Kono Oto Tomare [Chapter 53 - 1/14]

Chika and others watch on as teary-eyed Satowa and her mother hug each other. Chika notices Kouta sobbing. Then, Kouta immediately rushes out and shouts that this is great, Houdzuki-chan-- He goes to give Satowa a hug.

Aghast Chika tries to go after him as he says, stupid... Hiro rushes out to stop Kouta as Takezou grabs her. Chika and Hiro realize that Satowa and her mother had noticed them. Satowa becomes beet red in embarrassment.

At the lounge, Hiro is reprimanding Kouta over running over at that kind of time. Sobbing Kouta apologizes for he was so happy. Hiro apologizes to Satowa for it was a rare reunion with her mother yet it was messed up.
Embarrassed Satowa assures them that it is fine. She says that she ought to be the one apologizes for not only did they help her search...she even let them see that humiliating... sorry... Hiro hugs her tightly and shouts what is she saying, it isn’t a bit humiliating.

Sitting on the bench, Chiharu comments that it’s really lively. Chika looks at her after overhearing her say that. He sits down and says that in the end, she and Satowa feels very similar. Chiharu says that she recalls that he played the 17th string. He says yes, he is...Kudou.

Chiharu looks surprised and says, right, you are... Chika is puzzled. Chiharu says that it is nothing. She compliments him and the other guy who played the 17th string performance as very amazing. “Thank you for supporting that child all the way.”
After looking surprised, Chika says, ...eh, no, ah...he should say that they are dragging her progress. Chiharu tells him that dragging one’s progress and support aren’t the same. “No wonder that child totally treasures this club and you guys.” This made Chika blush a bit.

He feels uneasy then he says thank you... This made Chiharu smile. While Hiro is still hugging her and comments that she’s so soft, Satowa wonders what Chika and her mother are talking. Wiping his tears, Sane says that it’s really great.

Kouta agrees with him. Michi tells them that he’s so thirsty that he feels that his throat is going to be ruined from dryness for they were running and crying. Takezou comments that they were planning to buy some drinks a while ago.
Sane calls out to Chika that they are going to buy drinks so come and play jakenpon. Chika goes to the others. Then, Akira approaches Chiharu and greets her. Chiharu thanks her for bringing her here. Akira smiles and says no need for thanks and she is really sorry for forcefully dragging her over.

Chiharu says that it is like what she said about the kids in this club. Akira smiles and says, yes. After the jakenpon between him and the other three, Chika lost so he had to buy the drinks.

While buying the drinks at the vending machine, Chika thinks that he is so weak at jakenpon. He recalls the orders, cola for Sane, cool ginger ale for Kouta and Fanta for Michi. Takezou had told him that there’s no need to buy for him.
Chika angrily thinks that it is all carbonated drinks so how about shaking them a bit. As he buys the drinks one by one, he notices a girl sulking at the side of the trash can. This made Chika exclaim in surprise. Looking at the girl’s fluffy hair, Chika wonders if this person is---

Just then, Nene comes rushing to her sister and shouts that she had found her. Kazusa looks up and calls out to Nene. Nene says that she is in this kind of place when she was always looking for her.

Just when Kazusa is about to apologize for that, she notices Chika standing in front of her. He was observing that her hair got fluffier. She angrily shouts when he started standing there. “By the way, what are you looking at! Ah, could it be because Nene is so cute, so---”
Chika angrily says, ha, he isn’t looking, he is only buying drinks. After buying the others’ drinks, Chika decides to buy strawberry milk for himself. Kazusa gets flustered as he buys the drinks that she says, anyway, right now, they definitely already feel that they had defeated them.

Chika looks surprised and says, ha... She says that for him to calmly buy drinks here, he definitely already feels that he’s number one. As he picks up his drink, Chika says that isn’t she the same.

This made her look flustered again. She says that they...did a ‘uniform’ performance and that is their entirety. “Uniformity is the best and most beautiful. For us, this is music...! *bites lips* (but after hearing that kind of performance)...
...*recalls Tokize’s performance* ...merely doing a uniform performance as if our lives depended on it, aren’t we like idiots?” Chika asks what she is saying. This surprises her that Kazusa says, so she’s saying...

Chika tells her that for her to say that it is only for uniformity is totally wrong. “There are so many of you guys performing and even using that kind of speed to perfectly play it. Honestly speaking, I felt that it is very cool.” Kazusa looks surprised at serious Chika.

