Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 78] -Fin-

Flashback: At a nursery school, a couple of girls invited young Mamura to play ‘play house’ with them. Thinking that it is boring to death, Mamura refused. The disappointed girl started to cry and called him mean. The teacher came in and asked what happened. Pointing to Mamura, the girl’s friend told the teacher that he made her friend cry. Mamura is surprised that the teacher is reprimanding him for it. Mamura thought that he didn’t do anything wrong, and this girl is just pretending to cry. Narration: “Ever since before, I’m not good in dealing with these living creatures called girls.” Later on, the teacher said that sky is very dark. She told Mamura to be good and wait some more for the one who is going to fetch him. Mamura watched the TV of the cartoon character who said that he’ll do things alone, and look at his instant attack. Then, his mother arrived. She apologized for coming late. While bored Mamura held a stick, his mother gave him a cartoon character toy which he watched earlier. It is her apology for always fetching him late. Mamura hugged the toy tight. She asked him if he’s happy when it is rare to see him this happy.

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 77]

[Free talk: Apparently, the Chinese scanlators changed their mind and decided to release this. According to them, ‘so that there will be a build-up of emotions before the finale’. ^^; I’ll reply to the tags and comments tomorrow..hopefully..I’m having a mild cold/flu orz]

After Shishio looks surprised to see Suzume, Tsubomi excuses herself by saying that she wants to go to the ophthalmology department. Then, she drags Yukichi along with her. Suzume is puzzled about this but Shishio tells her to let them be. He suggests that they go find a place to talk. Outside, Yukichi tells Tsubomi that he knows already so let go. She apologizes. He tells her that he is prepared to give them space to let them properly talk. Tsubomi doesn’t quite believe him. He admits that he created a very crucial reason that made them unable to be together and he is apologetic to them for this. Tsubomi comments he is doing a serious reflection on the wall so who’ll know of his feelings. Back to the two, Shishio gives Suzume a drink. She asks him about his injury. He tells her about the bottle falling down but when he went to grab it, Yukichi tried to avoid it by moving up his elbow which hit Shishio’s glasses and ends up injuring his forehead. And at that time, Yukichi is totally freaking out about a small injury. Then, Shishio asks her why she came back, could it be that she’s worried about him upon hearing that he is in the hospital.

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 76]

While it is being announced that the dolphin show is about to start at 1pm, Suzume cluelessly asks to Mamura, “Go, refers to?” Mamura says that since she doesn’t know, he’ll directly tell her. “You still like him, right.” After looking surprised, Suzume denies it even if her heart skipped a beat. Mamura says if it isn’t so, then how come she didn’t let Shishio finish what he is saying in the clinic. He tells surprised Suzume that during the sports festival, he heard that her foot got injured so he went to the clinic. He had carelessly overheard them talking. Suzume becomes nervous for Mamura has heard all of it. Suzume looks away and says that it is because that thing with Shishio is already over. Mamura holds her face towards him and shouts, “It is totally not over, right! You obviously didn’t forget him for a single second. What are you trying to show off for [/acting strong]!! Do not run away! Don’t let it be over! You have to properly go and face him!! For the current you, there is something that you must ponder on!! *Suzume looks flustered* Quickly go!!”

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 75]

Last four chapters!! Suzume tries to get a good glance at the guy who looks like Shishio. Her eyes widen for it seems to be him. Then, Mamura calls out to her and asks why she is standing lost in thought there. She apologizes and says that there’s just a bit of something. She glances back again and realizes that it is a totally different person. Realizing that she was mistaken, she tells him that it is nothing, sorry, let’s go. Then, Mamura notices the guy who looks like Shishio by the aquarium tank. Meanwhile, Shishio goes in Yukichi’s place. Thinking that it is a customer, Yukichi apologizes and says that he is still preparing. He looks serious upon seeing Shishio. He asks Shishio why he came. Shishio says that it has been a long time since he came, and he specially came to eat the food Yukichi makes. Looking away, Yukichi says that it isn’t business hours yet so go out first. While Yukichi is at the bar, Shishio tells him that in the end, he still likes her. He has already prepared himself so he came here. Yukichi grabs his collar and angrily asks if he’s joking around, for after everything that has happened, what he is saying.

