Then, Kawasumi arrives home. Ichi glances at him and walks
away. Puzzled Kawasumi wonders what’s up. Back to Suiren, she wonders if she
should call back or.. She imagines Ichi telling Kawasumi that he got a phone
call and Kawasumi thanking him. She wonders if she’ll wait for Kawasumi to call
her back. She wonders what kind of person is his brother and if he is similar
with Kawasumi. Does he wears glasses and is also very good with sports? She
wonders if their relationship is good. She is surprised when her cellphone
rings. She answers it. The other party says that it is him. Thinking that it is
the same with the voice a while ago, Suiren nervously asks if it is Kawasumi.
Kawasumi says ya, he just came home from club activity. “Are you free now?”
This made Suiren sit down and blush. She says yes. Kawasumi tells her that they
go see each other in a while. She says okay. She recalls about through
conversation, their colliding opinions can be overcome. Suiren thinks that in
the end, he did properly think over things because of her. Then, her cellphone
rings again. It is a message through an internet messaging app from Yuri. Yuri
asked what she is doing. Suiren replied that she is currently going to meet up
with Kawasumi. Then, there is no reply. Suiren asks back what’s up.
Then, the couple is in a baseball hitting game center. Looking
around, Suiren thinks that it is the first time she is in this so-called
hitting ball practice place. Taking a bat, Kawasumi says that he realize that they
still don’t know what the other person likes [/interests] so today, they are
going to do what they like and he thinks that this is for the better. Kawasumi
gets ready to hit the ball and Suiren claps to support him. Kawasumi hits the
ball and Suiren says that it is quite amazing. Kawasumi says no, it is totally
not amazing since he is aiming for a home run. Kawasumi keeps on hitting but
fails so he sweatdrops and asks if he can play another round. Suiren gestures
for him to go ahead. Smiling Suiren thinks that Kawasumi is quite engrossed in
it. To his satisfaction, Kawasumi finally hits the ball. Suiren says that it’s
amazing.. Going out, he says, okay, next would be Suiren’s turn. She says that she
still haven’t prepared well.. He tells her that it is okay. While Kawasumi is
holding her hand, Suiren says that he hits the ball quite wonderfully. He says
that it is because when he was young, he had played juvenile baseball even if
he quickly got engrossed with karate.
Thinking that it is a new information about him, she feels
that today is a really wonderful day. Soon, they seem to be in some perfume
shop and Suiren is happily breathing the smell from a machine. It has been a
while that Kawasumi has to interrupt her and say that they have to go to the
next one. At a bookstore where there are travel books, Kawasumi asks what place
she wants to go. Holding a book on Hokkaido, Suiren says that she wants to see
polar bears. To her shock, Kawasumi takes a book about Okinawa and says that he
wants to go to the south, an Okinawa-type of place. While Suiren is aghast by
this, he tells her that no matter which side, it is good if one day, they can
go together. Suiren blushes and nods. Then, the two are blushing really red. While
walking, Kawasumi stops by a stall selling smartphones. Suiren wonders if he
wants that. He tells her that he’s the only one who doesn’t have it and he
always felt apologetic about it. Suiren shakes her head. He tells her that they
are going. At a mixed goods store, Suiren looks at a beautiful cup and Kawasumi
is looking at a heart stuffed toy. Suiren felt out of place when Kawasumi is
looking at rubber shoes. Kawasumi felt out of place when Suiren is looking at
some cutie-cutie dolls.
He is into bicycles. She is into cosmetics. He wants to eat
udon noodles but she wants pasta. In the end, they ate udon. Then, they rest by
a bench. To Suiren’s shock, Kawasumi declares that their interests are totally different
from each other. He says that it is really great to know this. Suiren mentally
agrees with him. Then, she gives him a small bag. He pulls out the melon pan
and asks when she bought it. Blushing Suiren says that she made it herself.
After biting, Suiren is really happy. Kawasumi thanks her and she says, no, no
[it is okay]. Kawasumi says that it is because it is today so he’ll say it.
Suiren wonders what it is. He tells her that actually, he isn’t quite good
in..eating melon pan. Suiren is stunned as some imaginary melon pan felt hurt.
Looking really tense, Kawasumi admits to her that he doesn’t really like
sweets. She apologizes. He says that it is okay. Thinking that she really knows
a lot of things today, she asks if he has an older brother. After a pause, he
says yes. She asks what kind of person he is. Recalling how Ichi quietly looks
at him, Kawasumi says that maybe, he is a bit like Suiren, having this kind of ‘can’t
help it’ feeling. Suiren imagines herself as Kawasumi’s brother. Kawasumi tells
her to leave the topic about Ichi to the side first.
Surprised Suiren asks if their relationship isn’t good. He
says no, it shouldn’t be said that it is bad, what it is.. He recalls how dark Ichi
quietly looks down him. Kawasumi says that bluntly speaking, he is a strange
person. This shocks Suiren and mutters if she is also..? She thinks that today,
there is no more politeness [/shy about saying what one really thinks/feels].
