The chapter starts where it ends in the last chapter. Kanae sees Ren and Yashiro looking distressed. This scene is simply a rare sight that one can receive [/want to buy] a ticket [to see it?]. This morning, Kanae also saw the replay of Saena on that lawyer program. She always suspects that Ren is eyeing Kyouko but she cannot be certain of it. In her mind, she guesses that these two are distressed about something related to Kyouko. Kanae always stare at the two especially Ren when Hiou suddenly came to call Kanae away. Hiou thinks back that Kanae is staring Ren to death. He gloomily and recklessly guessed that Kanae likes that kind of mature, handsome tall type of guy. He thought that when he grows up, at best, his face will become handsome but he cannot do anything about the height. He suddenly starts to imagine Ren’s body is the legs of a man, a 3 meter high monster. Ren called Kyouko on the phone but there is no answer. Kyouko didn’t set up a voice mail on her phone. So, Ren just sent a text [sms] message. Yashiro teases him by saying that Ren is quite stubborn for he hates ‘writing’ as a way to communicate. So why would he suddenly compromise. In the end, Ren calmly answered that actually, he didn’t look like he’s stubborn at all.
Back to Saena’s story, because she always mistaken her mental and physical bearing as caused by failure at work that it caused her to have insomnia and have no appetite. [<- the term used is anorexia] she is pregnant for about five months when she realizes that Kyouko exists. It is already far from the law allowed period wherein one can have an abortion. The longer the delay, the more there are no hospitals would carry out the abortion. [Zozo, a reader here had mentioned this scenario in the comments in the last chapter. This is what I had googled about it before: The Maternal Protection Act in Japan allows abortion for patients if the fetus is 21 weeks & 6 days or younger. If a fetus is 22 weeks or older, due to higher risks to the mother during surgery and ethical issues, abortion is not an option and must be carried to term. The procedure should be performed by doctors certified by this law at a designated facility.] Saena is hesitant to drag it until the deadline [/full term?] but due to her lawyer’s honor, she wasn’t willing to disobey the law so she can only give birth.
Saena looks upon Kyouko as her ‘weak and brain made stupid by love’ clone from her body. This is a distinct boundary[?] between her past self. Saena left the office by phone and Toudou [formerly Fujimichi] told Kyouko about it. [<- not sure if Saena called it by phone or Toudou informed Kyouko about it by phone] Actually, during Saena’s pregnancy, the thing about the information leak involving the boss and the client has already spread in the office. Saena basically cannot continue to stay there. Ken specially prepared a way out for Saena as well as a new job. He said that it is okay if she considers it as an atonement or a debt of gratitude to be repaid. He told her to leave Kyouko behind and properly continue doing her best and work at a new office. Kyouko felt that she must go thank Ken face to face. Then, Kyouko overhears a bit of conversation between her mother and Toudou. She had found her own tongue-twister conclusion. [<- literal translation ^^; Maybe a conclusion to her knotted issue]. For 17 years, she always constantly did her best to attain her mother’s love and praise but-- Kyouko finally decided to abandon this ‘regarding being able to attaining the love of someone, she would no longer have extravagant hope’ way of thinking. [<- translator later mentioned that she might be mistaken here and it refers more on her and her mother; hopefully not related to Ren] Also, Kyouko assesses that the past with Shou and this Shou person, for her, they are of the same existence as snot. And, the next chapter will be out on Feb 20th in Japan.
Comment: So, Kyouko is moving on from the two who had caused her so many heartaches in the past. Things can either focus more on her career again or her love life with Ren. Hm..and I thought Saena looked upon Kyouko as a copy of Misonoi but it turns out to be her former self. I guess that is how it should be since she doesn’t hate Misonoi for what he did. ^^; Anyway, that’s the rough idea on what happened in this chapter.