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 74]

Because Mamura seemed mature when he asked her out, Suzume couldn’t help but answer, ‘okay’. In the toilet, Mamura fixed his hair thrice but was interrupted by Kotetsu who wants to brush his teeth. Mamura tells him that he’ll be out in a while. Mamura sighs and rumples his hair back to its usual style. He blushes upon recalling how Suzume invited him to go to Okinawa. He thinks that if he doesn’t pull himself together... In the toilet, Suzume also fixes her hair thrice but isn’t satisfied with any since she finds them too casual. She finds it difficult to choose which hairstyle she’ll wear today. Yuyuka angrily asks if she isn’t finished yet and is she going to continue with that way of dressing up. Suzume gloomily says that she has a hard time choosing the hairstyle. Yuyuka angrily shouts in frustration and offers to do it for her. She also called Nana and Monika to help her out so that it would be settled within 10 minutes. At the hotel’s lounge, Mamura is waiting by the post when Suzume arrives while catching her breath. With her hair loosely braided, Suzume apologizes for being late and says that it is because she couldn’t fix her hair well.

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 73]

Sky!! Sea!! Shisa!! [lion-dog creatures that are usually statues found in Okinawa] The three girls happily shouts, “OKINAWA~~~♫♪☆” Embarrassed Yuyuka tells them not to be like that for it is embarrassing. And so, they have arrived in Okinawa. The instructor tells them that after visting Shuri Castle, they will go to Manza Beach. He reminds everyone to pay attention to safety and do not wander off. Along with the others, Kotetsu happily says yes. While Mamura is looking at Kotetsu, Manabu comments that Kotetsu is quite lively. Then, Mamura notices Suzume happily flashing v-signs. Mamura thinks that she is really excited. And that’s right, Suzume is in excited mode, very excited. Dreaming of Shisa-s, Suzume thinks that the sky is so blue, the sea is quite beautiful and hibiscus flowers have also opened. <- the first time she saw it. Coming to Okinawa is really quite delightful..!! At the Shuri Castle, Suzume and Nana were exclaiming about how red, bright red it is. Inside, Suzume goes ‘wow’ all over the place. Yuyuka scolds her that it is one thing for her to be quite excited, but what’s up with that outfit. She asks where are the clothes that they bought together (actually forced her to buy) and weren’t those casual clothes. Suzume tells her that she thought that it would be inconvenient to move around wearing those clothes.

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 72]

Sports festival and exams have ended. And, Suzume’s feelings are still not sorted out yet. And, before she knew it, summer vacation has started. Holding up a flyer about a 4 days and 3 nights school excursion to Okinawa, Nana happily tells everyone that they all go to this place. Looking at a different flyer, Yuyuka asks if this is the school excursion that will be held during summer vacation. Nana exclaims yes, and if summer is mentioned, it definitely means the sea and if sea is mentioned, it definitely means Okinawa! Sata An~da~gi! [<-sweet deep fried buns of dough similar to doughnuts (or the Portuguese malasada, or the Dutch oliebollen), native to the Japanese prefecture of Okinawa. Source: wiki] Someone asks isn’t that a snack. The others pessimistically respond to the invitation. Monika says that no one wants to sign up for it. Suzume is very scared of airplanes. Yuyuka doesn’t want to be sunburned. Nana scoffs them off as naïve children. She explains that it is because there are few people joining, there would be more mood for those who go with their lovers and added to that, there are so many delicious things in Okinawa. “Those are Okinawa’s selling point!”

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 71]