Nene looks awed by him. As he turns to leave, Chika says but, of course, in the end, they’ll [Tokize] win. Just then, Nene immediately grabs Chika’s right leg. Holding a small flower origami, she says that it’s for him. Kazusa calls out to Nene. Chika asks what this is.
Nene exclaims that it is her treasure. After bending down and holding the small origami, Chika wonders why she is giving it to him. Nene happily says that it is a pink rose that she folded. She asks if he’s happy. He nervously says, ah, she can consider that.

Nene tells him to properly take care of it throughout his life. This surprises Chika. Kazusa looks surprised too but she didn’t say anything. Chika looks at the rose origami. He tells her that they’ll exchange. “Here, for you.”

Chika gave her his strawberry milk. Delighted Nene exclaims that she likes strawberry milk. Chika says that’s good. Nene thanks him and says that she’ll properly take care of it throughout her life. Chika says no, quickly drink it.
Then, they bid each other goodbye. He says, see you. She says yes, see you tomorrow. Snapping out of it, Kazusa suddenly calls out to Chika and says that she takes back the words about them that they basically couldn’t match and play together with Satowa.

“Even if I’m really frustrated and really isn’t willing to admit it. *teary-eyed* Today, you guys truly played really well!!!” Chika looks surprised. He smiles and says, that’s right! He whistles as he leaves. Kazusa complains that normally, one should answer back ‘thanks’ right!?

Nene holds out the drink and tells her sister that she’s happy that she got this. Kazusa smiles and mutters that unexpectedly would drink strawberry milk, a bit out of place. This surprises Nene that Kazusa tells her that she isn’t talking about her.
Later on, Sane is furious over why his cola only has half a bottle left. Chika says that he drank it. When Michi and Kouta open their drinks, it start to spill that they ask what Chika did.

At a room, Kai [white hair glasses judge; Sorry, I named him wrong in the previous chapter/s. I’ve interchanged him with Sou ^^; ] collets all the papers together and says, then, the result of this competition is already decided. “Anyone has any objections? *the others are silent* --none, then, let’s go.”

It is announced that the results of the competition will be announced right now, and then, it will be followed by the closing ceremony. All the respective members of the school are asked to go back to the auditorium.
As everyone in Tokize looks tense, Sane says that it is finally here. Together with their group, Fumi tells Kazusa that they are going. While walking with their group, Taishin comments that he’s so nervous. After everyone had gathered in the auditorium, Kai walks on stage for his speech.

He tells everyone good work [otsukaresama] today. “In this tournament, the performance of many groups surpassed our expectation for it had reached the level of the Nationals. As the audience, who has heard it, we feel very blessed--- but, as a judge, we feel that it is very difficult to choose.”

Flashback: Yoshihiro [chubby judge] reconfirmed that among the groups only one can enter the Nationals. Kai said that’s right. Yoshihiro said that whether it is Himesaka Hakuto or Tokize, they can get a good position [/ranking] in the Nationals.
Kai told him but only one school can be chosen and he thinks that it should be Tokize. “The level of technique isn’t fussy and besides, honestly speaking, after hearing a lot of high school performances, it is the first time I felt stunned...

...It is the first time my heart was purely moved. Afterwards, it spurts out this kind of ‘music is really beautiful’ feeling. Furthermore, I want more people to listen to their performance.” Hisako [woman judge] opposes it for lately, people like modern pieces.

“Even if the melody is gorgeous and it is unexpectedly very easy to understand then it can effortlessly leave an impression on one’s heart. But, that kind of ‘let others listen to it’ piece is not at all a difficult thing. I recommend Hakuto. That kind of chosen piece as well as talent in performing is more worthy of being honored.”
Kai asked of Yoshihiro’s opinion. Scratching his head, Yoshihiro said that he also felt that the most moving is Tokize but thinking about it being a ‘tournament’ by itself, it should be Himesaka.

“That kind of technique, as well as uniformity, to the extent of playing it perfectly deserves to be the title of being the first.” Kai said is that so. Then, he asked Sou’s opinion. End flashback.

Back on stage, Kai says that if it is possible, he also wants everyone to ascend to the Nationals. “This is my sincere words. I really hoped for it to be that way but... a so-called tournament is very heartless for all of you had poured in everything, youth and performance...
...We have no choice but to put ranking. We have no choice but to choose that school that will ascend to the Nationals. *Members of Tokize, Himesaka and Hakuto look tense* --So, next, I’ll proceed with the announcement.”

