Kono Oto Tomare [Chapter 81 - Another Option]

Michi is surprised to see Tetsuki standing at the door way. Tetsuki asks if he can come in. Michi says yes, but right now, he is going to fetch Hana because it seems that she has a fever. “I might also have to go to the hospital--...”

Aki and Momo see Tetsuki. They call out to him and hug him. Tetsuki tells the two that it has been a long time and they have grown. The boys ask if Tetsuki came to play with them but Michi tries to tell them to stop it.

Tetsuki says that it is alright, he’ll go and watch over the two. “You go and fetch Hana-chan.” Michi hesitates. Grabbing an umbrella, Michi apologizes and says that he’ll come back as early as possible. Tetsuki says ya, take care. Tetsuki watches Michi leave. Then, he sighs.
In the club, Natsu has just finished playing the drums. While Natsu is catching his breath, glasses boss comments that it is such a loud sound but that is merely noise. “Does it have something to do with the club again? Lately, it is quite rare to hear your sound like, it seems you’re enjoying it.”

Natsu stares at him and says, ha? This surprises glasses boss that he tensely calls out to Natsu. Natsu stands up and says that his ears aren’t broken, right.

Then, he recalls Atsumu telling him that he didn’t properly see Michi being quite serious so Natsu can say casually say those words. ‘How come you’ll say that kind of words...!!!’ <- Michi ‘You look down on us’ <- previous club members.
Natsu smiles and thinks, “Ah, ah, in the end... *mutters* it is still the same as before. *thinks* Doing the same thing together at the same time, if it isn’t like that---” He takes a towel and hold it tightly.

Carrying Hana, Michi returns to his house. He enters inside and wonders what’s that nice smell. He is surprised to see the living room all cleaned. The toys are all put inside a container. All the shirts are folded neatly at the side.

The boys welcome him back and ask if Hana is okay. Michi says ya. They tell him that dinner is about to be ready. Michi asks if they made it, and also cleaning the room. They say no, all of it is done by Tetsuki!
Tetsuki says that he’s back and he just borrowed the kitchen for a while. Michi quickly apologize for it but Tetsuki says it is alright since Momo and Aki also helped out. The boys giggle.

Holding the broken makeshift koto, Tetsuki tells him to ask Chika to make him a new one since Chika is an expert on this. He bends down to the two boys and says okay, the two of them still has something to tell their brother, right.

The two boys timidly apologize to Michi for destroying his important thing. Michi acknowledges the apology.
Later on, the boys perk up upon seeing karaaga [fried chicken nuggets] and salad on the table. They exclaim that it looks really delicious. Putting a bowl on the table, Tetsuki says that for the meantime, is it okay for him to make congee for Hana. Michi apologizes to Tetsuki again.

Hana declares that she wants to eat karaaga. Michi tells her to wait until she’s well. The boys scream itadakimasu!!! They take a bite and exclaim that it is delicious, Tetsuki is a genius!!!

While Hana is glaring at him, Michi takes a bite and becomes teary-eyed. He says, “Ah...really delicious...” Tetsuki smiles over this.
While Tetsuki and Michi are washing the dishes, Michi thanks him for today. “Honestly speaking, if you didn’t come, I’m afraid that I would have gone crazy.”

Tetsuki tells him that when things are really bad, he should contact them whether it is night or early morning. “Anyone will do. Me, Chika, Sane, Kouta and the other koto members. Everyone are your friends [/nakama], right.” Michi looks surprised. Ding Dong. Tetsuki says, speaking of the devil...

Drenched in the rain, Chika, Sane and Kouta arrive. Sane says that the rain is so strong. Chika angrily asks how come they don’t have an umbrella and it is too strange for three guys to share one umbrella. Kouta says that he thinks that they can barely pull it off with an umbrella.
Michi says, you guys... They apologize to Michi and ask if they can borrow a towel. Michi watches them as they complain about their soaked shoes. Michi quickly turns and says that he’ll quickly get it. Kouta thanks him.

Later on, Sane exclaims what, Tetsuki made tonight’s dinner!? Chika asks Tetsuki for his share. Tetsuki says that he’ll only have the leftover smell [of the chicken]. While Tetsuki fends off Chika’s attacks, Momo asks Sane and Kouta if everyone came here today to play.

