Suzume headed straight to her room upon arriving home which puzzled her uncle since she ignored his greetings. She recalls how Shishio hugged her and she told him to please let her go. She tried to push him away but he said no. Then, he snapped out of it and let go. He tried to explain but it seems that Suzume left just as someone came in to say that Shishio is still there. When asked what happened, somewhat flustered Shishio said that it is nothing. End flashback. While eating at a yakitori bar, Shishio couldn’t believe what he did. His thoughts were interrupted when Tsubomi sat beside him. They talk a bit when she asked her how things are going with him and Suzume. He says nothing that she complained over why she would have given him the aquarium tickets. He tells her that he already felt that he is too incompetent in various aspects. Tsubomi says that he finally realized that he is an incompetent guy or rather a useless guy since he is the type who has the tendency to destroy his own romance/love. In short, he doesn’t want to be hurt, and to protect his pride, he would think first of what is the best thing that he should do and perhaps because he procrastinates by himself that it leads to the birth of tragic heroine/s. She asks isn’t he quite like a child being busy over nothing by himself. Shishio couldn’t refute her that he starts to wonder if she came back just to tell him that. Tsubomi advises him that it would be better for him to abandon his pride. At the school’s roof, Suzume is holding the headband and wonders when to give it to Mamura. She starts to wonder why Shishio hugged her. She starts to conclude that he just stumbled for she couldn’t think of any other reason. Shishio comes in which freaks out Suzume that she quickly up the ‘upper roof’. [<- I always don’t know what it is called ^^;; Usually in buildings, it is where stairs/elevator is located.] He accidentally called her Chunchun again. He starts to think of an alibi for yesterday then his thoughts started to flow towards regret over the things that he didn’t properly do for her. Recalling Tsubomi’s advice, he finally confesses to Suzume that he did that because he likes her.
Comment: And, we finally got his confession. Fans on both sides have their mouths open in anticipation...will it be a score for Shishio as he shoots in the ball..would it be in or not? It is now up to the ball. =P Will she still give Mamura that headband or she’ll give him an apology = dump him, instead? From the talk between Shishio and Tsubomi, it reinforces my thoughts that the problem is Shishio and not the uncle as the root cause of what happened. Hehe, actually, as an ex-girlfriend, even if it is to help him out, it must have felt good to point out his flaws for him when he is realizing it. =P As for confessing when the other person already has a boyfriend/girlfriend, I think it is a Japanese thing. I saw this often in shoujo wherein when the popular guy finally had a girlfriend, his fangirls would suddenly come out and start confessing even if they would be rejected. Hm..something like moving on, or hopes that the guy would suddenly dump his girlfriend and go out with them instead? For me, I consider those who already have lovers as ‘no longer available’ though it is also arguable if my love is shallow since I easily give up. ^^; I mean, there are girls/guys who don’t give up even if the other party already has a lover..or even married. ^^;; Anyway, in this case, Shishio has a chance to grab his ‘rightful’ title of ‘male lead’ since Suzume’s feelings for Mamura isn’t deep yet.
