Free Talk: Skip Beat 283 spoiler

Raws are out in baidu. It is the conclusion of their talk. There’s a little exchange gift. Can you guess what Kyouko gave him? And most likely, the next chapter is the start of a new arc.

颖幻 of baidu wrote three pointers about what happened. As usual, take it with a grain of salt.

1. Ren’s necklace/pendant was made by Lory when he is about to start his career/debut. It is to remind him ‘do not stop’. In a way, it is the establishment of ‘Tsuraga Ren’s image.

Kyouko thinks that the pendant has been with Ren for years that it is like his ‘other half’. In exchange, she gave him the stone [Corn] that was with her for so many years.

2. In page 14, it is the lines of a marriage vow. ‘Whether in sickness or in health, all my life, I’ll be with you’. Although it is towards Kyouko’s stone but it caused Kyouko to blush. Actually, Ren is playing around with her secretly.

3. In the end, Ren passes by the screen. Cedric’s concert is about to start and Ren clenches his fist.

*○o..:*(*´-ω)(ω-`*)*:..o○*

That’s a nice touch ^^ So, even if they aren’t going steady, there is already that ‘understanding’ that they are kind of taken? ^^ So, Corn the stone is back to its original owner and the cause of all that trauma is back. I'll add more comments if I have more insights when the English scanlation is out.

  1. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love the fact that Ren has the stone back! I think the new arc will settle everything with ren and kyoko's past

  2. Thanks for the update ^_^
It feels like an ending to an arc, it was calm and quiet, more like the extension of last chapter. I liked how Kyoko remembered that Ren is not joking at the right time when she thought he was not serious. I guess now she understands Ren wants to marry her in the future which is good, she at least can set her mind at ease and focus on her job.

    2. what I liked was how Kyoko said I am going to give you half of my and thinking she took half of ren with her. I thought that mindset is what is going to help both Kyoko and Ren facing their demons in the next arc. I wish sensei would revert back to her previous art style though, it feels incomplete how the new chapters have been drawn compared to the previous chapters and sensei's other works.

    3. Yup, that was nice. ^^

Hm...the art style tends to continuously evolve especially if a series runs a long time.

Incomplete in what way? Less pages than before?

    4. less detailed. I am sure you also have noticed this. I still love it nonetheless but there has been too many discussions about it. And then there was someone saying that sensei's health is declining and now I am very worried. I would love to see this story to end and I love all sensei's works.

    5. I read that the chapters are incomplete because of covid 19. Something about the sensei being left without assistants who refine these details

    6. I see, El4n1.

Well, as jessyxx explained the reason, I guess, it will be redrawn when the volume is released.

    7. Thanks, I am glad sensei is going fine. I can wait forever for the chapters to be completed, not that I have anything against them this way. The story is amazing and sensei is amazing

  3. Ive been following you blog for years. i like your insights..Even though I've been following the manga for 10 years, its still one I feel has progressed quite well. I find it quite interesting that the Corn stone has reunited with Kuon in time with the root of his trauma coming face to face with him. Im interested to know more of the dynamics he had with his cousin though, he seems quite horrible. Ren/Kuon is quite empathic so its no wonder he just took it all in to the point he almost lost himself :( Anyway i am glad they hve made vows of sorts, although i have to say its a nice touch having kyoko dash away kyoko style lol. Thank you for sharing your insights. Hope to keep reading more

  4. Kat, Do you know how we can get any news about Nakamura Sensei's health? Someone was saying her health conditions were declining, and now I am worried. I will be praying for her health since I love her works,

    1. I actually don't know, El4n1. I don't think she has a social media account like twitter.

Is it just a rumor? I'm thinking it might be a theory since we are having less pages per chaper compare to the usual. I tried googling about it but I didn't find any news about it.

    2. Same here, I heard it from someone in a Skip Beat group. I tried googling it too but i couldn't find any news about her. I barely found one picture of sensei. I was wondering if there was a Japanese news source that google could not find or something where we could check news but I don't know Japanese >.<

    3. It's possible that it's in Japanese news/social media. From what jessyxx wrote above, what I only heard/read iirc in the blurbs in the chapters, is that the assistants have trouble going to her place because of the virus...there was a lockdown somewhere in Japan...Tokyo, etc...though I don't know if it still affects them.
