“Come with me, shameful woman.” Hayame
looks surprised at smirking Issei. While the bum is busy grabbing the money
that has flown away, Hayame asks what does he mean. Issei says, “S-o, I’m
saying that I’ll give you a place to sleep. Understand? Although it isn’t a big
deal if you starve to death.”
Puzzled Hayame wonders, “I don’t know what
his goal is. Why would he do this kind of thing for me? Even if it is me, I
cannot possibly just casually go to some stranger’s house. I’m also cautious no
matter what kind of dire state I had fallen into.”
Issei looks down on the sand and sees the
word ‘curry’ written on the sand. He asks, “You want to eat curry?” This
startles Hayame. Soon, in disbelief, Hayame is sitting beside Issei in the car.
She is angry at herself because she is
already at her limit!! Issei tells the driver to pass by the convenient store.
Looking suspicious at the old butler-like driver, Hayame thinks that he even
has a matching driver...
“Where are we going? I also haven’t ridden
such a high class car before... I had already become quite uneasy.” The car
stops and Issei tells her that they’re here so get down.
While pulling her luggage, Hayame watches
Issei walking towards a huge Japanese mansion surrounded by some greenery. Hayame
asks, “...where is this, some hiding place?” Issei tells her that it is his
house, stupid. This shocks Hayame as she looks at Issei suspiciously.
Issei tells her to be quick and stop
looking distracted. Hayame couldn’t believe that this is his house. As Issei
opens the door and walks in, Hayame tells him to wait, what about his family!?
He tells her that they’re not here.
After taking off their shoes, Issei walks
in as Hayame follows him. They pass by a living room and continue to walk the
long hallway. Hayame thinks that it is a mansion. Issei calls out to her, “What
are you doing? Quickly get in. It is already too late for you to heighten up your
vigilance now.”
Hayame gulps and wonders what kind of
person this guy is. And, there is a bottled drink and curry on the table.
[<- from the convenient store] Shocked Hayame asks if she can eat it.
“Itakadimasu.”
Issei sits on the chair by the side and
proudly watch Hayame eat. Hayame is teary-eyed for it is so delicious. Issei
asks her why she is living in that kind of place. “Won’t it be better if you go
back to your parents’ home?”
Hayame says that she doesn’t want to go
back because of various reasons. “I also cannot think of some other suitable
place...” Issei goes hmph. Hayame wonders if he is a good person. Issei says
that means that right now, she really doesn’t have anything at all.
He stands up and tells her to wait a
moment. He goes to the side of the room. Puzzled Hayame wonders what will he
give her again. Issei says that anyway, this isn’t quite something good so this
will do for now. He sits in front of her and holds out a piece of paper and a
pencil. “Ta da.”
Puzzled Hayame asks what is it. He tells
her to look at the paper. On the paper, there is a list of things to do with a
corresponding amount of money that one will receive. 2. Receive 50000 yen 3.
Successfully flirt with a guy in the street 4. Steal from the convenient store.
Get 100,000 yen. 5. Become a hostess in a high class nightclub. Receive 100,000
yen.
Issei asks, “Aren’t you a homeless? I’ll
temporarily lend you a room. While you’re lodging here, let’s play a game. This
is the condition for letting you stay here.” Holding the paper, Hayame asks
game, what’s the goal...?
Putting the pencil on the table, Issei
holds up his hands and says there’s no goal. “It is simply passing time. After
you roll over that pencil, you’ll resign yourself to fate. That kind of
realistic life game*. I am letting you stay here for free so try to please me
for a while, okay.”
[*I think it is like spin a bottle but
here, she will roll the pencil and see where it stops on the paper. Where it
stops is what she’ll do to get money.]
Hayame wonders if this guy is planning on
making me play this...? He takes the paper from her and tells her not to touch.
“Don’t dirty it. How long has it been since you have taken a bath?” Irked
Hayame shouts, ha!?
Issei says what ha, he’ll let her quickly
wash her whole body clean. “What’s the difference between a person who slept
outdoors for a good number of days and a pest?” Hayame thinks that she is indeed
very dirty. “Even if he’s young, he is so cold-hearted. Until now, he is always
like that.”
Hayame says that it is rare for him to be
so zealous but she declines. Issei asks why. She tells him that kind of game is
too silly that she couldn’t play through it. “If it is like that, then it would
be better for me to find work like an ordinary person. After I finish eating,
I’ll leave. Thank you.”
Issei looks surprised then he pouts. He
holds out his hand and tells her that she isn’t allow to eat. “Give that back to
me.” Holding the curry away, Hayame asks why, she won’t [give it back]. He
tells her to give∙it∙back.
She tells him that he bought that curry for
her right!? “Even if there are leftovers, you’ll simply just throw it away!” He
says that she’s noisy to death. “If you won’t listen to me, then quickly give
it back to me. If you want to eat, then get that pencil!” Hayame shouts, “I
refuse!!”
Standing up, Issei rolls up his sleeve and
asks if she’s a brat. Hayame says he’s the brat. The two furiously glares at
each other. Soon, he chases after her. She slips and the curry dish flew away. It
barely misses Issei who managed to evade it.
Lying on the floor, Hayame holds her head
after falling and says that hurts. She sits up and sees the curry dish had just
hit the Japanese scroll on the wall. This made Hayame pale and tense. With a
sinister smile, Issei says that painting costs 3,000,000 yen. This shocks
Hayame.
She says, wait, 3 million is... Clapping
his hands, Issei taunts her to give him compensation. “Apologizing is useless.
Give∙me∙compensation!” Hayame protests that it is because he did that childish
thing so that had happened. “I... I’ll go find work and pay you back! Even if I
cannot immediately pay in full but I’ll definitely pay it!”