While Suzume’s left foot is hurting, Shishio casually comments over how unbelievable it is for her vigorous appetite to unexpectedly cause her to sprain her foot. She says that even if he were to say that, she also.. He tells her to not be easy-going during a match. She mentions that the bread is a famous Kari melonpan. He says that her eyes are sharp and it could be said that is her real motive. While Suzume is thinking that it is cool <- she is bandaged for the first time, he says that compared to not eating happily, this [<- eating a lot] is actually not quite bad. While Shishio is looking for something in the medicine tables, Suzume wonders how come after everything that has happened between them, they can still talk like how they used to. How come, at that time, their interaction isn’t the same as it is now? Suzume asks him how come he joined the competition when obviously he basically won’t join this kind of activity. He tells her that he is substituting for another teacher and even if that is the reason, but he also thought that through participating in this competition, he can change himself. Suzume is puzzled. He continues to say that after this competition, he plans to properly convey his feelings to her, and even if he said that, he lost the relay. He turns to look at her. He says that everyday, he regrets it because he wasn’t able to say his feelings so even if it is very willful of him, but he still wants to ask her to please listen to him until the end. Suzume looks surprised. To his surprise, she looks down and says that she couldn’t do it. “I don’t want to listen so please, don’t say anything more.” Shishio respects her wish and says okay, he understands, sorry. While Suzume felt stabbing pain on her foot, Shishio says that he’s going ahead and even if he bandaged her foot well for now, but she should get it checked at the hospital. He lightly pats her head and says goodbye. After he left, Suzume thinks that compared to that, her left chest feels heavier and it hurts so much. As Shishio leaves, the Mamura is just sitting by the hallway at the opposite direction. Mamura looks at the head band and realizes that the drawing is a horse. Narration: “Words that weren’t mentioned. Feelings not received. Pain. Heaviness. Condensed into lead and carrying me down the abyss.”

Hibi Ryuusei and Hirunaka no Chouchou

[Free talk: These are two side stories collaboration between the mangakas of Hirunaka No Ryuusei and Hibi Chouchou. This was actually last month’s ^^;; Since I’m going to do HC next, these side stories might be a good ‘in between’ ^^]

Hibi Ryuusei is just a reverse wherein Suiren is the lead of HnR and Suzume is the lead of HC. Briefly, Suzume enters school and makes an impression of loving food since she brought lots of onigiri to school. She manages to easily make friends. She meets Kawasumi and offers him onigiri. A hoodlum type of guy messes up with Suzume’s onigiri-s. Kawasumi and Ryosuke intervene and Suzume helps them beat the guy up. In the end, she joins the karate club with them with hopes that Kawasumi and Suzume enter the Nationals =P And that is the start of her high school’s sport life.. Meanwhile, Shishio tries to pick up Suiren but he frightens her off. She feels nervous over how seatmate Mamura is glaring at her. She finds high school scary. She writes a letter to Aya about it being two days since entering high school. Her uncle Yukichi calls out to her that the melon pans are done. While eating the bread, Suiren thinks that just by looking at Yukichi, she feels at ease and that is the start of the forbidden love.. =P

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 69]

And the results of the borrowers’ race are being announced. Togyuu, with Yuyuka, is in the last place. Looking at her hand that is being held by Togyuu, she asks why it has to be her even if it doesn’t matter to her. He tells her that it is because she has always been avoiding him lately. When Yuyuka tries to explain, he interrupts by saying that most likely it is because she wants to think clearly whether her feelings for him is ‘hate’ or that feeling that is totally opposite of that. Meanwhile, Suzume is running around and finally finds Mamura who is getting ready for his relay race. She calls out to him that he asks what it is, all of a sudden. She holds up the head band and says that it is for him. She tells him that she made it for him, she always forget to give it to him. She says that even if it isn’t well-made and he’s okay with it, take it. She thinks that this is something that she solely made for him so she wants to personally give it to him. Mamura suddenly hugs her and mutters, “I won’t easily let you go.” His friends are reacting over the public display of affection on broad daylight. Mamura grabs the head band and says that he’ll go, and then come back. Suzume was surprised by that and she recalls herself telling him not to leave her. As the relay race contestants are called to gather, Shishio is watching them. Back to the Yuyuka, she asks how come Togyuu wants to know. He says that he only wants to know. Yuyuka tells him not to think that she’ll just tell him because he asked and she has no obligation to tell him. Togyuu tries to feel her out by asking if it is the opposite of hate and it means that, if she doesn’t say. As she protests, Togyuu calmly asks if she hates him after knowing that he’s poor or she already likes someone else.

