Hibi Chouchou [Chapter 63]

At the karate dojo, someone calls out for everyone to line up. Kawasumi wonders if Suiren is okay while talking with Atohira. He tells himself that she ought to be alright and besides, she told him that it isn’t one on one. After everyone shouts, ‘otsukaresama’[/good job], Ryousuke turns to Kawasumi and he’s gone. Kawasumi arrives at the café and sees Yuri about to welcome him. Yuri tells surprised Kawasumi that Suiren left earlier. Kawasumi thanks her and left. Yuri happily wonders if he is worried. After arriving home and going to his bedroom, Kawasumi calls up Suiren. He wonders if he won’t disturb her since it is about 8 o’clock already. Suiren answers her phone. After greeting her, he asks if she is okay. She says that in the end, she still likes his..voice. This puzzles Kawasumi. She tells him that it makes her feel very calm. This made the two blush. Suiren assures him that she is alright. Kawasumi says okay, it is great if that is how it is.

After hanging up, Kawasumi is thinking of Atohira. In bed, Suiren is thinking about there is no need to give a hi-five and unexpectedly, there is someone who is very similar with her. The next day, Aya didn’t ask about that thing yesterday. While walking at the school’s corridor, Aya is busy looking at a book. She tells Suiren that next time, [they’ll] make a more difficult bread. Suiren nods. Upon reaching her section, Aya apologizes and says that that it is nothing, see you. [<- about being overprotective?] Suiren opens the door and hears her classmates busy talking with each other. Kawasumi appears behind her and greets her a good morning. They look at the furious fanboys. Suiren greets Kawasumi a good morning, too. She recalls Atohira suggesting that she greets everyone. She seems to recall some boys holding a crayfish as she looks at her male classmates. Everyone including Kawasumi notices that Suiren is looking at those guys. Suiren stutters as she also greets everyone a good morning. Then, she bows. There is silence.

Embarrassed Suiren quickly goes to her seat and sits down. Meguna greets her back a good morning. The puzzled fanboys wonder whom Suiren is greeting a while ago, is it everyone, is it them, she... At the roof, Meguna tells her friends that Suiren greet good morning to the whole class that it surprised her. While Aya just slurps her drink, Yuri asks Suiren what’s up. They hear a knock. It is Kawasumi who came to see Suiren. By the door inside the building, Kawasumi says that in the end, something happened yesterday. Recalling Atohira, Suiren nods. She tells him that it isn’t..only..only she herself..is very hurt. [<- having a difficult time because of her being like that?] Kawasumi didn’t reply. She asks him if he’s worried. After a pause, he looks at her and says that he is worried all the time. They blush. Suiren goes closer to him. They blush really red. They held hands and swing their hands around. Then, Kawasumi kisses her on the cheek. Suiren is stunned as Kawasumi starts to go downstairs. After he is gone, Suiren blushes and touches her face where he kissed her.

That night, Atohira arrives at Kawasumi’s room. Kawasumi is busy studying at his desk. Atohira lies down on the bed and starts reading a manga. He glances at Kawasumi and tosses the manga at the side. He sits up and asks Kawasumi if he isn’t going to ask. Kawasumi replies that there is nothing to ask for if there is something he wanted to know, he’ll go ask Shibazeki-chan. Frowning Atohira looks at Kawasumi then at the side. He says that Kawasumi still calls her ‘Shibazeki’ huh. Kawasumi stares at Atohira and asks what he is angry about. Atohira says that he isn’t angry at all. He lies down again before heading out of Kawasumi’s room. He recalls Suiren holding up both hands for the hi-five. He turns around and goes to Hajime’s room [formerly Ichi, Kawasumi’s older brother, as mentioned by Azaria]. He glances at Hajime then lies down on the bed. He thinks of Suiren again. He is surprised when Hajime asks what he is angry about. Atohira denies that he is angry.

Comment: Well, we got a kiss...on the cheek. Appetizer? The teaser was in the last two chapters about it probably happening on their anniversary. Kawasumi seems to overly worry about Suiren. I’m not sure if it is okay for Suiren not to mention to Kawasumi all of the details of what happened like the hi-five thing or what they talked about. If he did, is that like a controlling/demanding boyfriend, who wants to know EVERYTHING? He seems to trust her enough and she doesn’t feel that she has to tell him all of it. But then again, she isn’t really the talkative type. Hehe, I’m just hoping that it won’t be the start of some misunderstanding. Anyway, it seems that they are going to continue greeting each other in class. Maybe later on, Suiren would continue greeting the whole class and keep on making the fanboys wondering who she is greeting. ^^;; Maybe they’ll accept the two’s relationship since after all, she now gives them a bit of attention.

Lastly, by the two brothers, it is somewhat confirmed that Atohira is angry or at least, agitated about something. I got two guesses about it and it could be either or both. One, he is angry and jealous that Kawasumi got the girl whom he recently got interested in. Two, he is seeking Kawasumi’s attention. ^^; From this chapter, he seems to want Kawasumi to ask him about what happened and interact with him rather than ignore him. He even tried to irritate Kawasumi that he still calls Suiren by her surname. Instead, Kawasumi asks what he is angry about. Also, in the earlier chapters when he thinks of Kawasumi before and while talking with Suiren, it makes me think that he probably plans to use Suiren as a way to get Kawasumi’s attention. I’m not sure if he is displeased with Kawasumi having a girlfriend because it doesn’t make Kawasumi focus on karate which is directly related to him. So, he wants Kawasumi to keep on thinking of him as some ‘idol karate’ guy? Hehe, maybe I’m just thinking too much. ^^;; Scans by all★wink汉化组
