Kono Oto Tomare [Chapter 70 - I ]

It’s morning. While washing his face, Chika recalls Satowa smiling after receiving the flower. Yawning Isaki calls out to him and says that he’s so early. “There’s no practice today, right?” Taking a face towel, Chika says that it is nothing, he’s just already awake, that’s all.

Isaki goes hm... “What had happened between you and that ojousama? *Chika freezes as he covers his face with the towel* Yesterday, you went straight to the room and start to wildly play the koto. *Chika opened the door and played the koto quite fast*...

...Afterwards, you immediately took a bath and after that, you went to sleep. *Chika quickly ran off and say ‘take a bath’ and then, he ran off and say ‘sleep’* Did something happen~~ Chika-chan? *holds Chika’s shoulder* Come and tell it to Isaki-neesan, come on...come...”

Taking off the towel from his face, blushing Chika screams that she’s so annoying. “It’s nothing! Nothing at all happened...” Then, he is shocked to see Isaki in her full naked glory. Isaki asks, really~~it’s useless for you to cover it up. Chika shouts for her to cover herself up!! Isaki says ah, she forgot. <- she sleeps naked.
In the classroom, smiling Tetsuki asks Chika, so, how was yesterday? Chika angrily asks how come he and Isaki are asking him about what happened yesterday.

Showing him a picture of scowling Chika in a suit on his cellphone, Tetsuki says that anyone would ask after seeing this kind of picture. “Isaki-neesan, Sane, Michi and even Kouta sent it to me--” Chika angrily slaps away the cellphone which flies on the window before falling down.

Later on, Chika is now sporting a lump on the head. Tetsuki says but, isn’t this quite good since everything are progressing quite smoothly. “Are there no problems with the new members?” Chika says huh, ah, it’s okay, right? Recalling the meeting with Natsu, Tetsuki thinks that it seems that he was worried for no reason at all.

Chika stiffens when someone calls out to Satowa. He looks at Satowa talking with someone. Then, he quickly looks away and faces the window. Tetsuki notices this. He sees Chika's slightly blushing and scowling expression. Tetsuki goes, ha---eh eh eh?
Flustered Chika asks what is it. Amused Tetsuki says no, it’s nothing. He recalls the angry look that Chika used to sport back then when he found him in the rain. This made Tetsuki look out the window and slightly smile. “Today’s weather is really nice.”

At the club room, Hiro and others gushes as Satowa shows them her new cellphone. They say that she’ll finally start using a smartphone. Blushing Satowa tells them that her mother bought it for her and said that it is a commemoration gift for the news conference...

Hiro exclaims that’s great then she can also use LINE [internet messaging app]. Kouta asks her if she have already downloaded the LINE app. Satowa says that her friend helped her do it a while ago. Hiro tells her to add them in friends’ list.
Kouta tells Chika to quickly come over. Then, Chika sends his contact to Satowa. Upon seeing his name on her phone, Satowa blushes and smiles. Looking surprised by that, Chika is about to hold out his hand. Bang. Chika suddenly throws himself on the locker door and hits his head. This surprises Kouta and Satowa.

They ask Chika what’s with him. “Are you alright!!” Chika says that it is nothing. He thinks that he almost extended his hand. “This is bad... it’s possible that my hand is possessed by something. Really bad, it’s possible that that I’ll do that kind of thing again...!!”

The door opens. The teachers have arrived. Akira greets everyone. Suzuka says that everyone is there. To Suzuka’s irritation, Chika screams in his face if the piece is done? “Did you finish writing it? Quickly give me the music sheet. Quickly...”
Suzuka slams the music piece on his face and tells him to keep quiet. Holding the piece, Chika says that this is the piece!? “...‘’?” [read as ‘wa’; means ‘and’, ‘together’, ‘harmony’] Suzuka says that it is written as ‘’ but it is read as ‘あい’ [ai; probably similar to or 合い = together].

“Tentative ‘I’ (temporary) had official become ‘Ai’ []. This is the complete version.” [<- In a way, the piece is the same since the letter ‘I’ is read as ‘Ai’] Everyone are excited because finally, it arrived, the complete version.

Soon, everyone holds their own respective copy of the music sheet. Michi exclaims that this is Suzuka’s composed piece that was specially written for them in its final form!! Sane shouts that it’s amazing, it has nine parts [/musicians]. “Wow, it’s so cool!”

Suzuka says that in passing, regarding the newly added parts, Atsumu is in charge of the sixth koto while Natsu will be in charge of the third 17 string koto. This surprises Satowa.
Kouta and Sane exclaim in disbelief that Natsu is going to the play the 17 string. Natsu says that he recalls that more or less, the 17 string has the same function as bass, right? Sane exclaims that’s right! Satowa thinks that indeed, perhaps, Natsu is really suited in playing the 17 string.

Suzuka tells Natsu that Takezou and Sane also play the 17 string so he can go ask them about it when Akira isn’t around. Natsu says okay. Takezou says that even if he said that, it is also his first time to play 17 string in this piece so they should strive their best together.

Natsu smiles okay, yoroshiku. Takezou and Sane think that Natsu learn things so fast so they have to strive hard so that he won’t surpass them. Looking at the music sheet, Atsumu thinks that he will play the sixth koto.

He looks at his VI part and recalls his grandpa playing and the others’ concert before. He is so moved since his part (place where he fits in) is here. Sane, Michi and Kouta curiously look at Atsumu who covered his face with the music sheet.
While Chika looks at the music sheet, he thinks that there are too many tadpoles [/notes]. Then, his eyes widen. He calls out to Suzuka and says, this... Suzuka asks, yes? Flustered Chika exclaims that each one of them has a solo part...!!

Everyone look surprised by that. Suzuka says, yes. Sane exclaims if that is for real, that’s so amazing-!!! Someone shouts that it is his first time to have a solo part. Hiro tells them that it is basically the first time for most of them.

Sane laughs and says, for real...so amazing...a solo. Michi says they’re the leads... Flustered Kouta looks at the others and laugh. They all laugh and exclaim that it’s amazing, a solo is a solo!! Akira smiles over this.
Flashback: Akira exclaimed in disbelief that all nine people have solo parts and isn’t it such a huge gamble. Suzuka laughed and said that is true. Akira nervously said that one cannot deceive [/be covered by others] in a solo.

“One must totally depend on one’s own strength to control the audience. It is an extremely difficult skill.” Suzuka said that’s right. He smiled and added, “It is because of this that I want to listen to it.” End flashback.

Akira thinks that she really doesn’t know what to say about this person... Suzuka says that they are noisy yet happy. Takezou thinks that all nine people have a solo... Chika thinks that this piece... They both think, “Each one of us are the lead...!!!”

The two look at each other with a stupid smile. Chika shouts what he is smiling at, glasses, it looks really gross. Takezou exclaims isn’t he the same.
While the others are all hyped and enthusiastic, Natsu quickly browses the music sheet. He thinks that it doesn’t matter to him if all nine people have solo parts and if they can capture the audience.

“By the way, thanks to the music staff, I can understand this a lot. There are so many complicated sections that needs per part [/musician] to mutually match with each other. Ah...but then, it turns out to be like this, AS LONG AS ONE CAN IMMERSE INTO THIS THEN ONE WON’T RUN OFF. [Basically, the other one will keep the other’s playing in line to play the piece smoothly]...

