Kedamono Kareshi [Chapter 21]

While on top of Himari on her bed, Keita tells stupid Himari up to when she is going to run away. Himari recalls overhearing her mother’s conversation with the neighbor that nothing worrisome would happen between her and Keita. After slightly sitting up, Himari looks away and claims that she isn’t running away. She thinks that even if she wants to runaway, there is also no way of running away. Irked Keita says that just now, she still.. Keita sees her looking somewhat flustered while still looking away from him. Keita says what’s with her. To Himari’s surprise, Keita pushes her down on the bed. Keita says that from the start, she always irritates him and she basically always disappeared from his surroundings on her own. “Then, this time around, you unexpectedly appear again as a sister. I fundamentally wanted to bully you for fun. *bends down to her ear* But gradually, I cannot bring myself to be happy about it. Always saying that Ryou is better than me. Just now, you still won’t honestly admit it. I hate you the most. I obviously hate you..but..I have fallen in love with you. *Himari looks surprised* Maybe..it is possible that from the start, I always like you.” Himari couldn’t believe that Keita unexpectedly likes her all along. Sitting up, slightly blushing Keita asks what she is thinking. Blushing Himari thinks that she also..*recalls mother* but..because they are ‘siblings’. Turning around, Keita says is that so, then it is already enough. Turning to face her again, Keita tells her not to say anymore for even if she won’t admit it, he also can generally guess what she’s thinking. Then, he tells her to quit calling him ‘Keita-kun’ from today on, but instead call him ‘Keita’ except at school. Thinking of Keita’s name, blushing Himari says, “Kei..” She hugs the pillow and shouts that in the end, she couldn’t do it, she couldn’t directly call his name and their parents would definitely think it is very strange. This infuriates Keita but he calms down a bit upon seeing Himari blushing. Making Himari face him, Keita curses and says that it isn’t fair that he’s the only one who said it sincerely. He tells her to also be sincere and tell him that she likes him. “If you won’t say it, I’ll kiss you again.” This surprises Himari.

As Keita bends to kiss her, he tells her to be good and quickly say it. They freeze when Keiko, standing outside her room, asks Himari if she is inside. They become tense for if they are found out by her mother.. Keiko calls out to say that she heard that she and Keita went to the fireworks display together today and isn’t that quite good. She opens the door to see blushing Himari sitting straight [seiza position] on her bed. Keiko asks her why she is suddenly sitting straight on her bed. While her heart is beating fast, Himari tensely tells her that she is in a good mood. This made Keiko suspicious that she asks if she quarreled with Keita again. Himari assures her that they didn’t. Keiko says that’s good and she is only going to ask if she ate something at the vendor stalls. Himari says that yes, she ate before coming home. Keiko tells her to take a bath early then. After she left, Himari falls down on her bed for her heart is beating really fast. She sits up and looks at the balcony door. Touching her lips, she thinks that she had lied to her mother. In his room, Keita thinks that was quite dangerous and worrisome but he finally confessed. Soon, it is 2:20 am and Himari couldn’t sleep. Recalling over what happened with Keita, she felt that she did something bad and on the other side of the wall, is Keita.. The next day[?], Himari peeks out the room. She is relieved that Keita isn’t around for if they don’t go to school, they will bump into each other at home. Passing by the corridor, Keita asks what’s up, is she checking the surroundings. While he yawns, blushing Himari retreats to her room and greets him a good morning, he wakes up so early. This made Keita smile. Sticking out his tongue at her, Keita says that she’s finally aware of his existence, really late and serves her right. This shocks Himari and she thinks that no matter what, she won’t let their parents know about this. At the dining table, the parents greet them a good morning and they came at the right time. They propose that they all go to a family trip next week.

Comment: Surprisingly, Keita confessed and that would most probably change how Himari thinks/treats him from here on. Well, most probably keep on hiding it from everyone and irritates Keita more. ^^; Even if it is obvious, Himari chose to not say it. I guess the succeeding chapters would be on making her say it. So, while doing that, they would still have to do their best to keep it all a secret. Until when? And, what would be their parents’ reaction? Keita might be okay with it whatever the reaction is, except for Himari who doesn’t want to cause any problem to her mother. Scans by all★wink汉化组