She apologizes for being very strange. She felt that she said something that
make people dislike it. She glances at him and he is smiling. He happily says
that it’s really good. This made her blush and thinks, “..Ah--.. ..what.. *tightly
clench her skirt* today’s..” Then, they are surprised by a phone call from
Yuri. Yuri asks Suiren to quickly save her and come over to the café. Standing
up, Suiren apologizes and says that Yuri said to quickly save her. Holding her
arm, Kawasumi urgently asks where. And, they rush to the café. They see Yuri
sitting on one of the tables by herself. She calls out Kawasumi’s name and
apologizes. The couple asks what’s up. Yuri says that she has a lifetime’s request.
She takes a deep breath while clasping her hands together. She mutters, “Please
go on a date with me.” The couple asks, Ha? Yuri repeats, “PLEASE GO ON A DATE
WITH ME.”
Comment: And,
that is a cute way of making a couple show that they have different interests.
^^ It is nice that they are getting to know each other more rather than
depending on ‘attraction’ as the basis of their relationship. So far, they are
responding well to each other’s differences. It would probably be a compromise
or giving in later on, if the situations that involves those differences, come
up. It turns out that Suiren has not yet met Ichi. Well, it doesn’t seem to be
a compliment that she is like Ichi who is a ‘weirdo’. Anyway, I wonder what
exactly Yuri’s problem is. I would think that she needs experience regarding
dating so she would ask Kawasumi to date with her. But then, Kawasumi isn’t
exactly the person she should be asking that. Atohira is more experienced but
then, he might not help out. Though, is it possible that she won’t be dating
Kawasumi but rather, Suiren? After all, the one she called is Suiren and she
didn’t specifically ask her to bring him along. Maybe she would want to ask
permission first. There is the possibility that she is going to date a silent
type like Suiren so she wants to know what it is like to date that kind of
person? Hehe, Ichi? Anyway, we’ll know for sure in the next chapter. Scans by all★wink汉化组

kawasumi is his surname right? then what is his name?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it was ever mentioned.
DeleteKouha Kawasumi is his fullname
DeleteI think its souha and thanks for the summary!
ReplyDeleteIt is?
DeleteThanks for reading ^-^
I believe its Kawasumi Kouha
DeleteThank you! I was wondering when does the next chapter come out? And a yuri x ichi pairing seems really interesting!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome ^-^
DeleteAh, it isn't in the next issue, according to the official webpage. There is a one-shot chapter of a different story by the mangaka instead. So, maybe the next one is on Sept 20?
Hehe, is that so.
I dont know what will happen in the next chapter but I think Yuuri's date might go well. Thanks for the summary!
ReplyDeleteYa, it is hard to guess.
DeleteThanks for reading, Judy ^-^
Kouha is not Kawasumi's first name, but a description of him. In Japanese it means along the lines of "tough/manly" I think. In a Q&A in one of the volumes the mangaka said they will reveal Kawasumi's first name later on. :)
ReplyDeleteKawasumi & Suiren's date was cute. <3 Maybe Aya wants to go on a group date with both Kawasumi and Suiren so she won't feel awkward with someone she asked out/asked her out? :)
Oh, I see.
DeleteIndeed ^^ Oh..possible, like a double date, right?
Yes. ^^ And oops, I meant Yuri in my comment, not Aya. ^^;
DeleteNo problem..I didn't notice it either. ^^;
DeleteI love this chapter! Thank you for translating!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, Lei ^-^
DeleteOMG!! I really love Hibi Chouchou!! Thanks for updating!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hope you translate Nagareboshi Lens. It's quite a good manga.
Thanks again! :)
Thanks for reading, Charitie ^-^
DeleteSorry, I don't read that series.
Thanks for your translation, Kat! I'm glad this is anonymous so I can say what I really think of how this manga and not worry about getting attacked by a diehard fan. Suiren is Suiren. I loved her for a long time. I loved them together, for a long time. Now...I don't. He is actually talking a little and she still just mostly thinks her thoughts. Hasn't it been over a year for these two? And she is just now getting to know that he doesn't like sweets.. There is no humor (her dancing and him stifling a laugh was sweet but 59 chapters into this and that was the first time I'd seen any of that behavior from either of them, so for him to say that's what he likes about her was weird since she has acted like that before. It felt like the author had to finally add some kind of personality to these two and so she threw it in there), there was no romantic sweetness, no gazing lovingly at each other..nothing..it feels like strangers meeting up for the first time, or it felt like a final date...two people on the verge of a break up.
ReplyDelete..I meant "since she has NOT acted like that before"...sorry...(referring to the little happy dances she was doing)
DeleteThanks for reading ^-^ Hehe..is that so.
DeleteAlmost a year already. Indeed..the root problem is basically, no communication.
True..that is why they need something..or rather to do something more like know each other more so that they won't be like what you've mentioned. One is doing what the other thinks is best while the other one just keep quiet. Both seems to be just depending on 'attraction' to make things work. So, I think the mangaka is showing that.
Different anon here. Didn't she know he didn't like sweets when she first made chocolates for him on Valentines day? I'd have to find the chapter to prove it, mebbe someone can help?
DeleteAs an aside, I too would like to thank you for your various translations Kat. It's been fun reading your take on things at the end as well. Please keep up the good work.
Yes, in chapter 45, she mentioned that he doesn't quite like sweet things. Since it is a question mark, she seems to be just assuming it. Here, it turns out that he doesn't like sweets at all.
DeleteThanks for reading and the comment ^-^