...Just one look, it seems that the most troublesome part is the last section. There is also the part wherein I have to match with the fourth part [/musician]. If the sense of rhythm is no good, then it cannot be played well.”

He calls out to the others and asks who are responsible for the fourth and fifth koto. Holding up his arm, Kouta happily exclaims that he is the fifth koto. Chika tells him that he’s the fourth koto. Aghast Natsu thinks, “No way. And besides, the sixth koto is [Atsumu] right...” He glances at Suzuka and thinks that he is a nasty character. [<- sadist]
He sighs and looks at the music sheet again. He looks surprised upon seeing the words ‘Fill In’. He calls out to Suzuka and says that in the part he is responsible for, this Fill In...does koto have that kind of thing? Kouta asks what is Fill In.

Natsu says that it primarily appears in the performance of drums. “For example, when changing the music, in accordance to the drummer’s feelings, one would add more notes to the performance as one wishes... It is more or less like that.” [<- from wiki, a fill is a short musical passage, riff, or rhythmic sound which helps to sustain the listener's attention during a break between the phrases of a melody.]

Kouta is totally puzzled by what he said so Natsu says that it is something like improvised playing. Kouta exclaims, what, that is so cool to death!! Michi asks if there is such a thing in koto playing. Both Satowa and Akira says that they never heard of it.

To Sane and the others’ aghast, Suzuka happily says isn’t it very interesting that way so he added it. Natsu asks isn’t it not quite appropriate to assign this kind of role to a beginner like him. Suzuka tells him that if he felt that it is difficult, then it is also okay not to add that in.
After a pause, Natsu says that he’ll think about it. As Natsu turns around, Suzuka watches him with a smile. Satowa tells Akira that in the middle of this piece, only at Atsumu’s part, the technique had suddenly become classical style.

Akira says that’s right, the problem as a whole is to have a considerable improvement by a wide margin. Soon, the two are burning. They think that it looks like they have to train them to death... Aghast Sane says that those two are burning...

Michi says that their killer aura is emitting out... Suzuka says that’s right, he remembered... “Do you guys plan to train during Golden Week?” Surprised Takezou exclaims yes, and they did a bit of planning... Suzuka tells them that actually, a few days before, he met up with Hakuto’s Yamamoto-sensei.

Someone exclaims why. He tells him that he called him regarding composing. “Afterwards, right now, it seems that Yamamoto-sensei had succeeded his family’s inn. *someone exclaims in surprise* He said, that if you guys are willing, you can go to his place to train during Golden Week.”
Everyone looks surprised. Someone exclaims if that is for real, he would want to go!! Michi asks where is it. Suzuka says that it is at Yamanashi and they can go for three days and two nights. Someone exclaims that’s amazing!!!

Takezou tells him to wait, about the expenses... Suzuka tells them that place has a building that is about to be refurbish and no one is using it. “He said that if they don’t mind it, he’ll lend it to us for free. So, you guys only have to pay for the transportation and food expenses...

...*Sane and others are blushing in amazement* It will do for each person to pay 3000 yen.” Takezou and Hiro look surprised by this. Sane and others exclaim if that is for real and like this, they can go!! “It’s so amazing- I can’t wait for it- Ya--”

Takezou exclaims to Suzuka if he made a mistake with his computation. Suzuka asks how could he compute it wrong. Aghast Hiro exclaims no, yesterday, she and Takezou listed all sorts of quoted prices, and even if they omitted the accommodation expense, 3000 yen is not enough!!
Suzuka asks what does their quoted price table list have to do with him. “In short, there’s no problem. *shooing them off* Just quickly go and decide on the itinerary.”

While Takezou wonders how did Suzuka computed it, Akira asks Suzuka if he is planning to shoulder most of the expense. Smiling Suzuka says that he is simply shouldering it a bit. Akira quickly proposes that she’ll shoulder half of it.

Looking surprised, he asks her what she is saying for they cannot make an external club coach pay. Akira tries to protest. Suzuka tells her that compared to that, he hopes that she can wholeheartedly coach them to play ‘Ai’. Looking surprised, Akira says, yes, of course! This made Suzuka smile.

Takezou asks the others if they have ideas about the itinerary. Someone suggests that they go in the middle of Golden Week in consideration of the vacation crowd. Kouta asks Natsu when he is free. “We’ll fit it in accordance to your work shift.” Michi agrees with that.
Smiling Natsu apologizes and says that he won’t be participating in the training. Sane and others are in shock since he isn’t going. Michi exclaims that like always, he’ll go to work rain or shine!! Natsu asks isn’t club activity compulsory. Sane says even if they said that.

While the others look tense, Natsu thinks that it is possible this kind of rejection is indeed too persistent on doing one’s way, but actually, I have no way of staying together with someone [no matter who] for 24 hours in a day---”

Chika casually says that even if it isn’t compulsory but if he isn’t around, it will be troublesome for them. This surprises the others. Chika says that just now, didn’t he ask who is the fourth and fifth koto. “That is because in the latter half part, it seems that the part you’re responsible for together with the fourth, fifth and sixth koto is very difficult, right?”

Aghast Kouta exclaims if there is such a thing. Gesturing the music sheet to Kouta, Chika tells him to look at this, even if he doesn’t really understand but look at the tadpoles jumping so intensely... Kouta exclaims that’s right, and it’s so scary!
Chika says that it is like this before when he and Glasses TOOK TURNS IN PERFORMING. “Like this kind of section wherein the parts [musicians] mutually match. *Suzuka, Akira and Satowa look somewhat surprised by Chika’s explanation*...

...During training, everyone needs to practice together with everything one has, in order to grasp the feeling of playing it right, as soon as possible. So without you, we’ll be very troubled. *looks at surprised Natsu*...

...In your practice, it is indeed possible that you don’t need us around [/my sound] but during my practice, your sound is necessary so you also come [and accompany me to the end].” Natsu recalls his bandmates telling him to at least show up. He seems to realize something.

Takezou tells Natsu that he doesn’t have to decide right away. “You also have to think of the training expense so how about telling us tomorrow since it won’t be too late even if you change your mind?” Recalling his three flustered ex-bandmates, Natsu wonders if it is like that. “It is only now I understood the real meaning behind the words those guys said.”
Returning to his house, Natsu thinks that it is really bad... He is surprised when his mother welcomes him home. Removing his earphones, he asks her why she’s home and isn’t she on night duty today.

His mother says that actually, it is like that but she was asked to switch shifts with someone who’ll have a night shift tomorrow. “Ah, dinner is done. Do you want to eat?” Natsu says yes, thanks. While eating, his mother asks how is the taste. Natsu tells her that it is delicious.

His mother says that’s great. “It felt that it has been a long time since I’ve sat and ate together with you like this. If I could, I would want you to eat pipping hot food everyday. I’m sorry.”

Natsu says what is she saying. “You’re so busy at work yet you always didn’t forget to make a meal for me [/still worry about my meals]. With that, I’m already satisfied.” This made her mother smile a bit. She tells him for a few days during Golden Week, his father can free some time.

