Hibi Chouchou [Chapter 61]

This morning, Suiren thought of her former self who doesn’t like to talk nor smile. While Suiren and Aya are walking through the school’s hallway, everyone is muttering about not seeing Suiren for a long time and she is still cute. Yuri joins them and greets them a good morning. Yuri comments about the vacation being short but Aya disagrees with her. While the two are talking about the alarm clock not ringing, Suiren muses that summer vacation passed by quickly, also how fast the first term, and the first year’s second and third term passed by. [<- seems to be referring to the time when she is dating Kawasumi since last summer.] Suiren waves goodbye to her friends and goes into her classroom. With Kawasumi sitting behind her, Suiren takes her seat. She thinks that there is only a half of high school life left. That was an endless day and finally, it felt that time is finally moving again. She once didn’t know that people, things or feelings can change with the passing of time. She starts to wonder if it is better for them not to talk in the classroom, and who is it for..

Suiren recalls her former self. She thinks that thinking about it, the her at that time, isn’t she running away all over the place and spoiled. Then, to the shock of the fanboys, Kawata asks Kawasumi if he went with Suiren to the festival. Meguna perks up upon hearing the others muttering about those two still going steady. Just when Suiren is saying Kawasumi’s name, Kawasumi calls out to Suiren and greets her a good morning. Thinking that their ideas mutually collided, Suiren greets him back. Kawata grabs Kawasumi’s collar and shakes him for ignoring him. The fanboys are muttering if Kawasumi is an idiot for suddenly saying good morning, why would Suiren go steady with him when they have more courage. Meguna laughs and says that they are still very energetic. The fanboys are wondering if those two are serious [with each other] when Meguna tells them that it has nothing to do with them. It seems that reality has started to sink in when the fanboys are aghast in shock over it – nothing to do with them and what she liked about Kawasumi. ^^; Meguna tells Suiren that there’s no need for her to mind the people around. Suiren thinks that she can do that but isn’t it like running away.

At the roof, Yuri is in a happy mood while holding her cellphone. Aya tells Yuri that she’s smiling too much. Yuri is shock about this. Meguna asks if something good happened. Yuri turns away and says that if she can say a sentence, it would be the world is really beautiful. Aya asks if she’s getting along with Daisuke. Yuri is shock that she mentioned the name and clarifies that they are not going steady. She admits that she is getting along with Daisuke and the feeling right now is very happy. Meguna tells her that it will also be very happy when they go steady. This made Yuri blush and gushes over this. Expressionless Aya says that’s great. Yuri is aghast that she said it inattentively. Aya says no, if Yuri’s happy then she’s happy. Unconvinced, it made Yuri say that she’ll introduce a good person to him. Aya angrily says that there’s no need. Yuri asks why. Aya tells her that guys-whatever are very annoying [/troublesome]. The others are surprise by this. While Aya is waiting outside the girls’ toilet, the others are washing their hands inside. Yuri says that there’s no need for Aya to say that quite unconditionally [/absolute]. Suiren says that she thinks that she also has to be blamed for it because from the start since elementary -> junior high -> high school, the guys were always calling Suiren and Aya would complain that guys are annoying.

Meguna asks if Aya has someone she likes. Yuri is in disbelief and says none, right? Meguna says is that so. Yuri changes the topic by asking if it is okay for people to immediately kiss after going steady. Meguna says ya, if it is like that. Yuri freaks out that Suiren is blushing really red. Yuri asks if she still didn’t. Suiren nods. Yuri says that it is almost a year now and she thought that they had earlier.. Meguna tells Suiren that since it is like that, she’ll give her a suggestion. Then, Yuri comes out of the toilet to apologize for making Aya wait. While walking at the hallway, they see Kawasumi and Ryosuke. Suiren turns away and recalls how Kawasumi said okay when she told him that she wanted a kiss during the Ferris Wheel ride. She felt embarrassed if she were to say it for the second time. She wonders if she wants a kiss and she is a bit afraid. Then, Ryosuke bumps into Aya. Aya glares at Ryosuke who got scared and immediately apologizes. Aya goes tsk that Suiren seems to be bowing in apology. Kawasumi tells Ryosuke to be careful. Aya glances back and sees Mina. Ryosuke quickly goes to Mina. Suiren watches Aya looks at the two then glumly turns around. Kawasumi goes to Aya and asks if she is okay. Aya says that she is already okay.

