Free Talk: Blog Stuff

It seems that I’m summarizing a lot of series that it is really taking up too much of my time and I’m also slightly burning out. ^^; I regretfully have to drop some series. I chose the series that I’ve lost interest in summarizing and based on their last summary, they have zero comments. They are: Hachimitsu ni Hatsukoi, and Suki-tte Ii na yo.

So, to those who are reading these series, I’m sorry and thank you for reading the summaries until now ^-^

  1. Thank you Kat. I really do appreciate the work you do for us. Especially when I see that slowly but gradually other pages which provide summaries die out. So, for the more I can only say thank you for your hard work!!! ♥♥♥

  3. Hey Kat! Thanks for all your hardwork! It saddens me to know that u are overwhelmed with churning out summaries. I read ur summaries of SINY and would agree for u to drop it as it is nearing its end and the mangaka is starting to wrap up the stories in little bows for the finale. Nothing much is really happening in that manga now though i still enjoy reading it on ur blog. Thanks so much for ur effort, babe. U are wonderful and have been too indulgent with us. I hope u'll take a long rest and pace urself. Major thanks for all ur effort on SINY~~♥

  5. I loved both of those series!! I was just too lazy to ever comment on them. Thank you so much for your effort and time, but if you feel too overwhelmed then there is nothing that can be done. HnH has especially been special to me each time you did a summary, and I appreciate that so so much! Hopefully someone will gain interest in it and do a summary! Again, thank you!

  7. I like the series hachimitsu ni hatsukoi, but I was also too lazy to comment on it. I guess I took it for granted that the summaries would be there. Really thank you so much for being so wondering and posting all the time. If it wasn't for you I would not know what was happening in my favorite mangas. Again thank you. You are truly the best manga blogger!

  10. Not gonna lie, really disappointed you won't be doing any more summaries on Suki-tte Ii na yo. It's one of my favorite series and I was always so excited to see when you would update a summary of one of the chapters because no one else does. So, unfortunately now I will have to go and scavenger for another who possibly summarizes this series. But whatever, I still like your blog and I hope you continue on other series. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

  11. Totally understand about burning out! Thanks for all these years of doing all the series. Suki is one of my favorites but it's popular so I'm sure someone else will pick it up. Any thoughts on doing those posts where you share your thoughts on the Shonen series you read. You used to do it or maybe I'm just thinking of the tag board. We don't need summaries for those but it was fun to see your thoughts on them.

    1. Thanks for the comment ^-^ Ya, surely, someone else would pick it up ^^

      Ya, I did but it has been a long time since then. These days, it is mostly on the tagboard. I also did and was entertaining the thought of doing that with other shoujo series that I'm not summarizing..unfortunately, I couldn't squeeze in more time to do it..and like the trial before..I might end up summarizing the series in full. ^^;;

  12. I love Suki-tte Ii na yo, having said that, the English translation is usually fairly quick on the manga sites, so I won't cry that you are choosing not to summarize it for us. I greatly appreciate the many summaries you post and look forward to reading more in the future. Thank you, Kat!

  14. I'm sad to hear some series are taking up so much time cause I've been totally wondering whether or not to ask if you read Aozora Yell and had any interest on translating it from where the scans dropped as slowly as you wanted because I love it and it's killing me that it has been dropped? If you managed to summarize that one, I'd start reading all series you like just to comment on them. AND I WRITE REALLY HUGE COMMENTS I swear! But I get it! I'm very, very thankful for the work you do here and it has to be fun to you too, so I'll make sure to comment on all the ones I read! Especially cause I like talking about it!! :D

    1. Unfortunately, I don't read that series. I also don't see it often. *Checking the Chinese scanlations* ..actually, the English scanlations are far ahead. The Chinese only has up to volume 4.

      Thanks for the comment ^-^

    2. Oh dang! I've been praying so much for Aozora Yell to be picked as anime or something anything to make it popular and hurry up the scanlators, I like it more the high school debut, tbh, it's so good and it makes me so sad1 But I get you, boo!! And now that I know that you enjoy comments, I'll just keep making them and annoying you (hopefully not a lot).

  15. WAAAAAA! I was just getting into Hachimitsu ni Hatsukoi then I read this. T.T Too sad. Can you not drop it? D:

  16. Kat, I was so disappoint to see that you stopped translating the Hachimitsu i Hatsukoi series - especially Chapter 15-29, then Chapters 38-68 (referenced raw scans at http://www.dm5.com/manhua-fengmichulian/). I didn't even know that this series existed until the first english translated chapters were posted. Currently, they only have 9 Chapters posted. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, continue with your blogs. Now, that the first few english versions are posted, I'm sure that this series will get more attention and people will be looking for english translations. Especially from us folks that don't understand foreign languages. I have a Tumblr account and I'll let people know that they can read your translations on your site and I'll make sure I comment on your site. I've seen the raw copies, but I don't know what they are saying. Do I need to beg. I will "Oh-Great-Translation-Fairy"...I'll kiss your digital feet :)..

    1. Ahcp, chapters 15-29 wasn't summarized because there was someone who summarized them at that time. That site was 'deleted' so... I didn't summarize it anymore due to lack of interest. It also took a long time for someone to write a comment. I decided to drop it since readers aren't that interested either.

And, it doesn't help that this series bored me starting from the time where I stopped. The ending is very similiar with her previous series, Namida Usagi.
I also have a policy of not summarizing completed series.

To give you an idea, the ending part is, the lead guy is busy with a sports camp and there is this other girl who seems to be giving him a lot of attention. Then, iirc, he was somewhat guilty of leaving girl alone. He immediately came back to assure her of his love. Then, skip to marriage. The end.

Anyway, sorry but I won't summarize it anymore.