Natsu says is that so. She continues to say, “Afterwards, all three of us will eat together. Look, we still haven’t celebrated your entrance into high school, right? You can also tell me what you want for a gift. Is the latter half of Golden Week okay? Your father also wants to see you--”
Natsu recalls Chika telling him that during his practice, Natsu’s sound is necessary. After a pause, Natsu apologizes and says that during that time, he’ll go join the club training. This surprises his mother. She asks, club activity...? Natsu says yes, he joined a koto club.

His mother asks, koto...? He tells her that it is club wherein one plays the koto. His mother is surprised to hear this. Somewhat flustered, she says, is that so...she totally didn’t know...

Natsu apologizes for he always missed the opportunity to tell her. “So, how about the two of you eat together on Golden Week?” His mother says, is that so... She asks him how much money does he need for the training camp and also the club fee.

Putting away his bowl, Natsu stands up and says that it is alright, there’s no need. His mother tries to protest but he tells her to just send his regards to father and he’s finished eating. His mother can only sadly sigh as he washes the dishes.

At school, Kouta exclaims that Momoyan is going to join the training camp!? “Wa- That’s great-” Natsu apologizes because he told them yesterday that he won’t go. He glances at Chika. Chika tells him to familiarize himself with the 17 string before the start of the training.
Natsu smiles and says okay, he’ll do his best not to hold him back. Chika complains that it doesn’t make him happy that he said that so confidently. Natsu laughs.

Sighing in relief, Takezou says that in short, all of the members are joining. Satowa says that is a relief. “Yesterday, I glance at ‘Ai’ music sheet as a whole and I can see that to be able to play this piece well, all nine of us are indispensable.”

After looking somewhat surprised, Takezou says is that so. He thinks that even if they don’t quite understand Natsu’s situation but during the training camp, there will definitely a lot of opportunity created for them to mutually understand each other. “It isn’t simply Momoya-kun’s but also our own.”

Then, he calls out to everyone that they start practice. At Chika’s house, Isaki reads a notification regarding koto club’s training. Isaki says that this is really nice since he’ll go training at a onsen [hot spring] inn during Golden Week.

While writing something, Chika says that he isn’t going to have fun there. Isaki says that even if it is like that, it makes one envious. “Can I also go— Anyway, I’m also free.” Chika says sure. She asks, ha?
Chuckling, Chika says that he heard that one has to make their own meals so she can come and do that. “Ah- but better forget it, your level of cooking is basically--” Toink. Chika now sports a lump on his head. Irked Chika asks him what is he writing until now.

He tells her that it is the training’s tasks and objectives. “Takinami said to think about it before the start of the training.” Isaki takes the paper and says that she’ll look at it. Chika screams for her not to look.

Chika wrote, “Perfectly play my own part! Will totally learn the anpu anpufu [music sheet; he is writing it wrong since it should be gakufu] from the heart! I’ll play it to startle Houdzuki that she’ll really jump so high! It will be so awesome that it will also startle Takinami and Doujima that they’ll jump! I’ll play it remarkably!! Kudou Chika.”

Isaki mutters that he is really a stupid kid... Chika angrily asks, wha!? Narration: “—Then, the early morning of the first day of the Golden Week training camp--”
Comment: Hehe, Chika is already showing the symptoms. =P His ‘parents’ [Isaki and Tetsuki] have already notice it. Haha...maybe later on, there will be more serious symptoms aside from his possessed hand. =P He managed to divert it all by screaming his lungs out to Suzuka about the music sheet.

On a side note, ‘Ai’ is actually also ‘love’ in Chinese which is Chika’s name . I don’t know if that is a coincidence or deliberate. The ‘Ai’ piece is really difficult based on what they talked about. Everyone has a solo part. That is really a gamble and a lot of guilt trip for the one who failed to pull it off since it might cost them the Nationals championship.

Yet, if they pulled it off, the reward is what they always longed for. Next, Natsu has to play together with people who has good tempo and he has to team up with Chika, Kouta and Atsumu. So aside from that, I guess they’ll be bonding together too. Perhaps, if Atsumu got attached to Chika because of ‘grandpa’, maybe in some way, it would be ‘father’ for both Chika and Natsu.

It is interesting that Suzuka put in some ‘fill in’ for Natsu given his familiarity with drums. In a way, that is indeed something extra which can impress the judges especially since no one in the koto world does it. I’m sure Natsu will do it since it will indeed be a challenge for someone like him even if he is just a beginner in koto.

Then, there is a part where they have to play classical technique. Yup, it will definitely be difficult for most of them. But again, that is indeed a plus since that will also definitely impress the judge who are biased towards the traditional techniques.

So, it turns out that it was Taishin whom Suzuka talked with on the phone regarding the composition. It is two birds with one stone since they also got a place to practice. Maybe three birds because somehow I feel that Mio might take this opportunity to stalk Chika. That’s an opportunity for laughs. And maybe, he’ll help the group with some tips...ah, help them in some way in his own eccentric way. ^^;

I think that Suzuka is generous enough to help them out with the expenses so that they don’t have to worry about other things and concentrate on their playing. Actually, I think he did it as a bit of payment because it would be such a delight to his ears if they can pull his piece off.

Apparently, Natsu is just using work as a convenient excuse since he cannot stand being with people for a long period of time. What Chika said about the tadpoles is quite interesting since he can somehow know what is happening in the piece by just looking at those tadpoles.

He basically said out loud what Natsu was thinking earlier. And that line about needing him seems quite important to Natsu. He recalled that line and decided to skip meeting and eating with his father along with his mother on Golden Week.

It made me wonder if they or the father made him feel that he wasn’t really important. Hm...did his father re-marry or something? I don’t get the feeling that the reason why the father is missing is because he is working especially since he and his mother have to work. Still, his mother is trying her best to cope with the situation.

Maybe just like what Takezou thought, the training camp will give them more opportunity to know more about Natsu. As for Chika’s goals, I wonder if he’ll pull them off. If he does, it would be an amazing scene. ^^ Anyway, aside from the training stuff, maybe we’ll get some laughs and romance since they’re going to an onsen hotel ^^ Scans by 二次元秘店

  1. thank you very much for the translation , I always love training arcs so i'm looking forward to golden week, i assumes natsu has some sort of difficult financial situation but it seems that he is both trying to avoid people and not burden his mom with the financial aspect of school plus he don't seem to be close to his dad which will be interesting to see it develop into some background on chika's own family. hahaha i love how suzuka surrounded natsu with all the random koto players , he will have a hard time also i really love the fill in part because it is both original and natsu has felt as a fill in all his life so for once for the word to have a positive meaning is a meaningful thing. people like suzuka are interesting because once he became interested in this club he is giving it his all and even paying for the students i did hope that the school will increase their club budget after advancing to nationals last year ut perhaps they can better negotiate on this next year. lol i love how tetsuki and isaki act like chika's moms and it will be funny if isaki really came to the training camp. so it was hokuto's teacher my guess was correct i think mio will make an appearance because why not? thank you

And I, too, love training arcs

    2. Thanks for reading, emmahoshi ^-^

Training arcs...for this series or in general?

      Yup.

