Kedamono Kareshi [Chapter 29]

Himari overhears some girls who are excited about the lovers’ competition at the gym that is starting soon. This made her think that she shouldn’t be doing this kind of thing right now. She stands up to leave but Keita grabs her and pulls her into the curtain. Ryou is looking for Himari since it is almost time for the gathering [/competition]. He suddenly nervously wonders if she actually doesn’t want to participate with him. He shakes off that thought and decides to just quickly find her. Then, he stops to see the clinic and recalls that Keita is inside. Inside the clinic, Keita is hugging Himari who is shocked over what’s going on. She starts to panic if he was actually awake a while ago. Keita tells her not to participate in the lovers’ competition, and if she were to go, it would definitely be for Ryou. Looking flustered, he won’t allow her to go to Ryou’s side. They stiffen when Ryou goes in and asks out if Keita is okay. Himari is panicking over why he is here and he is coming over. She doesn’t want him to see them in that kind of situation but then, she couldn’t go out. Himari pushes Keita away but he hugs her tight. Himari couldn’t move and doesn’t know what to do for they are in that kind of situation in school. Standing in front of the curtains, Ryou asks if Keita is sleeping. Ryou is about to pull the curtains when he overheard someone looking for him and Himari. Someone says that Himari isn’t around though she heard that Himari was seen just now. They are worried for it is time for the gathering and those two aren’t around. Ryou glances at the curtains and walks away. Himari is relived that they weren’t seen. She holds Keita tight and wonders what to do in this kind of situation when just now, she obviously already made a final choice.
Recalling Keita not wanting her to go to Ryou, Himari thinks that lately, they haven’t been together like this, and right now, she wants to be like this for a while. They were startled when there is a ringing sound. It is both their cellphones. They read their respective cellphones. It is a message from their mother that they have just arrived in school and wanted to walk around with them but both of them aren’t in the classroom. Himari thinks that her mother came at this time and could this be so-called ‘fate’. Could it be that it is telling [them] that their relationship is not allowed. Soon, at the hallway, Keita meets up with their parents. Keiko apologizes for suddenly sending a text. Keiko happily asks if he knew that Himari joined the lovers’ competition. She is quite startled for that Himari who isn’t good with guy would unexpectedly join such a public activity. She laughs that Shigeru wants everyone to watch it together. Keita tries to excuse himself but Keiko asks him to accompany them since there are too many people and they’ll get lost. Then, she asks where the gym is. Keita can only look flustered over this. At the gym, a girl apologizes for making Ryou and Himari join the competition because their relationship is quite good so she thought that they are definitely going steady. Each class should have a pair joining so they, who are also committee members, would definitely agree. Ryou and Himari look at each other. Himari says that they are really not going steady so this competition. Ryou just agrees to it – joining for everyone. Himari goes along with that and wonders if it is really okay when he just confessed not long ago and she rejected him. While the host is talking, Ryou asks her if just now, she was staying at the clinic. Himari is surprised. The host tells the couples to come on stage. Ryou grabs Himari’s hand and says, ‘let’s go.’ They head out and well, Keita is scowling as he watches with the audience.
Comment: Hm..from how things look, everyone including their parents would think that those two are going steady. So, aside from it being hard to tell others about her and Keita’s relationship, they would have to deal with a possible misunderstanding of others regarding her and Ryou. Of course, there is a possibility of someone confessing the truth during the competition and this ‘secret’ won’t be dragged out anymore. It makes me wonder what Ryou’s intention is —help Himari by forcing Keita to act now, or it is for his selfish reason, or both- ..well, that is depending on what would happen next. Scans by allwink

  1. Kikou ... ^^
    Tks you so much for the new summary !!!! .... So well things seems to be long to move on !!! .... there is not really a decision between this 2 ^^ .... Surely they love each other, but "fate" like Himari is thinking is still making "some fun" of them !!!! ..... Well I really don't know for how long the author pretend to follow this situation but I do hope that on next chapters something that can make one of them move (surely Keita who is more impulsive !!) can happen !!!! ..... So well let's see !!! .... I'm still curious about the way it goes !!!
    Bises ^^

    1. Thanks for reading, zaza ^-^

      Yup..and any major progress might probably happen if someone tells their parents about it. That would pretty much determine if they keep this up or it is over.

  2. ahh! Ryou decide to be a bad guy. tsk tsk! Well, I had a feeling that he is like "if you are not going to have Himari then I am going to take her" Poor Keita because he end up watch them walk up on the stage. I bet he will think "it supposes to be me not Ryou!" Looking forward to a next chapter! Thanks for the summary <3 Tika

    1. He seems to be doing that and he did mention it to Keita, Tika. Though there is no internal monologue from him so we cannot say for sure..the mangaka can suddenly change it either way..he is helping them to be together = not easily give up? ^^;

      Yup..he probably is thinking about that.

      Thanks for reading ^-^

  3. Somehow, I want Ryou to announce that he's going out with Himari (even if it's a lie). Hahaha.

    1. Hehe, that would be interesting..and for them to be in a lovers' competition, it pretty much seem that they are going steady = in other people's minds.

  7. Their "lovey-dovey" moments are taking too long to happen *sigh*
    But they really have a reeeeally complicated situation there...it reminds me of Marmalade boy! hahaha Oh my! (But in MB's case, their parents have a SOOOO much wide vision, we don't know if it's the case here).

    Poor Himari, she is such a good girl, being so considerate of her parents (a rare thing nowadays... U_U), I like this about her, that she loves her mother so much.
    Oh and another thing...OMG! Is it only me? But I just LOVE Himari's hairstyle! <3 It's something I would like if I were to cut mine short! hahaha

    Speaking of Marmalade boy, I'm really enjoying the sequel: Marmalade boy little, it's so cute and sweet! ^^ (and the art is adorable) Have you take a look?

    1. Indeed, Dayse, it is taking a long time..and it does seem like Marmalade boy and other series of similar theme.

      Yup, she is very considerate of her mother. Well, she has always been a 'good daughter'. ^^

      Hehe, is that so..I think it is a common hairstyle ^^;

      I'm browsing the series..it is okay though I cannot quite relate to the 'older ones' from the original Marmalade Boy ^^;;

    2. Really? A common hairstyle? ^^ I'm from Brazil, here we don't see such hairstyles...that's why that one is so charming for me! hahaha People here tend to use long hair (well, not everybody of course XD but in general), so the coolest short haircuts I1ve seen are in asian girls.

    3. I see, Dayse ^-^

      Well, when I mentioned 'common', I'm actually referring to manga girls' hairstyle. ^^;;