Flashback: Sou said that for him, he believes that there is only one school that can pass the preliminaries. “They are obviously better than the other schools. This is my analysis [/consideration] coming from ‘music’s meaning. *Kai looked surprised* I really understand the meaning of what Midoriyama-sensei [woman judge] said...

...A piece can truly be divided into ‘a piece that can easily attract people’ and ‘a piece that isn’t like that’. But, the level of their performance isn’t at all to arrive at being able to play a ‘piece that can easily attract people’...
–--before it can cross over to experts [/critics] and be surrounded by experts, a really exquisite performance ought to be also appreciated by the masses. Even in front of language barrier and people of different culture, it can also open their hearts---

...Regarding this kind of performance I think we ought to send it off to a more dazzling place.” End flashback. Kai announces, “On the 32nd Kanagawa Prefecture High School Japanese Music preliminaries, the one who got first place as well as acquired the right to enter the Nationals is---

...*everyone looks from mildly tense to super tense.* Prefectural Tokize High!!!” Everyone looks surprised. This made Takezou, Satowa and Hiro flustered with tears brimming on their eyes. Sane, Michi and Kouta scream, yes and ‘is this for real!!!’ thrice.
Akira is happy for them as Suzuka just smiles. Hiro holds on to Satowa and asks if he just said that they’re first and is it true. Satowa exclaims that it is true. Teary-eyed Isaki and Mashiro hold each other and exclaim that it is amazing, the Nationals!!

Tetsuki sighs and says, ama-zing. Chiharu just smiles. Teary-eyed Takezou’s mother tells her husband, no way, no way, Nationals!? He [father] just smiles at her. Teary-eyed Tsukaji applauds. Kinoshita applauds with a smile. Kazusa and Mio look downcast. Chika isn’t reacting as he thinks, “—it isn’t, it isn’t over yet. We can continue on.”

Teary-eyed Sane calls out to Chika that they’ve succeeded!!! Takezou also calls out to Chika. They are surprised to see tears welling up on Chika’s eyes as he bites his lips. As Chika covers his face, everyone happily hugs [/goes to him] and shout, “We can all go to the Nationals!!!” (We performed together-- We won together)
Comment: Wow, so they finally won the most important competition and they’re going to the Nationals! After all that hard work and everything that led them here right now, the goal is now reached ^^ Just learning that, it gives me some kind of chill in a good way =P

It is already a big thing whether or not they’ll win the Nationals. But definitely with their kind of performance, they’ll be remembered by the audience. ^^ From what the judges decided on, music that is able to move the heart is the essence of music.

Actually, I think it is quite amazing if one can do that especially with koto which is quite traditional in a sense. For the other two, it has more to do with impressing the audience with their talent in playing. Sou’ vote and explanation was the determining factor since the other three have their own respective choices.

Chiharu and Chika’s encounter is good. At least, there is no possible hindrance on that side. *wink wink* As for Kazusa, she has also accepted Chika and others playing with Satowa. In a way, that conversation had probably changed her view of Chika. Both of them comment their own group’s performances even if Chika will still insist that they’ll win this. =P

I’m not quite sure what to think about that scene with Nene. A crush? A joke? Or, perhaps, Chika remembered something about his past when he got the origami rose. Anyway, Chika now as a young admirer ^^ If this is some shoujo, they might be paired up. =P

On a side note, it seems that there will be a koto CD for this series that will be out on March 8. <- not sure since it is all in Japanese. But, part of the track is Tenkyuu and the other schools’ performance.

Word of the day:
After years in the making, preparation, and planning, you may only be a brief flame which lights up the landscape for a moment. 2. Thanks KAT! I'm so happy it come out on my birthday =) So glad that Chiharu and Kazusa issues are solved now and Tokize's able to go to the National. I hope after this we can explore a little bit about Chika's relationship with his father.
p/s: Can't wait to hear the songs. Among the three song during JUMP's promotion, I really like (or love) Ryuuseigun, Tokize's first song and performance. Urgh!!! make it animated already, it has all the element already. This year shoujo anime was quite disapoiting for me. I can't find a decent shoujo for me to watch. I want KOT anime X(

    1. No, it isn't Dionne. It is more on some 'problematic' kids who got together and make music together to get into the Nationals as well as 'solve' their personal issues. The romance is more of a sideline rather than the main theme.

