Skip Beat [Chapter 217]

[Free Talk: Since it is late here..almost midnight, I'll reply to the tags and comments tomorrow.]

Kyouko is surprised that her mother had contacted, how can... Then, Okami enters to ask if everything is okay for she heard noises inside. [<- Kyouko screaming] Quickly standing up, Kyouko says that it is nothing and sorry for bothering them, it is just that an unexpected guy would suddenly appear before her eyes in an unexpected situation that she wasn’t able to control herself. Holding out his bowl, Shou asks for another one. Couldn’t believe how thick his face is, Kyouko angrily grabs the bowl and tells him that is enough. Okami asks if he wants another one. Kyouko holds out the bowl to her and says that Shou apologizes for not being able to eat more but thanks for the food, it was delicious. To Shou’s delight, Okami says if that is so, then she’ll give him another one. Holding up both hands, Kyouko exclaims that means no. She makes an elaborate excuse that regarding Shou’s gratitude for delicious food, it is his lifetime goal to value that gratitude by absolutely not eating it twice. He is doing this to increase his gratitude for the delicious food. This made Okami praise Shou for being young and yet amazing. Kyouko says yes, he is really great <- a long time since she mentioned this praise. While Shou is irked by what Kyouko said, Okami tells Kyouko to just call her if she needs anything. Formally bowing, Kyouko thanks her and closes the door. While walking away with the empty bowl, Okami thinks that it turns out that kid is her childhood playmate. He’s the one in super super big poster that is hanged on Kyouko’s room even if she thinks that he is a celebrity.
Okami only watches the news on the television so she and her husband do not know him. But then, all of the customers in the stores knows him..Fuwa Shou. After the door closed, Kyouko angrily looks at Shou and tells him to get away from there. Taking away the rest of his food, Kyouko tells him that this is a general [VIP] special seat and not for him to casually sit. Shou says who cares about her, Okami had asked him if he ate or not, and he said no, so she let him sit here. Kyouko scolds him for being thick-faced. She tells him to be a bit more cautiously modest for he would unexpectedly go into someone’s house and eat with gusto. Shou says that someone is telling him to eat so why must he be modest, also she is fully aware that the food here is very delicious. Irked Kyouko recalls how she happily brought take-out food for him upon coming home. While Shou resumes eating, angry Kyouko mentally scolds him not to make her remember unhappy memories. While grinding her teeth, she doesn’t want Shou to eat the food since it is a waste on him but then, it is also a waste to throw it away. Shou goes back to the topic by mentioning the passport. Kyouko quickly asks if that person looked for him.. contacted him. [<- Sorry about how I implied the last translation, it turns out that he only said, ‘Aunt Saena have contacted’ rather than ‘Aunt Saena have contacted [me]’] Shou tells her that is impossible for she would only contact his family. Saena told his parents, ‘I already know where that child is, do not worry.’ That is because when they both left his house, his parents informed Saena about it.
Kyouko says that’s right, they said, ‘I’m really sorry for our stupid son had taken Kyouko away to become a housekeeper’ and that is because Shou’s parents are very intelligent and have good insight. Shou says that’s right and they knew that he didn’t FORCEFULLY drag her away because his parents are very intelligent. Kyouko angrily glares at Shou over that fact. Shou says but then, the fact is he did take her away that both his parents kept on apologizing to Saena non-stop. Kyouko is furious that it is like Shou is talking about someone else. Shou says that it seems that Saena has always been paying for Kyouko’s living expense in order for them to let Kyouko stay [/and care for her]. And so, he got a furious telephone call from his family to his office, ‘It seems that Kyouko is living here, and it is his duty to go and check the situation!!’ His parents say that even if it is hanami season [/cherry blossoms-sakura season which is from end of March to first week of April] soon that they are busy in the inn, but in a few days, his parents will personally come and see Kyouko. Kyouko says is that so. Shou scolds her for saying that because it is possible that they are going to bring her back to Kyoto because his parents have a ‘responsibility’ to care for her [/give her shelter]. This surprises Kyouko. She wonders if Saena had told Shou’s parents to do that. She dismisses it as impossible for her to say that because.. While holding his tea cup, Shou asks her if she had directly seen Saena at that time.
Kyouko is puzzled so Shou tells her the time when she got the signature for her passport. Kyouko darkly says that if there is sickness that can cause someone to die due to being overly stupid, it would be good if it happens now. Shou angrily asks what she is talking about, is she talking about him, she who is an expert in stupidity had the nerve to tell him that. Kyouko bites her lip and says that if she directly met up with that person, why would his parents ask him to come and check her situation? Shou says that having said that.. Kyouko repeats that if there is a sickness that can cause someone to die due to being overly stupid, let it happen now, and let the first sacrifice be him, you expert in stupidity. This made Shou shout for her that’s enough and shut up. Shou says that he said it because her ability to comprehend puts one in despair. Kyouko asks him if he wants her to explain to him the current reality. Kyouko seriously thinks that she knows about that thing but it is impossible for her [mother] to say that, and wanting to change her life’s path-something, because that person won’t come here, even if she also lives in Tokyo, she also won’t come and see her. Shou looks tense and mutters, “...Hm..eh..ah...sorry..” Kyouko looks at him in surprise. She exclaims that he just said a disgusting word, he’s apologizing, is he apologizing, apologizing to her!!? Yuck!! She tells him not to be like that since it is like an omen that something scary will happen and she couldn’t be at ease!! Even if he already makes her unable to feel at ease. That’s enough, it is okay for him to be just, the number 1 ego.
With huge popped veins, Shou angrily says that for her to be like that to someone’s rare sincerity. Kyouko starts to darkly mutter  that Shou angrily shouts that an expert in stupidity dare to say that to him and wasting one’s good intention. Then, after looking surprised, Kyouko says that it is impossible because his parents ordered him. It is impossible that he came over because he’s worried about her. Shou is shock over his ego being finished [/completed; I don’t get this part]. While tidying up the utensils that he used on a tray, Kyouko says that it is fine with him if she is gloomy over seeing that person. If she were to lament over it, for him, it is totally superficial [/idiom for doesn’t hurt, doesn’t tickle]. Shou angrily thinks that’s true. Kyouko says that it is also very strange for him to worry about the reason why his parents are coming over when he wanted her to be a waitress [/hostess] for life in Kyoto. Shou admits that it is because she has fallen head over heels over Tsuruga Ren. Shou is shock to see Kyouko stiffening over that. Somewhat standing up, he asks could it be..she is an idiot who had a huge rock on her head that she has fallen head over heels..when before she even had that amazing declaration. While Kyouko is mentally freaking out about forgetting about that and things had progress up to this point, Kyouko casually says, ha, don’t be silly, how can she simply fall head over heels when she is betting her life on it.
While Kyouko is holding the tray with all her strength to hide her palm, inner Kyouko tells her not to let Shou notice her current feelings for Ren. It is also worried about the [Love Me] stamp being exposed but then, it doesn’t have Ren’s name on it. Inner Kyouko cheers Kyouko on to use her acting skill here. Kyouko says that didn’t she tell him she has her own goal and that is to show him that she can be a first rate actress in Japan. For this reason, she must continuously improve herself, and she must become someone who’ll make others feel proud of her. “Love-what, that is just some monster that will disturb one’s state of mind. Even for a moment, I won’t let it be the first place within my heart.” Standing up, Shou tells her to say it clearly like that. No matter what his parents say, don’t think of unnecessary things. “You just carry out the future path that you have decided to walk on.” After Shou left, Kyouko is lost in thought by the door. Okami asks her if someone fetched Shou since he greeted her a while ago [/bid her goodbye]. Kyouko says yes and she apologizes for it being late since Shou lacks common sense. After throwing the trash, Okami asks what’s up. Kyouko doesn’t quite know how to tell her. Kyouko thinks that right now, the impression that was left on her was his disgusting ‘being decent[/honorable]’ and those last amazing [/extraordinary] words, that’s all. She recalls about him asking if she met her mother then he apologized. Kyouko thinks wait..it is impossible for Shou to be like that..even if he immediately deny it..but was he really a little bit worried about her so he came..because of that matter between her and that person..
Inside the car, Shou recalls Kyouko telling him why would his parents ask him to check her situation if she had seen her mother. Shou thinks that he knows that but despite it, it couldn’t be abandoned and [he’s?] hoping that kind of thing still exists..that upon knowing the whereabouts of one’s missing daughter, even if it is Saena, perhaps, --but, reality apparently isn’t that beautiful. Recalling how she reacted to his apology and mentioning about that ‘so stupid that he’ll die’ sickness, he thinks that since Kyouko can still scold and curse him, she ought to be alright. In Kyouko’s room, she picks up a small purse that is on top of her cabinet that is filled with her fairy tale containers and related stuff. [<- I think she had preserved that rose or else, why it is still there. ^^; But what happened to that grand vase she bought before?] She opens the purse and happily smiles at Corn the rock. Taking it out, Kyouko says that she’s back and sorry, was it lonely. She had left it at home since she doesn’t want to lose it. Taking it on her table, Kyouko tells it that she bought it a gift. Holding a little pouch, she says that it is star sand. While pouring the sand on a piece of table, Kyouko says that she found it at a nearby island which the film crew rented. In this pile of sand, there are star-shaped sand so isn’t it amazing. Kyouko puts Corn on top of the pile of sand. She laughs and asks if it felt comfortable, the south sea. Can it feel the moist environment? She tells it that she meticulously prepared this gift and aside from this, she had seen its former master in Guam. While touching Corn, Kyouko sadly says that in the end, she should have brought it with her.
She recalls when she was young and it was raining. Holding Corn the rock tightly, she walked through the woods and cried her heart out. End flashback. Kyouko slams on the table and exclaims that she has to tidy up her luggage for she has Box R early in the morning. After opening her luggage, her demon ‘loving darkness’ antennas come out and whine at Kyouko over how long was she going to make them wait, quickly read it. Kyouko mutters that she’ll look over it a bit before going to sleep. The next day, Kyouko looks tired and exhausted. She had tossed from side to side because her demons won’t let her sleep since they kept on making her finish reading Amamiya’s notebook. Going to the set, Kyouko thinks that Amamiya is totally angry but then, it is inevitable to be angry when someone said that, and it is mean since actress Amamiya is unfamiliar in that area [/comedy]. Then Kyouko notices that the cast of Box’R are talking together at one area. Her co-stars are asking if ‘she’ is okay and they don’t have any detained information. Kyouko wonders what happened for they are all gathered there as if there is some uproar. One of the co-stars says that the director didn’t say things clearly yet he just went out but then, when he arrives at the hospital, he should come back to tell them about ‘her’ situation. This made Kyouko worry that she asks her co-stars what happened. They tell her that on the way to the shooting, Amamiya got into a major accident and they heard that she was brought to the hospital. Next chapter will be out on November 20th in Japan.
Comment: So, Shou is indeed thick-faced enough to ask for another bowl of bamboo shoot rice. ^^; I wonder if Okami really didn’t doubt ‘Shou’s ‘strange’ reason for not wanting to eat another one because of how Kyouko insisted it. Since Okami and hubby do not quite know who Shou is and I doubt that Kyouko had told them what he did, so I guess they probably just think that he is someone Kyouko knows. I wonder if she also thinks that Kyouko has some sort of crush on Shou because of that huge poster in her room. ^^; Hehe, because of her principles about the food, she cannot stop Shou from eating the rest of it. ^^; In a way, I guess that is how Shou can get his way with her. And, apparently, Saena didn’t call Shou. Sorry again for implying it because I didn’t expect that she had stayed in contact with Shou’s parents. ^^;; We know some new stuff here. Saena didn’t totally abandon her. She still provided the money for Kyouko to stay there, and even if Kyouko doesn’t want to believe it, it seems that Saena left her under the care of the Shou family. For what reason, there are a lot of possibilities like marrying her off to Shou, she couldn’t take care of her, she couldn’t stand her ‘not perfect’ daughter, etc. Of course, I’m not really convinced about that marrying part. ^^; Nevertheless, it doesn’t change the fact that she did abandon Kyouko and it had deeply scarred Kyouko that until now, she still somewhat relies on Corn to cheer her up. Okay, that opens up the possibility of maybe the real Corn will do that for her later on ^^

