Kedamono Kareshi [Chapter 18]

Looking at the house being demolished, Keita says that it turns out that this is the reason why she is acting somewhat strange. Himari exclaims why he is here. She had sneaked out because she doesn’t want everyone to find out about it. Keita says that she even asked, when it is so obvious just by looking at her and their parents are very worried about her. Not wanting to see her like that, Himari puts on a fake smile and tells him that it is already okay so they can go home. She claims that she was just startled upon knowing this. She tells him to go home first and she’ll follow. Himari hates herself for always being attached to her past. Keita asks if she can even smile at a time like this. Himari denies it. Keita sternly asks how come she didn’t tell them about it. Himari exclaims that it is because she already has a new house and family, a new life, and she also knows that she couldn’t mention her past family again to her new family. Keita scolds her for being an idiot, for it isn’t about ‘shouldn’t say’ since the problem is she’s sad. He tells her that he doesn’t care about family or not family, but he knows that she really values family so it is inevitable that she also values her past family. Keita suggests that if it is difficult for her to tell her mother, how about telling him about it. Himari starts crying and says that in the end, she doesn’t want her valuable house to disappear like that. Keita hugs her and calls her stupid, don’t act strong. Himari cries her feelings out, and still cries while Keita walks with her. Keita gets irritated when the passers-by are thinking badly of him since that pitiful girl is crying because of that awful guy who quarreled with her. Keita darkly tells Himari that she ought to have finished crying. He sighs for Himari continues to sob.

Keita starts complaining that it is inevitable but it’s so annoying. Himari stops crying since she got called annoying. Recalling all the things that Keita did before, Himari thinks that she actually knows that he is a very nice person. Keita laughs upon seeing her awful [just cried] expression. Himari blushes. Keita strokes her head and says that she’s back to normal and they are almost home. Himari’s heart is beating and she couldn’t believe having this feeling when Keita is her younger brother. Then, they hear some explosions. Keita says that it is from a fireworks display nearby. Then, he asks her if she wants to go see it. He claims that her mother would be worried upon seeing her with that look. Flustered Himari asks if it is that bad. He says that it is. So, the two of them are going when Himari’s phone is ringing. She wonders if it is her mother. It is a text from Ryou that club activity has ended and they are going to a nearby fireworks display. He asked if she can go right now because he wanted to see her. Keita asks if it is their mother. Himari looks at Keita and turns off her cellphone. She tells him that it is just a wrong text, just junk[/spam]. Keita smiles and says that they should go. While holding his hand, Himari says okay. At the fireworks display where there are stalls, Ryou’s club members are asking what Ryou is doing, they’ll leave him behind. They ask him if he is waiting for a text since he kept on looking at his cellphone. Ryou says ya, more or less.

Comment: And, Keita pretty much told Himari off about her acting fine and hiding it when her precious old house is being torn down. And, after a good cry, she begins to realize how nice Keita is. With that and an invitation to the fireworks, that is enough for her to lie to Keita about the text and turn off her cellphone without giving Ryou a proper refusal. I guess she is optimistic or stupid enough to not realize that there is a possibility of meeting Ryou in the same place. ^^; I guess the love triangle will finally start. Scans by all★wink汉化组