Sane apologizes to him and says no, they didn’t come to play today, rather, they came to chat with his brother. This surprises Michi. Michi nervously asks talk about what. Sane tells him that starting tomorrow, they will take turns in helping him out in his house. Michi looks surprised and says huh?
An has arrived and notices a lot of shoes in front of the door. She wonders if Michi’s friends came over. Michi asks what are they saying. Sane says that regarding fetching Hana, making dinner and other things, they’ll also think of a way to do them.

Kouta says that three days in a week, he, Chika and Sane will share the burden [/help out]. “Tetsuki will be responsible for Saturday. That way during 5 days in a week, you can put in all your effort to join the club activity. It can be done if we think of a way.” [<- I don’t quite understand how they are splitting up the time ^^;;]

Flustered Michi protests, no, this will be quite a hassle. Chika asks him if he wants to do his best in playing this current piece [/you don’t want to simplify the musical score, right]. Michi bites his lips and says ya...
Sane says that if it is like that then, it can only be like this! Kouta agrees. While everyone is posing with the boys, Sane happily says, “It is possible that the pressure [/burden] is huge for one person but if we were to share it together, then there’s not much pressure anymore!”

Michi is on the verge of tears. Tetsuki says but, there’s no need for the others to help because just by himself, it is already enough [/he can do it alone]. “I’m not joining any club.” Sane calls him stupid and tells him not to say that since it isn’t easy to be cool while being determined.

Someone asks if Kouta can cook. Kouta[?] says that it is amazing. Someone says that it is obviously an original creation <- the food you make is very ‘unique’. Kouta says, so mean. Clenching his fist, Michi says everyone, I’m really grateful...really sorry, thanks.”
Sane and Kouta smile. Sane says that if they encountered the same situation, he’ll definitely also help them out like this. An looks thoughtful. Soon, Chika and others bid Michi goodbye and that they’ll see him tomorrow.

After they left, An calls out to Michi. Michi says that she’s back and today, Tetsuki and others came over— An says she knows and she overheard everything. “In a while, is it convenient for us to talk?” Michi looks surprised.

The next day, lost in thought Michi is folding his futon. Then, his cellphone beeps. It is Chika asking if he is awake. “Right now, I’m outside your house.” Michi quickly opens the door to see Chika holding a koto, a paper bag and his school bag.
Chika greets him a good morning and apologizes for coming in the morning. Michi says that it is nothing so what’s up that he came over now. Shoving the koto and paper bag to Michi, Chika says he wants to first lend him this and he can use it at home.

Michi looks at the koto and says that this is...this is his grandfather’s koto. Chika says ya. Michi calls him an idiot for lending out something very important. “You have seen it right, that cardboard koto!!” Pointing to the bag, Chika says the remade koto is in that bag. “But, it’s better to practice with the real thing.”

Michi says no, that is true but what if it is scratched. Chika says isn’t that good, it has this feeling that it has been practiced on for a long time. “I want to lend it to you. It’s alright. Also, gramps’ koto isn’t that fragile. *turns to leave* It’s okay for you to return it whenever you want. Bye.”
Michi calls out to Chika and says that for him to receive all this kind of... “I obviously don’t play that well yet right now [doing this for me] *looks down* and even lend me this very important koto...”

Chika looks at him and says, “Didn’t you join the koto club with me? *surprised Michi looks at him* You obviously totally have no interest in koto but you still joined in order for the club that gramps created to continue on existing. You’ve joined the koto club together with me.”

Chika turns to leave. Tears start to fall down Michi’s face. He cries as he holds the things that Chika brought for him.
At school, Hiro exclaims in disbelief over what they did and she wants to help out too. Satowa also wants to help. Sane says there’s no need since the president, vice-president and Satowa are the club’s foundation and they still need to support the club side.

Atsumu goes, me, me, me... Chika tells him to do his own thing [/play well] first. While Kouta comforts dejected Atsumu, Hiro says but, it is really good. “Even if this thing happened, still want to know what the outcome will be. There is a bit of hope! Right, Kurata!!” Takezou slightly smiles at her and says ya. Chika looks at him.