Same to you, Merry Christmas and happy new year ^-^

  9. lol and just like that Chika has become Nene's prince XD But yes, I thought that was such a cute scene, how Chika was so moved by Nene (complimenting his team and gifting him, a stranger, her "treasure") that he reciprocated by giving her his own treasure - strawberry milk haha.

Tbh that scene also had me imagining some sort of shoujo with high schooler Nene aiming to be the best at koto/trying to beat Satowa to grab the attention and affection of the cool, older/mature and highly skilled prince/koto idol Chika lol.

At first, I thought it is a musical measure note but there is no such thing. Perhaps, number of people including themselves that enabled them to achieve this feat?

  13. Tank you so much for the translation Kat.
I want to ask you something about Chika, do you think there is a problem releted with her mother? Because there is no mention about her and Chika never even reacts to any mother or death perent stories. He only have strong reactions towards his father and that side of his family.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Thanks for reading ^-^

I cannot say. If there is no 'strong reactions', it would seem like the mother is 'non-existent' and isn't important to him. It would seem like she had no impact on him at all. Perhaps, he never knew/met his own mother?

      Delete
    2. I think so too but I wonder if it is a hidden plot, like Chika had the fight because of a step mother or something.

      Delete
    3. Maybe but there are no hints about that so far. We'll just wait and see ^^

  14. Thanks Kat, though I still have some issues with completely "noobies" playing high level koto - which is one helluva difficult instrument - the explanation and execution was great. I felt more moved by the very end of the chapter, nonetheless, thank you so much.

So, we're getting a cd/audio from KoT? Wow, I gotta buy that, hope it'll sell outside Japan so I can order it. I can't read amazonjp even with page translated, lol.
    -
So, about what we were talking before, I still don't know what the issue was, since it didn't update and nothing really changed, except the synch.
    -
Lol, speaking of pacts, have you read Shingeki? It almost boggled my mind, lol. Don't what the author's trying, but it still somewhat good and interesting.
    -
They're good, they were good and humble before, now that they're in a position of power, they're still good. If they were bad, it wouldn't have changed, lol.
    -
So, now I gotta make that horrible pun, the trip was onehellevua trip, then? T__T - sorry, had to do it.

Good thing everything turned out alright, I remember one I did that almost everything gone bad, lost money and almost had to spent the last days outside 'cause the bookeeper made a mistake. Was crazy bad, but now I can laugh about it as worst days of my life, lol.

I can understand that. I mean, I can read, write, listen and speak in english; can read and listen in spanish, but can't write or speak, lol. Can read and listen somewhat italian, but can't for the life of me write or speak at all.
    -
I'm spending my time much more in bed that doing anything else. The office I built in my house is up stairs and not so easy to reach now that I'm having such hard time to move. But it's alright, like I said before, had worse days, so, lol.

    1. You're welcome, Fê ^-^ True.

Indeed. Ah, do you know yesasia? They might sell it. I haven't bought there before but at least, it is English/Chinese. I used to go to that site to check which Chinese published manga is out.

      - - -

      I see.

      - - -

I did. I don't quite get what's going on. Not sure if that is good though. ^^; The scene is jumping from one scene to another. I'll give some points to Eren for figuring that one out. I find the 'it's that time for Eren' a bit weird/lame. It seems some sort of time loop.

In the end, I guess the point is preservation of their race, right? Then, the cycle of tormenting begins again. Or, they wipe out the other race?

      - - -

Lol. True. But don't they have a hard time? Kudos for them to in keeping that up without giving up/being stressed.

      - - -

Ya though it could have been worse =P

Lost...not stolen? As in sleep outside the street/park? Hm...is this in your country? I think it will be more difficult if one is a woman. Okay, that depends for a woman can be vulnerable yet there are those who can use one's charms =P

Speaking of lost money, the one I heard is about honeymooners to Europe wherein the first stop is Paris. The wife is used to traveling to Europe but the husband is not and is a bit naive, I guess. They ride a train from the airport to the city. An old woman tripped. He helped her out and his backpack is gone. It was swiped by an accomplice. In the backpack are their passports, visas, money, etc. So much for European honeymoon. And, the trip is very expensive coming from our country.

Lol, is that so. Well, that's good enough to widen up your scope of reading/watching ^^

      - - -

I see. Take time to move your legs and exercise a bit even while lying down. When I had a seizure due to kidney failure, I was bedridden for a few days, was it. And after that, I couldn't walk anymore o_O It totally freaked me out but luckily, it was temporary.

