The One [Chapter 106]

Cover page: “Officially entering the final arc!” An Bai brings Angus to his house. She tells him that this is his flat which he didn’t return to for a long time. Angus says that it is quite high class and it seems that he is doing well in the modeling world. Then Angus exclaims what’s up with this room. An Bai tells him that it is his bedroom. Angus exclaims in shock for it is all in black. An Bai explains that is how he wanted the designer to do it. Angus exclaims why there are mirrors on the wall, is he some sort of narcissist. Sweatdropping An Bai tells him that he is in way that there’s no other person who can be called number one to him. Suddenly, Angus doesn’t feel well that he tells An Bai that he doesn’t want to stay there. He asks An Bai to bring him out. At the hospital, Young tells Eros that it is only an accident and he doesn’t blame Angus for it so there’s no need for Eros to mind him too much for it is already great that he’s still alive. Actually, Young already felt quite happy and he’ll never forget that Angus cried for him. When Angus tearfully called his name, Young felt that for a moment he had opened up his heart. For the first time in this world, there is someone who didn’t asked something in return to love him and perhaps, he cannot be the last person who can warm up Angus’ heart but he believes that he had already knock open a part of the iceberg. Young is also at ease that even if there is no him in Angus’ future memories because he believes that Angus already has the ability to become happy. While An Bai walks with Angus, some women recognize him and ask for his autograph. An Bai has forgotten to make him wear sunglasses before going out. But, Angus gamely signs the autographs. Later on, An Bai brings out three bound books regarding Angus’ modeling history since he wanted to know more about it. It contains all the data that An Bai collected. She shows him his first advertisement poster at the beach. She tells him that the original model wasn’t him for he is just having a beach vacation but the photographer thinks that he is a natural so took some shots of him. The top honchos of the magazine saw it that they took out the original model and used Angus’ pictures instead and that poster became his debut. She heard that the magazine sales were a success and for a month, the streets of New York are filled with his face. Angus is quite happy over that kind of debut and no wonder that him had a lot of mirrors in his room and is a narcissist.

Then, An Bai tells him more about his modeling work with Charis Darvin, going on stage with a puppy and at age 18, he is unrivalled as a popular model. Then, Eros also comes in and out back stage that the media learns that they are twins. Angus sees a picture of him and his brother with Young at the back. Angus asks if he knows this person. An Bai becomes tense for Eros had asked her not to mention about the car accident with Young since he doesn’t want him to remember the accident and things prior to the accident. An Bai tells him that is Young who works backstage and they always work together so he is familiar to him. She asks what about it. Angus says that it is nothing but he doesn’t know why but seeing his face, his heart feels warm. She asks if he recalls something. Angus says no. He closes the book and says that her data collection is quite complete but then, she is his assistant for only 2-3 years. This made An Bai blush. While looking away, she admits to him that she has been collecting things about him since his first debut and actually she is always his fan. Looking at him, flustered An Bai tells him not to misunderstand for even Eros and Leo can help witness that she doesn’t have a bad idea [ask something in return, I presume] about him that is why she’s helping him so don’t ever have a distorted way of thinking [about it]. Angus goes near her and hugs her tight. He tells her that she’s so cute and even if he doesn’t remember his past but he believes that she is the most professional assistant. He thanks her for always taking care of him at the hospital and when he woke up in a daze, she’s is the first one he saw and he thought that she’s an angel. He says that he’s getting used to her accompanying him and he’s becoming more dependent on him so if it is okay, please stay forever at his side. Pouting his lips for a kiss, Angus says that he wants to impart to her a skill that is more than [/beyond being] professional. Snapping out of it, An Bai whacks him and exclaims that he is still the same even if he lost his memories for isn’t he supposed to be 12 years old now. Angus comments that he also didn’t know why he just said that. At night, Angus wakes up. He looks at the mirror and calls out to Eros, asking if he is there, and come to his side. He tells the mirror not to leave him alone so come to him. Then, a hand reaches out the mirror and strangles him. His father appears and tells him to come to his side. Angus wakes up from his dream by Eros who tells him that he’s having a nightmare. Angus tells his brother that he hates these mirrors for it gives him nightmares. Eros says that he’ll immediately get them removed.