In the faculty room, Suzuka holds a piece of note. He mutters, didn’t hang in there... It is notice about quitting the club by Natsu due to wanting to increase his [parttime] work.
Comment: Well, one problem is somewhat resolved. Michi’s burden will definitely be lighter with the others helping him out with the chores. It seems he is really bothered about troubling others so he didn’t ask for help.

I think what Chika did and say ought to be a boost of self-worth for Michi. That’s a lot of trust Chika is giving Michi. And for someone like Michi who is practically a loner, this is a huge thing. In a way, it is like helping out/being friends is greater than any material thing even if it is a treasured thing.

After all, what if he damaged the koto. Will Chika still be okay with it later on? Of course, Chika probably trust him enough to be careful with it. After what happened earlier, his siblings would most likely be careful too ^^ I wonder what An wanted to talk about. It made Michi lost in thought the next morning.

Tetsuki really knows how to deal with the kids and housework. After all, he had practice with Chika ^^ I think the other guys can handle most of the things to do except cooking. ^^; Thinking about it, is it normal for a rich kid especially male, to know how to do household chores?

Natsu is indeed bothered by what they have told him as evident in his playing. What they told him are in some ways similar with what his ex-club members said. They think Natsu belittles them, and they assume that Natsu doesn’t know that they are playing very sincerely.

Without Natsu, I think they will be forced to revise the musical score. What would be easier, let him be or get him back? If they are going to get him back, who’ll do it? The club leaders or the ones who caused the issue? And, how are they going to do it? Scans by 诺大王 of baidu.

  1. thank you for the summary
it is nice to see mitchi's friends helping him out in this tought time, i'm impressed by tetsuki i actually thought he would hire a nanny or something to handle house work (since he can't afford it) but amazingly he knew how much mitchi is alreasy burdened by their help let alone a stranger. i think there are some wealthy people (elf-made wealth) who doesn't like their kids to be spoiled so they show them how hard it as for them to get this wealth by raising them normally or it could be that he spent most his time alone as a child due to both or them working and out of bordem starting doing things to pass time and then ended up being good at them. i think mitchi's sister wants perheps to finally help since she saw how series mitchi is and how his friends are also willing to help him while she (his family) is more buy with school/riends than helping him or maybe it is something else like she will quit school to help at home and he should focus on club who knows

natsu i knew he would quit and it is interesting how he said he wants to work more parttime than the actual reason , the thing is people like natsu don't like explaining themselves and their expressions are hard to read therefore they are easily misunderstood and he is not doing anything to clear the misunderstanding i mean obviously atsumu and more mitchi were wrong but he can't really expect hem to read his mind , sigh i quite feel bad for him but at the same time i do also wish he but 5% extra effort into expressing what annoys him i think he got this habbit from living alone with his mom (and i'm assuming step dad since he doesn't interact much with him) and that getting out of othr people's way is the only methos he knows and that's why he quit cux he could get out of the way of the team's harmony i think both michi and atsumu need to apologize but i doubt that alone is enough

Yup. Hiring a temporary nanny? Hm...is it easy to find one in Japan?

I do wonder how that works though...like a rich family not hiring help at all...or just a parttime help. Iirc, their house is big so I cannot quite imagine Tetsuki would be cleaning it all by himself. I'm leaning more on the latter one.

I'm not sure if she can help more since she is graduating and wanted to go to a specific school = going to cram school. When you say quit school...is that cram school or school? Nevertheless, I think it isn't quite practical especially since their parents already paid for it and everything.

Haha, but then, I couldn't quite guess what she wants to tell him. ^^; My first guess was something about Michi himself...like not asking for help or something.

      True.