Ah, stairs. It becomes the 'enemy' when one is old/injured. Hopefully you'll have more better days ^^

    2. Didn't know about it, but I'll be sure to check it out, double sure on march 8, lol.
      -
It's Eren's time, lol. Well, tbh, he really have to do something, anything, otherwise, he won't count even as a side chars as things are now. He seems more cannonfodder than protagonist. But I'm with you, it's a bit lame, nonetheless, I guess it's 'cause how the author are working things out and this mess with time/space memories thing.
      -
Yea, every now and then we sit a chat and they always say how hard it is, not beeing honest, but dealing with people that are also in places of power, I'd gather that that's the thing that turns almost everyone into bad.
      -
That's what I always, it could've been worse, so it's all good, lol.

Yea, I say lost, but almost certain it was stolen when we had a walk around town and couldn't bring our bags with us, just wallets, and since I'm not one to wander around with all money on my wallet, you can picture the scene. And yes, it was in my country, though in Manaus, which some people consider another country altogether. We did slept outside for some nights, camping in the woods, but the risk was to get kicked out of the hotel and miss the money to travel back, as I said, one of my worst days, lol.

Women can be scary, right? Lol. And I here a lot about those schemes, never ran into anyone that was a victim, but it's always on the news around here.

Yea, more like reading, though, since I'm not really a fan of those languages, I just read when I'm despaired or if it's only avaible option.
      -
I do, though I'm quite dishearted at the moment, I still do my physiotherapy exercises, without them I'm certain I wouldn't even be moving right now. I lost a lot of muscle mass and even my height around 3cm 'cause the nerves are all convuluted/stunted and it hurts like hell, but I still do.

I rather stairs than slopes, but right now, anything is bad, lol. Thanks Kat, really apreciate the concern.

    3. Well, hope it helps ^^

      - -

True. Though, I'm thinking that usually, that was mentioned during this time/modern times but then, do they also mention that about teens in that kind of 'era'? The age of death during their time is high and they are suppose to be more mature after everything - military training and deaths all over the place.

Perhaps, the author wanted to remind the readers/Hange and others that even after everything, Eren and others are still 'kids'?

Indeed. Cannonfodder...in a way but I'll say, it's like a damsel in distress for how many times are they going to save him after being kidnapped. ^^;; And not do much like most heroines in shounen. But then, maybe that is the intention since Mikasa is more 'manly' =P

      - - -

Considered as another country...because? Different culture? More dangerous? Oh, so in the wallet is the money for the hotel but the money for the travel back is in the luggage? I cannot quite imagine how it would be like...I mean, do you have camping gear at that time..ah, like tents?

Oh, I mean women who'll end up with your situation. Isn't it dangerous to sleep outside/camping in the woods? But yes, there are such women. Have some fun night then when guy wakes up, everything is gone.

      Lol, is that so.

      - - -

I see. That's good. Ah, indeed, it is one of those 'must' even if it hurts.

Hm...slopes why? Because the posture would be inclined? By the way, wheelchair is not an option, right, since you mentioned slopes? An aunt who had surgery for her scoliosis cannot ride a pedicab because it will hurt the spine especially on bumpy roads.

      =)

      Delete
    4. Well, I didn't find funny at all the - it's that phase of life, but what you mention is supposed to make sense. They still only teenagers, Hange and Levy must be the oldest ones and I bet they barely hit their 20. Seeing that, we should see more 'romance', since they must survive at all costs, but we only had one, the couple that died at the second attack, and now with Grisha's flashback, but those don't count, imo, lol.

You did mention before that Eren is too much of a dansel than a prot and I agree, lol. Let's hope he doesn't get kidnapped again.
      -
It's too different from the south, where I live, specially the climate and their costumes. Wouldn't say too much of a different culture, but too much difference in everything else. Besides, it's too dam* hot, lol.

Yea, we slept for two days in the woods, though people say it's dangerous since it's the amazon forest, the most dangerous was def my friend and his girl trying god knows what there. My god, just remembering that give me the chills, lol.

We had camping gear, indeed. And yes, I used to hide money among the clothes in the luggage, so I wouldn't walk with it all in my wallet, some credit cards too, don't like to have it with since is quite easy to be assaulted and kidnapped 'till you take all money from your account.
      -
I remember such woman in my life, I was younger, but can't say naive. Thought that we were having a good time together, never think we were in a serious relationship, but wha we had was quite fun, though in the end it'd seems that I was the only one thinking it was nice, as soon I lose my job I lost almost everything, including her, lol. It was like wake up call and seeing nothing is there, since it was exactly what happened before I realized, lol.
      -
Yes, there are days that it hurts so bad, but if I don't do it as soon I wake up, I won't be able to get up at all.

