Kobayashi ga Kawai Sugite Tsurai [Chapter 29]

While Aoi calls out to Mego on the phone, Uesugi holds Mego’s chin and leans towards her. He darkly asks, “You..know that guy, right..?” Mego is puzzled over who ‘that guy’ he is referring to. Then, Mego notices her sketchbook has a hole in it. Just when Uesugi is telling her to quickly answer him, he is surprised to see Mego in tears. He lets go of her when Mego bawls her eyes out and sob loudly. While some bystanders are looking, Mego tearfully goes to pick up her poor sketchbook. She carries it and tearfully runs off for that is too mean when she did her best in drawing that. Uesugi shouts for her to wait, they haven’t finished talking.. The bird is angrily kicking Uesugi’s head and thinks, ‘Hey, you cannot make a girl cry’. Uesugi complains that it hurts. He threatens the bird not to hinder him or he’ll roast it. Then, he looks down on the floor and sees Mego’s hairclip. He wonders if it is that girl’s..? Still crying, Mego crosses the street and tearfully wonders what’s up with that guy and she thought that he is a good person. Then, she almost got hit by a taxi. Just when Mego is apologizing, Azusa comes out from the taxi and says that it is her. Mego looks surprised. Soon, inside the taxi, Mego timidly apologizes for unexpectedly riding on the same car with her. Azusa tells her that it is nothing and it is because they are on the same way towards her photo shoot. Mego feels quite nervous for she has nothing to talk about with Azusa. Then, Mego notices something dropping from Azusa’s bag. Just when she mentions this to Azusa, Mego sees the pictures and the ‘Azusa’ letter. Azusa quickly snatches them and looks flustered. While Mego is puzzled about it, her cellphone starts ringing. She apologizes to Azusa that she’ll take the call. It is Aoi who is calling. When Mego exclaims Aoi’s name, Aoi asks if she is alright and where she is right now. Embarrassed Mego remembers that their telephone conversation was cut midway. Mego is apologizing to him when she looks out the window to see Aoi running towards the park. Aoi has told her that he is currently on his way to.. Mego suddenly shouts, “Aoi-kun!!” Azusa glances out the window to see Aoi. Azusa tells the driver to stop here for Mego is getting off. Mego thanks Azusa and says that she’ll return the favor. Watching Mego leave, Azusa mutters, “Her boyfriend is Shino’s brother.. *recalls young Aoi holding on to Shino* Truly ironic--..”

At the zebra crossing, Mego calls out to Aoi who looks at the opposite street and sees her. While she’s angry over why the signal light turned red, Mego apologizes for suddenly hanging up the phone. She is puzzled when Aoi suddenly bends down. Blushing really red, Aoi says that’s great. “I thought something happened to you. I’m worried to death..” This made Mego blush. She realizes that he is obviously still at work but because he is worried about her, he ran out to find her. Aoi looks up to see Mego pinching her cheek really hard. Aoi asks her what she’s doing. Mego says that if she doesn’t do this, she couldn’t bear it. “For Aoi-kun to be so worried about me, I’m so happy that I want to smile. But, obviously I’ve troubled you. I’ll reflect on this and apologize to you~~” To her aghast, Aoi says that he’s quite perplexed. This made Mego say that is right, sorry.. Covering his face, blushing Aoi says that she’s really looks so cute, how perplexing.. This made Mego wish for the signal light to quickly turn red. “Quickly, it’s okay even if it is a second earlier. I really want to quickly go to your side.” The light turns green. Mego crosses the street and happily looks at Aoi. She asks him if she can apologize for one other thing. Blushing Aoi asks what it is. Blushing Mego says, “Perhaps, it isn’t fitting for me to say it in this situation but, Aoi-kun really suits wearing a working outfit-♡ It’s so moe, I’m sorry” This made Aoi blush and sweatdrop. Mego mentally thanks Aoi for giving her lots of ‘like[/love]’ day after day. Then, Aoi notices her ruined sketchbook and wonders what happened to it. Mego says that it really infuriates her for just now, she met a male high schooler who suddenly punched her sketchbook and destroyed it. She tells him that it is a red haired guy with sharp eyes.. Aoi looks surprised that Mego asks him what it is. Having an idea who it is, Aoi tells her no..it is nothing. But, he wonders, “Could it be--..” At home, while reading a manga, Mitsuru learns about some strange guy chasing after Mego. Mego tells him that on the way, Azusa had helped her. Mitsuru is surprised by this. Then, Mego recalls Shino’s manuscript. She takes it out her bag and asks Mitsuru to take a look at it. The story is about a deaf girl meeting a sunny girl who is good at kendo. Using hand language, they gradually became good friends.

