Kobayashi ga Kawai Sugite Tsurai [Chapter 36]

Narration: “Light as a feather, softly, being carried like a princess at Aoi-kun’s bosom. I had that kind of blissful dream.” At the streets, Aoi is aimlessly running around. He curses over where Mego could be. Meanwhile, Chiharu is leaning down on sleeping Mego. A little while back, Chiharu was sitting on the bed. He clicks his tongue and thinks that right now, Aoi ought to be worried to death. He apologizes to Mego for sending her picture to Aoi since she is a bait who can force Aoi to act for real. “If he thinks that I would lay a hand on his girl, he definitely won’t forgive me. *leans on top of Mego* He’ll hate me through the bone and then, he would fight me as if his life depended on it.” On cue, Mego sneezes on his face. ^^; He angrily thinks that is dirty to death. He says that it would be troublesome if she catches a cold and he’ll have to change her clothes. He pulls up her skirt and sees a Wanmune [Masamune-inspired] wool underpants. Chiharu is stunned. He quietly pulls her skirt back down and decided to pretend that he didn’t see that. Chiharu thinks that this girl is really something since down to her underwear, she is a deadbeat otaku [<- when she dressed up as an otaku] and she would unexpectedly do this psychological warfare up to that extent. “Fundamentally, I don’t have any plans in laying my hand on her but right now, all the more I don’t have any teeny bit interest in that..!!” Mego wakes up and she quickly sits up. She wonders where she is. She says that she has to find her hairclip. To her surprise, it is already on her hair. She couldn’t believe it for it should have been thrown into the river. Chiharu calls her stupid because from the start, he didn’t plan on throwing it into the river, he only pretended to have thrown it in and that’s all. He tells her that it is because she does things without processing her brain that is why she became like a drowned rat. This made Mego scold him for being quite mean for he unexpectedly tricked her. He says that she’s noisy to death and he did give her hairpin back to her so she ought to be grateful. Holding her hairclip, Mego thinks that it didn’t get lost and it is returned to her. Mego tearful cries in relief and mutters that it’s really great..Aoi-kun..! Chiharu looks surprised. He clicks his tongue and turns away.
He says that she obviously didn’t know how to swim yet she jumped into the water and it caused a huge trouble for him. Mego notices that Chiharu’s clothes are also all wet and could it be that he was the one who saved her at that time. To his surprise, Mego thanks him for saving her then. She angrily says that ultimately, everything is all his fault for pulling that trick. Thinking that it seems strange if she thanks him but then he did save her, blushing Mego mutters that in the end, she still thanks him. After looking surprise, Chiharu turns away and says that she is quite busy to be angry at one side and be thankful at the other side. Wondering if she is in Chiharu’s room, she stands up to see that it is already dark from the window. She asks what time is it since she has to call home or else, her mother would definitely be worried. She bumps on the shelf and some things fell down. They are a notebook, ballpen, a photograph of Aoi and Chiharu during Junior high, and medicine pills + tablets spilling from a medicine box. She is puzzled over the medicine and the photograph. Holding the photograph, Mego says that it is Aoi and Chiharu.. Chiharu immediately grab the photograph and tells her not to touch it. She is surprised to see Chiharu looking tense and flustered. While Chiharu turns away again, Mego starts to wonder what’s going on and could it be that those two used to be friends. She recalls how Chiharu gave his all in provoking Aoi that she thought it is because he hated Aoi. But.. She remembers how he reacted by saying that he knows what Aoi is like, and how he didn’t want her to touch the photograph. She asks Chiharu could it be--.. Chiharu grinds his teeth and pushes her down on the bed. While holding her chin, he calls her a stupid girl who is too talkative that it’s annoying. He tells her that he changed his mind, he is going to shut that nonsense talking mouth of hers. “If I use force in taking you for myself, what kind of expression will Sanada have?” He touches Mego’s upper leg that she tells him to stop. Chiharu tells her that Aoi has no way of touching her, right. “You’re truly a pitiful girl. To be love dearly by a man but cannot enjoy happiness. Then, let me give you that experience.” This surprises Mego. Chiharu thinks that she is only a darn girl who can say beautiful words. “Show me how you painfully cry. If you cry and beg for forgiveness, I’ll let go of your hand. Tearfully plead--..”
Chiharu is surprised over Mego’s defiant look. She tells him, “The pitiful person is you, Uesugi-kun. *Chiharu seems to have let her go* You fundamentally don’t like me at all, right. Then, what is the meaning of being physically intimate with a person who don’t like. If it isn’t with the person one sincerely loves, even if the body merged together, all the more it invites loneliness. Isn’t there such a person in your heart? Simply staying at that person’s side, one can feel very warm and it makes one feel that one is a very happy person. Even if I cannot touch that person throughout my life, he is still my most cherished and loved person within my heart. *teary-eyed* Do not easily put a pitiful label on my love!!” Chiharu looks surprised. Still looking defiant, Mego stares at Chiharu and thinks that happiness isn’t at all to be decided by others, but rather, she has the finally say to that[/she’s the one who’ll decide that]. Chiharu grinds his teeth and mutters that she’s annoying to death. He shouts that she’s really boring and quickly scram!! While kicking her out of his apartment, he shouts who would [do anything] to a rare-type girl like her, who’ll wear wool underpants. Putting in some effort, Mego stops Chiharu from closing the door as she angrily shouts that he saw her wool underpants, he’s a lewd wolf and a pervert. Trying to close the door, he