    2. about the nanny it's more like a domestic help i wouldn't say it is easy but not impossible either . since his family is mostly busy with work i would say the only thing they need to do at home is the cooking and maybe that's why he knows how to cook because he had to eed himself such as natsu and his busy mom and him having to do things on his own it's just an assumption that eventhough maybe they had help at home since he was bored he started ding these things to kill time
for mitchi's sister i was thinking that she will quit things like afterschool club or cramschool to have more hour to help at home and mitchin being michi didn't like that since his "selfeshness " is causing his sister trouble in his opinion
i'm quite excited to see how the natsu situation will unfold can't wait for next month

      thanks emmahoshi

    3. Cooking...I can guess that it might be a hobby/likes to do. It is the cleaning and folding clothes neatly among other things that I wonder about. But then, perhaps, if they had a help before when he was a kid and he watched/imitate ^^

I see. Though, I'm not sure Michi would let her do that since she needs that cram school to get to the school she wants, and it is probably paid for already.

      Yup ^^

  2. Thank you for the summary. I posted 2 days ago but it did not go through. What I thought was going to happen is going to happen. Everyone is going to chip in and help Michi. I hope it works out for him. I love Chika and his cool moments. He is straightforward and when he says what he does, his friend always take it to heart like with Kouta etc.

Natsu is really invested in this club. It is heartbreaking to see him quitting. He is so easily misunderstood. He means well, but his words and expressions. Atsumu and mitchi is wrong for what they said, but they were upset. Michi will definitely apologize to him. I also hoping Chika says something to him. He is one of the few who, if I remember correctly, did not really say anything about him. He was the one who told Natsu they needed him for their part in camp.

  3. Chika is such a good friend... lending that important koto is most definitely not easy but he did it anyway... I love how he said that his gramp's koto is not that fragile... SO sweet that boy...

About Natsu, other members probably feel frustrated with him... He closed himself so much that he come across as uninterested in the club... Plus he such a quick learner that other members feel jealous about it even though they didn't realise it... Chika will never said such thing to him because he know how it feel to be misunderstood... he probably will do something about Natsu in next chapter... Tho in my opinion, Natsu do have to stop his current lifestyle where he skip the club to go flirting... His part time, I don't really mind...

Anyway, thank you for the translations... I always read your translation while waiting for scanlations to be released... sorry for being a silent reader all this time...

That's possible. Hm...I got the impression that he replaced flirting with going to the club.

  4. While I laughed way too hard with SnK last chapter, despite being supposedly and intense and emotional chapter, this here is where and when I actually feel that I'm supposed to. As always, thanks for the hard work, Kat. Really appreciate it.

I kinda had this in mind, but Micchi being stubborn and maybe even too prideful to ask for help, it had to be the guys forcing him to let them help, Tetsuki first was a surprise, though I know he's the best of them all in reading the mood and characters.

I was never rich, but since I was about 5y I've been helping out with house chores, including cooking for my younger siblings. So, maybe he took up some chores as a hobby since it looks like his parents are always at work and he's often alone in the house? and yea, practice with Chika for how many years is the best way to prepare yourself for almost everything, lol.

Natsu just gave up, but I'm not really thinking the gave up on the club, but himself. Like, he can't quite understand himself, and even when he's able to get a glimpse of what he really wants, he shies away from it. Maybe fear of actual rejection - like it was happening when the others said some words that shook him, just like he always does, though it'd seem he can't take the truth, only speak it. Also interested to see how things will go from here, maybe Micchi's the one to go "fetch" him back?
    -
About SnK, him not dying is also a reason, but I can't take anything Gabi related serious anymore. I don't know what the authors planned for her, but if he wanted me to hate her, it failed - though I'm still sad because of Sasha. If he wanted me to sympathize, it also fail, though I can see the effort in that regards, so I really don't know how am I suppose to take her character. Besides, the herculean strength needed to pick that AA rifle from the ground, aim and fire with pinpoint accuracy while emotionally unstable and shaking all over is just beyond what I'm willing to accept, so I just nod and smile, lol.

Ere's probably alive though, remember the warhammer ability? Or even Reiner's bs way of transferring consciousness? But I'm guessing it'd be nice to see how the others react to his death, and if he's actually dead, I'd probably be laughing even if I see Mikasa's regret and sadness overtaking her, just like we speculated with Armin's, lol.

