And the girls except for Yuyuka are cheering on about the sports meet starting!!! Nana asks Yuyuka why she’s so gloomy. Yuyuka complains what’s fun about the sports meet when they would get sunburned, and be covered in dust. Monika says that she agrees with her but just look at Suzume who is all enthusiastic. Suzume offers her friends some sports drink and honey lemon that her uncle made. Nana starts shouting about wanting to bring it home since Yukichi made it. Monika tells her that for her to do that, there is no difference between her and a stalker. While holding two bottles of sports drink, Suzume sees Mamura. She offers him the drink and asks if he is going to join the kibasen [/cavalry battle]. Mamura declines. Then, she offers him some salt candy. [<- salt seems to help prevent heat stroke.] He remarks if she has a 4D pocket. In the end, Mamura took the sports drink. She is about to give him the head band but instead, she exclaims that she got lots of bento food. Mamura just says is that so. Yuyuka watches Suzume repeats that there is a lot of food to Mamura who says that there’s no need to mention it twice. Then, the principal[?] is making his speech, Yuyuka tells Suzume that it is painful to watch her pretending that she is alright and like this, Mamura had earlier on noticed it, right? Suzume admits that she might be pretending to be alright but because this is a rare sports meet so she has decided to forget those things and properly concentrate here. She thinks that it is a waste if she didn’t properly enjoy this. Soon, Nana is cheering their male kibasen team. Yuyuka wonders how come Inukai is sitting above and Monika is embarrassed to watch him half-naked. Suzume is eagerly cheering Inukai on and accidentally hits Togyuu. After she apologizes, he says that it is okay. After some greetings, Togyuu greets Yuyuka and asks them what competition they joined so that he can cheer for them. Suzume says that she joined the bread eating contest and Yuyuka joined the tug-of-war.. Yuyuka tells him that there’s no need to cheer and they’re going to the toilet. Suzume says that they are still cheering for the kibasen but Yuyuka insists on going to the toilet. So Suzume bids Togyuu goodbye and rushes to catch up to Yuyuka. Suzume wonders what’s up with Yuyuka when she notices her blushing.
She recalls Yuyuka telling her that she doesn’t know what to do. Suzume realizes that Yuyuka is like what she told her before about not being a bit honest, how tsundere. Meanwhile, there is an announcement for the contestants of the relay race to hand over their application. A guy informs them that year level relay race has no relation to the team and it is only honor[/recognition] for the victor. Mamura register himself and he’s in the last leg of the race. A girl looks surprised and asks why Shishio is here. Shishio tells her that he’ll substitute for a teacher. The girl says that he is also in the last leg of the race. As Shishio registers, Mamura isn’t too happy about this. Soon, it is the male borrower’s race. Togyuu is a participant. After speculating over why he joined the borrowers’ race, the girls wonder what the contestants have to ‘borrow’ [and bring to the finish line to win]. Suzume thinks that it would be a school bento box. They are surprised when Togyuu goes to Yuyuka and asks her to go together with him. Yuyuka goes into shock. She exclaims why. He holds up the paper and it reads ‘girl from red team’. Yuyuka continues to be stubborn and says that there are many other girls from the red team. Togyuu sighs that like always, she is quite cold. A cutie-cutie girl offers to go with them and then some other girls want to go too. Then, they are fighting over it. Togyuu thanks the girls’ good intention but the person he really hopes to go with is Yuyuka, sorry. Then, Suzume shouts for him to wait. She grabs Yuyuka and pushing her towards Togyuu, Suzume says that Yuyuka will go. Yuyuka angrily says that she still hasn’t agreed but Suzume shouts for her to go and even if she doesn’t hate Yuyuka’s stubbornness but right now, she should be a bit honest. If she isn’t honest now, then, in front of whose presence would she be complaining to again in a while. While Yuyuka is stunned by that, Suzume gives her to Togyuu and Togyuu takes her away. Yuyuka shouts for Suzume to wait and in a while, she’s going to sort her out. Suzume just give her a thumbs up and ‘good luck’. The other two girls are amazed at what Suzume was able to do to Yuyuka. Watching Togyuu holding blushing Yuyuka’s hand as they go to the finish line with the other contestants, Suzume thinks that right now, if one isn’t a bit honest, later on, in front of whose presence again would one be regretting to? She holds the head band tight. Nana asks where she is going. Suzume says that she’ll quickly come back and she runs off.
Comment: Yup, we are in a time out from the ‘love triangle competition’ because this is all about Yuyuka and Togyuu, and other not so important stuff. =P True to her name, Yuyuka is being ‘stubborn’ and ‘playing hard to get’ like a cat. Nothing would have happened if Suzume didn’t give her that push. In a way, because of that, it seems to have made up Suzume’s mind. To give or not to give the head band..but since it is about regretting and be honest, ah..is it telling Mamura about Shishio? She still didn’t know about Shishio joining the relay and they are both on the last leg. Who is she going to cheer for? Since there is a mention of ‘given honor’ for the winner, it makes me wonder if the winner of the race is the guy for Suzume or that ‘honor’ would be the winner’s consolation prize for not winning the girl. ^^;; Anyway, respective teams should just get your pompoms ready if the race starts in the next chapter. Will it be Shishio or will it be Mamura? Who will go home crying? =P Okay, I’m not too sure for this might be dragged on by showing Suzume and the other girls’ competition and it won’t be the relay race in the next chapter. ^^;; And, apparently, Yukichi didn’t attend the sports meet..yet?