I’m curious though what Shou’s parents are like, and how they look. I’m delighted that we’ll even get to see them. So, they are intelligent, seem to think their son is an idiot and are very responsible/caring for Kyouko. After all, aside for leaving the inn on a very busy time, they even contacted their idiot son to make him check on Kyouko. I do wonder if it is like what Shou thinks, that they plan to bring Kyouko back. If that is the reason, that means that they don’t know what became of Kyouko. Since Shou has ‘severed relations with his parents’, I assume that he also didn’t bother to inform his worried parents about what happened to Kyouko. Of course, he cannot tell them that he has abandoned her after she outlived her use. So, it makes me wonder, does Saena know what Kyouko is doing now? If they are like the Daruma couple, they would never realize that Kyouko the actress is Mogami Kyouko. That means, that acting thing with Kanae is a coincidence. It seems that there is no endearment with Shou's parents from Kyouko..is it because she thinks that they are doing it out of responsibility or they have an ulterior motive for letting her stay in the inn before aside from getting money from her mother? I do wonder what Shou is apologizing for. Since the topic is about Saena contacting Kyouko, I guess he is apologizing for bringing it up? In a way, it seems that for Kyouko, people do not change though that is human nature especially towards people who has hurt one badly and gave one very bad memories. She is really shock over Shou apologizing to her and she also tends to stick to how she viewed her mother. Still, what Shou said about Ren seems to betray his jealousy. Too bad Kyouko is quite busy covering it up to notice it, and later on, she’s thinking of her mother.

