Kedamono Kareshi [Chapter 33]

Himari is shocked that Keita wants to move out of the house. She wonders if it is because they are siblings and is it because she said that their parents are more important. After Shigeru exchanged some polite conversation with Ryou, he tidies up the car. Upon seeing Himari’s glum expression, Ryou asks her if something happened between her and Keita. When Himari snaps out of it, Ryou explains that she always has that expression since a while ago and there is only one cause. He asks if he guessed right. Himari didn’t reply. From the window, Ryou sees Keita standing behind the window in the house. Shigeru calls out to Ryou so Ryou ends his visit by telling Himari that he’ll text her and if it is okay that it is only up to that degree [of relationship between them]. Himari still didn’t reply. The car left and Keita is watching them. In her room, Himari is bothered that Keita is leaving and would disappear from this place when she obviously do not want to destroy the family’s harmony. She wonders if she did something wrong or..in the end, there is no way of preventing all of this. In school, everyone is curious over what happened between Ryou and Himari. They are amazed at Ryou’s courage and confessing in that place is amazing. Standing by the door, Himari is gloomy over the rumors. She is surprised when Ryou tells her if she treats what everyone is saying as truth but then, it is certainly like that. Then, he says that he’s joking and he’ll clearly explain things to everyone. Himari looks surprised. Ryou goes in and thinks that actually, he’s not joking at all. Himari just glumly watch as Ryou tells his friends that he obviously told them yesterday. Later on, Himari spots Keita by the hallway. She calls out to him because they weren’t able to properly talk yesterday since then about him leaving the house. Keita asks her what it is. She asks if he was serious about what he said yesterday. She plans to persuade him a bit since he might reconsider. Keita says that it is as he told her. Himari begs him not to leave the house for how does he want for their parents to feel because if he leaves, they’ll definitely be very sad.
This irks Keita that he says that at this time, compared to him, she would still go ‘parents’ ‘parents’. He tells her that his thinking cannot be changed. Himari wonders how can this be, because like this, everyone will separate again when obviously, it isn’t that easy for all four of them to be a family. It is night, Keita arrives home. He spots his father peeking inside that he asks what he is doing. Shigeru is surprised that he’s back and says that it is nothing, he just felt that, ‘that’ isn’t bad. He points inside and sees Himari helping her mother cook. Himari is exclaiming that she made a lot but her mother says that anyway, it all gets eaten up. Looking away, Keita complains what his father is looking at, and calls him disgusting. Shigeru is shocked to be called disgusting. He asks isn’t that very nice, the home has become lively and warm. Keita says that it’s the same. Shigeru tells him that it is because of Keiko and Himari are here, this home became warm and he thinks that this is truly very nice. Keita says is that so, he isn’t interested in that. Shigeru tenderly looks at him and says that it is because when Keita is young, he wasn’t able to give him a warm family atmosphere. Keita recalls his parents quarreling before. Shigeru says that at time, he is very busy and there are a lot of times when he wasn’t able to frequently stay at the house that it also made his mother become very lonely. He tells Keita that at that time, his mother actually didn’t do anything wrong. It is really great that he was able to meet Keiko and Himari, and he wants to give Keita this kind of warm family atmosphere. Going into his room, Keita wonders what’s up with that. Recalling Himari telling him to think of what their parents would feel and the rest of their conversation, Keita seems to be flustered. He goes to his desk and opens the drawer. He holds the fox mascot strap and wonders out loud what he should do. Then, there is a quick knock and door opening of Himari telling him that dinner is ready. She is surprised to see what he is holding.
Comment: It seems that Ryou is ever persistent that he still wants to keep in touch with her. I don’t quite understand what he was saying about the rumors and it is a joke since what they are gossiping about, are true. Maybe, he meant some other gossips like taking Himari home that are added to that since he reprimanded his friends who saw them at the station. From Keita and his father’s conversation, I guess this is the reason why Keita doesn’t really care about keeping the family intact nor feel that it is important. Unlike Himari, she knows what it is like and seems to think that after everything had happened, her mother deserves happiness more than she does. Amusingly, Keita has to hear it from his father himself about what he thinks of family for Keita to have hesitations about leaving. But then, that would be like trying to please his father since he doesn’t have any deep family bonds with his father or the others. Hehe, if Himari is a cunning manipulative girl and seeing him holding that thing which proves he really loves her, she could like say, if you love me, don’t leave this house, etc =P Scans by allwink

Quote of the day:
There is no such thing as a broken family. Family is family, and is not determined by marriage certificates, divorce papers, and adoption documents. Families are made in the heart. ~ Author Unknown

  2. * sigh * For some reason , I'm extremely annoyed at Himari, so annoyed that I wish Keita would really break it off with her, and be with another girl.... let's see what Himari would feel. Himari wanted family harmony. The opposite happened.

    1. Hehe, is that so, megaworthit.

True, the opposite did happen..actually, would it still be in 'harmony' if she told her mother about it?

    2. Would it still be harmony ? Absolutely. One has to take the risk for love.

    3. Hehe, depends megaworthit if the parents do not react positively to their love like in True Love =P

Of course, here, I think it might end with, ah so you like Keita, we accept that. Yay, the end. =P

    4. Well, my idea is, Himari doesn't even try and take the risk...... if the mom doesn't like, then , that's where the drama begins. It's now up to Himari to decide if she's going to fight for love. As it is, she's being passive. If Keita doesn't take the steps himself, then it will be the end. The irony is , the family unity that she wishes is already gone. And what's wrong with the situation now is not only her concern with family unity, but also what society and other people will think.

    5. True, megaworthit and well, Himari has always been passive in almost everything. ^^; More like a pushover.

Indeed, that's why I think in the end, the parents would just accept them because the drama could have already happened there with Himari fighting for love but no, she didn't. This part kept on dragging on and on.

True, people would gossip over why Keita moved out and well, still gossip if they are together.

    6. " kept on dragging on and on "

You said it, Kat. I think it's this kind of plotline that somehow takes the edge off the story, and this happens when a main character is passive and doesn't do anything to resolve the situation. Oh, well, I guess not doing anything is her way of resolving the issue. But readers do lose interest, right ?

For some reason, loss of interest only happens when it's the girl who is passive/weak. . When it's the guy who's passive, the opposite happens. Readers become more interested when a guy is like " uninterested"..... it's exciting to know when a guy is going " to break". That's when we hear a lot of Kyaaaa, and doki doki from readers. o.O?

    7. Indeed...megaworthit. Hm..you made me wonder if the resolution of this won't exactly come from either of the two..but more on, as I'm expecting, the parents agree to their relationship = the end.

Is that so. Ah..you mean the ones where the girls are chasing the 'cold, uninterested' guy, right?