Aya says that they quickly leave [/Kawasumi to quickly leave] for others are looking. Then, she says that it is good that no one saw it. Suiren thanks her and that she must pay attention to it a bit. Suiren thinks that she didn’t notice for she is always being protected. For someone else, Aya had become strong. This made Suiren think that she must become strong so that this way, everything will get better [/improve]. Aya tells her that before they go to the café, can they go somewhere else first, some newly open bear merchandise store. While going there, Suiren wonders if to become strong, she’ll do karate..though something seems wrong with that. Then, they pass by a karate dojo. Aya walks ahead without Suiren who had stopped in front of the dojo. Suiren makes a fighting pose and thinks that it turns out that there is a karate dojo here. To her surprise, Atohira is already beside her. She quickly puts down her hand. He asks if she is interested in karate. She didn’t answer. He says that it is because Kawasumi is practicing it. Suiren shakes her head. Then, some fangirls are calling out to Atohira to do his best. Atohira casually says okay, okay, thanks. Suiren starts imagining herself doing the same ‘okay, okay, thanks’ to her fanboys.

She feels depressed for he is amazing [in handling the fans]. She thinks that he’s quite strong. Just before Atohira is going to go inside the dojo, Suiren grabs his shirt. Suiren is shock by that so she quickly lets go. While Suiren is nervous over what she is doing, Aya arrive back. Aya and Atohira greet each other. Just when Atohira is saying goodbye, Suiren summons up her courage over her resolution and asks Atohira how she can become strong like him. This surprises Aya. He asks if in the end, she wants to learn karate. Suiren timidly shakes her head. She says one’s heart [/inner being] becoming strong. Atohira says, heart huh, and he doesn’t know mind reading. Aya thinks that he basically couldn’t do it. Atohira says that strong is a good word. He asks if she wants to change. Suiren nods. He tells her then he’ll use language to answer her. Perking up, Suiren says okay. Turning around, he says, go strive hard by yourself. Suiren is aghast by that. Aya comforts her as they turn to leave. Then, Atohira recalls Kawasumi hurrying over to the stadium [I think]. He calls out to the girls and says on Tuesday, can she treat him to some cheesecake at that café.

Comment: Ah, to aspire to be strong. Atohira turns out to be the unconventional idol/master/teacher for it. If for Kawasumi it is for strong in terms of karate/physically, Suiren is to make her emotionally/mentally strong. I wonder what Atohira had in mind or he just want a free cake ^^; Anyway, it would be amusing if Suiren learns karate. Maybe if it happened, it would be Kawasumi’s turn to freak out if she gets hurt or something. And apparently, Suiren doesn’t want to keep on relying on Aya to protect her. I don’t know if Aya would be happy about that or not since she might lose her ‘responsibility’ but then, it will help her move on to other things rather than always have to protect Suiren from the fanboys. Now, it is apparent here that it turned out that Aya likes Ryosuke. No wonder she reacted that way when she learned that Mina was Ryosuke’s girlfriend. For now, it seems that Aya is using the ‘guys are annoying’ as an excuse not to go out with anyone to cover up that unrequited love. I’m now not too sure if Aya would be paired off with anyone soon because of her current emotional state. And apparently Meguna got it right that Aya is/was interested in someone. For the main couple, it is good that they at least greet each other in class. Meguna is doing great in helping out the couple against the fanboys. The kiss is mentioned again so we might get it in this arc with Suiren wanting to become stronger which possibly includes being proactive ^^ Of course, it would be nice if it is the guy but then, if the guy isn’t up to it, it is up to the girl ^^ Scans by all★wink汉化组