'cause I look like an alpinist with my crane climbing the slopes around here. They're evil, lol. Stairs at least have somewhere where you can 'rest' or grab to push yourself, slopes... Yea, I'm not fond of wheelchair for now, I can still move my legs and walk, with the whole world paining me, but I'm glad that I can still walk, so I won't give the chair a chance yet, lol.

Yea, me too. Bumpy roads are hell, I tell ya. And if the car doesn't have a good shock absorber I'm in a world of pain too, it shakes and throws and it's too bad for my back.

      Delete
    5. Ah, but in times like that, shouldn't survival be of utmost priority? Of course, I do know what you mean that love can blossom in that kind of situation. Actually, what I meant was, do they even have time to be teenagers/in that stage for they should be maturing really fast in that kind of situation = there is no teenage stage. So, I felt it was kind of out of place.

      Indeed.

Lol, so, it's more on the climate and yes, due to that, different costumes. Interesting though that due to climate, everything else changes.

      Lol. Okay. But Amazon forest huh...thankfully no dangerous mosquitoes at that time or you used a lot of bug spray. ^^ I thought woods is like some wooded area in a park. ^^;;

I see. So, such things do occur there, too. By the way, are there those that supposedly hypnotize you to give you all of your money by first befriending you then before you know it, you are giving the person your money to the point of getting jewelry at home then when the person left, that is the time you snap out of it. Perhaps, aside from hypnotize, those people are really good in talking/charming people. We hear it in the news at times.

      - - -

Hehe...but I guess the key word there is 'never think we are in a serious relationship' and 'quite fun'. If you lose your job, no more fun and since it wasn't serious, it's bye-bye. But, of course, it isn't exactly like having fun to rob you ^^ Perhaps, slowly robbing you since you'll have to spend money on her? She's probably off for the next 'victim'.

      - - -

It's getting that bad already huh. Still no hope in sight?

By the way, do you use one crane or two? Since you mentioned alpinist. =P That's good, walk and move while you can.

I see. Hopefully, there aren't that many bumpy roads there.

    6. I thought it too, the manga didn't present any kind of background to use this kind of joke. They were never ever treated as teens and well, you know, that felt way too out of place. It's a common trope to mess around with a 'chuuny', but here, it didn't have the effetc, for me anyways.

Tbh, though, I don't even remember anything funny besides Sasha and Hange 'crazy modes', the author doesn't seem to have much comedic relief exp, lol.
      -
Yea, it's kinda hard to explain. The south cities change too, where it gets really cold. It's like having two or three different countries in one here, I remember leaving my place under severe rain and cold, to get there where it seemed to have one sun to each other, same day. And yes, we had to take some preventive vaccines shots, but tbh, it's only if you intend to go to the woods like we did, other wise, it's a city same as others.

Aah, but I couldn't take it to go to amazon and don't enter the woods, the big rivers and whatnot. I mean, my friend didn't enter the river, but I made quite the fuss about it and had to jump the boat, once I was in the water, there was no in hell to get me out of there, lol. We did camp in the 'wild woods', but we didn't go to far into it. I mean, we did, but not anywhere we could get 'surprised' by anything other than people trying to do god knows what.

We have a saying here, I even spoke about it today with my cousins, men in love are worse than women in love. So there's a lot of it, friends of mine did that, one of them when so far as claiming he was possessed by some kind of devil 'cause after they broke, he didn't believe in how he acted when they were together, lol. In my case, the surprise was that we knew each other for sometime before we tried anything, so I was quite sure that what we had was mutual, nothing serious, but nothing to suddenly change like that. Even more so 'cause, at the time, I worked freelance either, so my income didn't suffer enough, but, well, I guess we never really know someone until you do, like they say, lol.
      -
No hope in sight, tbh, more like desperation, but I'm quite calm about it. Soon I'll have another check up, have to book another exam for the sick leave and so on and on, but I can't even get mad anymore. Just don't if it's a good thing or not, lol.

Only one when outside, inside the house I don't really need since I'm always in bed, or if I have to walk, there's always some wall around. But I live in a slope, so it's hard. I mentioned alpinist 'cause I have to really put the crane in the floor, like hammering those pricks in the ice and climbing, lol.