Angus asks where their mother is since in the hospital, he told him that she went on a trip but he cannot deceive him. Angus tearfully asks where she is. This made Eros admit that their mother is no longer here since she died when they were 15 years old. Later on, Eros tells Taylor that even if he lost his memories, Angus is quite sharp for even if he didn’t ask how their mother died, it seems like he already knows the answer is something he cannot accept. Eros is glad over this since at least, he doesn’t have to lie again to pacify him. Taylor asks if he asked about the duke. Eros says no for he told Angus that they always lived with their mother. Taylor asks him what he plans to do afterwards. Eros wants to bring Angus to the ranch and live there for a while because this surrounding and the people around here have ties to Angus’ past. Ever since they’ve come home from the hospital, Angus has nightmares almost everyday that he [Eros] wants to get him far away from everything. Taylor tells him that ranch is Eros’ house so he can come back whenever he wants and that place is very suitable for Angus to recuperate. Eros thanks him and also asks him to keep it a secret from everyone including Leo. Taylor asks what about Lele and when does he plan on getting her back. Eros says that he doesn’t know how much time is needed regarding Angus and perhaps, he couldn’t promise a time limit on when to go to her. Taylor tries to protest but Eros tells him that if she is destined for him, then no matter how long, he believes that she’ll definitely wait for him. At the park, Angus is carrying a bag of oranges when he bumps into someone. He apologizes and the man tells him that it is alright. While Ulysses helps pick the oranges up, Angus continues to apologizes. Then, he somewhat recognizes Ulysses that he asks if they have seen each other before. Ulysses shakes his head and says no. Patting away the dirt on his clothes, Ulysses stands up and says that if he has seen him before, then he definitely won’t forget him, handsome guy. While his son is waiting for him, Ulysses tells him to be careful on his way later on. Angus looks surprises as Ulysses continues to walk away with his son. Next chapter will be out in Taiwan on November 5th. Blurb for the next chapter: “Eros along with Angus started a life in the ranch. The Taylor couple gave their all out to take care of Angus for him to feel the warmth of a family but the past memories start to emerge..”

Comment: There’s a lot of stuff to talk about there. First of all, I want to share with you guys a comment from someone in baidu who asked if instead of Lele, Angus is the lead character. Well, obviously, Angus has taken over this part of the series and for those waiting for more Lele x Eros scenes, it isn’t quite assuring that the series is ending and we are still about dealing with Angus. ^^; Eros is still dealing with Angus’ problem on his own. Maybe he feels that he can do it based on what he believes is for the best or he doesn’t trust any professional help since that failed in curing his mother. And, as the relative of Angus – family knows best, everyone is respecting his wishes to try ‘sever everyone and everything from his past’. I think they slightly went against that since it is allowed to reveal to Angus that he used to be a model but then, being a popular model, it isn’t really something they can hide while they are in New York. In a way, Eros’ approach to Angus’ problem seems to be wrong for it is like what Angus was doing ‘running away from it’ instead of ‘facing it’. So, it doesn’t quite surprise me based on the blurb that there doesn’t seem to be much progress with Angus’ recovery since they aren’t dealing with what happened but ‘going about it in circles’ with hopes that the love and care can make it all go away..instead of how sex, drugs, alcohol or even attempted suicide was doing it for Angus before. Maybe Eros thinks that what had somewhat worked for him would work for Angus. But then, he is probably cautious for he doesn’t want another Angus’ ‘cannot handle the truth’ episode. In a way, like some horror-psychological story, it seems creepy for Angus to meet people who he seems to know but claim not to know or do not really know well, feeling things without reason like not feeling good in that room, and the only person he loves/depends on is lying to him with his notion that it is for the best. With Angus’ fragile mentality, won’t it might drive him further to the edge or at least be a bit paranoid about everything? Since his past through dreams is haunting him, I think Angus will come to remember everything soon enough. And, I wonder if that would hurt him more since everyone was lying to him about what really happened. Would he understand that it is done to protect him from his past? About the mirrors, I wonder if aside from being a narcissist, Angus would always talk with them as ‘Eros’. ^^;

And for the other debatable part, was it okay for Eros to ‘sever all communication’ from Lele and making her wait with totally no clue over what’s going on with him? That is, of course, depends on the person if one loves the person enough since this is ‘the one’ for you so no matter how long is the wait and even without any communication at all. It would have been easier if he at least tell her not to wait for him and do as she pleases then if they are meant to be, they will be. But prior to their separation, it wasn’t like that for he even made a slight joke-threat that he won’t allow her to have any other guy besides him. And, this is Lele, we’re talking about, not some timid martyr type of girl who’ll just keep on waiting without any promise or anything to hold on to. In this modern world, not communicating at all and having common friends, it isn’t exactly reasonable to keep one’s lover in the dark for a total of three years or more if they are still a couple or not. Eros is leaving things up to fate. It seems worse than a long distance relationship. I start to wonder if what he’s doing with Lele is also the same with how Feidna treated Eros. Eros puts a low priority on the lover and crosses his fingers with hopes that after he deals with Angus or in Feidna’s case have all the fun she have, the ever faithful loyal lover will be there when they come back for them. Somehow, I imagine that Lele’s aunt is also putting a bit of pressure on her. Something like, how long are you going to wait for this guy who doesn’t even care enough for you to tell you what’s going on with him, should you keep on waiting for nothing and for who knows when..10-20 years and you’re a girl so you got more to lose while waiting, you’re not getting any younger, too. Think about yourself too and your happiness which that guy might not be able to give you for who knows if when his problem with his twin will be resolved, or will it be resolved. Maybe he already has a lover and you are stupid enough to keep on waiting for nothing. And, probably Lele finally got fed up waiting because of her personality among other things. But then, if she learns that there has been no improvement with Angus since then, what now? Well, she has to find him first. Before I forget, Young deserves an award for being very loving and understanding after everything that has happened to him. This guy also deserves a happy ending.
