Free Talk: I'm back ^^

Hiyo! We just arrived late afternoon, and then have to endure one hour traffic on the way home. ^^; Everything went smoothly more or less. It was on the latter part of the trip when I started making mistakes. ^^;; Anyway, it turns out that Paris isn’t as bad as the others tell/warn us about. Or maybe, we don’t look ‘rich’ though we did see a few petition girls, and saw a woman behind us got caught in the gold ring scam. Is it because it is off season for them, too? Most of the time, we just ignored them or walk away fast if we spot them. Anyway, I’m too tired from my ‘exercise for the year’ trip to write a summary tonight. I still feel that the floor is moving because of the plane’s turbulence. ^^;; Hopefully tomorrow. ^^

I’ll answer the comments and tags later on. ^^

  4. Ah, welcome back, I missed you ... though it was short. It seemed as if it was yesterday that you went off. Time flies by quickly lol
    Anyway, I hope that you've both enjoyed your time, looking forward to hear more good news about your trip and never mind the summaries, just relax and take your time. Cheers ^^

    P.S. you should really charge some kind of fine on those people who scared you off by telling phantasmagoric rumors about Paris. As a rule in life, we should never let rumors withhold us back or take away the joy and fun of discovery. We should always experience things first-hand and then decide ^^ (because for a minute there, I got the impression that those rumors weren't about Paris but about somewhere else like Bosnia and Herzegovina o.O )

    1. Thanks, RoseFleur ^-^ Indeed..

      Thank you and I did ^^

      Hehe..aside from the ones I've read on the internet, a few are from their experience by people we know. ^^;
      1.) taking out a scarf from bag and wallet disappears with it.
      2.) someone trips..newly wed husband helps the person..bye-bye backpack along with passports and money..so much for honeymoon.
      3.) breaking off tour group, guy takes a cigarette break outside and surrounded by petition girls..bye-bye all valuables.

      Of course, I also think, well, it is pretty much the same with what's happening in my city..and it should be worst here since there are advisories against traveling here by China and Korea. ^^;;

    2. Nope I didn't mean to imply that the same problem happens in China and Korea, the idea hasn't even crossed my mind. The thing is I live amongst a francophone community, I have plenty of acquaintances and colleagues who either have a dual citizenship or love France so much that they go often there. Many of them would just tell you everything they did there from A to Z, however no one mentioned the pick-pocketing issue.That is why I took it with a grain of salt. Perhaps what you are describing are criminal acts perpetrated by some of the Romanian gypsies gangs (Romani in English, Roms in French). According to broadcasted news reports, they had been active in Spain, Rome (Italy) and London, I don't know about Paris, I have to double-check :D In all cases, it doesn't matter, you had fun, you are here safe and sound and that what counts ^^

    3. I see. Unfortunately, most of the people we told about the trip immediately mention the bad parts ^^;

      But true, it is indeed the gypies, RoseFleur. They are frequently mentioned as the main culprits from the stuff I read from other people's experiences. I heard it is supposedly much worse in Rome/Italy. London, probably at some areas, too since lol, I even watched some documentaries to know how they work so that I'll know how to be on guard. Mostly, it seems to distract and steal.

      That's right ^^

      We only stick with street food and fast food in Paris..hotdog, crepe but the tip is, eat it while its hot because it isn't that yummy when cold. The crepe is still crisp by then. But, most food in Paris are yummy even Mcdo. =P I read this from Trip Advisor that you have to eat what the store specializes like if it is crepe..eat the crepe and not the sandwiches. Also, try the app/site Yelp, it has reviews there from other people and it will help you decide where to eat based on where you are staying. It was a tip by a cousin ^^

      For London, we only ate one time at a pub for fish and chips. I was told later on that you shouldn't eat it at a pub but a restaurant that specializes on fish and chips. The food chains are good like Eat, Wasabi, except for McDo and Kentuky..for some reason, it isn't that good.

  11. Yay! Yay! Yay! Welcome back!!! Your post sounds so lively~~ I'm glad you had a great trip. I just came back two days ago from Malibu. When I heard that you went to Paris, I was happy for you. Let me assure you, Paris is definitely not a dangerous place. My papa has been there and he says it should be a pleasant trip for you.

    Anyway, I'm glad you are okay. Please take a lot of rest because long trips can take a toll on you. Oh, don't forget to eat well too. When you feel better, please update us on how you feel. That is the most important thing here. ^^

  16. Hope you enjoyed it enough to come back to England and/or France. Btw, Wasabi's one of my favourite places to eat out at too. If you ask, they'll even tell you how many calories are in each of the dishes/products. Have a good night's rest and take your time to get over the jet lag.

    Take care and God bless.

  17. Hey Kat,
    It's good to have you back! I think i am late in welcoming you back, but what the hell ! °∆°
    Your site and summaries have sort of become a part of me now. I make sure to check them every once in a while. At your return, i just felt an organ had kicked started in my body. As i can see you have already resumed your work. But make sure to not overwork yourself. I was wondering if you have someone to help you summarise all this stuff, but it seems like you carry on all this great deal of work yourself which seems quite tiring and hence, is remarkable. And thus i am taking my time to tell you how awesome you are. Make sure to take trips like these more often to have good health and good life. I have heard a lot about paris and have been wanting to go there for a while now. It seems really quite and peaceful. Hope you had a good time there.
    Keep up with the good work ¶{•.•}¶ alot of people you haven't met are cheering on for you. Keep on summarising to make sure people like me survive [`∆`] ^•^ ... Thank you. I really admire your hardwork and dedication. You rock! [©.©]/