There are, the roads around here are awful, the gov are always making 'new' ones, that are always worse than the old ones, lol.

    7. Ya. So, in a way, it seems like a lame/failed attempt to lighten up the mood. ^^; Hehe, for us, I guess =P

True. Well, it can ruin the mood if the mangaka goes more on being comedic in such a serious theme/plot.

      - - -

      I see.

      Okay...well, at least, it was okay. Usually, in shows, such rivers in wooded areas, it was shown to have crocodiles, piranhas, leeches =P It reminded me of liking the beach and being in the water. But if you have googles, you can see all sorts of creatures that would seem to 'bite/pinch' you that it can be quite scary ^^;; I ended up not enjoying it much. Still, it is different if it is a beach that is void of any fish/creature or even waves. ^^;;;

Wow...even going as far as to blame the devil huh. Usually, it is because of 'blind by love/passion'. But then, since it was like that, I guess he did a lot of things he normally wouldn't do for the girl?

Indeed, and usually, it is when you are down.

      - - -

      Ah...I'm not sure it's good or not either. ^^;

      Lol...I see.

'new' ones...are those the same here like destroy okay roads and build new ones for kickbacks? Instead of new roads at places that really needs it. In our store, in less than 10 years, the street was replaced twice. First, it is to make it cemented. Then, a few months later, the water company decides to destroy a part of it horizontally for water pipes. So, after a few years, those parts are crumbling because the contractor put in cheap cement/didn't cement it properly.

Last year, for 4 months, the street in our place was destroyed for drainage pipes. I think they are going for cheap since only two people are working the whole block! And, after they are done, the drainage holes are sinking because they didn't put steel pipes for it. So, that got fixed again.

      Now, some of those things are sinking down since huge trucks are passing through it. I usually avoid those drainage because it might sudden sink down with me on it ^^;;

    8. I bet some people liked, but well, it really didn't come as alright. There's a manga that does it well, even when the time and place 'don't ask for it', Drifters. It's just the way the mangaka does his work and tbh, it is quite good, it remember us that it's not real, even more when it suffers so much prejudice for - wild spoiler here - putting Jesus as villain.
      -
Nah, we don't have crocodiles nor big alligators here, only in zoos. There's a kind of alligator it's called papo amarelo here, but they don't stay near the setlements like in Nilo's river and mor are they as aggresive or big as crocos as we know.

Well, I bet the water wasn't really clean, but it's much cleaner than the rivers and beaches we have over the south. Besides, where I 'dived' was in the encounter of the two rivers, Rio Nero and Solimões, if you google you can see some nice images. It's a lot safer tbh. But, yes, there are places like the ones you said.
      -
Yea, that was how much he changed when with her. It didn't really seem the same person.
      -
Lol, I went to work yesterday, had to sign some papers as not to lose my job, and discovered that the gov changed some rules of sick leaves, now it'll affect our sallaries even more, like, it'll decrease it more and more.

Yea, just like that. New over new and it's always bad. Some places are good, not gonna lie, but that's only in famous places.

You're right to do that, it happened here, near my house and it happened in the same stadium that held the olympics and the world cup over here. It did sink with people there.

    9. I see. True, sometimes it is well done and sometimes, not. Well, I haven't read that series.

      - - -

      Oh...so the rivers are 'safe' for swimming ^^ Hehe...been reading a lot of crocs biting/killing people in news...iirc, a woman tried to get a selfie near one. ^^;

It looks nice. In Taiwan, there is a place with two different colored water...the other one is from waste of the mining nearby, nevertheless, they call it yinyang sea. Is the water there strong? So, perhaps, there are limited living things there.

      - - -

I see ^^ Out of curiosity, what broke the 'love spell'?

      - - -

Really? Your government is really a sadist. So, the salaries decrease is during the leave, right?

      Famous places are tourist spots?

Wow, really. Anyone injured? Were they provided treatment when it was 'their' fault?

    10. Drifters is very, very good. But heavy, like real heavy. These comedics reliefs I said it's well played so we can disctract ourselves during those heavy scenes. I wouldn't reccomend to you, but anyone that likes depiction of war in almost full detail it'd be nice, more if they happen to like historic stuff.

