Faster Than A Kiss [Chapter 49]

Originally posted @ tatsukida.pitas.com on November 16, 2011

K[azuma’s] father asks Sasa about the data regarding Kazuma’s social interactions for didn’t he investigate on Kazuma before, and surely, he [Sasa] is still continuing that. Sasa says that is true and why he wants it all of a sudden. K father says that it is because he is a bit interested. Later in school, at the corridor, Fumino tells Kazuma that she won’t be going into a short term college but would take the exam into a four year system university. She timidly asks if she can because even if she wants to fully use the remainder of their parents’ money for Teppei, but right now, she has this kind of thought. Kazuma says that it is okay because he believes that investing in the future is very important. He commends her that since summer, she has been keeping her grades up and she should continue that. Fumino is delighted to hear that. Then, Kazuma asks if she had found something concrete that she would want to do as a profession. This made Fumino blush really red. She then says, “That.. being an ‘English teacher’, does it suit me?” This made Kazuma blush, too. Then, Fumino’s friends ask if Fumino confessed. Kazuma lied that she did while Fumino exclaims that she only said about wanting to become a teacher. Kazuma gives her a form and tells her that if she really has that intention, then she should formally mention it in the application. Then, he whispers to her, “Let’s talk about the concrete details later on.” While Fumino feels faint over that, Kazuma goes to talk with someone else. Later on, Fumino walks home with Teppei. Reading a magazine, Fumino thinks that the entrance exams to the university is very near, and finally, she has a concrete idea on what to do afterwards. While she is wondering if she can go national or public [university], they were met by Sasa. As Teppei happily goes to him to be carried up, Sasa tells Fumino that it is okay for Teppei to do that, and it has been a long time. Fumino tells him that Kazuma will be coming home late. Fumino is surprised when Sasa mentioned that she met with Kazuma’s father a few days ago. Fumino looks down and remembers when K father coldly said that he doesn’t know Kazuma, his own son. Sasa mentions that Kazuma was there at that time so things had become problematic. To her surprise, Sasa tells her that K father knows about their relationship and that they are living together. “His father wants to straightforwardly talk with you and afterwards, decide on the aftermath. This coming weekend, please you come to Ojiro residence.” Fumino is freaking out for it seems scary.

After school, Fumino went to fetch Teppei. On the way to the library, she got a phone call from Meg who asked her to save her. Fumino asks her what happened. Meg just tells her that she cannot talk much, just quickly hurry else she’ll die. This made Fumino freak out but upon seeing Meg, she turns out to be fine. Teary-eyed Meg exclaims that she has been waiting for her. While Meg is pulling her inside, Fumino asks her what she is doing in this stylist hotel and isn’t it expensive. Meg tells her that she cannot handle it on her own. To Fumino’s surprise, she finds a crying baby inside the room. Meg tearfully asks how to make the baby stop crying when she guaranteed Shoma’s mother [that it will be okay]. Fumino exclaims if this baby is Shoma’s baby sister. Meg says yes, and her name is Miru. Fumino asks why she is all alone with the baby. Meg tells her that the parents went to a party in this hotel and she thought that within two hours, it ought to be alright to babysit Miru. Unfortunately, it is only 10 minutes and she cannot handle it anymore. Touching the baby, Fumino asks if she is hungry. Meg tells her that she was just fed by Emma. Fumino says that maybe it is time to change the diaper. Meg quickly carries to her a huge bag that Emma brought. Fumino tells her to give her a diaper and wet tissue for wiping. While helping, Fumino is worried for today Kazuma is coming home early since they plan to have hot pot but now, she has no way of preparing it. Meanwhile, Kazuma is surprised to see Shoma sleeping in class. Kazuma pokes him and calls out his name. This startles Shoma. Kazuma tells him that he’ll catch a cold so he should go home and sleep. Shoma exclaims what time is it. His brother says that it is 5:30pm. Aghast, Shoma mutters that he had promised [to go] and he will be scolded. Kazuma smiles and says that it seems that he is very tired, didn’t he get enough sleep. Kazuma is surprised when Shoma tells him that it is because of their baby sister who kept on crying at night that he has no way of sleeping. Slightly covering his face with a book, Kazuma asks him if she is okay..he is a bit worried. Shoma tells him to go see her by going to their house. Kazuma promptly answers, no way. Shoma tells him that he is just kidding. He says that if it is today, he estimates that Kazuma can see her but only for a short while.