    1. Thanks for reading, Fê ^-^

I see. Hm...wasn't Tetsuki kind of like a 'father-figure' to the four? 😅

True, though at most, I thought it would be cooking...but for the rest, I'm not inclined to think rich kids would want to do the other chores. Haha, yup ^^

Possible. Or perhaps, both. In a way, do you think he is an impatient type? He did see something with this group but since it is becoming like the old one, he doesn't plan on hanging around to know for sure. I guess it really doesn't help that he is being treated as the 'bad guy'. Yup...though not sure if it will only be Michi.

      - - -

Lol. Well, with all the unbelievable things happening in the series, I think we can give some leeway for that possibility = given the circumstance, she managed to do it.

True especially since she left the scarf.

      Delete
    2. He is, especially on Chika's case.

I don't think so either, but then again, most rich kids wouldn't bat any eye to Michi's situation so it's kinda hard to compared rl to this manga especially. We just gotta know that Tetsuki is a men's man, lol.

I think more than everything, he's a scared boy, like, he's been left alone so many times by his parents that now he mess around with girls the doesn't actually like just to have someone around, he plays as a fill in in bands just so he has an excuse to not compromise himself in order to avoid being left out, so he himself leaves first, exactly like what is happening right now with the club. He's actually a very careful built character if you take it this way. I thought Michi 'cuz it was mostly "because" of him that Natsu left, so it'd make some sense having him do it.
      -
Yea, like I said, I don't take it seriously anymore, for a very long time tbh, that's why I could only laugh at a chapter that was supposed to make feel you bad/sad due to all the circumstances. And Gabi has cockroach's blood too, don't ever forget that, lol.

That's why I want to see her reaction to his "death" - I don't believe he's actually dead. Sasha was one thing but you never know.

      Delete
    3. Yup ^^ Actually, won't even bother with Chika, right? I wonder if we'll have some backstory later on about them.

I see. Good points. I'm thinking that it has to be more than just him. There's also Atsumu.

      - - -

      Lol, true.

Hehe, ya. Hm...somehow, I'm wondering if the mangaka is going for a 'new generation' of titans wherein the 'old ones' will be replaced/if not merged = eaten then the remaining ones will change the world.

      Delete
    4. Oh but we must, I mean, Chika's been hinted to have the most "heavy" background out of all of them, so I'm guessing Tetsuki was one of the few people that actually understood him and/or put him together to become this Chika we know since chapter 1.

      Yea, though in mind Atsumue's serve as a reflected mirror since he's so naive and honest, while Natsu is the complete opposite, or he tries to;
      -
      That sure seems like it but I don't know if it'd be a good idea. I mean, just talk to anyone reading and see if any new characters are liked? Gabi is hated almost as Reiner, but Reiner was loved before the revelation, Falco? I never gave any mind to him and I haven't seen anyone saying how good a character he is and how they like him. I doubt anyone remembers the name of any other char since this new "phase" started, and we still love Annie, after everything she did and after all this time - she should be hated, but the one people hate the most is a brat that knows nothing of the word - Gabi - and Annie knew all too well what she was doing and why;

So it might be very risk in terms of popularity, if the author doesn't intend to finish the entire manga in at most five more chapter, I don't see how it'd sustain itself with the character we have now - only if Levy, Hange, Pixis, Armin and Mikasa are left and with the most important roles.

      Delete
    5. True, though I would think that Tetsuki has to go way back...like childhood friends, etc for him to bother with Chika. Like, if they just met during junior high/high school [ah, Chika repeat the year, right], it would be unlikely for Tetsuki to be like that towards him.

True. Somehow, I wonder if the mangaka would aim for something like what happened between Chika and Takezou.

      - - -

Hm...comparing Annie vs Gabi, somehow, I thought...is it the looks =P Haha, anyway, I think Gabi is more annoying like noisy...compared to the silent type Annie ^^ Hm...the mangaka can still make them 'change', right...to become likeable...if ever?

True. So, perhaps, create new characters? A new batch...like say in Naruto -> Boruto. If it is planned to milk the series while they can...aside from the side stories/spin offs.