Like what I wanted, Kyouko successfully covered it up with her acting. Good job ^^ I do wonder if they’ll meet again in the next couple of days so that he’ll see the Love Me drawing stamp..of course, like what Kyouko mentioned, Ren’s name isn’t on it so he won’t know anyway..unless she slips up or someone tells him about it. In short, I wonder if the mangaka would still put importance to it and I don’t think she can act in Box’R with it on her palm. Even if Shou is like that and everything, it seems that he still care about her going ahead with her plans for the future and not be swayed by his parents. Of course, I highly doubt she’ll be swayed if it is about going back to Kyoto. And yes, he was worried about her because he knows that thing about her and her mother. Shou seems convinced that Kyouko is okay though deep down inside, from that Corn scene, she wasn’t. It does make me wonder if it is Ren, would he know especially since her acting is now quite good? About that flashback, I wonder if it has a significance or it is just one of those times when Kyouko is all alone with just Corn the rock to comfort her. Hehe, it seems that Kyouko’s demons had quite a control over her to make her read the notebook all night. The comedian must have ridiculed Amamiya being not used to comedy. Well, she is overly serious and gloomy so that isn’t a surprise. And, it seems that Shou’s apology is indeed an omen since Amamiya got into an accident. Ordinary accident or deliberate one? That is quite a surprise for I don’t know how the notebook, and this accident would relate to this arc which should be about Kyouko’s mother which now includes Shou’s parents. Knowing this mangaka, there has to be a connection. Maybe with that, her mom and everything, Kyouko couldn’t compose herself and make a slip? If she did, what would it be..how about making Ren/Shou notice her feelings for Ren? ^^ Hehe, it is going to be spring soon so love ought to be also blooming. Maybe the accident is with Saena =P Maybe Kanae will also go to the hospital though I don’t know how Saena would be there since that shooting has only started and she shouldn’t be that close with Saena to go there with her unless there is some significance. Oh ya, the title is tiny monsoon..so we might be in for a bigger one later on. And monsoon is related to rain..so does it mean crying? So that flashback has a significance? Scans by 红莲汉

  2. Thanks for translating!!!! It looks like the chapters keep on getting interesting. I hope Amamiya isn't seriously hurt. I already feel bad/sad for her previous injury. Also, Seana might appear for a lawyer job in the accident case or similar (just my guess on it). This keeps on getting better and better with every chapter. I just wish that more chapters come out in a month and not just one. It will take a long time if the mangeka only updates once a month. That will be a long wait until we find out more about Kyoko's past. Also, we don't know Ren/Kuon's past yet either and she has to add that to the manga too. We still have a lot of information we need to know/ we are dying to know. I can't wait for the next chapter!!!! Thanks for the fast translation Kat!

Hopefully, she's not. Maybe..depends on what kind of accident it was.

That's right..it's a long wait but well, at least it is worth it every time ^^

  3. Thanks Kat for staying up late to translate this. Nice summary as usual and I agree with you that the tiny monsoon might transform into a big raging storm. I can't understand how mothers/ parents can become cruel to their children, so it is interesting that the mangaka has tackled this painful/delicate issue. I hope though that she will put the main character on the track of moving on after getting her past scars healed, just like Ren (which is probably what is going to happen - after darkness comes the dawn). I don't quite understand yet why the mangaka planned for Amamiya to have an accident unless it is something which is part of the plot set up by her to ignite the "confrontation" (?) between Kyouko and Saena!

Thank you again - Cordially :)

  4. Thanks for the summary Kat! Things are stirring up and we're getting into the new arc. Poor Amamiya, Kyoko just saw her the day before and she was fine. Sho's parents are coming so we finally get to see their faces, they were always covered. I wonder how they'd react to Kyoko being an actress. Not to mention her and Sho not being together in a year, (not that he was there once he got somewhat famous). Saena will also see Kyoko by choice or accidental. I hope she doesn't try to irk or hurt Kyoko by getting Lory in trouble for letting a minor on TV without her mother's consent. Hopefully, she wouldn't care. But also I hope Amamiya is fine and it isn't too serious. Knowing that she will be peeved off that this happened. Let's pray there will be no deaths.

Yup..lots of things are going to happen soon. Well, hopefully, she doesn't. It basically depends on what she really thinks of Kyouko as her daughter. I'm not sure of the extent she can meddle when she had abandoned her to the care of others. I'm actually surprised that she is still indirectly providing for Kyouko. I thought it was total abandoned but she kept in touch with Shou's parents.

      Hm...I doubt this series will kill off a character. ^^;

  6. thanks for the summary. I wonder if the accident involves someone else she knows, or if she seeks Ren out when everything explodes. I get the feeling she may find out the truth about a lot in this arc and all these incidents are going to make her mature quickly.

It might involve someone else. Not sure if she'll seek Ren since she might think he's too busy, etc so she shouldn't bother him.

      Indeed.

  7. Thank you for the summary Kat!
Maybe with past coming up we'll get more Sho vs. Kyoko moments where Ren eavesdrop on their conversation like in chapters 82. & 93./94. And maybe Ren will hear Kyoko confess her feelings for him or he'll be unable to just watch and interfere with confession of his own.

Possible..and if it happens, I hope that it will be different from how it was done before. You know, for it to be not too repetitive as if she ran out of ideas.

  9. Thank you for writing up the excellent summary! I enjoyed it a great deal. Wow, so many new ways and potential arcs.... I guess this might preoccupy Kyoko enough so that the Ren/Kyoko romance will probably stall - again, gah. But I also hope to see Sho's parents. But I wonder, why the accident with Amamyia? Maybe Box'R' will be cancelled. More likely, Kyoko will devise some way of incorporating her missing into the drama...

Ah..that's possible though I hope it will still progress in a way like Ren being there for her if things get ugly...something like how she helped him before with his issues. ^^

True..and that is possible..to show off her acting talent more, if that happens.

  11. Great thanks for the summary kat ^^ Shou really is thick faced i told you before the guy should get beaten up maybe that would teach him some manners .I would've loved for him to see the stamp and die of jealousy but damn it he didn't see it and although kyouko covered it with her acting i hope he come to realize that unlike with him this time she won't turn to a stupid fangirl because not only did she fall for a great guy who actually love her but she also has a goal which means a lot to her .

About Shou you know it is obvious he is jealous and "likes " kyouko but his feelings (his jealousy and so called love) are just a NO NO to me because it seems like he just doesn't want to lose to ren like when he kissed kyouko it was to piss off ren and that's just lame stealing a girl 's first kiss for such a reason is what a jerk would do (since first kisses in manga are always a big deal) i don't say that he doesn't care for kyouko he does but my opinion on Shou is that he is VAIN and no matter what i can't take him or his feelings seriously .While Ren love kyouko for herself accept her as she is with her crazy fairy fetish and really need her in his life .

I feel sorry for kyouko because no matter how you slice she left her daughter behind and do you think that providing your kid with money is enough ? when said kid live in the same town and you don't even bother visiting your child (i didn't know they lived both in tokyo that shocked me ) I think kyouko bearing the scars of her mother treatement is natural cause kyouko is still a kid after all 17 years old and even if she was 40 i doubt she would get over it and you know when i think of it i think kyouko's fairy fetish maybe because of her mum i mean when you are a kid and you don't have a father and your mum neglect you and you are an only child you must be looking for something pretty and ideal like fairies and fairy tales where everything is well and ends well unlike in real life maybe kyouko became a fairy fanatic because of that because she needed somewhere to escape ? just like how teens drink and take drugs

So shou's parents are coming and it is nice to see that they value kyouko unlike their baka son .Even if they try to take Kyouko's back she won't go cause like i said she has a goal now and it isn't only for a man .I hope if they bring up the topic of her marriage to Shou she clearly tells them that her feelings are no more (they wanted her to marry Shou right?) and you know what would be epic is if Shou's parents actually met Ren and notice what is going and start to ship the two i would love to see that we would see Shou in his Japanese demon form (hahahaha that's supposed to be my evil laugh ^^)

About Amamiya that was shocking and i think it wasn't because someone did it maybe since she is super pissed she tripped and maybe something fell on her since it is a set there is alot of stuff there right ? or maybe she pissed off somebody and got pushed down the stairs ? And if they happened maybe the person who did that will get sued and the lawyer will be kyouko's mum what do you think ?