And, it is already time for third year high school student, Kaji Fumino to face the exam seasons that comes out after another in succession but..today is a rest day because she went with Teppei to kindergarten swimming lesson. Fumino praises Teppei on how good and fast he learned to swim. Ryuu asks Fumino why she is wearing her school’s swimsuit uniform. The mothers are swimming together with their kids and how come she isn’t wearing the swimsuit they prepared for her. Fumino angrily tells him how she could wear those swimsuits. She says that those are used for vacations and are quite exposed = two piece swim suits/bikinis. Ryuu teases her by saying that she already wore them, showing it to Kazuma. Blushing and pouting Fumino thinks that of course, he had seen it, and he had that kind of reaction. Flashback: While Fumino is wearing a bikini, Kazuma is hugging her tightly. He screamed that he couldn’t bear it, she’s so cute. “I don’t want to you to be seen by some other guy! Don’t go anymore!” Fumino angrily asked him what he is talking about. End flashback. Fumino thinks that they are already quite close, isn’t it enough. While playing with some kids, Ryuu asks her where Kazuma is. Fumino tells him that he’ll come later on because it seems that he is still preparing their bento box. Fumino remembers Kazuma telling her that it isn’t good for the body to be always studying so occasionally, how about they go out and eat. She thinks that as a teacher, Kazuma is very caring towards her, and as a husband, he is very considerate. She feels that she should also do her best in learning how to cook. Teppei tells Fumino that he wants to pee. Fumino accompanies him. While walking, Fumino warns Teppei not to run there because it is slippery. As she is still explaining it to Teppei, Fumino is shock to see someone falling towards her. After a lot of screaming, Fumino catches the woman and tells Teppei that this will happen if he runs. The woman apologizes and thanks Fumino for saving her. After a while, Fumino recognizes her as Shoma’s mother. As Teppei goes to take a pee on his own, Shoma’s mother tells her that she had just finished her pregnant woman swimming class. Fumino angrily scolds her to be careful for right now, she is heavy with child. Later on, Fumino and others have already dressed up. While Fumino is drying up Teppei’s hair with a towel, Shoma’s mother says that they haven’t met since summer and is her name Kaji Fumino. Fumino asks how she knew about it. Shoma’s mother tells her that Meg told her, and her relationship with Shoma is pretty good. While Shoma’s mother is talking with Teppei to learn his name, Fumino realizes that Meg didn’t tell Shoma’s mother about her relationship with Kazuma, and it is a secret that she didn’t mention it.

Shoma is shock when scantily clad Fumino tells him that she actually likes him. Backing away, Shoma asks what she is saying and what about his brother. Fumino asks him if he hates her..well, she always liked him more than sensei.. Then, Fumino attacks him. Soon, Shoma wakes up to reality from the alarm. It was just a dream. Shoma mutters that this is really bad. After the cultural festival, as a third year student, it is time to prepare for the exams. Fumino is reading a book while eating breakfast that Kazuma and Teppei tells her not to do that. Fumino apologizes. Kazuma says that even if he is happy that she is studying but she should properly eat to get her stamina up. She and Kazuma had become busy lately. Putting on his coat, Kazuma tells Fumino that he will be going to school first so can she help him tidy things up. Giving him his bag, Fumino says okay, and be careful. Kazuma says yes. He pauses, and then he takes the bag from her. Fumino notices that he blushes, before he kisses her forehead. After Kazuma said that he is leaving, Fumino thinks that lately, Kazuma has become shy when he’s in front of her. Before, he would just instantly squeeze her and say that he’s going now, so how about a kiss. Reading a book while walking to school, Fumino thinks that she couldn’t get used to it now since it makes her really embarrassed. Then, there is a loud squealing of girls. They are raving over the arrival of Shoma who looks better in personal than in the pictures. After the cultural festival ended, the rumors, about Shoma acting as the cafe butler, have spread so everyday, it is lively because of the girls from other school who want to see him. Like before, Shoma will darkly tell them to get lost. Shoma’s freezing power has reached level 5. Meg tells Fumino that Shoma’s mood had been very bad since this morning. Fumino agrees with this. Shoma stops walking when Fumino greets him a good morning. Shoma blushes that it made the other girl wonder who Fumino is, that made Shoma react like that. Shoma starts slapping his face then he has an idea. While Lao and Kazuma are guarding the gate, Shoma calls out to the girls and pulls Fumino to him. He tells them that he is going steady with this girl so if it is okay, can they just go their way. Everyone is shock but Lao breaks the crowd by shouting, which students are they from and won’t they be late for school. Fumino is freaking out over that lie.

