Free Talk: Skip Beat [Chapter 272]

It turns out that Kanae is going to ask Kyouko to help out with her English. Somehow, I’m thinking, ah if they only knew that there is someone who is really good at it. =P Hm...but if Kanae knew, would she ask for his help?

It is confirmed that Mr. D is indeed Tora. He might be an important character later on. Since it was mentioned that he made several actors and models world famous...are Ren’s parents part of that? Did he encounter Kuon before? Most likely, he will help Kyouko become world famous ^^

We will have a new character, Cedric who is into the ‘ideal Japanese woman’/perfect woman. Kanae does fit it based on the external appearance but Kyouko fits the personality...when was into Shou. According to this site, this is what a Yamato Nadeshiko is:

• she is feminine;
• she is chaste and devoted to her husband;
• she always respects and obeys her husband and never opposes him, even when she thinks he's wrong (she should wisely find an indirect way to prevent her husband from doing something wrong without letting him know, that is to say without humiliating him).
• she looks weak, delicate and gentle (like a flower) outside her family, but is able to cope with housework, raising kids etc.
• During the second world war, the Japanese government promoted the idea of yamato nadeshiko as a kind of national propaganda. A yamato nadeshiko should be gentle and delicate but also be able to endure all the pain and poverty of life for her husband (a soldier) and the country, to win the war, and should always be ready to fight with halberds (or takeyari, a spear made of bamboo used when you don't have a halberd) and to die any time for her country, or to keep her chastity.

That is why Kanae’s reaction is like that. Still, if she manages to act like that, even if she dislikes it, and get the role, she has leveled up ^-^ Ah, wait, actually, she can more or less already do it during her LME audition with the phone call.

Perhaps, it is to do this while ‘loving’ it ^^; Ah, technically, did Kanae fail her Love Me mission since she didn’t get in Lotus? So, is this one the make-up/substitute?

I’m still wondering if Cedric was the one whom Kuon had a problem with before. Since he is the grandson of Tora, it seems unlikely that he is. I guess we’ll only know for sure if we see Ren’s reaction when he hears the name. And, for Cedric to be involved, that means, Kimiko will return. I actually wanted that since Kyouko still hasn’t ‘paid back’ what she tried to pull before.

Fama [a reader] commented in the last chapter about Kyouko being in danger and Ren saving her. It made me wonder if it might happen with Kimiko and Kuon’s ‘enemy’. After all, both has no qualms in hurting people even if it is possible that it will cause the death of the said person. That is assuming that Kuon’s ‘enemy’ has the intention of killing Rick when he hit him with the car. Haha, an action scene perhaps, in the future ^^

Kyouko is revealing a lot there. I’m sure Kanae has already connected the dots. Kyouko even mentioned about what she knew as Bou. I’m not sure if Kanae has already confirmed the other side. That is Ren loves Kyouko. Kanae already has a hunch about it on the special chapter.

Anyway, any talk is postponed again since Kyouko’s over active imagination got the better of her again and she ran away...just like before, actually. Before, it was because Ren is angry and now...the fear that Ren loves someone else. ^^;

So, why would Kanae stop Ren from chasing after Kyouko? That would depend on if she is rooting for this or not. I get the impression that she isn’t since she isn’t into love and stuff and wouldn’t want to see Kyouko like that. Or rather, perhaps, it actually depends on what she thinks of Ren if Kyouko is better off without him.

Even if I’m somewhat disappointed since there is no romantic progress, I start to wonder what the mangaka is aiming for. I get a feeling that everything is being set-up for the eventual change of setting and that is, they will be going to the US. I’m not sure how Kyouko can go because of her drama schedule. The rest can.

Anyway, it got me wondering, will the mangaka go for the ‘love confession’ and/or ‘you’re actually--!?’ reveal’ before, during or after dealing with Ren’s ‘enemy’ in the US? Will it be before or after meeting Kuon’s mother? Meet up with Tina? Is it possible that Kyouko’s father is also in the US? Will we get to see Beagle again? Did I miss anyone? Any other loose ends that has to be tied up? ^^

And, we wait again...hoping a bomb will be dropped...before new year or earlier. 😉