Ren needs to return because it feels like a storm is about to rage and i really hope we will see him give kyouko his full support because she is gonna need it .If someone did that to Amamiya we may see kyouko and her demons go at war ^^ i hope kyouko will stand up to her mother when she see her and give her a piece of her mind .By the way i recalled something what did kyouko give ren for his birthday

    2. Thanks for reading, sofia ^-^ True..very thick faced. Ah..dying of jealousy might be reserved for later on ^^ Also, there is that 'bet' so Kyouko would make sure her secret is well hidden. That's right ^^

I agree...aside from the kiss, as he admitted, it included this bet. I guess in a way, there is also that, 'we were together before' through thick or thin, even if it was kind of one-sided.. though ah..at least when they were childhood friends? Of course, for him..for Kyouko, it might be like I was just duped all throughout. In a way, regarding the Beagle arc, Kyouko still cared enough for him not to lose to them. Of course, it also has something to do with, she helped him become like that, she wouldn't want him to go down because of some beagles. =P

Of course, it isn't enough and I think they parted ways in such an awful manner that it is such a trauma for Kyouko. I also think that is part of the reason for her fairy tales..as a way of escape and hoping that she'll have a happy ending..and she thought that Shou is the one who is going to provide that. I came up with it when discussing with someone before over how come Kyouko is still into fairies/fairy tales when she's already at that age.

Yes, they want her to marry Shou..though I get the impression that it is because she is quite good at her work in the inn. It must be a plus that she likes Shou. Lol, that's a good idea ^^ It would be amusing if that happens.

      Ah..I don't think the accident has anything to do with stairs like before. I'm assuming that it is a car accident since they mentioned that she is on her way to the shooting. Since everyone are almost there, I assume that she is already in the car rather than on the stairs. Suing is possible if it is that type of accident. Thinking of it more, would a lawyer like Kyouko's mom deal with ordinary car accidents? I'm thinking that the other party involved in the accident is Kyouko's mom. Hence, that will make a good encounter between them when Kyouko visits and probably her mother checking on Amamiya whom she hit? That's the extent that I can imagine for now. ^^;

Hm..he won't return soon...couple of days still..right? He'll probably arrive at the eye of the storm =P I'm sure he will especially how she helped him with his. ^^ Indeed, if someone did that to Amamiya. Yup..though the issue right now seems that her mother isn't bothering herself to see her. That can be viewed as 'I don't care' or perhaps, 'I don't have the face to show myself to you after what I did'.

As Anonymous mentioned, it is a sheep pillow. And it seems to be a real life item: Aunt Merry Sheep Pillow.

    3. @ Anonymous thank you ^^

That's true that should be saved for one kyouko and ren admit their feelings to one another .True and kyouko would rather die than lose to shou .

That's right Kyouko does care for Shou for example if he were to get injured i'm sure she would be worried and Shou as well although most of it is because he is vain like i have explained and as you have said .Also as you said those two are childhood friends it isn't like their feelings for one another would vanish like that although more than lovers those two are like siblings who love to argue with each other but to me it is clear that from kyouko side there is no romantic feelings at all and shou love is a shallow one .

It isn't just because of her age but also because of her personality she was shown to be rather realistic and somehow bitter yet at the same time she think ren has fairy DNA ???? but i think it is part of her charm

Yup and not only is she good at work but she is also serious girl and like you said love shou for himself and not for his money .If the author pull something like it will be epic to see shou rage ^^

Ah okay it seems like i didn't pay attention i thought the accident happened on set so someone did it . That's a very good idea and yeah if her mum is a famous lawyer she will have nothing to do with a car accident . A fated meeting between mother and daughter at the hospital .

Ya ,i'm expecting some great moments in this arc between ren and kyouko i have a feeling it is "i don't care" but i hope it is the second option .

I hope that kyouko won't back down if her mother start bad mouthing her and she will show her what she got .I'm hoping she sees kyouko perform and get stunned and like i said before i hope all of those who know kyouko will also stand up for her. At the end of this arc i hope kyouko will gain confidence in her acting since it is clear that the reason she doesn't think highly of herself is because of her mother .If she does i'm expecting her to take her acting to another level maybe will see her play other roles than villains and of course i hope she will be more open toward ren cause if he got a positive response i'm sure he will make a move since he is starting to forget his "i don't have the right to be happy " thing

Thank you so much kat i didn't see those since they aren't translated in english her meeting shou was funny and it is sort of sad that him who knew her his whole life didn't recognize her but reino did

the ren story with the girl was also quite cute and it is a fact that whenever he show his godly smile it is because of kyouko

the pillow side story was so freaking cute the pillow and ren are a mismatch but how cute and i hope he find out about the pic but if he does kyouko may jump from the window ^^ by the way if you have the raw for the pillow side story please send me a link

    4. Yup, I also think it's part of her charm and it makes this series fun to read ^^ You know, not 'ordinary' characters and the fairy tale stuff is deeply ingrained in the series..starting from chapter 1.

Indeed..and you know, I'm starting to think that her mother has no intention of seeing her so the possibility of her badmouthing her might not happen. It seems that her mother has already given that responsibility to Shou's parents. Like what Kyouko and Shou think, Saena didn't come to see her from the time she learned of Kyouko's address. Instead, she informed Shou's parents and it is Shou's parents who are going to check on her. If that is the case, I'm wondering how the reunion and possibly, 'mend up ways then probably part ways again' will happen.

Shou did say that reality isn't beautiful so Saena might not be the typical mother in other series who beg for forgiveness and stuff. Assuming she has always been a amazing and cunning lawyer, I'm thinking that she knew what she is doing and the consequences of leaving Kyouko. And, she is probably standing by that decision - I did what I did is right.

I'm not too sure if her confidence in acting has something to do with her mother. I assumed that it is because she is just a newbie..it has been just almost one year and she's comparing her level with Ren's. ^^; I think Ren has let go of that 'don't have the right to be happy' after the kiss ^^ She had made him accept what had happen as something positive like what Shou did to her = the outcome turned out to be great.

Lol, Reino did probably because of her aura. =P No problem ^^

The pillow side story has been English scanlated actually.

    5. Ya kyouko is the most charming shoujo heroine that exist i think the only one who come close to her is Lele . The fact that she isn't perfect makes her human and thus likeable characters that are drawn to be saint are so boring and annoying and sadly almost all shoujo heroines fall into that category (naive ,idealistic ,submissive ,forgive everything even the murder of one father) and at the end of the day you can't relate to those characters and you ask yourself why am i reading this ?

That's right but i really hope she didn't go because of something like " after leaving her behind how can i show my face in front of her" rather than "i don't care for my useless daughter if kyouko gets rejected by her mother again i don't think she will be able to take it i mean she is strong yes but one shouldn't forget that she is still a kid and that's not easy having your parent reject you .

That may happen but like you said before SB isn't like kanjo which is very realistic .I'm not seeing that SB isn't realistic but is quite fluffy in a sense that things ends always well .