Faster Than A Kiss [Chapter 45]

And, after the long summer vacation, the second school term starts. And in every year of a high schooler’s life, it is finally the last Panda High’s Cultural Festival. In the classroom, Fumino fiercely exclaims her ‘Welcome!’ to the customers. Her friends say that she is doing it way over-the-top and it should be ‘Welcome, master♡’ The others tell her not to be embarrassed, and her outfit suits her. Fumino blushes and tells them that they are too noisy. Section 3-C is doing a maid cafe. After going around and advertising their store, Kazuma peeks in the room and asks how they are doing. He is wearing a placard on his body about their store. He is delighted to know that they have a lot of customers. Fumino’s friends tell him that is true because there are a lot of cute maids serving the customers. Sayo notices that Fumino is hiding behind them. She pushes Fumino out and tells Kazuma to look, Fumino looks really cute. Fumino blushes over this as she calls out to what Sayo is doing. She blushes even redder when Kazuma smiles and says that it really suits her. Her friends gush over how cute Fumino is to be blushing upon letting Kazuma see her in a maid uniform. Fumino mentally tells them that it isn’t so because she had wore an even more daring maid uniform at home. And, before she left for school, Kazuma made her attend to him by feeding him some strawberries. So, when she thought of that, it made her blush and she angrily kicks Kazuma’s butt. Ken asks Kazuma if he has seen section B’s store. Since they are ‘neighbors’, they have become rivals. Fumino and others look out to see a long line at section B’s butler cafe. As one of the male cooks, Ken says that even if their customers are different but their menu should be more or less the same. While they were wondering why section B is popular, they hear a loud scream. It turns out that a lot of their customers are Shoma’s fangirls. Kazuma smiles and says that Shoma is quite popular. They tell him that this isn’t the time to smile. Kazuma decides to go out again to advertise their store again. Ken gives him a bowl of food for the customers’ free taste of their food. Kazuma likes that idea. After he left, Fumino remembers that in the last year’s cultural festival, she first met Shoma and their relationship in those days is not that special, and she doesn’t know anything about Kazuma. While helping in the kitchen, Fumino thinks that she couldn’t see him because Kazuma is in charge of going out and advertise their store. She wonders if she is too willful to think of wanting to spend it together with Kazuma, her last cultural festival.

The elder Sasa is smiling. He tells Kazuma to become an amazing person just like his father and he [Sasa] really, eagerly anticipate that day. Narration: “‘It would be nice if Sasa is my father’. How many times did I want to say those words but it stops in my lips because Sasa as a ‘secretary’ cannot change his position but I still..” At the hospital, the doctor tells the worried group led by Fumino that Kazuma only lack sleep so he collapsed. Even if he has a slight fever, but Kazuma is very healthy. The doctor wants Kazuma to be confined for a day since he would want to examine that foot. Ryuu tells the doctor that they’ll leave it up to him. Teppei asks the doctor if Kazuma is alright. The doctor assures him that he is fine. Fumino sits on the floor in relief. Shoma tartly tells Fumino that she is living together with Kazuma so how could she be that unconcerned [/didn’t notice] about Kazuma’s health that he wasn’t sleeping properly. Meg tells Shoma not to say it that way for it isn’t a grave illness and wasn’t he also very worried that he insisted on going to this hospital which he is familiar with. Embarrassed Shoma tells her to shut up. Then, Fumino sees the younger Sasa walking at the hallway. She calls him as Akio-san. This surprises Akio that he asks her how she knew his name. Fumino bows to him and thanks him for saving them earlier. She tells him that Kazuma has told her regarding the past. Akio offers to drive her home to get the things that young master Kazuma will need at the hospital. Fumino tells the others that she’ll leave for a while. Teppei and Ryuu bid her goodbye. Shoma is saying that for Fumino to sit in Sasa’s car, would she be coming back. Meg teases him for being worried. While sitting in the car that Akio is driving, Fumino thinks about Kazuma being called ‘young master and Akio is quite modest, compared to the Akio that she heard from Kazuma. Akio asks her how much she knows about Kazuma’s past. Fumino tells her that it is the time when Kazuma is in kindergarten and also because of Sasa-san, Akio’s father, Kazuma finally knew what is ‘loneliness’ is. Fumino[/Akio] thinks that it is such a sad yet warm part of Kazuma’s life.