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 68]

And the girls except for Yuyuka are cheering on about the sports meet starting!!! Nana asks Yuyuka why she’s so gloomy. Yuyuka complains what’s fun about the sports meet when they would get sunburned, and be covered in dust. Monika says that she agrees with her but just look at Suzume who is all enthusiastic. Suzume offers her friends some sports drink and honey lemon that her uncle made. Nana starts shouting about wanting to bring it home since Yukichi made it. Monika tells her that for her to do that, there is no difference between her and a stalker. While holding two bottles of sports drink, Suzume sees Mamura. She offers him the drink and asks if he is going to join the kibasen [/cavalry battle]. Mamura declines. Then, she offers him some salt candy. [<- salt seems to help prevent heat stroke.] He remarks if she has a 4D pocket. In the end, Mamura took the sports drink. She is about to give him the head band but instead, she exclaims that she got lots of bento food. Mamura just says is that so. Yuyuka watches Suzume repeats that there is a lot of food to Mamura who says that there’s no need to mention it twice. Then, the principal[?] is making his speech, Yuyuka tells Suzume that it is painful to watch her pretending that she is alright and like this, Mamura had earlier on noticed it, right? Suzume admits that she might be pretending to be alright but because this is a rare sports meet so she has decided to forget those things and properly concentrate here. She thinks that it is a waste if she didn’t properly enjoy this. Soon, Nana is cheering their male kibasen team. Yuyuka wonders how come Inukai is sitting above and Monika is embarrassed to watch him half-naked. Suzume is eagerly cheering Inukai on and accidentally hits Togyuu. After she apologizes, he says that it is okay. After some greetings, Togyuu greets Yuyuka and asks them what competition they joined so that he can cheer for them. Suzume says that she joined the bread eating contest and Yuyuka joined the tug-of-war.. Yuyuka tells him that there’s no need to cheer and they’re going to the toilet. Suzume says that they are still cheering for the kibasen but Yuyuka insists on going to the toilet. So Suzume bids Togyuu goodbye and rushes to catch up to Yuyuka. Suzume wonders what’s up with Yuyuka when she notices her blushing.

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 67]

At the roof, Shishio tells Suzume the real reason why he hugged her. She accuses him of lying and how could he say such a lie after everything. He tries to explain but she tells him that she had decided at that time that he doesn’t like her but now, he is saying this. Shishio says that he’s telling the truth. She tells him enough. She quickly goes down and says that after everything, she doesn’t want to believe those words again. She left and later told Yuyuka about it at the toilet. Obviously, Yuyuka is angry about this. Suzume starts talking about this being cunning and mean that she totally doesn’t know what he is thinking so it is really great that it ended at that time and Yuyuka ought to also think so, too. Yuyuka tells her to stop, is she telling that to her or telling that to herself. Yuyuka says that even if she knows that right now, she is confused but for her to say those words is simply like she is telling it to herself. Suzume couldn’t reply back and just says that she didn’t know why Shishio would say these words at this time. Recalling Shishios’ reaction, Yuyuka just says that perhaps, he also has a secret[/things that are hard to say]. Yuyuka slaps Suzume’s back and reminds her that right now, Mamura is her boyfriend so don’t worry about unnecessary things. After reminding herself that she already decided to choose Mamura, she calls out to him at the hallway and asks if they can go home together. Soon, the two are walking together. Reminding herself not to be confused, Suzume is telling Mamura that the sports festival is already tomorrow and would he be joining the relay. He says ya. She starts telling him that her uncle will bring bento and it would be nice if it is a clear day tomorrow.

Someone requested for HnR comments and it is too ‘empty’ if it is only one so I put in comments for the big three of WSJ, too. For Kobayashi 35, probably next week or I might lump the summary up with the new chapter since I’m still looking for some enthusiasm for me to do that one Hehe, hopefully in the next chapter, he'll beat up that guy for making his girl do that =P

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 61]