I think kyouko issues of confidence have everything to do with her mum for whom she was never good enough .Look at her acting she is doing great yet when other compliment her she doesn't believe it .When she gets into her role she is wow but outside of her role she really lack confidence .It is the same thing with love even though some told her that ren loved her and sometimes she noticed that he indeed does care more than a senpai should care for his kouhai yet what does she tell herself no way a man from heaven like ren would love me ? so to me all those issues have something to do with her mum that's why i said if she faces her ,her acting as well as her feelings will probably grow .Is she comparing herself to ren ? what i get is that she is trying to reach ren's level i also remember during dark moon she was very upset when she was said to be better actor than ren .I also think that's the case what's left for ren in order to turn a new leaf is to face tina and throw away his watch .

He also has spirtual powers so that's why by the way since i was so shocked that i had missed such cute side stories i checked and it seems like there is one more i didn't read the one about reino when he was holding hostage one of kyouko's vengful spirits and he grew fond of it and even made it his cell's strap^^ and i must be the only one but i prefer reino over shou

      Thanks ^^

    6. Lol, sofia...well, most probably we read those series for other reasons =P Before, I find myself reading just for one single character = the plot is 'wha?' and all the other characters are 'wha?' of course, that led to a 'wha?' ending. ^^;; That was before..now, if a series isn't up to par, bye-bye..too many other series are out there these days.

Indeed...though she seems to have already been preparing herself that her mother still rejects her...and she couldn't believe if she acted otherwise. Of course, thinking/believing and wishing might be different. Even if it is a fact, there ought to be still part of her that wants that acceptance, right?

True..in a way, it isn't too realistic yet not too unrealistic. Nevertheless, it is fun to read and re-read all over again.

Ah, it seems that she is comparing her acting with Ren. It isn't good enough unless it is like Ren's..who can easily fool her round and round, etc And yes, now that you've mentioned it, she is already at the level wherein she can do the same to Ren and even Shou but she doesn't seem to think that she is already a great actress. About the Dark Moon, her acting wasn't at the same level yet as Ren's so again, wasn't it like comparing it with his = she isn't that good enough? At that time, Ren can already make co-stars act according to how he wants. Kyouko wasn't able to do that yet. Lol, she even believed that he is so 'god-like' that he can teach her how to model even if he is a guy =P

Hm..thinking about it, correct me if I'm wrong, does Kyouko have problems with confidence? She seems to have more problems with rejection/abandonment. I mean during auditions and how she 'create' the new roles, she doesn't seem to lack in confidence..she just don't have that much experience in acting to know how to tackle it.

Ya..and probably tell Kyouko who he really is ^^

      Hehe, is that so ^^ Well, Reino is a fun character..though he can be creepy as a stalker =P Hm..I didn't seem to have read that cell's strap story. ^^;

    7. well most of the time i read it for the characters because nowdays it 's rare to find an interesting storyline like AOT all of the mangas that are published resemble each other .For example the plot in SB isn't that great but what make the story so awsome are it's characters .

Ya and even if she prepared herself for it doesn't mean she is gonna take it well right ?

Ya it is i do re-read some chapters of SB when i have time and i don't get tired ^^

ya she wants to be like ren who can fool anyone once he gets into his role and even in his everyday life he is playing the role of ren .Ya ren can easily get the other actors to dance to his tune and kyouko can now do that like with amamiya .Lol ren is a man from heaven well in a nutshell kyouko is very talented even if she doesn't it herself .

Well how do you call someone who clearly has talent and not only in acting but don't believe others when they praise her because she think she isn't that great what do you call that lack of self confidence ? low self esteem ? anyway do you get my point ? but i agree on all what you said when she gets into her role she is someone else .

I don't think he is creepy he is supposed to be a sort of vampire ? he is very funny and weird ,oh i thought for sure you had ,so now did you read it ? what did you think of it ?

    8. That's right..prepared herself and how one reacts when it happen can be different.

      Yup ^^

Hehe..being humble? Yes, I get your point.

No..the time when he was chasing after Kyouko that she ran out to the woods..then he is unzipping her dress. He was cute in the coffin though ^^

      Sorry, I couldn't find it. ^^;;

    16. Firstly, I apologised for butting in your discussion, but after reading them I got this ideas.
I think Amamiya's accident does have connection with Sanae. And as one of you mentioned before, Sanae might be apologising to Kyouko in an unconventional way. I'm thinking that since the staffs at the Box R set didn't really know what really happened and only knows/heard that Amamiya was involve in an accident, it might be that the one that was really hospitalised was not Amamiya but someone else (might be the comedian) but somehow Amamiya is involved in it. The comedian might suing Amamiya thus Sanae representing Amamiya as an apology to Kyouko.

As for Sanae's abandonment and not looking for Kyouko, I won't be surprised if it turns out that there is a good reason for it. After reading this chapter, I can't help but feeling that no matter how Sanae treat Kyouko she still care for her in her own way (sending money and making sure that Kyouko is left behind with a good family who cares for her, keeping in touch with Shou's parents). It seems that the manga-ka likes to play around with the ideas of abandoned child (the Heroine in Tokyo Crazy Paradise was also given out by her mother as a baby).

With Shou, I think he is genuinely love Kyouko, it's just that he's showing it in childish way. Yes, it's also because he doesn't want to lose her to Ren or Reino, but I think he does love Kyouko even before he just took her love for him for granted thinking that no matter what he do Kyouko will never leave him. Then Ren and Reino shows up and he realised that he might lose Kyouko after all.

    18. @ Anna you are free to butt in ,this is what his place is for discussing chapters and theories ^^

That's a good theory i also believe that someone is gonna get sued but i don' think it is amamiya since it feels like the one who got injured is her .

What good reason except she was too busy with her job to care for her kid .I also think she cares for kyouko but giving money isn't enough as a child and teen kyouko need a mother not money .

About shou i do believe he cares a lot about kyouko but to say that he truly love her i disagree like i explained for him what matters is not the way she feels is the fact that he is the biggest existence in her life .Do you remember Valentine day where he noticed that kyouko gave ren special attention he stole her first kiss just to piss ren off and to make sure kyouko only would think of her he did that by stealing her first kiss and in shoujo it is a big deal .So i can't take him or his love seriously since he is vain and self centered .but he does care and i think they are more like bickering siblings than lovers .

      Delete
    19. No problem, Anna ^-^

Possible though honestly, I'm not too keen on this sue stuff. Court stuff will make the series sidetrack. Even if it is just to 'sue' preliminary before being put to court and for them to meet, I don't think Japanese people tend to easily sue people. Based on the stuff that happened to Kyouko, I think she can pretty much sue most of the characters here for 'damages'. =P

True..it shows that she still cared and it wasn't total abandonment. Hm..good point on that and I guess she'll improve that premise here. ^^

      Probably, though even as sofia mentioned above, he can still be quite vain and self-centered so I guess, given his personality, that might be his 'best way of showing love' with 'loving self' coming in first place? ^^; Though, like what sofia also mentioned, it can be viewed as bickering siblings..though there are bickering lovers. ^^;;

      Thanks for reading them ^-^

  12. What has occurred to me is this, if her mother told Sho's parent's where Kyoko is, than wouldn't Sho's parent's have asked Sho himself why Kyoko isn't with him. That itself is what interests me. I want to see their reaction and thoughts on what happened between the 2.

    1. sandy, now that you've mentioned it, maybe because Shou's parents are smart, they had already realized what happened.