Aside from random koto players, I think they can help him with whatever Natsu lacks. They may not be amazing players for him but they have a lot of heart. ^^ And, perhaps, Suzuka is hoping that Natsu can also help them in their playing =P In short, mutual benefit.

      Yup ^^

Hm...is that so. I always thought that the students are on their own regarding club budgets. ^^; But of course, use of school facilities or perhaps, sports equipment would be free. The only requirement I recall is to at least have a certain number of members or the club is disbanded.

Haha, good point. Indeed, they're 'moms' ^^ Yup, especially because of how she sleeps among other things =P

Yup. Thinking about it, perhaps, if the last arc has Kazusa, this one will have Mio as 'guest character' ^^

      =)

    3. i like training arcs in general but i like them more in this series because there is a lot of character development in it, for example last time with kouta, to be honest more than achieving special moves or something i like seeing people develop in training arcs.
o course they will help him i think natsu lacks a lot of human interaction (which i wouldn't say is 100% necessary to play the koto but it is definitely important for him to live among people.
i don't know but i think i was reading from a different manga where school allocates some sort of budget for the clubs and those famous clubs (won national or advanced ) do gt some extra budget or perhaps this only happens with cultural festival budget and i'm confused , i do hope someone who knows Japanese school system can clarify
i'm glad the whole kazusa thing didn't develop towards the jealousy lane as other typical manga do

      thank

    4. I see. Personally, I don't like training arcs since they can be boring like learning a new technique after 'beating up' the lead to force it out of him. Of course, it isn't so in this series with the reasons you mentioned. Thinking about it, I also like training in Slam Dunk.

      True.

      I see.

      Indeed ^^

      =)

    5. you know Slam dunk (high five ) ! my entire childhood is based on watching the whole Slam Dunk series for over 10 times and then when i discovered manga , reading the series for multiple times such a rare gem . i think the best training arc in slam dunk was when sakuragi was learning how to shoot close to the free throw zone , a hilarious arc

    6. Yup ^^

Is that the one when he got a one on one lesson with Coach Anzai? ^^

      I didn't read the manga past what was animated. I couldn't read through since they lost in the end...and was forever waiting for a part two which never came. ^^;

  3. Woohoo! Your summary is out and the piece is done, two things I've been wanting drop from this chapter and now they're here. And the added Satowa-Chika and Suzuka-Akira moments were an added gravey to this meal. ;)

I'm really impressed because I honestly had no idea how Suzuka was going to manage to follow-up on their Tenkyuu performance in the premliminaries. But doing it this way definitely seems to have met the expectations with 9 solo pieces. I really wish an anime or at least a new music CD would release and get uploaded online so I could hear what that would sound like.

Glad Taishen is coming back, after the whole Inn inheritance thing I was a bit bummed for him so it'll be good to see him after all that and keep him semi-involved in koto music for a little while longer. Also it would be HILARIOUS if Mio showed up now that you mention it. Make it happen author-san! And as always, very much appreciate the work you do to put these out Kat. Thank you again :D

      Yup ^^

      Thanks for reading ^-^

  4. Such nice surprise, my thoughts on this chap. are very similar to yours, and I don't know about koto, but normally, you only hear everyone in a band do a solo in jazz/blues, it's very rare, also hard as hell to pull it off and not sound boring/tiresome to everyone else who listens.

Nice to know Natsu finally understood what being in a group/band means, much more if he always filled the support role. Also nice to notice that at least his mothers is someone that worries about him and not that cliched of parents that don't care about their kids.

And hell yeah, give us some nice tender love, we need it! There's like, three pairing if we count SuzuXAki, now.We crave for it, give us love. TakexHiro can even go one and have a lip touch if the author do things right! Oh gawd, just imagining, I'm feeling like a 14y shoujo heroine, lol, that's creep as hell, lol.

Yea, sometimes just getting off the bed is one hell of achievement in itself, but thanks Kat. I'm bit better today, at least enough to reply comments and emails that I left unchecked for some days and try to play some games. So far, not a single word about the surgery, but we'll keep trying anyway, no other way around.

Well, if the fisherman were bribed, then I can't say anything in their defense unfortunately most will reap what few have sown.

That police abuse is fairly common in underdevelopment countries, even some developed ones, but I gotta say that most of the times, that I've seen at least, they're "justified" 'cuz if not for the roughness, the bandits will always have it their ways. That seems to be true around here, and where the "human rights defensors" are louder.
    -
Nah, he made a joke. He might be no expert in the matter, like the ones that drowned this country claim to be, but he clearly knows at least the very basics in order to govern or to his credit.
    -
I don't bet anymore since I'm trying to stay as far away as I can from it, like I said, I'm a former footballer myself, and my career was suddenly butchered by injuries caused by other players, so whenever I see games or such and remember my own ability and compare to most of those players I get angry 'cuz I was way better, lol. But yes, there's betting alright, but it's more of an individual thing, like my in law bet with his boss and things like that. Gambling is prohibited here, so you gotta be careful or bribe a bunch of people. Or, if it's just gambling with no money, then it's alright.

Yea, those are the normally ones, plus some croquettes and all kinds of cheap sandwich, sometimes even hotdog, too.

Yea, he really ran me dry that day, but it's 'cause it were more of family thing, we all gathered together and did what we could and knew how, but he and his wife were the ones that paid for everything, we just did the labor, lol. And I was bartender in both means, poured and mixed drinks.

Only the wealth ones do that kind of thing, or the really patient and dreamy ones that have to save money for years, I myself only been one of the kind, and it was really boring tbh, I guess you can't take the "poordom" out of me, uh? lol.
    -
No, I took the people that couldn't go by themselves, relatives too. There were bunch of people that didn't have their own car and such things.
    -
Aaah, people love to be late here, too. Another thing in common, uh. Too bad it's only bad things, lol. I think they get kinda intimidated by my ogreish look or something, or aren't used to someone telling truths that no one wants to hear, lol.

    1. Indeed, Fê.

Lol. Maybe it will happen during the training camp =P Actually, would there be progress among the couples aside from training...it is an onsen inn after all ^^

      - - -

Yup and it's great that you're feeling okay again. Yup, just keep on hoping and praying.

      - - -

Yup. The issue had died down already.

Indeed. Though here, the 'bad guys' aren't exactly protected like how it was in your country. If a thief or rapist is caught, the people would want a hand in beating the guy black and blue.

These days, the human rights are about police not in uniform killing drug user suspects. They claim that it is in self-defense even if the victim is unarmed. One time, they shot a guy who was in handcuffs. Or, the guy is just hanging out, police swoops down and he ended up dead. They forgot to turn off a cctv camera.

Another time is police kept a small secret room in the precinct to make 'criminals' confess or whatever blackmail. They were made to do their thing there including taking a bath since there is no toilet. Men and women are mixed in that small narrow room. I forgot what excuse the police made then.

Currently, there are just way too many bad apples among the police that it makes one think, are there even good ones? It is a way of frightening people like say, I'm the police. So to prevent trouble, people keep quiet and shut up. Like say, the murderer of my cousin was an ex-police. His siblings let him be to avoid trouble since that guy might know hired killers, etc and who knows what he might so.