      Delete
    6. Yea, and since I ship him with the "auntie" lol, they must know each from a long time now;

I wouldn't know, this manga is so good and throw us for a loop whenever we try to guess what now, we didn't foresee at all this Michi problem, though it was kinda foreshadowed. Good stuff, right here.
      -
Nah, if it was, I think people'd like Gabi more since she does look better, though she's still just a child, literally, like 12y? Anni's fine, but her nose, lol.

      I don't know if Gabi can ever be redeemed, Annie could because while she was acting as evil, we caught glimpses of why and with Lost Girls, it's even more visible to grasp that conflicting feelings of hers; while Gabi is just, ugh, can't stand her. Yea, she's been brainwashed since forever, she's confused and doesn't know who or what to trust, but she's still VERY annoying;

Boruto is so bad that I had to stop after three pages of the first chapter, and I tortured myself with Naruto since the beginning, not a good comparison imo, lol.

Spins are a good way to profit even if the main series is trash, so that might be the way.

    7. Haha, I see ^^

      Yup ^^

      - - -

Really...? Don't most people have a thing for blondes [girls]? 😋 I guess I'm not one of those people who think Gabi looks better 😅

Hm...is it possible to say that Gabi was just 'caught up in the action' = too many things/revelations happening at once that she couldn't process things...ends up doing what she still believes in. Haha, true. I wonder if it will be more 'very annoying' when it is animated.

It wasn't? 😅 What other series continues on to the 'next generation'/new cast interacting with surviving cast?

Yup ^^ Especially if it is still quite popular.

    8. Well, imo, Annie's one of the ugliest character in SnK, though I love her personality. Even compared to some random girls from the very beginning or that officer that responded directly to Levy, even one-eyed Hanges look better, but that's obviously my own biased. It's not like she's really ugly, it's just that nose make everything worse, lol.

Yea, like I said, she's confused, doesn't know what to trust nor what's right or wrong anymore, besides being through hell, confessed by the one she had feelings for but didn't realize up until this moment, and then the world just turns upside down for the third time - in her perspective, so I do understand her actions and confusion, it works for her as a character, but I just can't relate to her at all. Might have something to do with her killing Sasha and from then I could never like her, but alas, I digress.

I hope not, but I fear it'll be annoying as hell, since anime tend to pull these characteristics and exaggerate even more. And if she's still a very hated char, I doubt they'll try to change, unless they - and the author - really want her to be a very important and remaining characters.

      Dragon Ball, though I don't watch nor read it anymore, Dragon Ball could pull this, but by only bringing back the really loved characters such as Goku and Vegeta, they've died tons of times, but people love'em so the author had to bring them back in one way or another to please the readers, though Jump is knows for that kinda thing, intervening whenever their best selling works threatens to sell less for one reason or another;

Boruto is just..... Bad, like, awful. Imo, they should just made it so they continue their lives as adults, with new challenges and responsibilities such as kids, their jobs, alliances made to keep peace and so on. I've seen some episodes of the anime, hoping it was better/different, and it was until certain points, but even then, it just seemed like they're trying too hard to pass some message to the people reading than just making a good story to people read - and as a literature professor, I can't have it, don't have the stomach for that, lol.

      Delete
    9. Lol. I did recall about it being mentioned that a nose can make or break a face...hence, the popularity of nose lift/nose job.

      Haha...possible. Subconscious hate? ^^

True. I'm not sure if they'll make her less annoying just because she'll be important. Has that happened in other anime?

Hm...what series did they intervene which resulted into less sales? I recall that there was a new DB series...though still has the complete cast but different enemy. In AoT, is the possibility of Eren surviving less than that of Levi's?

Ah, something like lecturing the viewers?

      Delete
    10. Just as a curiosity, I had an student that had a nose surgery by age of 13y and many other that wished they also could have had.
      -
After exposing so much, I doubt it can be called subconscious anymore, right? lol
      -
Right now, I can't recall any character that was insufferable that later on turned out at least okay, I really don't. I do know a bunch that I found to be always kinda annoying, but like'em either way, so they don't exactly count.
      -
The most popular one, where Gohan first appeared and I think Goku first died in the very beginning. He was supposed to stay dead and the lead'd be his son, Gohan, buuuuuuuut you know, Goku is still the leader even in the spin off the most people don't like and even now, after a "forced" come back of the series - good that the author really knows how to please the audience, bad that he must sacrifices what he himself wants to do.