And I just re-read the latest KoT, really, it's such a great read. I wish some ocidental publisher'd pick, I'd buy it for sure.
      -
Yea, pretty much. Unless you go to completely isolated place, nowadays is pretty safe. But then gain, you have to travel a bit to reach a plase that isn't polluted and there's no dangerous animals around.

Did you google it? There's a bit of a strong current, but it's not that strong. Seem strongers in plain beach/ocean. But there's one in another state, that's call Pororoca, where those rivers encounter the ocean, there it's almost impossible to swin. Some surfists go, but it's pretty dangerous if you aren't in a safe boat.
      -
Tbh, I don't really know. Like I said, it was good so far, I remember we really did have a lot of fun a few days prior to the 'snap'. The impression I was left it's that, well, I'm tired, so I moving on, and while I'm it, I'll just suck you dry and that's it. Don't know what happened, lol.
      -
Yea, we can't even get sick anyomre, or else we might even lose our jobs now, even if you are a civil servant that passed in exams. It's pretty bad around here right now.

MOre or less. Like, the roads leading to that stadium are good, but if you take two or three adjcents streets, you'll see they're in pretty bad state. The same with the major roads/highways, some places seems to be good, only to get really bad as you go further.

If I'm not wrong, there was a worker that died, but I don't remember if was when the 'ground sinked' or if was in the repairs. The family got insurence, at least.

    11. I see. This is ww2?

      Indeed ^^

      - - -

Hm...that would be a desert but the problem would be food and water =P

I looked at the pics ^^ Googling for it always shows up these singers ^^; Hm...looking at the pics of Pororoca, isn't it a bit muddy looking. Though the surfers seem to be having fun.

      - - -

      Ah, suck you dry...that means sucking all your money and all of your material wealth ^^;

      - - -

Ah, it is really hard times. So, that is the policy because the sick employees can easily be replaced?

      I see.

But no compensation from the government/whoever was in charge? Here, they would have raised a huge media commotion even if it was an accident or plain negligent caused by the worker/s. The blame would be on the construction company. Lucky, if you're not sued but usually, just pay the injured and deceased some monetary compensation.

I'm not sure if it is the same there but aside from the 'militants' with communist ties who urged 'aggrieved' to sue = they pay for the litigation and get some of the money, the media would sometimes keep on giving the company a 'bad name' due to the accident or whatever 'bad deed' they have committed...there are rumors that they want to be 'paid' to shut up about it so the reputation won't be that ruined.

    12. No, it's more like famous people from whole wide world of all times. We have Abe no Seimei, Oda Nobunaga, Hanibal from Carthago, Billy the Kid, a kamikaze pilot, Joan of D'Arc, Rasputin and Jesus - though it's not really said it's him.
      -
Lol, yea! Yes, it seems to be, but it's not, believe me. It's just there's a lot of mixed water mixing together in high speed. And I guess if you google 'rio negro e solimões, encontro das águas' - you'll see a better image of where I jumped off. It's a lot calmer than the Pororoca, which is in another state, not in Amazonas.
      -
As much I'd like to deny, I guess that's correct, yeah. I still don't know what caused the 'snap' though.
      -
I think so, and because there's a lot of unemployed, so we ged rid of those sick, contratc new people with a inferior salary, in the end, a little is more than 'a nothing at all' right? It's somewhat what's happening around here.

I heard the family got compensation, but the midia over here is communist, but they won't ever admit.

And it works like you explained. When there's money involved, they quickly change the subject and find another story to cover.

    13. I see. It's time travel, right? And I assume the other characters are 'different' from history, too.

      - - -

Yup, it is a lot calmer. ^^

      - - -

Hm...what could have caused the snap. Probably seeing his bank account becoming zero and he needs the money asap but she won't lend him? <- hehe, just imaging.

      - - -

It is reality but really sounds...I don't know, bad. It makes me think of those anime wherein the weak/sick/have defects are 'thrown away' especially if sources are limited.

      Ah, okay.

I see. Money does have 'power'. By the way, what's your country's take on Trump's latest moves? Here, the people are still gaga over Miss Universe which was held here. For the government, it was 'it's okay' = not really protesting or anything.

  15. Thank you soo much for these wonderful translations! Any idea on when the next update might be? I haven't seen scanlation updates on this series for awhile — I really hope it I get to read it soon! :)

    1. Thanks for reading them, Unknown ^-^

The recent one is already up in Japan. I'm still waiting for the Chinese scanlation. Usually, they release it in the middle of the month but perhaps, they are busy lately like last month.