In a way, that is how it is here. If one feels helpless and the authorities are of no help/it will be more troublesome, just let it be and pray for divine justice/karma. As I mentioned before, it also costs a lot of money and time to pursue a case.

Oh, it is common for police here to have pot bellies. Is it like that there? They kept on having exercise programs to keep fit. It always fails.

      - - -

      Haha, I see. Sorry, I didn't notice the sarcasm. ^^;;

      - - -

I see. About gambling, is that as a whole like no casinos and stuff? Here, there are govt sanctioned gambling like casino or lottery.

      - - -

That's nice ^^ Did you learn how to mix drinks?

Haha. I guess because there is less interaction? Like, sit, eat and watch.

      - - -

      Oh, I see.

      - - -

Haha, it's the same there. I think most wouldn't want to hear the truth if they believe lies = something they benefit from or pride/ego will get hurt.

    2. It is quite similar, but here, the bandit is always the victim and the police always the culprit. There was this time when an armed minor stole a car and was crashing and causing mayhem in the roads, the police officer had to shot him - after he was shot twice - to stop his rampage and in the end the minor end up dead 'cause the police officer had an accurate aim. Then, all the press, mass media and human rights representatives got over the case and demanded the officer to be removed and etc. It wasn't the first time the minor had committed a crime, mind you, his father was in jail and his mother is an addict hooker that didn't even know where her son was 'cuz she was sniffing bad cocaine at the time. But still, all media presented the case as the police officer being the bad one, as if he's not suppose to apprehend and stop bandits, especially when shot.

At least people there have a reason to 'hate' police and they want justice when a bandit is caught, here, tsc, I get all disheartened just thinking about it.

Oh, some time ago, bandits'd wear police uniforms to assault people, houses and banks.
      -
No, there's no casinos here. There're clandestine places that take bets and so on, but not legally.
      -
Nah, I only mixed the simple drinks, I mean, the only thing they wanted was caipirinha and that's fairly easy to do, sometimes one or other asked for something else, but it was mostly easy things to do. Nice was when people asked to surprise them, lol.
      -
Yea, I'm not into that big fancy things. I'm a simple man, always was, always will be, lol.
      -
Aaah, if they benefit from something, I doubt they'd tell the truth that'd cause a cut in what they benefit, unfortunately, I'm not so naive anymore to believe in the well and good of mankind.

      Delete
    3. Indeed. You mentioned before that person is already out from prison, right? Was the police removed in the end?

That is common here. Not only police, they at times wear military uniform. Oh, snatchers can also be well dressed so that you won't notice something is odd. It probably happens there too. Like you go in a restaurant and put your bag/important thing at the next chair. While you are busy eating or talking, a customer sits beside you.

Then, s/he quickly snatches the unattended thing and passes it to a companion then swiftly leave the establishment. They always show this 'trick' in the news of a certain network.

      - - -

Oh. So they take bets on soccer? NBA? Is basketball popular there?

Ah, is beauty pageants still popular there? Here it is. Of all the international pageants, the all-time favorite is Miss Universe because you know...it's 'universe' ^^ There's always pressure to win that one.

      - - -

      Hehe, and the surprise is?

      - - -

      Haha ^^

      - - -

      True.

      Delete
    4. Yes, he was demoted.

Really? But where do they get those uniforms? I mean, they should be very well made if not, no one would believe it, right?

I never saw it, but I'm pretty sure there is.
      -
Soccer, basket isn't much the thing here. But the people that like it, man, they really like it and I bet they bet, lol.

Those aren't a thing here, it's just mentioned and if it's a brazilian, they make it to the news, but not much coverage.
      -
Always change it, you mix a bunch of thing not even you know and serve it, next person asking to surprise, do the same thing, but with other ingredients that you also don't know, lol.

      Delete
    5. Oh.

I think there are shops that sell them fake uniforms. It was an issue before. There are some civilians who wore uniforms but only one got sued. The military said that it is because the others are fake while the one person wore a real one. Probably borrowed from a military person.

But then, if rebels wore it, they can steal it from real soldiers. Haha, I think stealing uniforms ought to be real easy since they can steal bullets and weapons from the military. I forgot if it was stolen or some traitor is giving/selling the military stuff to the rebels. They found out when they traced the bullets...it was part of the military's weapons based on the serial number.

If the rebels catch the police, the police will willingly give all their weapons and armor car to the rebels without a fight. That is one reason why the military hates the police...giving the rebels the weapons that will be used to fight the military.

      - - -

      I see.

Oh I see. As I mentioned, pageants are popular here whether it is for women, men or gays.

      - - -

Haha, I see. No complains? ^^

      Delete
    6. Here, they sell fakes one so you can cosplay or whatever, but it's very different from the official ones that soldiers and police officers wear, so you'd know as soon you saw it, these I told you before were wearing official ones - it seems that some of them were cops/soldiers before and then decided to go rogue, at least that's what was said by the press.

Why the police'd willingly arm the rebels? That must be horrible living like that, rebels everywhere, military people spread around, corrupt and incapable gov and bandits, too. Do they sell you to the military or to the rebels if you speak your mind about something and that something goes against their beliefs? If so, I'd be dead in 3min, lol.
      -
Oh, they never come back after a surprise, lol.

      Delete
    7. I see. It's possible. There are such here, police or military and it seems they don't return the weapons/guns given to them for their service. We have a lot of loose firearms here. Lot of unlicensed guns because they make it so hard to get a license due to bureaucracy.

Well, it is fight or give up. They give up and easily give the rebels the weapons. It is also possible that some are undercover. Before, it was found out that a policewoman is the lover of a terrorist and she was helping him get out when the military are closing on him. The military did their best to keep him alive so that they'll get information from him.

In the end, the police killed the terrorist when the military surrendered him to them <- probably to keep him forever silent, and kept the policewoman from being interrogated by the military. We [public] never knew the extend of their undercover and operations.

Yes. More so if you are 'influential'. Actually, not just for your beliefs, you can easily be killed if you have an enemy among the police or military. It's very easy now. They'll just frame you.

That is what's happening here. Some people are wrapped with packaging tape like mummies, signs of torture sometimes and gunshot wounds. They have a sign, 'I'm a drug pusher/thief, don't copy me.' How are we to know if he really was a drug pusher or whatever criminal.

For others, they'll just put a gun near you along with some sachet of drugs and say, this guy is a drug addict. He tried to fight when we arrest him so now, he's dead. Almost all, that is the alibi. And we get to know things when they got sloppy and we saw the truth on the cctv camera.

I think it is like in Mexico or Columbia...as they say. It is rumored that the police knew the drug pushers since they are working with them like sharing the loot or even, into drugs. The police are killing them to shut their mouths.

If you speak your mind, you'll be threatened, shamed, etc. If you are in government, they'll try to remove you even in illegal ways.

      - - -

Haha...is that good or not? Good like, wow, it tasted so great, they're immediately knocked out. =P

By the way, there's no KoT this month. =(

    8. There some cases like those you speak of here, but normally, there're just criminals crying so that those of the left that love human rights go to them and make a huge storm out of very small cup of water.

Yea, those countries are dangerous, especially Columbia, and I mean it.
      -
Well, most are just found lying somewhere so we never know if it were good or bad, lol.