True..if they are love Kyouko as a daughter, they probably hug her and apologize for what their stupid son did. With this mangaka, anything is possible..it can be dramatic or even the other extreme, funny.

      Delete
  13. THANK YOU for the summary Q_Q I was already dying of curiosity to find out WHY Shou had apologized >_>
But I think the money Saena sent was around the time Kyouko was still at the ryokan, no? For Sho's parent's troubles of raising her, I mean. If she ran off, I'm thinking the money also stopped.

Knowing this mangaka's previous works makes me see that EVERYTHING will be alright and have a good ending.
......... Wich I DO NOT aprove. I really don't want to see Saena being a good person in the end after making Kyouko suffer for 16 years. Nope. I'd rather have her, I dunno, see Kyouko off or something and go back to Kyoto and never talk to her again.
Ren can heal her wounds, like she healed his. If Saena were to say 'I was young and had you and we lost your father too soon and sudden and I felt lost and powerless and I was wrong, i'm sorry and--' NO. I DON'T FORGIVE YOU. I've been reading this series for more than 7 years already, and Saena's shadow always meant bad news. I don't want her to suddenly say she was confused and-- urgh, it makes me feel sick just by thinking about it.
'I always cared about you' NO.

    1. Thanks for reading, Yuki ^-^ Hehe, is that so.

Yup, and I think Shou's parents have the decency not to accept it when Kyouko is no longer under their care.

I see, you want her to stay as the bad mother, right? Well, about seeing Kyouko off is still possible even if she turned out not to be like that. Maybe something like 'filling in the gaps' over why she left, etc. About not forgiving, that is also possible because up to now, Kyouko cannot bring herself to forgive what Shou did..what more her own mother.

Anyway, I think it will be that kind of ending since this is a feel good series. Of course, given how the mangaka tends to go about things in a non-cliche way, it probably won't happen like that. I mean, Ren's 'healing' also happened differently than how it is usually done.

      Delete
    2. Yes, I'd rather have her keep her bad mother face. I really can't see how all this will turn out to be okay without her finding one excuse or another for her behavior when Kyouko was young.
And I don't think Kyouko has to 'forgive' Saena, since her wounds about her are way too deep to just forgive. She's not angry at her mother like she's angry with Sho, she remember she felt worse than shit when was young and those scars are way too deep to just brush it off as anger, let alone to forgive. She has to see her mother in a completely new light and accept her all over again as a new human being. I don't see anything ending up well with them, seriously >_>
But Nakamura-sensei does have THE UNEXPECTED on her side (like you said about Ren's healing), so you never know >_>
ME accepting it all will depend on how sensei'll handle the situation, tho D:

    3. True, Yuki. Thinking about it, it seems that she is keeping it for now, the 'bad mother' impression. I'm been thinking that your scenario doesn't seem to jive with the 'amazing and cunning lawyer'. Unless it is afterwards she changed, to that description, I would assume that she knew what she is doing and didn't regret it. If she did, she would have already come and see Kyouko to beg for forgiveness, etc. But she didn't which reinforces in Kyouko's mind what kind of mother she has.

Also, it wasn't her but Shou's parents who are coming to see her and felt it is their duty to check on Kyouko. It makes me think that based on what Shou said about reality not isn't beautiful. Maybe the mangaka is aiming for a realistic turn of events regarding this issue.

      True..it might be that..see her mother in a new light..depends again what is her mother is like now or is she still the same as before. I'm starting to think that it is the same as before. I'm not sure if there will be forgiveness if her mother didn't ask for it since she perhaps believed what she did is for the best for Kyouko. Of course, it is debatable if 'she did left her because Kyouko doesn't met up to her standards and cannot deal with her = always making Kyouko cry for not satisfying her mother' is better than 'total giving up on Kyouko and let Shou parents take care of her since they are more capable = still make Kyouko cry'. ^^;

      Hehe, I see.

    4. Well, we learn by experience with this manga that EVERYONE wears a mask over their true feelings, right? I'm guessing her mother could as well be the most cheerful and loving person outside, just to shun her daughter when she were home. (yes, I hate her very much q_q). I know that we're seeing everything from Kyouko's POV and all, but isn't that enough? People's true nature shows when they're dealing with things weaker than them >_>

Yeah, I didn't get that part well, but they ARE coming, right? But so is Saena, at least for work. And this is just nerve-wracking. The slight CHANCE they might meet? D: Augh, my poor heart.

I'm positively sure she's the same D: They didn't even meet the time Kyouko needed the signature (I'm guessing she sent it via letter?), let alone worry about her "frivolous daughter who's showing off around the world" < betting that's how she's thinking >_> It didn't click me until I read some of the comments here but Saena actually LEFT HER TO LIVE with Sho's parents?? I thought that time when Kyouko was crying about being left alone was just her mother leaving for work or something, not abandoning her. THAT MAKES ME EVEN MADDER D:

      ~Yuki

    5. Hm..it depends, Yuki. Of course, this might be a different case but with Maria, she also had a bad impression with her father after what happened and well, of course in that case, it is just a one time incident whereas for Kyouko, it seems to be throughout her childhood. Being a 'cunning and amazing lawyer' somehow doesn't make me imagine a cheerful and loving person. ^^;; So yes, most probably that is indeed Saena's true nature that even Shou seem to also accept it.

Seems like she is unable to take care of a child. With her personality and being cunning stuff, she must have thought that Kyouko is better off with the Shou's. So yes, she was indeed abandoned when her mother is leaving there. That is why Kyouko tends to react that way and now calls her as 'that person'. She still needs Corn the rock when that issue is mentioned.

Indeed, Kyouko most probably sent it by letter. I think her mother should be famous now so Kyouko can easily find out her address. And, from our discussion, I don't think she is going to ask for forgiveness for what she did. She might be like 'I did what I think is the best'. Though, when Kyouko is a bit older, I do wonder what Shou's parents told her why her mother left her or did her mother really left her for good.

Yes, Shou's parents are coming. Saena, probably yes for Kanae's shooting. There is a possibility that she is already in Tokyo = where she works. But from how things are, it seems that she won't deliberately go see Kyouko.

      Delete
    6. haha I said cheerful and loving as an example, but I really can't see her like that too, anyway >_> Well, yeah, Maria's father regreted thinking it was Maria's fault and all, but he did it IN TIME, like you said. One or two years is nothing compared to 16, right? T_T

Yes, yes and yes D: Gawd I can't see how this will turn out well >_> And I can clearly see them bumping into each other some time or another, even with Kanae certainly trying to make them NOT meet D:

    7. Oh, I see..Yuki. ^^; That's right and there was no intention to patch things up.

No problem and thanks for taking time to comment ^-^

    8. Well, her mother might not recognize her, but Kyouko will see her mother RIGHT AWAY D: Even if she's, I dunno, BLOND >_> I'd recognize the face of the person who destroyed my life even if they didn't have a face anymore D:
But it IS a good point. Supposing Saena didn't check on whatever Kyouko's been doing (with some motive as to 'find out how she is disgracing my name' or something, I'm betting), I don't think she'd ever find out the Kyouko standing next to her could be her daughter (assuming Kyouko wouldn't back out like she did when she was a kid and stood up as proudly as her acting skills could make her).
Then, this opens up all sort of possibilities! Just imagine, Kyouko suffering like that and having to feign cheerfulness and so on right in front of her mother! Oh my god, imagine LORY seeing that! What would he do? Could Ren come back and see it too? (it'll take at least another year for us to see Ren, tho... :<) Aaah, I'm getting nervous ><

