infuriate me.” Flustered Saaya tells him that she also wanted to forget but regarding Yuki, it seems that in the end, it is still-- Shun angrily shouts for her not to say it anymore. “Since you don’t plan on breaking up with Yuki, then don’t say these kind of things ever again.” Flustered Saaya is taken aback by that. Shun then asks her why they cannot break up for she never explained it to him and he always wasn’t able to understand it. “But, the relationship between the two of you has already surpassed love, since it is more like the two of you mutually needed each other. During the time you collapsed, I finally came to understand this a bit. So, I won’t ever say anything again about the two of you breaking up. Only, allow the other party to occasionally handle it playfully. [= not too sure but I guess for them not don’t meddle too much] Even if it nothing to you guys, but [it] can hurt other people, please remember that a bit.” Flustered-sad Saaya apologizes. Shun says, “I had really planned on becoming serious about going steady with Kaneshiro, and about the thing between us, I’ll treat it as if it never happened. [Ouch]” Saaya is flustered and teary-eyed again. Shun tells her to return to the clubroom since everyone is worried. Saaya says no because in this situation, she cannot go back. She tells him that she’ll go wash her face first and after some time, she’ll head back alone. She asks him to help give some alibi [why she didn’t go back]. Shun agrees and shouts for her to quickly come back. Shun just looks at Saaya as she walks away.

Chitose is all dressed up to go to school. Her brother enters her room and asks if she can go to school now. Chitose says that she is okay now. She comments that he woke up quite early. Tadashi says that he didn’t slept all night because he had a lot of work. He plans to drink some tea before going to sleep. In the kitchen, Tadashi wonders what kind of tea he’ll drink. He then notices that Chitose is looking towards him that he asks what it is. Chitose tells him that when she went out yesterday, she met Yuki then they played in the snow. She also tells him that Yuki suddenly hugged her from behind and told her not to go steady with Shun. Chitose says that Yuki would later on tell her to forget about it. She asks her brother what is the meaning of what Yuki did. While thinking that is the reason why she had a fever, Tadashi laughs it off and says that it is inevitable. Tadashi explains that guys are selfish because guys would really be happy if someone, no matter who they are, confesses their love. “Guys would want that person to always like them even if one already has a girlfriend and even if one doesn’t have plans to go steady with the girl who confessed. Yuki-kun should feel better to see that you already have a boyfriend and yet, he might also feel a bit lost. Therefore, he unconsciously said those things. I think that there shouldn’t be any deep meaning in it. Do not mind it.” Chitose says, really. While he is about to drink his hot tea, Tadashi says, “But, it could also be that Yuki-kun likes you more than he likes his own girlfriend..” He looks at the side and notices that Chitose has already left. Walking out of the house, Chitose thinks that her brother is right because Yuki cannot like her even if she cannot help but be very happy over him hugging her, holding her hands and giving her that snow globe. She shouldn’t take it seriously. She also thinks that going steady with Shun is unexpectedly fun, too, even if he is lewd that it can be quite troublesome for her.