Mamura’s father has made a lot of burnt French Toasts. He tries again and thinks that this is harder than he thought. He hopes that Daichi would be happy for he always said that he wants to eat it. He hears the door bell and looks at the clock. It is 6:30am. He wonders who it is but then, he cannot just leave his cooking. Upon hearing Mamura coming down to open the door, he is relieved that he is already up. Outside, Mamura is speechless over Suzume who is catching her breath. He asks her what it is. Suzume tells him that she is going to give him the answer. He asks right now. She says yes, right now. After scratching his head, Mamura says okay, he’ll listen to it. She tells him that honestly, what she feels with him is different when she is with Shishio. When she is with Shishio, no matter what she wants to stay at his side as if her life depended on it. She is always uneasy and her heart would beat continuously. Even if she is very happy but at the same time, there are a lot of unknown [cannot understand] and painful things. With Mamura, it felt like it is ‘inevitable’ [/as it should be]. She can tell him what she wanted to say. She can properly convey her feelings to him. When they are together, her feelings are quite calm and when she is in pain, it helped a lot that he is there at her side. “-But, whether this is called love nor not, honestly, I do not know. –I’m sorry.” Looking away, Mamura says is that so. Suzume continues to say, “So, so I’m saying that is what the last night me was thinking. What’s next is the thoughts of the current me.” Mamura goes huh. Suzume tells him that when she properly thinks about it, it is a mistake to compare the times when she is with Shishio and the times when she is with Mamura because it is abnormal to have the same feelings for the person she is facing when they are totally different persons. Furthermore, even if she rejects him [Mamura] now, she also knows that she and the past won’t change. And the former her who always loves Shishio-whatever, nothing would change. Although she says that, her feelings are also still not quite clear and perhaps, she is taking advantage of his [Mamura] feelings. Even if this is her opinionated statement, she will give her all-out effort on him.

Free Talk: Blog Stuff

To those who are asking for Hirunaka No Ryuusei’s side story about Manabu and Monika. I probably won’t be doing it since there are still some series that I have to summarize and the 5th is coming soon. A lot of manga that were on a break are coming out. Just wait for the English scanlations for the side story or maybe, bug them about it. =P

Regarding HnR, I’ll probably do it like what I did with Skip Beat before. If there is already a translation or summary in BxS manga@tumblr before the Chinese scanlation comes out, I would no longer summarize it. Probably just comment on it or nothing at all.That's the tentative decision.

Hirunaka No Ryuusei [Chapter 60]

After looking surprised over Mamura’s confession, Suzume struggles to say something. And, they were interrupted by a female aquarium staff member who apologizes for they are about to close. Thinking that no wonder there are no people around, Suzume timidly tells the woman that they are leaving. Mamura tells Suzume that there’s no need for her to answer immediately now. Suzume says okay. While taking a bath with her rubber duckies and apples, Suzume thinks that this is already the second time Mamura confessed to her. The first time, her brain is only thinking of ‘what to do, how to reject him’ and right now..? Her uncle is shock when Suzume suddenly screams. Suzume thinks that Mamura is a good friend and also the one whom Yuyuka likes, and although it is like this, she doesn’t want to hurt him..what should she do. At the school’s shoe lockers, Suzume greets Yuyuka who is surprised by Suzume’s smooth hair. She tells Yuyuka that it is because she is always thinking in the bathtub that left the conditioner on her hair for an hour. Yuyuka sighs and tells her that Suzume has been trying to conceal something which she couldn’t conceal and anyway, it would be exposed one day so spit it out now. Suzume tries to deny it that Yuyuka angrily threatens her that she won’t let Suzume see her homework throughout her life. This shocks Suzume. Soon, behind the curtains, Suzume tells Yuyuka about it. Yuyuka is surprised by it for they are already at that situation. She asks Suzume if it is because of her apprehension about her [Yuyuka] feelings that she won’t tell her about it. Suzume admits that it is true. Yuyuka calls her an idiot for thinking of such boring[/baffling] things and does she [Suzume] know whom she [Yuyuka] currently likes? Yuyuka asks Suzume what she thinks about this. She urges Suzume to try and say her true feelings. Suzume tells her that when she’s with Mamura, she is very happy and she felt at peace. She is also very happy when he confessed, but-- she couldn’t clearly distinguish if this is ‘friend love’ or ‘lover love’, furthermore, she still hasn’t thoroughly gave up[/move on] from Shishio. Yuyuka asks, what if she goes and like him [Mamura]. She says that today is quite relaxed [fresh and cool], and Suzume basically doesn’t want to tell her about it because it isn’t her problem. Yuyuka tells Suzume that during this time, she shouldn’t listen to other people’s suggestion, and she should carefully think by herself and decide. Because it is love, there is no correct answer and no matter what her answer is, whichever is her choice, that is the right one. Suzume wonders what the right one is.
