Hibi Chouchou [Chapter 60]

Yuri begs the couple to please go on a date with her. To Kawasumi's surprise, Suiren nods. Kawasumi tells her to wait, she still haven't clearly... With clasped hands, Yuri tells him that it is fine to just secretly follow them. This surprises the couple. Yuri tells them that to just follow without being noticed and please offer some valuable suggestions. Kawasumi asks if their suggestions can be of use.. To his surprise, Suiren nods again. Suiren says that for Yuri, she'll do her best. Yuri is touched by this. She stares at Kawasumi. Kawasumi says that if she is really perplexed. Yuri exclaims that she is so Kawasumi says that they'll do their best. Yuri sobs to thank them and apologize to them since she is beyond held. Suiren shakes her head and asks what the other person is like. Blushing Yuri says that it is a guy called Daisuke, though first of all, they aren't going steady..maybe friends though they didn't meet after the goukon [group blind date] and even if they keep in touch, it is only a few times when she took the initiative to contact him. He is a nice guy who is older by a year and goes to Senjou. Kawasumi thinks that it is the same school where Atohira goes to.

Then, Yuri says that he is coming so the couple quickly sits behind her. Then Daisuke arrives and comments that it's hot. As he sits down, Kawasumi, who is sitting facing him, finds him looking very familiar. Daisuke suddenly greets Yuri. Yuri nervously greets him back and also comments that it is hot. Daisuke starts talking about who Koharu is and does she like Atohira since Atoria won't tell him. This startle Yuri and the others. Yuri thinks that it is such a sensitive topic with Suiren and others sitting behind her. While she nervously says is that so, Kawasumi thinks that this Daisuke person knows Atohira. Daisuke mentions about hearing from a friend that Koharu is pestering Atohira. He asks if Koharu is Yuri's friend. Wanting to change the topic, Yuri says that she's a senpai though they aren't good friends. She comments that Atohira is really popular. While having a drink, Daisuke says that lately, a first year student confessed to Atohira but then, no matter who confessed to him, he won't go steady with them. Yuri asks is that so. Daisuke says no, he feels that way. Daisuke changes the topic by asking where she wants to go today.

After getting nervous over it, Yuri looks behind the couple. The couple had a quick brainstorming session over it. Kawasumi says that since it is around 2pm so how about a movie. After praising Kawasumi for it, Suiren casually says that they go to the movies. Yuri mentions this to Daisuke. And to Suiren's relief, Daisuke agrees with Yuri's suggestion to go to the movies. While they walk, the couple follow behind them. Daisuke notices Yuri walking behind that he asks about holding hands. This surprises Yuri that he quickly says that it is a joke. He comments that he didn't think that he'll be able to see her since she seems to be very busy so he feels a bit nervous. Blushing Yuri says that it is okay. Walking behind the two, Suiren tells Kawasumi that even if they don't know what they are talking about but it seems that Yuri is very happy. Kawasumi says that since they are still not going steady, how does Yuri view Daisuke. Suiren wonders if it like or not too like. Kawasumi says that even if they aren't sure what kind of person Daisuke is, but they are helping them make their relationship become better.

Blushing Suiren looks at him that he asks what it is. Suiren says that they are doing an extreme thing. Kawasumi agrees. Suiren says that Yuri always cheers her on. At the movie theater, Daisuke asks if she wants to watch some Rambo-type of movie. [<- based on the poster]. She comments that guys like watching action movies. He says yes and he thinks that Yuri would want to watch this one. This made Yuri comment that he is used to going out with girls. He asks really when he also doesn't have much experience in going steady. When she asks if that is for real, Daisuke says that there are only 2-3 persons during Junior High. Yuri wonders isn't that already going steady..no, it is common since he is already in third year for this guy is very cute and very popular. Yuri suggests that Daisuke is the one to choose the movie they are going to watch. Daisuke asks if it okay, then he says no, she choose. She says no. And they do this back and forth with the watching couple are speechless over it. After Yuri insisted, Daisuke finally choose one. He comments that his gut feel isn't very accurate. He apologizes for not being decisive when he is obviously a guy. Yuri says that it is okay, he's very nice. He asks is that so.