I don't think Eren's is dead/died in this chapter, nor do I think Levy will die soon, but at the very end of the series yes, I do think Eren will die while Levy lives on, after all, Eren's on the clock, literally.

Yea, but with bad lecturing, if you know what I mean. Like, you can do w/e because your parents have the power to cover up all your misdeeds, then only slightly scold you for them and that's the end of it. Bad, very bad way of conveying your message, especially if said character continues to act the same way after being scolded and seeing how his parents will always cover for him, he says he learned the lesson, but acts the same? I had to quit.

    11. Was s/he well to do? Actually, how is plastic surgery viewed in your place? Here, it isn't viewed that well since the 'natural beauty' would usually gloat that her face is 100% natural. Plastic surgery is also one of the subjects people would use to bash other people.

      Haha, true.

      I see.

Ah...so is that way Gohan had somewhat of a potential but ended up eclipse by the one and only Goku? I do recall that the third season/part...the author passed on the baton for someone else to continue it.

True...but being fiction and things can bend due to public demand, I think that can be somewhat remedied with some deus ex machina.

      Ah...sound like what happens to rich spoiled brat types in real life. ^^;

  5. The manga has started slowing down. It's zooming in on characters it seems. There are not many people left to focus on now after Michi and the edgy teen. We might see some doki doki moments after the edgy teen chapter.

Although I do feel where natsu is coming from. Most of the times our effort is judged according to our presence. It doesn't matter how much we thought by ourself and prepared mentally for a particular job unless we show our face to the others everyday. People just assume that such people are talented when in fact we think a lot over what we are supposed to do and then we execute that action to perfection. It was the same for me in my school and the University. No matter the project or assignment, they coutned my effort according to my presence in activities. Sometimes, others just hinder our progress and it is better off doing our thing by ourself.

And I think Natsu might have been thinking along the same lines, that no one understands that very struggle and they have tried to mold us according to their own views. Well, I won't blame him although he has misunderstood things this time. Atsumu himself forced his opinion on Natsu. This might have caused him to react on the club as a whole. Since everyone just assumes he is talented and doesn't recognise the effort he puts in by himself. Sometimes even I have felt that calling someone talented is just ignoring the fact that they might have worked hard on something by themselves assuming that they didn't do anything and got so far through sheer gift.

    1. Maybe...I hope so ^^

      True. About this 'Sometimes, others just hinder our progress and it is better off doing our thing by ourself. ' is that like, doing the group project separately or do the project by oneself? Though in music, isn't playing together important? Like, 'the group feeling'? But then, the others cannot play it that well yet. ^^;

      Yup.

    2. Even in music, I would assume that a person has to adjust to other people's music more than making his own music. He has to express himself with the group. If he only expresses himself then he kinda might not be in tandem with the other. Although as we can see, that guy from meiryou or whatever school that came second in the national was able to bring out the best in everyone else as well, that's a different case.

But you can't develop your skills while worrying about matching the others. I mean those who are not good enough will find that they improve in a group. But assuming the level Natsu is at, he might not take it that way. He needs his own thought process as well. It can clearly be seen with the way he plays drums all by himself expressing himself freely and thinking things through.

Well, somehow I can totally relate to this. I am forced to work and attend classes everyday even though I can do things by myself. Teachers tend to control us a lot. They keep telling us that you don't need to learn this at this point in time and you keep confusing the rest of the class since they haven't gotten so far. Many a times this restricts our growth. We have to comply to a certain standard and it kinda kills our own thought process.

    3. True.

      I see.

So, I guess, they'll have to balance it somehow...in a group but not 'muting one's individual playing'. In a way, Tokize's edge has been the 'feeling' they give to the audience rather than for it to sound impressive.

    4. Yes, because most of the foreign audience or even the Japanese audience I would assume aren't aware of the koto. This anime might do to koto what slam dunk did to basketball in Japan. That's a good thing. And yes, I would agree with the fact that the mangaka has been able to elicit emotions clearly from his readers.