Oooh, that's bad indeed. Is there a reason why?

      Delete
    9. Hm...is that literal crying or crying = whining? So far, I don't see that though. Our prisons are so full that they take shifts in sleeping say...only for four hours in a night. I don't know what they eat though. But most of the time, there are diseases, etc. Aside from being beaten up and bullied by hardened criminals/gangsters. I'm not sure if the rape stuff is true though. But, I guess maybe partly.

If you are rich, you can get in a cellphone, make a karaoke room, jacuzzi, etc. Lately, we even learned that someone in prison masterminded a ransom for kidnapping. An ex-senator in jail is stupid enough to put a selfie on FB. Haha, they have no choice but to make a show that his cellphone is confiscated.

Until now...it's dangerous? Not an exaggeration? I recall before that when we are in US, I asked if we can like cross border Mexico - mentioned in some travel guide for side trip. They immediately say NO. And, I read about parking the car near the border so that it won't be stolen and stuff.

      - - -

      Lol

I think the mangaka is having health issues. Before, when there was a break, it was a forced health break/rest. The comments from where I read the news is asking if she is okay, she should rest, etc.

But it seems that there will be news in the next issue. People are speculating that it might be about an adaptation...anime or live action perhaps?

      Delete
    10. I was stupid and careless again and lost all my post, so the tldr version is, I don't care about prisoners and prison conditions if they're guilty, and they cry literally and whiningly for their human rights, but when they committed their crimes they didn't think about their victims rights, so I have no sympathies whatsoever, though I believe the rape stories must be true.

Also, the same applies here if you're rich, famous or politician, you get all the commodities that make it look like you're living in a spa or something.

Not an exaggeration, unfortunately, it is pretty dangerous in this countries, Brazil included, ofc.
      -
Do you think her health issues are related to work or did she already had an unstable one for beginners? Anyways, hope she recovers fast, I know that mangakas are almost slaves, but her work must always come in second or third, depending if she has family like husband or kids.

      Delete
    11. Oh...too bad.

Hehe, I see. Here, they don't actually cry about it. People would say you deserve it especially if caught...unless you are a politician going for 'sympathy' so that the soft-hearted and gullible people would think that it is persecution and vote for you again...once you get out of prison =P <- true story, it happened and keeps on happening.

      Yup ^^

      Oh, I see.

      - - -

I don't know. Remember the previous break, it was also health-related. So, I wonder if this current break is related to that previous health ailment.

      - - -

      AoT. I'm somewhat confused as all sorts of info are being dumped. Or basically, what are they thinking/goals? The cockroach is back and seems to have become a psychic. ^^;;

      Delete
    12. That tactic seems to be really well practiced to be done to this degree of mastery, it keeps happening again and again and the only excuse is: it was persecution? My, we live in a world with all kinds of wrong, indeed, lol.
      -
I just hope she can get better, than she can worry herself with work, but get better first without rushing it, these rushes can cause the downfall of the health really easy, as I think was in my case, too.
      -
Family of cockroaches, they just won't die, though I don't think anyone was willing or going to kill the kids, yet. And really, I can't have Reiner in panels anymore, and as a psychic now? Jesus, I can't, it's bad enough, really bad that Sasha died and the goddamn author keep rubbing it in my face this fact, now Krysta is just a broodmare, especially depressing after seeing her acting out with Mikasa being nobility - which in the worst case scenario will end up just like her, another broodmare for political ends with this new greed eastern country resembling all kinds of periods of Japan.

Really liking Eren though, savage as hell, like I want to see. His banter with Hange was kinda nice 'cause she's kinda crazy and always talk some kind of nonsense, but I think the info dump issue is because the way the mangaka chooses to write/present the chapter. Normally, when it's a flasback, authors use a black layer, future thing/visions etc a grayish and ordinary blank for the rest, but he just uses ordinary for everything and mixes past, present and future all in one chapter, so it gets kinda hard to read. Like now, was Hange implying that she was there - at this time line - to talk to him before or was it the first time they met and Eren, ironically was in prison, too? With the patience I'm having with this manga, I won't go back a chapter or two to confirm if she was there before or if she's reminiscing of the first time they met, unfortunately, Sasha dieing, Gabi as new Eren at his worst, Reiner still alive and now broodmare Krysta and possibly political things and despair for Mikasa, without having a kid with Eren and seeing him also dieing - as it's the most logical of things as it is, it killed me inside for this series, only read it 'cause I when I came here to reply you, saw you're saying info and though maybe that was something good - there was, but not to my tastes, lol.

      Delete
    13. Yup or 'I was framed'.

      - - -

Indeed. In the long run, it is win-win. I mean, there are series that ended abruptly [/no ending] due to mangaka's health issues.

      - - -

Haha, true, he is indeed rubbing it in your face. I guess that part is about how there was 'peace' between the two race thanks to Sasha and food. Consolation prize?

Ya. I guess it was a contrast with Eren. Krysta succumbed to 'realities'/'eaten by the system' for what she came to believe is for the good of everyone. While Eren is still resisting 'fate'. But then, perhaps, she doesn't think Eren can pull that other way off so she decided to be the 'back up plan'.

Hehe...true. Perhaps...though I really find the drawings distracting. It is like dead fish eyes are staring at me and I struggle to figure out who is this person again. Lol

Well, for me, it's the art. And, somehow, I no longer feel anything for the characters ^^; Haha...perhaps, that kind of feeling is what the mangaka is aiming for.

    14. Lula still claiming that, even with all the proofs against him, testimonies and so on, and yes, people believe him and want him released right now. In fact, they tried to do just that through some scheming, taking the change that most of the judges and ministers of the case were taking "some days off" due to the WC, he really, really almost got off.
      -
The only one that I know of is Yuyu-Hakusho, by the same author of HxH, it is said that he was ill and tired of working so he just ended right there and, pardon the figure of speech, fvck it, deal with it - knowing all too well his manga was the best seller at the time, so the editors had two choices, firing him and risk him writing for another magazine, or deal with it - they chose well in this case and dealt with it, lol.
      -
No consolation whatsoever, only sadness, lol.

Yea, I too believe that back-up plan, but her dead eyes at the end were too heartbreaking to this old man here, even more when it was shown how much she appreciated Eren standing up not only for her, but that the time it seemed only for her. The only other one who did that was Ymir, iirc.
      -
Think I said before, his forte isn't drawing the pics, but depicting the atmosphere. I remember very well one time he draw Mikasa's hand so small that looked like a kid had drawn instead of a pro mangaka.
      -
The contrast you said between fighting the system and giving up + Eren/Gabi and maybe, just maybe, Reiner's pov as we did the same to them, not once, but twice were the good things I said it had, but again, not to my tastes, lol.

      Delete
    15. I see. But then, is that in finality? Or, there is still a chance that he'll be released?

      - - -

Haha, I see. In my case, it is Nana, a shoujo manga. We never knew the ending since the mangaka took a health leave and it seems to be very serious. And, that series is ending. It has been so many years already.

One Piece mangaka has also gotten sick so iirc, they are making him take a leave once every month.

      - - -

I see. So, what could have happened in between that she decided to do it.

      - - -

Haha, is that so. I guess I cannot smoothly concentrate on the story since I would think, who is this person again, why is her/his expression like that.