Then, Yuri quickly tells him that they have to hurry for the movie is showing. As they go in, Yuri assures Daisuke that she is fine with just a drink. Suiren thinks that Yuri usually gets lots to eat and she's so cute. Inside the theater, Daisuke takes off his hat and starts texting to someone on his cellphone. Yuri wonders who it is and starts to think that it is some girl. She slaps her face for being jealous over some rival. While Yuri thinks that it is the first time she has gone to the movies with a guy, Suiren notices that Kawasumi is already sleeping. While Suiren tries to wake Kawasumi up by shaking him, Yuri thinks that Daisuke doesn't hate her since he came here with her so why did he break up with the ones he had gone steady before. She wonders for how long did they gone steady and did they keep in touch. She also wonders if they went steady, would it go smoothly. She starts wondering what his type of girl is. When Yuri glances at the back, Suiren sees her and waves back. Yuri wonders if she should be cuter. She then notices Daisuke looking at her. He quickly looks away. After the movie, Yuri is raving over the twist at the end of the movie. Since Daisuke doesn't seem to believe her, Yuri exclaims that it's the truth. This made Daisuke happy. Yuri thanks him for choosing that movie. 

While Yuri is wondering what's up with her when Daisuke is worried [if she likes it or not], Daisuke asks her where she wants to eat. This made Yuri, Daisuke and the couple nervous. Daisuke and Suiren simultaneously say omurice [rice omelet] while Yuri says pasta. Yuri freaks out over this. Confused Suiren says that Yuri says that. Kawasumi tells Suiren that for her to say Yuri's name. This made Yuri immediately apologize to  Daisuke. She says that she shouldn't have done this but it is the first time she has gone out with a guy and she is still clumsy over it so she asks these two for help so it isn't their fault. Looking away, Daisuke says that there's no need to strongly apologize. This made Yuri think that her apology is no good. She berates herself for she is always observing someone who is in love by her side yet what she is doing. She compares herself with Suiren, who always frankly confronts Kawasumi. To their surprise, Suiren approaches them and says that there is no malice to it and compared to herself, Yuri always worry about others first. Suiren bows in apology to Daisuke and tells him not to criticize Yuri. Kawasumi also goes in front. He also bows and apologizes for it isn't Yuri's fault.

Daisuke tells them to stop for a while and please give him an opportunity to talk. Holding his cellphone to them, he confesses that he is also isn't confident that he has been asking his friends a lot about this date. Daisuke asks why Yuri asks those for those two's help. Yuri says that it is because he is used in dealing with girls. He denies it but she says that he already went steady with 2-3 girls. He tells her that the longest one is only for a month. He explains that he was dumped because he isn't manly. He says that girls like strong guys but he wants to do what the girl wants to do. This made Yuri blush and says that she wants to progress their relationship and she totally doesn't have self-confidence. He asks why when she is obviously so cute. Thinking that he's the one who's cute, Yuri exclaims that in the end, he's the type who is already used to this [<- flirty] but he says that being blunt is the best. This made the couple decide that it is time to go. After Suiren and Kawasumi left, Daisuke asks if he can see her again. Yuri smiles and says yes if she is okay [for him]. While walking home, Kawasumi praises Suiren for being amazing just now. Suiren blushing over this. Kawasumi says that it would be good if things went smoothly for Yuri. Suiren nods with clenched fists. Looking up the starry sky, Kawasumi comments that it is the first time he has seen Suiren that way.

Comment: It turns out that is the kind of help that Yuri is asking. Or rather, going steady with them would be like double date though they will be the 'invisible' pair who gives advice. Even if Yuri is really proactive in helping Suiren with her love life and seems to know a lot about romance, she does lack self-confidence with herself. She knows what to do yet she cannot bring herself to do it. Of course, for her to tell Daisuke that she wants to go further with their relationship is already a big step towards smooth-sailing for them. Daisuke has a few relationships but from what he said, they aren't his type. For this couple, it seems that they are each other's type = being cute? ^^; Even if the main couple is fixed, the mangaka isn't doing the typical thing since the friends aren't being paired off to the characters whom we already know. And if she does, it would be a surprise like with Atohira and Koharu. Anyway, the couple helping the two seemed to help them know each other more or at least, see the side that they haven't seen before. In a way, if they do spend more time and do all sorts of things together, they'll get to know each other more. Maybe this will somehow help Kawasumi think of spending more time together rather than for them tell each other's likes and do not likes to know more of each other. ^^ Lastly, I don't know what kind of movie they watched but it must be non-action to make Kawasumi fall asleep. Iirc, they watched a movie before so could it be that Kawasumi slept through it? Well, if it is a slow-paced movie. Amusingly though, I think the one Daisuke is describing as the 'girls ideal' is either Kawasumi or Atohira. =P Scans by all★wink汉化组
