Akai Ito [Chapter 31]

At Ren’s house, Chihiro thanks everyone for accompanying her in studying today. Scowling, she tells them that she’ll do her best to pass the makeup exam. Rino laughs and says that is quite a terrifying face. Sho agrees with her and tells Chihiro not to be so tense, and just relax. Scowling again, Chihiro says no, it is because of this reason, everyone is wasting their precious time so it is unreasonable for her to just relax. Sho asks her what subject she is good at, or perhaps, she likes. She tells him that it is Japanese history. Sho says that is the subject he isn’t good and it always makes him fall asleep in class so, teach him that. Rino says that she is also not good at that so Chihiro can teach that and as exchange, she’ll tell her the recipe of the dessert [/snack] that she is very good at. Ren tells her that has nothing to do with the exam.

Ren asks Chihiro that isn’t it very good that everyone got together that they can mutually exchange information regarding the subject that they are good at. That way, she can also relax a bit. Sho exclaims that no wonder it is Kiritani-sensei for they are indebted to him for his clever conclusion. Ren says that he said not to call him sensei. Looking flustered, Chihiro thanks them. They smile at her. Ren gives Chihiro a mock exam paper and tells her to first answer these questions in order to know where she is weak at. Chihiro says okay. Sho asks Ren if he has any something that he isn’t good at. Ren says that it seems that there is no particular one. The three smile and say, in other words~~~ Soon, they are studying together. Rino mentions to them if they know that there is a newly opened hamburger store in front of the station. Sho says that he knows and he went there many times. That place has an internal [special?] menu.

Rino exclaims really, how is it, has he eaten it. Ren tells them to concentrate. Sho complains that he would even say concentrate when what is he doing. Ren is reading a travel magazine. Ren says that for him to ask, he is standing in for them in choosing the travel destination. Sho sarcastically says is that so, because it isn’t necessary for him to study. Chihiro asks if everyone has decided on the place where they will go. “How about a Kyoto-type of place?” Ren says that if they aren’t going to spend too much money and it isn’t far, he feels that it is good if it is a place a bit nearer. Rino exclaims that she wants to pick strawberries once. Ren says if that is how it is, then it is best that they do it on the New Year, and then add in a soak at the hot spring. Sho asks how about going to Universal Studios. Chihiro says that if it is hot springs, then they go to Hakone. And everyone becomes glum and quiet. Sho says that they are studying. Everyone agrees.

While Chihiro is seriously answering the exam paper, Sho thinks that her distressed expression is also very cute, and her scowl is really awesome. He quietly holds up his pointing finger and quietly moves to Chihiro’s side as he plans to poke her. He stops and looks at his finger and thinks, no, no, that is inappropriate for she obviously said that she is going to strive hard in studying. While Ren glances at him, Sho puts his head on the table and thinks that he really wanted to touch her. He suddenly lifts up his head and thinks that a little bit of touch won’t matter, right. Chihiro suddenly looks at him that Sho just points to his forehead and says that she is scowling so relax, relax. This surprises Chihiro. Sho plans to take advantage of going through it it while she didn’t notice it yet. Chihiro looks all perked = fully charged. Losing his will, Sho just puts the pen above his mouth and thinks that he couldn’t touch her.

Later on, Chihiro got a score of 100. Ren praises her for doing the exam beautifully so afterwards, it ought to be okay if she reviews everyday. Chihiro sighs on the table and says that’s great. Rino praises her. Sho says to leave the studies up to here for now, and they discuss a bit about the travel plan. Rino says okay, and how about they eat a snack to eat while talking. Then, looking at an empty plastic bottle, Rino says that there is no more orange juice. Ren says that it seems that there are no more at the refrigerator. Rino stands up and offers to go to the convenient store to buy some. Chihiro asks about going with Rino but Ren says that he’ll be the one going with Rino since Sho and others are going to rest. By the door, Ren tells Rino to quickly come. Blushing Rino says okay. After they left, Chihiro says that it seems that they want them to be alone. Sho says yes. While they are reading, Chihiro blushes and thinks what to do for she feels a different kind of nervousness now that the two of them are left behind.