angrily shouts for her to shut up and quickly get lost and go home, stupid girl!! Then, he tells her that she must absolutely not tell Aoi whatever she saw in this room. Looking dark, he says that if she told Aoi, he absolutely won’t easily let her off. This surprises Mego that she wonders if he meant the photograph and the medicine. She agrees not to tell Aoi but as a condition, he won’t tell anyone about Aoi’s secret. After looking surprised, Chiharu comments that she wants a deal, and he couldn’t make it out if she’s bad to deal with. She tells him that a Sengoku bushou [military commander] would not simply just fight head on, for they would also do all sorts of negotiations privately in order to defend the important territory. “‘Uesugi’ is an identical name with a very outstanding bushou-sama [<- Uesugi Kenshin] and my name is from ‘Megohime’ that is copied from the name of the wife of some outstanding bushou-sama’s [<- Date Masamune]. Whether you curse me for being despicable, or maybe spurn me and treat me roughly, it doesn’t matter. *turning to leave* As long as I can protect Aoi-kun, it doesn’t matter what method I use, I’ll fight you to the end!!”
With that, Mego leaves. Chiharu chuckles for he thought that she is only a girl who can say beautiful words. “I didn’t think that she would unexpectedly declare that for Sanada, she won’t choose the method. ..very interesting. I accept your challenge. Let me see what resources do you have and how you’ll go and protect Sanada.”  He recalls her telling him not to easily label her love as pitiful and she’ll use whatever method to fight him to protect Aoi. Chiharu blushes and mutters, that is the girl whom Aoi is infatuated with. While running in the streets, Mego looks at her cellphone and sees that Aoi has called her so many times. She wonders what’s up. <- she doesn’t know about the picture Chiharu sent Aoi. Just when she is replying a message, her cellphone went dead. She gloomily wonders where the hell she is and because she is going on a date with Uesugi, she only has 10 yen on her. <- she was plotting to make Chiharu pay for all of the expenses. She quietly thinks that she in an unknown place and in an unknown road. She clenches her fist and stands up. She thinks, “Even if it is like this, I’ll also go back. No matter how lost I am, I’ll also depend on my own strength, and my own feet to go back to Aoi-kun’s side.” Meanwhile, Aoi is still running around and wondering where Mego is. While running, Mego tells her feet to quickly run for being separated for a day, makes her really want to see him again. While she is resting, she notices a public payphone. She is delighted over this because her 10 yen is enough to call up Aoi. She calls him up and they talked. Soon, they are going to meet at a certain place/street where there are many people walking around. Mego tearfully calls out to him and goes to him with her outstretched arms. She trips and falls on Aoi who ends up falling down on the ground. While thinking that it should be a heavenly reunion, Mego quickly sits up and apologizes for having too much momentum for she wanted to hug him as much as she wanted. She is surprised when Aoi holds her and says, “It’s alright. It also doesn’t matter if this causes me to lose consciousness, do not leave me..!! *blushes* It’s really great..that you can safely return to my side.” Hugging him back, Mego says, “Ya. I’m back.” Narration: “No matter if I’m in a very far off distance, no matter how separated we are from each other, I will use all my strength to go back to your side.”
Comment: That’s really nice ^-^ I’m not sure though if Aoi wouldn’t faint and they would be in the hospital in the next chapter. ^^; It is quite nice how Mego is showing her fighting spirit but like Chiharu, I wonder up to what extent can she fulfill her declaration on protecting Aoi using whatever method. In a way, it is good that she made a deal with Chiharu regarding keeping Aoi’s weakness secret from each other though I’m not sure if Aoi would like that the two have secrets between them. ^^; I really wonder if that underpants are all part of Mego’s plan. ^^;; In a way, it seems that Chiharu is both turned on and off by Mego. ^^;; Turned on over her strong words about Aoi and turned off by her otaku-side + being too talkative and nosy. Since Chiharu has some medicine in his place, it suddenly reminds me of that relationship between the guys in Arata Kangatari. Maybe, Aoi doesn’t want to take Chiharu seriously because he has an ailment. Since Aoi is very nice, he doesn’t have the heart to beat up someone who has a health problem. In AK, the lead guy doesn’t have the heart to put his best in a race because his friend has a problem with his leg..iirc, got into an accident. The friend doesn’t want his pity and wanted him to fight without hesitation. And ever since then, friend became a bully and made lead guy’s life hell as friend is obsessed with an ‘all out duel’. Well, that is a very twisted relationship of frenemy. So, maybe that is the same with Aoi and Chiharu? Unless, Aoi doesn’t know he is sick. Then, Aoi probably doesn’t want to fight an ‘ex-friend’. Well, Mego and Aoi have a lot of explaining to each other. For Mego, why she is wearing that wet dress, where she is, etc. I’m not too sure if Chiharu only sent the picture without any other details but probably it is, since Aoi seems to be running around aimlessly. For Aoi, probably tell Mego what’s the real story with Chiharu so that she can be at least more aware or equipped in dealing with Chiharu. Actually, it also depends if Aoi knows that it is all Chiharu’s work as to where Mego has been since if Chiharu didn’t mention who he is when he sent the picture, Mego kind of has to also keep this date a secret from Aoi, right? Then, it will go back to ‘just believe in me’. It seems that Mego knows more about the Sengoku wars history rather than just being a fangirl of Masamune and playing Sengoku games. ^^ And lastly, maybe next time Mego ought to have more money on her..or at least kept it in a secret place, and get her cellphone fully charged before she goes to this kind of escapades. ^^; Scans by 工作室