Mego says that isn’t the main character and the best friend patterned after Shino and Mitsuru. Mitsuru wipes his tears. Mitsuru says that Shino is amazing to unexpectedly have this kind of talent. He thinks that this novel is quite exquisite and moving that is overflowing with a ‘friend’s gratitude and love. “Have I become some warm existence in your memories.” Then, Mego tells Mitsuru that there is something that she is a bit worried about and it is about Azusa. On the second day, it is already dark when Azusa is walking at the street alone. She stops and thinks that someone is following her. There is a guy, wearing a cap with a face mask, lurking behind a post. Azusa continues to walk, and the stalker follows her. Azusa quickly quickens her pace. She wonders if it is the person who sent that letter and that is really disgusting. The stalker reaches out to her but Azusa manages to evade it and grabs the stalker’s hand. She asks, “—could it be that you think that I’m scared? *stalker is surprised* I’m truly very sorry♡ *swings her bag and hits the stalker hard with it* I’m not that kind of pitiful girl. *sneer* Wanting to make me, Tokugawa Azusa, be scared and shrink back-something. You’re still a million years too early!! *after the bag struck him, stalker backs away and bumps the wall behind him hard, so he is in a daze* Tsk. But for you not to be able to get up after getting tricked and struck back, you also don’t have much skill. To stop you from doing that disgusting thing again, I’m going to get the police to take you away.” She takes out her cellphone and notices that her hand is trembling. “My fingers are trembling..? No good. Very not reassuring. Have to persist on. Because I’m the only one *grinds teeth* who can protect myself..” Azusa is startled for the stalker had regained consciousness and is standing behind her. Just when the stalker is about to grab her, Azusa looks back and thinks that this is bad..!! Suddenly, a guy appears and hits his shinai at the stalker who backs away. After being surprised by that, blushing red, Azusa says, “..what, how come you came to save me..Kobayashi Mitsuru!” Mitsuru says, “..I’m just helping Mego. This is her thanks. Owing someone a favor isn’t my nature. You just let me do the protecting.” Sitting on the ground, blushing Azusa heart beat fast as Mitsuru poses to fight off the stalker. Blurb: “Next, Mitsuru and Azusa’s distance gradually becomes closer..!? And then, finally, Aoi and that guy..!?”

Comment: And, take blurbs with a grain of salt =P It turns out that there is no stolen kiss and the mangaka is just teasing us the last time. ^^; Even if I’m not fond of crybabies, I’m happy that Mego cried and made a fuss that she managed to unwittingly get away. =P Hm..it seems that she hasn’t noticed yet that her hairclip is gone. Maybe Uesugi will use that during his confrontation with Aoi. Since Aoi has an idea about it, would he be the one who’ll look for Uesugi or it is still Uesugi who’ll find him? And, because of that running, Mego met with Azusa, her future sis-in-law. =P So, that’s how Mitsuru knew about Azusa’s problem. I wonder what Azusa is referring to as ironic. It seems to be something else than Aoi is the one who successfully got one of the Kobayashi twin..and it failed with Shino. Since the flashback is when the two are young, Azusa and the siblings must know each other since they were kids. I don’t think Aoi has meet with Azusa yet. I guess if they did, we might get some idea as to what exactly is Azusa’s relationship with the siblings. Azusa handled the stalker quite well but too bad, she let down her guard when she thought that guy was knocked out. As expected, Mitsuru is there to help her..well, I’m not sure if Azusa would actually let him save her. As I’ve mentioned before, I would want a teamwork to beat up the stalker =P It seems that there is something about her past or current situation that made Azusa strong and independent.