Chihiro glances at Sho and thinks that she has not seen him concentrate before and for him to look serious in studying, he also looks handsome. Looking at his fingers, she thinks that they are slender and beautiful. Then, she notices that Sho is staring at her. She immediately looks at her book and thinks that it is bad for he has noticed that she has been staring at him blankly. Sho yawns and says that he’s very sleepy just by looking at an article. He lies down on the floor. Chihiro wonders if he’s sleeping when she thought that he would ask, ‘what are you staring blankly at’. Chihiro thinks that her heart is restless and it has been like this from the start. When Sho lies to his side, Chihiro wonders if he is always like this, won’t he catch a cold. Taking a coat, Chihiro says that it cannot be helped. She puts the coat on him. She thinks that it seems to be quite rare to see him defenseless like this and if she were to kiss him, he also won’t find out..

Chihiro leans down to him but stops. She pulls away and wonders what she is thinking. Suddenly, Sho pulls her down to him. Hugging her, he happily says that he fooled her. Flustered Chihiro exclaims if he was awake. Sho says that he felt that she is acting unusual and a bit strange. Chihiro says that he’s quite mean when she is obviously worried about him catching a cold. Sho apologizes to her but then, like this, he won’t catch a cold since it’s very warm. While hugging her, Sho laughs and says that her heart is beating really fast. Chihiro thinks that he’s so cunning and she is frustrated since she is the only one whose heart is beating fast. Even if she doesn’t hate it, she is still frustrated. She lightly strokes Sho’s back. This made surprised Sho hug her tighter. Then, he says that he has a request and that is, he wants her to hug him and take the initiative to kiss him on the lips. This surprises Chihiro. As they sit up, he asks if it is a no. Flustered Chihiro says that she isn’t saying that it is a no. She thinks that even if before she had conveniently taken the initiative so many times but for him to specially request it, it makes her embarrassed.

Sho says that he is just casually saying it and if that is a no, it is also okay to kiss him on the face. Chihiro is a bit worried about being found out that it isn’t about it being a no. To Sho’s surprise, Chihiro says, okay. She goes near him and kisses him on the lips. She hugs him tight and pushes him down on the floor. Then, they look at each other. Putting his hand on his mouth, Sho backs away and shouts to let him calm down a bit. He opens the window and sighs. Bending down, blushing Sho thinks that he thought that she is going to collide on his face. Chihiro apologizes and asks if he didn’t like it. Sho says that it isn’t that he didn’t like it, but he’s embarrassed and too happy. When Chihiro asks why he would be embarrassed, Sho says that it makes him want to do it so don’t entice him. They kiss then, he goes to her neck. Sho says that he wants to do it. He starts to pull down her necktie when he stops and hits his head with hers. He says forget it, they have an agreement about when they go to the trip..sorry.. Holding on to him, Chihiro says no, don’t.. She thinks that she doesn’t want to hear him say sorry for she actually also, forget it.. She tells him not to stop. And they both look surprised. Flustered Sho asks if what she said just now is true!? At a loss over what to do, flustered Chihiro says, I.. I..

Comment: And, here they go again. ^^; Hm..my guess is that it won’t happen because they are in Ren’s house. Though, I wonder if they actually forgot that fact and started doing it, who will find them? Ren and Rino, or one of Ren’s family? That would be an interesting funny scene. Hm..it makes me wonder if it is better for Chihiro to take the initiative rather than Sho so that she won’t be too nervous. =P Anyway, it seems that Chihiro isn’t totally dumb or anything, for she only needs time to properly concentrate on study. She is really just too busy thinking about the trip before that she failed the exam. Hm..it seems that Ren is the typical ‘perfect guy’ who has the good looks, body, and brains. ^^ I do wonder where they are going to go since they all have different places where they want to go. Sho is for Universal Studios, Rino is for yummy food, Chihiro seems to be for nature/traditional places, and Ren is for practicality of not spending too much. Scans by Link同好会汉化