  2. Oh my! I think this is the start for Chiharu's love for Mego. I wonder what history he had with Aoi but it feels something to deal with the eyepatch Aoi have.

    1. Seems so.

      I think it has to be more than the eyepatch because Aoi already had the eye-patch when they were friends and when Chiharu attacked him - duel during that flashback. I think the eyepatch has something to do more with Shino and their past..probably including that mysterious woman. And well, there is also the shoulder scar. ^^;;

    2. Hm..looking intently at the scene when that shoulder scar was shown..it seems that there are scar marks on his right eye. Maybe it happened at the same time? Since it is both at the same side of his body.

    3. I wonder if the cause of it is a fire. I'm thinking the possibilities where he got that-- if he was abused to the point of even burning his skin or if their former home burned and they barely made it out.

    4. Hm..that is possible. Actually, when I saw the shoulder scar, the first thing in my mind is someone threw hot liquid, probably from a kettle at him..or someone..probably Shino, and he got burned instead after going in between to save her.

  3. using whatever method means in the mangaworld cheating on your partner included (only to protect him) i hate it when the heroines in mangas say they would protect their lovers with whatever methods they should use and so on because the result of this is always the same and that is that the heroine cheats on her lover(like kissing another person oder even going so far as sleeping with him) and that is something that goes on my nerves, well even though i am a guy i still like romance manga and i hope for mitsuru that azusa doesn't think like mego and would even consider something like the sentence i will use whatever method to protect him...
anyway i miss the parts of mitsuru x azusa and i would love to see more developments between them(most likely because of azusa's tsundere personality^^)
(before i start a monolog here)
thanks kat for the summaries like always and maybe i should stop being an anon^^

    1. Interesting..so does the cheating include this case of 'dating to protect him..or rather, get the hairclip back'? Well, when Mego mentioned that, it didn't occur to me that it is about 'going out, kissing, sleeping with the other guy, etc' to protect the guy ^^; I was actually hoping that Mego do other inventive things rather than those typical stuff. Though I agree, it can be irritating to see heroines or male leads doing that and it can be quite messy afterwards. Hm..does being blackmailed to do such things considered cheating?

Hehe, ya, those two can be quite fun ^^

      Thanks for reading ^-^

Hehe..if you don't want to register, etc..just leave a name at the bottom ^-^

  4. Well, I have not seen mangas where the main heroine sleep with another guy to protect her lover.

Anyway, that would not happen in this manga. In the stories of Go Ikeyamada, the main girl usually has her first time with a guy and end up with another guy, but this is because she is in love with the guy (or at least she thinks so).