      - - -

I see. Hm...by the way, since Eren got that power, do you think he'll start using it to force Annie out of her crystal?

Ah yes, why did he suddenly go to Marley again? ^^; To bring Ape titan to them? Making warhammer as food is a side trip? It wasn't to make Krysta continue the cycle? Or, it was because he left that Krysta was forced to do it? Lol, see, I'm kind of confused over what's going on.

Then, they bring ape titan there...for what? Put him in the forest? So, that's another titan down? Why not make Eren make him titan food? Why are they turning against ape's people after getting the titan meds? They want to do things on their own? That...flat earth something weapon?

      Delete
    16. If we were to speak solely about the justice and it's system, there's no way in heaven or hell he should be ever released before his time sentence is due, but we know how it is, especially in countries like ours, so I'll abstain from getting into it 'cause I always say, I get really instable with heavy anger topping my patience can, lol.
      -
Oh yea, my sister used to read it too, even buy the licensed version here, and now that you mentioned, another one was/is that Grayman or something like that, it went from weekly to bi, to monthly to whenever is possible and I don't know if it's ended or not.
      -
Judging by what we've seen, I can only theorize that Eren, being the hot headed savage he's now, he went all by himself there in hopes of threat the world with the Flattening of the Earth plan Zeke made, like, instead of waiting 50y, he went there right now to show the Island already has the power and should not be taken lightly - a bluff - but to him, me and a lot of people, better than the sit, wait and procreate like livestock, again,. What happened to Krysta, I believe, was exactly what we talked about, she cracked. With Eren gone, Hange not fit to leadership and without a plan, Krysta thought that becoming a broodmare'd be for the better, I also think that she may have been also influenced by someone of power to go along with this back-up plan since Eren was gone and no one knew his whereabouts 'till he started sending letters, by then it must have been passed at least a year since Eren was gone for two and she looks like it's in her 9th month of pregnancy, so she did wait a while before breaking apart. Sure, it's my theory so take with all grains of sand you may want.
      -
I don't think so, for that he'd need the Jaw's power, it was only with it he could make a crack into that crystal hammer was protecting it's body, but now he has that power to protect himself and attack too, so it wasn't all for nothing what Eren did, and he's only taking out on Hange and threatening her 'cause she "allowed" Krysta to be sacrificed, imo.
      -
The ape is there 'cause his time is near and he may die by titan natural causes, or be killed by the others, in either case, his power'd be inherited by Krysta's kid no matter what, and once Eren dies, if she has another kid, his powers go to them, too or they can make that creep ceremony of eating to pass the power on before dieing of titan old age. That's what I got, though. They turned over the Marley 'cause, like Gabi said, no one can be trusted, no one knows for sure what the other party is actually think and may do so like Pixis said, it was only a matter of precaution than a threat per se, but who knows.

      Delete
    17. Haha, I see. Ah, you mentioned before that they are still rooting for him because Lola's group had been 'destroying' the reputation of the opposition to make the people think that they're 'the best', right?

      - - -

      I don't think it has ended. I see it at times at mangastream. I stopped reading it after some time...after she came back. I got confused with the story and again, the art...it doesn't seem to be the same when I started reading it. Okay, I like it midway. I don't like the art at the start. =P Hehe, I can be picky with art. ^^;

      - - -

Ah, that makes sense. ^^ Thanks ^^

      - - -

I see...so it won't be sharp enough to hack into the crystal?

      - - -

But is it automatic...the titan will just be inherited by Krysta's kid? I thought it can be random...unless, hit it with the shot while it is a baby and make it eat Ape.

Ah...I thought that they would at least, play along for a longer time. But, I guess they are okay with what they got.

Hm...since the cockroach is thinking of those two...do you think he'll go back to the island?

    18. When you say Lola you only reminds me of my late grand auntie, his name is Lula, lol. And yes, that thing still happens, a lot.
      -
I didn't follow tbh, so I don't know, only that it was mentioned sometimes with Claymore 'cause it was published at the same magazine, hope she's better either way.
      -
Well, it's what I got, who knows if it's right, though, lol.
      -
I don't think soul, only the Jaw could crack it, iirc.
      -
It is, but I think that the randomness only comes into action if there's no directly loyal blood, I mean, the original Titan, Zeke didn't have it 'cause at the time he was already the Ape as we saw at that brief flashback that tried to make us pity the Roach, speaking of him, yes, not only him, but the cart and and jaw, too. Just have no idea if they'll be together in taking Marley or following Zeke or will just try to destroy the Island again.

    19. Lol...sorry. I always think of his name as lola which means grandma here. ^^; Because of that, I thought he was a girl before. Haha...turns out to be a white haired white beard guy.

      - - -

Ah, it used to be on weekly Jump. Then, it change magazine...less stress, I guess.

      - - -

Ah, I assumed that it has always been random so they have that ceremony to ensure that it stays within the royal family.

For the roach, I think it will depend on the two other kids. If the two kids go with Eren and others, he'll go against Marley. If not, he'll go against Eren and others. I think it is already established that they are important to him.

I'm not sure about the cart and jaw though.

    20. I must note that he only looks like that now to intensify the poor pitiful oppressed honest man that was unfairly persecuted so he may gain more supporters, if that's even possible - and unfortunately I think it's very likely.
      -
Yes, so, since it used to be on the same as Clay, sometimes I'd read something about it, but was never into the story myself.
      -
Now I'm the one confused, lol. I think the eating ceremony is not only to make the power remains with the loyal line - they didn't know there was other people that could turn into titans around besides them, so that's why I thought Krysta's fathers despaired and acted that way, rushing everything after knowing Eren and others were there. That's what I understood, but I'm not sure anymore, lol.
      -
Yea, pretty sure it's like this, he'll be there for the kids, to save them of this cursed cycle, that's what he was trying to do with Falco and tried to see if it was possible with Gabi, after all. If he's psychic now, he may be able to convince the others that the devils are not really devils and just common folk like them and are not to blame, so they might join forces somehow, if there's willing of forgiveness from both sides.

    21. Ah, he doesn't look like that before? Here, as I told you before, they soon be sporting neck brace, wheelchair and all sorts of sudden ailment that weren't there before. Lol, some would even deliberately have a total check-up so that something will be found and they can be confined in the hospital.

They even pay some journalists to say oh, poor me, I'm persecuted and the admin is evil for having no pity on poor sick me. The paid journalists would say, ah, when this sick politician was in power, a lot of things happen like this and that. But they don't talk about the corruption, plunder, etc. Then, keep attacking the admin who put them in jail. It's quite obvious actually...but well, there are also many gullible people who believed what they wrote/say in TV and radio.

      - - -

      I see.

      - - -

Haha, okay. From what I understood, it was indeed random if that titan wasn't eaten...something about the bloodline so it was assumed that their race was cursed.

      - - -

Hehe, ya. And, they all lived happily ever after...if they survive the series =P Do you think it is definite that Eren will die..or he'll be an exception? Say, because he got more than one titan power?

      Delete
    22. No, though it's true he should at least some white or gray hairs on his head, he always had that clean look that make me look older than him, I must have half his age, lol.