Issei darkly tells her, but he wants her to
immediately pay it in full. “Don’t you know what is your current plight?
*Hayame shivers* On whose hand do you think that initiative should come from?”
Silence.
Then, Hayame is surprised when Issei hits
his fist on his palm and says “I know. It seems like it can only be this way.
*takes the pencil from the table* Come, try and roll this pencil!” Hayame looks
at the pencil and mutters, this...
She wonders if this guy is for real. “Even
if this is also not such a bad thing... I’ll be able to stay in such a big
house and there is even a fulltime driver... He ought to be rich since he can
hang a 3 million scroll on the wall...
...If this guy is for real, compared to
leaving here and working hard to earn the money to settle the debt, this way is
possibly right and more efficient. By the way, is that thing really 3 million?
But, I also couldn’t bring myself to ask that... Ah, geez, what should I
do...!”
She is startled when Issei asks if she is
thinking of all sorts of things over there. “Quickly decide and I’ll treat this
incident as if it didn’t happen.”
After looking surprised, she says, ah. She
thinks that this is bad, because right now, if she made this guy unhappy...!
Hayame says, wait, she’s still a bit startled! “I’m really sorry for dirtying
the wall scroll. Really. *puts hands together* Do not be so sensitive. Let us
properly get along. Can we have a little chat?”
He looks at her which puzzles her. Issei
sighs and says, “Ah~? It really cannot be helped. What is it? What do you want
to ask me?” Hayame wonders if he is an idiot that he’ll easily... Hayame asks
him about his family. “If I stay here, don’t you need to ask for their
consent?”
Stretching his arms while heading towards
the door, Issei says that there’s no need. “That is because only I and Yoshitora
[guesswork from 吉寅] stays here.”
Hayame asks if Yoshitora is the driver.
Issei says yes, his parents live in another
house. He says, eh~~ok. He opens the door. Hayame is puzzled. Issei says, “Fine
already, you can go.” This surprises Hayame that she asks what’s going on.
Issei says that he really hates women who
love to scheme [/calculating women]. “You don’t have a bit of skill in lying. While
you were carefully considering it, I have already seen through you earlier on.”
Hayame nervously says, “Careful considering
is... your proposal is really too absurd. I’m only thinking of probing you
whether or not you are worth trusting, that’s all!”
Issei says eh, is that so. “Are you a
person who cannot do anything if you don’t trust someone?” Hayame protests, “...isn’t
that inevitable? Since it has something to do with money, all the more...” Issei
asks, “Then let me ask you, what is your measure for trust?”
Hayame says, measure...something like a
contract-type... Letting out a laugh, Issei says that she’ll unexpectedly talk
about a contract... “You’ll unexpectedly say contract even if you handed over a
marriage registration form, that kind of contract, and yet, you are still
betrayed?”
Surprised Hayame timidly says about that...that
isn’t the same... Issei says like hell it isn’t the same. “You have already
tasted it once yet you still won’t change even if you die. Are you stupid?
‘Trust’ ‘Contract’-whatever cannot be used as a guarantee so it is also totally
meaningless!
...Betrayed by people is simply something
that happens in a moment. Look, if it is you, you have also thought that,
right? *Hayame looks at him* Forget it. I also won’t force you. *heads out of
the room* You just steadily, part by part, earn money and live a life of destitute
and frustration, okay? *waves* Bye bye.”
Hayame wonders, “Why did it become like
this. Where did it go wrong? *recalls Masahiro’s smiling face* Wrong.
‘Something go wrong’-whatever, it isn’t at all that kind of situation. It is
like what this guy said. Trust, contract, whether there is one or not, it’s the
same, right?”
She closes her eyes from seeing smiling
Masahiro. Then, she walks towards Issei. Issei notices this and looks
surprised. He is startled when she grabs the corner of his shirt.
And, she pulls him inside and closes the
door. He shouts, “Bastard... what are you doing, that’s really dangerous...”
Looking straight at him, Hayame says that she’ll play with him.
“It’s a 3 million hanging scroll, right?
What you said is real, right? Even if it always feels that I’m being cleverly
deceived by you as if you’re a criminal gangster.”
Issei looks nervous as Hayame approaches
and towers over him. She continues, “Right now, if I were to run away then it
would seems like I have lost to you. I abso-lutely do not want that kind of
thing to happen... *facing him while pointing at him* 3 million, I’ll pay it
all back in full!!”
After looking surprised, Issei smiles and
says that he knew that she’ll say that. Hayame thinks that right now, she can
only believe the things that are in front of her.
She looks at him and holds the pencil.
“Then, I’ll start!” Issei tells her to go. And, she tosses the pencil. “3
million, I’ll definitely settle it all immediately!!”
Comment: Yup, it’s the cliché, girl owes guy a huge amount of money so she
is forced to do his bidding and well, stay with him. In this case, it does seem
that he is quite bored and just want to have someone to play with. Living alone
with a driver while his parents live elsewhere is already a flag that is the
case here.
Perhaps, he is somewhat interested in her
because of her attitude and her situation. He seems to have experienced some
sort of betrayal himself based on what he told her. And yup, a contract or
anything is no guarantee for trust.
Of course, it is understandable for Hayame
to be wary especially if it involves money. After all, her father got them in a
huge debt. She doesn’t want to end up like him but then, in this situation,
playing with him is indeed the better option.
Well, apart from not wanting to work
throughout her life to pay that huge amount of money which take a very long time,
I guess it is part of her nature not to easily want to lose to someone
especially to someone who has that kind of arrogant attitude. Scans by 离境汉化组