  15. Kat..... your comment after the summary is the reason why I like your site.

I did post a comment on Akaiito chapter coz I didn't know where to post a response to your latest post. T.T

Also, not all good mangas on raffmanga are translated. I'm sure you have checked them out. Good example is Sleeping beauty. It's just raws. * whisper*

Anyway, about this chapter........ we're about to learn about Kyouko's past. this is what I remember..... all the time Kyouko was with Sho's parents, it was okay with her. She didn't get any care from her own mother anyway. But Kyouko herself revealed that she was there as Sho's future bride. We also know that she was in love with Sho, so when she was asked by Sho to go with him to the city, she didn't hesitate . After all, she was actualy being groomed to be his bride , anyway. the question is, was Sho aware of that situation? In the end, aware or not, Kyouko was dumped , just the same. With that in mind, I can see why Sho is a bit uncomfortable that his parents are going to try to get her back to Kyoto, and has seen fit to warn Kyoko about it. And his parting words are totally out of character..... he says to go to where you want to go.

I think we are seeing now Sho's acceptance of Kyoko's dreams, even the fact that Kyoko is in love with Ren.

I hope we get an ending soon, but I highly doubt it. Although I'm sure it won't be when I become a grandma. I hope not.

Anyway, kat, pretty please replace the ones you've cancelled. there are hundreds and hundreds that are actually good but have not been translated, not because they are unpopular... but because the group scanlating them have no time, and willy nilly abandoned them.....

    1. =)

      That's fine, megaworthit ^^

Yes, Shou knows it. Contrary to her knowing it, it was Shou who know it, iirc. When he was talking to his manager, he mentioned about not wanting to marry that boring, no charm something girl that his parents want who turns out to be her. That is when Kyouko realized that she was that person whom Shou wanted to avoid that he would rather be a singer and go to Tokyo.

I think that it is because they have their dreams so they shouldn't let anyone hinder it. I'm not sure if he is saying it as a 'childhood friend' or 'being in the same industry'. Maybe, he wants her to still stay in Tokyo?

Acceptance of her dreams/goal, yes, possibly but in love with Ren, for now, I don't think so.

Ah..I don't think it is going to end soon.

      Hehe, for now, only two are dropped. ^^;

    2. [Kat- Acceptance of her dreams/goal, yes, possibly but in love with Ren, for now, I don't think so].

Well Kat is right on both points. However my interpretation of what is happening is 1) Shou would rather have Kyouko be focusing on her goal not as a "childhood friend" or a "peer" but as someone who still wants to possess her. If she were to leave the "showbiz" and go back to Kyoto, it is natural that she will resume her life by going to school, to college and then wanting to have her own family (her grudge towards Shou will melt and he will lose his presence in her heart), whereas if she stayed in the same business, all her efforts would be directed towards succeeding in order to defeat him (which means that he'll occupy an even bigger presence in her mind and heart). This is what Shou wants, in matter of fact, when threatened by the possibility of losing her to someone else, he almost confessed his feelings to her twice (in the "Unexpected Romance" arc and the "Valentines" arc) but stopped short from doing it when he realized - from his own perspective - that no one's presence in her heart is bigger than his. He is her prey.

To that we might add that he cares for her in his own way (by rushing to her side to comfort her, he tried to make it up to her for all those times he couldn't comfort her when she was a child, because he couldn't figure out how to handle such situations. She also did rush to his side when his songs were plagiarized by "Vie Ghoul", hence he has a debt towards her ...).

      2) There are so many incidents in this series which show that he gets irritated whenever a guy shows an interest in her, especially Ren (he did go out of his way to tell him that Kyouko said that she'll never fall in love with him in the "Dark Breath" arc, so it is "no-no" to the question of knowing whether he has accepted her feelings for Ren or not.

To sum it up, Shou's dilemma is that he realized that he likes Kyouko but at the same time he knows that he was a jerk with her and because of his super size ego, he can't come forward and confess like ordinary guys so the only thing left for him to do is to bind her by making sure that he remains her "prey", a person whom she carries a grudge for enough to make her put all her efforts into defeating him in the "showbiz"

    3. Yup, RoseFleur..it does seem to boil down to still thinking of him since that goal was created because of what he did.

Indeed, it is like even if things ended up like that, they had been together for some time and perhaps, before he realized it, even if he doesn't seem to have any romantic interest with her before, it doesn't mean that he totally not care for her.

Yup, that's what he is doing it.

    6. Kat, about Kyouko " not" knowing it, and it's only Sho who knows about it....... I remember Kyouko admitting that she was being groomed to be Shou's bride. I think she thought about this at that part where the people involved with Box R was wandering where she learned the fine art of Japanese culture ( how to bow, etc ). I cannot be sure where exactly I encountered this, but the words " being groomed to be Shou's bride" were the exact words that I remember reading, and it came from Kyoko.

I understand Shou warning Kyoko about his parents coming to get her..... To be fair to Shou, for Kyuko to go back to Kyoto with his parents can mean one thing..... Kyouko might go back to being his bride to be.... but he didn't like that for Kyoko.... he actually told her to go where she wants to go..... even if she won't be with him. I have a feeling this is the point where Sho has already accepted that he has already lost, but wants Kyoko to have a little bit of him in her heart. It's sad, actually, but he had been a piece of work , and there is no way he can be allowed to be the ending guy.

    7. Yes, megaworthit, Kyouko knows but it is only after Shou mentioned it in chapter 1. Based on your re-telling, I thought you mentioned her knowing that she is being groomed to be Shou's bride, then went to Tokyo with Shou. ^^;;

Hm..that's another way of interpreting it. I'm not sure if Shou's parents would be thick-faced enough to make Kyouko marry Shou after what he did to her that they even have to apologize to her mother about it. I don't think he has already accepted it since he is keeping that 'bet' alive. But true, based on things and everything so far, Ren is obviously 'the one' for her.

    8. Kyoko figured it out when she performed that tea ceremony, when she thought about how only the Mistress of the Inn ever did that for the guests, so why would she be taught the ceremony. Remember, she even collapsed in the hallway in shock afterwards. She realized she was the old fashioned plain girl that Shotaro didn't want for his bride.

  16. hahaha! I love how Kyouko threw away Shou's apology so easy. Your additional comments make the summaries so much better (and they're already super good!).

    Thank you for your time.

  17. God why another cliff hanger? I just want Nakamura-sensei to write a normal chapter just once......... GRRRR
Anyway I think Saena has something not good ready for kyoko, and hopefully chiori is okay or not badly injured at least.
I wonder if kyoko will call Ren asking for comfort regarding chiori`s accident, or Ren will call her after the president tells him thinking that she probably feels very bad.

You think so, like what would Saena do? Hopefully.

Maybe..though I think it is somewhat unlikely..making Ren worried when he is still busy with his work. Hm..though Ren is a professional so he might be able to work while worrying about Kyouko and wanting to go back asap.

      Possible.

    1. Sorry, I don't recall this she doesn't like being left behind so she cannot return corn's feeling. ^^;

I think that if he goes to the US, he is going to bring her along with him. He isn't going to risk leaving her with Shou. Also, I believe the family issue is for them to progress further and grow or else, it will take a very, very long time for this manga to finish.