Soon, Shoma comments that it is starting to rain. Teppei offers an umbrella to Meg and tells her that a girl shouldn’t get wet by rain. Meg gushes over Teppei being such a good boy. Ryuu says that they couldn’t find Fumino and Kazuma and it has been some time since Kazuma left. He wonders out loud if he is worrying too much. Shoma says maybe though he is more worried about the bear. Anyway, they should wait for a while before continuing the search. Meanwhile, below the cliff, Kazuma is hugging Fumino then asks if it is already raining. He comments that probably the trees are sheltering them so that this place isn’t getting wet. Fumino suddenly sneezes. After she apologizes, Fumino starts to tell him about the letter and the picture. Fumino looks surprised when Kazuma takes off his shirt and puts it on her. When Fumino is shouting why he stripped, Kazuma hugs her and says that in this way, she won’t be cold and body warmth is the best. Fumino protests that he’ll be cold. Kazuma tells her that he won’t be cold, as long as Fumino hug him tightly. Blushing Fumino just mutters that he is acting the good guy. She gives up and just tells him not to get sick. Holding up the letter and the photo, Fumino tells him to quickly tell her about it. Kazuma is surprised that she brought it. After coughing, Kazuma tells her that the younger guy on the right is the guy a while ago, Secretary Sasa. Then, the other one is Sasa’s father and of course, the young boy is him. He lived for four years at Sasa’s place when he was four years old. This surprises Fumino that she asks, wasn’t he a secretary. Kazuma says yes. It wasn’t long after he was born, his mother passed away. He is then brought to Ojiro family be taken care of there but, when he was a child, he is heavily spoiled that it had an effect on his system of values and his head started to inflate. Surrounded with gifts and toys, they will tell young Kazuma that he is the family’s future heir and he is their clan’s pride. He doesn’t have to do anything for whatever he wants, it is okay for him to just order it. His orders are like a master’s. And so, after four years, given such an authority, he grew up to become a little monster. Surrounded with sweets and a 100% sparkling orange drink, Kazuma exclaims that his orders should absolutely be obeyed and if anyone dares not obey him, his father will teach that person a lesson because after all, he is the future head of the Ojiro family. End flashback.

Fumino thinks that the letter written to Kazuma is about the problem of the Kaji family. Kazuma tells her that this letter is written by their family’s secretary, Sasa. If he is to explain its contents, he would have to go through a lot of other things in the past which he doesn’t have the courage to tell her right now, so he’ll give her a picture first. He asks her to wait for him and he’ll definitely tell her. The picture is of a young Kazuma smiling with an older man and teen/20s guy. After Fumino took that picture, she didn’t ask Kazuma anymore questions. Soon, it has been three days since that day. Fumino and Teppei wake up to see Kazuma all dressed up. He is going to school for the extra lessons of the first and second year students. [It is summer so it is like summer class.] Fumino pouts and tells him that he should have waked her up earlier. Kazuma says that she studied until very late at night so she should properly sleep. Fumino tells surprised Kazuma that he is wearing his necktie wrong [in the opposite way]. While Kazuma fixes it, Fumino wonders if he is avoiding her since he is going out early and going home late these past three days. Aside from that, he is always lost in thought. Kazuma then happily turns to her and tells her that he almost forgot. He kisses her on the forehead and says, “I’m going to work, honey..” Kazuma bids them goodbye and Fumino pretty much swoon over that. Fumino wonders how long he is going to make her wait.