That's why I gave up on trying, though most people are gullible, those are the same ones that don't care about learning the truth or learning at all, that makes me not want to even try anymore.
      -
I always thought that it was, until that moment, 'cause there were no loyal blood titan around; think about, there was 9 titans back in the day and how many of them were of loyal lineage? Then they started to fight among themselves and all hell broke loose, but until there, didn't seem like random thing, at least, I don't remember saying it so.
      -
I don't think this series'll have any kind of happy ending whatsoever after seeing Krysta like that and Sasha randomly dying. If it does have, somehow, I think it'd be forced in someway, so yea, Eren's destiny is sealed in my mind, he's dead for sure. Armin might be the only one to get a 'non tragic fate' now that Mikasa seems to be set with the loyal thing of that greed nation, like hell they want an empress, much less one as capable as her, not only capable of defending herself of humans and titans alike, but also having the Ackerman bloodline.

Only see bad things from now on, or things that I won't like.

    23. Haha, I see.

True. Huhu...so no hope for our countries?

      - - -

Ah, but isn't it because they're killing of the royals? At least in Marley. So, it is a given that they have no royals there. The royal one in Paradis was taken by Eren. I'm thinking, isn't it possible that advantage of having royal blood has diminished. After all, Ape and Krysta aren't pureblood anymore. Is the effect the same with Eren getting in contact with his stepmom?

      - - -

Ah, I see. For me, somehow, I think Eren will survive...or at least dying in the end to somehow see the result of what he fought for.

Levi's chance of survival is high due to fandom.

      Haha, I see.

    24. As bad as it sounds, hope is the last the die, but honestly, I don't see how it's lasting for so long yet.
      -
I didn't even remember they weren't pureblood anymore, lol. But what I think the plan is about those titans at the walls, remember one of them even opened up one eye - in the anime at least - the despair to cover than asap? Anyways, that's I what I assume, otherwise, there's no reason for that scene, that cliffhanger and much less for that amount of titans being even there.
      -
I'm only kinda standing Levi now 'cause the time Krysta gave him a punch to the gut, as promised back then and 'cause how he put the fear heaven and hell into Zeke after taking him down along with that titan army he brought all confident - and 'cause the way he's treating Zeke, saying how he might make to a nice target practice was kinda cool, but overall, meh.

What you thoughts for Mikasa, Armin and Hange, though?

      Delete
    25. Hehe, I guess it's the only one think that can keep one to think positive. Our people are known for being one of the happiest people in the world...ya, even with all the bad things. Always very optimistic for next year...based on survey...if it isn't rigged.

      - - -

Wasn't it because they don't want the people to know about the truth regarding royalty, world outside and to control them? Ah thinking about that, before, cockroach and others wanted to get Krystal out of the walls, right? Didn't they know that she'll be a guinea pig outside, too?

      - - -

      Haha, I see.

Mikasa is a 50/50 for me. After the time skip, she doesn't seem to have that much presence/importance but after that meaning, it's possible that she'll survive and has a role to play later on.

Armin...kind of low profile. Doing emo and talking with Annie. Hm...doesn't seem have much purpose. 70-80% won't survive.

      Hange...90% won't survive.

But then, what's the possibility of all of them dead/genocide and only Krysta's kid survives. =P Haha...and Eren and Mikasa's kid. Lol Start a new world.

    26. If it isn't rigged made me laugh, sorry, lol. But that tells almost everything you need to know.
      -
I don't think they did, like Annie, I only think they wanted to finish it asap and go back, then Ymir happened and changed things and they realized it was impossible to just go back, especially when Zeke came, too.

About the truth issue of the Eldians, I think it's a yes and no answer, but I can't elaborate on it, lol. The real king was there and only wanted to live peacefully, but still passed down the power from generation from generation 'cause they knew this day'd come, but I don't think the royal bloodline was less special than a random slums kid so much that it's power - the one that made'em special in the first place - would fall under this slum kid if there's still royals around, passing down to each other through the ritual 'cause, imo, it's just to be sure it stays on their hands. Everyone else seemed to think it was random, that's the gist I got with Reiner saying Eren was the worst person to have it, and everybody knew he wasn't royal.
      -
I'd like your ending much better than any other that I've imagined or seen people talk, lol.

    27. Ya. But then, most people...well, poor are easy to make happy. I recall the picture captioned with that survey result. We tend to be flooded when there's heavy rain or typhoon. Some kids are shown making the huge body of flood into their swimming pool. The picture is some kids are swimming and playing basketball in the flood while it is raining.

Perhaps, because one can be short-sighted...they might regret later on if they get leptospirosis or other diseases for swimming there. But then...perhaps their immune system is quite strong unlike the rich.

That seems to caption the psyche of the people. Enjoy now regret later...haha, same with elections. Accept the money now...regret voting for that *beep* later on.

      - - -

      I see. So, it was Ymir who wanted to get Krysta out of the city? @-@;

Hm...but wasn't the royal blood require to control random titans? That was the impression that I got.

      - - -

Haha, is that so. Then, perhaps, with that, do that first scene, boy kid waking up and saying that he had a long dream.

      Delete
    28. Well, I used to do such things when I was younger, my parents, especially my grand wanted to kill me then, it's just that, the poor have so little things to make them happy that every little thing, no matter how small and temporarily it is. I used to play football when it was down pooring really hard with the adults when I was kid, too. Just the way we are, it seems.

But yea, when it comes down to immune system, those that are more exposed create more antibodies to fight deceases.
      -
At one time, yes, when they first tried to kidnap Eren, she thought Krysta'd be safe there, but then she offered herself 'cause she regained her memories and realized that either choice she'd have to make'd be a sh***y one, but it wasn't her plan or anything.

Yea, that's why I think it's not really necessary to do the ritual if you can time it like the plan Krysta's agreed now, she'll have a kid and when Zeke dies, bam?
      -
You know, that makes a lot of sense, like, quite a lot that I fear you just spoiled the whole thing to me now, lol. But I'd take, I said I would, much better than whatever comes to my mind, lol.

      Delete
    29. And why would grand want to kill you? This is when you said that you were 'uncontrollable'? Ah, so it isn't applicable to you = get wet in rain and you'll get sick with cold?

      Yup

      - - -

      I see.

Ah...perhaps, the ritual is to ensure that they get that titan power. Just to be sure, you know.

      - - -

Haha. But isn't it kind of cliche? =P

  5. Thanks for the summary. A piece with 9 solos should be very interesting; it seems like a very big gamble, but that's what makes it fun.

Looks like Natsu's part is coming up. From everything we've learned about him, I'd guess that Natsu's father is having a long-term extramarital relationship with Natsu's mother. She seems to be a nurse, from the night shift comment, so perhaps Natsu's father is a doctor, since he manages to see her despite her working nights? They don't seem to get any financial support from him, judging by her working hours. Perhaps because his wife would wonder where the money was going? If I'm right it might explain why Natsu seems pretty messed up emotionally.

    1. Thanks for reading, Girmie ^-^ Yup.

Oh. I haven't thought of that. I actually thought Natsu's father divorced and remarried.

Yup, I also thought she's a nurse. Yup.

It depends if the wife is the one managing the finances.

      Yup.