  20. thank you for the summary Kat! as always you're awesome :)
i was wondering,if Sho parents aks him to check on Kyoko then thats mean they know that the two of them not living together?
about Amamiya incident it is happening in the set or when she's heading to the set of Box R? sorry,i'm not that understand when reading that part.
Shou is like usuall, very stupid!! to me,it seem that he is support Kyoko choice for being an actress and finally doing what she want for hersefl and not doing it for others like in the past.
and i have a feeling that this arc is revealing a LOT about the truth and secret that happening in the past.
well, good for the summary. thank's again Kat :o

Yes, they know since they asked him to do that. In a way, the address is a restaurant so they would think that Shou isn't with Kyouko especially since Shou is now a huge celebrity. Or, since they are smart, with that information, they knew that Shou abandoned Kyouko.

When she is heading to the set/shooting. 'They tell her that on the way to the shooting, Amamiya got into a major accident..' So I'm assuming that it is a car accident.

Yup..or because he doesn't want her taken to Kyoto. Actually, he might still think that he is doing it for him because of her revenge against him.

Indeed, I think it will and it's good since we are really going somewhere even if the pacing is slow ^^

  21. Thanks Kat for the summary!!

Okay so we know Saena is Kyouko's mum but what about her father?? I recall Kyouko once saying that "A parent can truly HATE their own child" and there was too much truth in her words (as mentioned by the president). This is a crazy assumption but what if Saena was raped? It's horrible to think so but WHAT IF?? I can't think of any other reasons as to why Saena would HATE kyouko so much and want nothing to do with her...

Ah, the rape would be quite farfetched. If she hated it so much, she would have opted for abortion, rather than bringing her up to a certain age then abandoning her. It wouldn't make sense..or rather, I have not heard of such a case.

Like what Yuki mentioned, it is pretty much assumed that her father is dead. She says, 'I don't have a father' so Maria apologizes and Kyouko says that she's okay with it. It is in chapter 19.

  25. I also just want to thank you for always doing this. I've been reading these for years and i agree that you're commentary makes the experience a lot better. So Thanks and please accept my anonymous love and gratitude. You da best
As for how these two scenarios tie in together, i think it has to do with the fact that Chiori is in the process of deciding who she really is, wants to be and where her passions lie. Kyoko is obviously going to have to fight for her "new Kyoko", the new version of herself as well. She cant go back to Kyoto.
The fact that Chiori has explicitly acknowledges Kyoko as the "immortal butterfly" and realizes her talent, even in spite of herself at first, makes me think that Chiori has to play a role in helping Kyoko realize her talents and her dreams. Everyone else has admitted that Kyoko is scary, or special, but not in the way that Chiori, and also Lory, has. Maybe Chiori will be a director and not an actress. She has had an affinity with the directors in her past. She has to know how important they are and i can definetely see her talents leaning in that direction.

Yeah this is definitely a way to delay Saena's entrance and Sho's parents. B/c lets face it, one day can take up to half a year in real time for skip beat. So that day it takes for Sho's parents to arrive is gonna be a long one. It the way Nakamura torments us all.
And i am just so happy that REN WILL NOT BE THERE, geeze he's been the center of the series and on the covers for years at this point. I was so glad when he started accepting his good side but I'm also glad that Kyoko finally has the chance to fight for herself and without him to influence her too much this time.
Sorry for the rant, but this felt like a safe place.
As always, thank you for the awesome summaries!

    1. Thanks for reading ^-^ No problem with anonymous ^^

Hm..is that so. I didn't know that directors tend to lean on 'discovering of people's talents'. In a way, I think almost everyone whom Kyouko encountered, including those other 'small' actresses who made things difficult with her realized how amazing Kyouko is. Her talents might lean towards that direction but maybe she'll know it later on? I got the impression that she really likes acting. Though, she did mention about the 'immortal butterfly' so maybe it might be somewhat related in this arc.

True...and maybe, Ren will be there when Shou's parents are coming. ^^ Hm..not really..you think so? There are some arcs that do not have Ren until the end or at the start. But yes, it would be nice if Kyouko can fight and handle this herself. If ever, maybe just a little help from Ren ^^ Well, you know, something like she helps him and he helps her but for the major part, they help themselves ^^

No problem, it's okay to disagree/rant here ^^

  26. Thanks for the summary!

Even if I do miss Ren, this arc is really interesting and even without him phisically he is in Kyoko´s mind. Kyoko´s mother and Sho development, wow! I think the series its reaching slowly its conclusion...

I didn´t expect Sho to be more on this arc... And its so funny to see Kyoko hating him even when she decided to forgive a little this stupid guy. Her mini Kyoko´s don´t lie, she has such a love-hate relationship with him that is starting to get a little brotherly or its my sole imagination? O.o At the end I think he will be like a brother for her they already fight like one pair of cute siblings. I also have a Love-hate reaction for this guy, he is so stupid that I can´t hate him but sometimes he gets on my nerves because of his behavior of macho men with Kyoko (I hate playboys but I hate more the posesive type and he seems to be one of those).

I can´t wait to see Sho´s reaction when he gets to know that Kyoko loves Ren... (Evil grin) There will be a hot bishounen fight!

Yes...and the key word is 'SLOWLY' =P So who knows how slow that will be ^^

True.. in a way, probably. I'm thinking of it that even if that kind of thing happened...they did spend a lot of time together. I'm not sure if this analogy is right but something like a marriage for a long time then a divorce but later on, they are kind of 'friends' in a way? But bickering like that can be like 'siblings' ^^

      Hehe, is that so ^^

Yup ^^ That ought to be something to anticipate for.

  31. Hooray! Thank you for your wonderful summary and commentary, dearest Kat.

Our heroine is developing quite nicely. Although I am extremely eager for her love with Kuon/Ren to progress, I appreciate the mangaka's dedication to round out Kyouko's character by having her growth tied to how she responds to the various people whom have caused pain; biggest offender: Saena and Shou. C'est la vie. Ah! What if the tiny monsoon transforms into something even bigger that Kyouko heads to America to see her 'father', Kuu! And then, somehow, Ren/Kuon follows after her. Since the filming of BJ is seemingly a success, he may be ready to visit his parents. Oh, the possibilities!

Ah, probably..though I think her father is already dead. When Maria asked her about her father before, Kyouko says, 'I don't have a father' so Maria apologizes and Kyouko says that she's okay with it. It is in chapter 19.

      Delete
    2. we know nothing about kyoko's father, is he dead or still alive. saena seems to be the type that didn't explain anything. he can be her lover, her husband, or whatever. i wonder, was kyoko an "accident"? what is her reason for abandoning her? will she point out that kyoko didn't have parent's approval for entering showbiz? this is going to be long, but i want it to be resolved.

      Delete
    3. But from chapter 19, wasn't it implied that he's dead? Kyouko says, 'I don't have a father' so Maria apologizes and Kyouko says that she's okay with it. Usually, if someone says sorry about that..doesn't it usually mean the person is dead? Or, Kyouko would have say, don't apologize, he's not dead yet. She also didn't look for him or anything..if he is still alive.

Honestly, I hope she doesn't meddle with Kyouko's career..and I think by abandoning her, she has surrendered the right to meddle with her life.
