The One [Chapter 105]

Crying Lele says that she thought that it is good for Angus to know the truth but she didn’t know that his mind is already fragile that it would collapse on a single blow. There is a scene of Eros standing by the rain as Angus cried on their mother’s tomb asking if he was the one who forced her into the edge of self-destruction. Lele tells flustered Young if she didn’t mention it and let Eros kept it all a secret, this everything wouldn’t have happened. She wonders if Eros also blames her for it that these past three years, he didn’t sent any news to her. Three years ago in New York, Angus is running in the rain. He recalled asking Eros what he is hiding from him and what was that Lele referring to that he must face. Eros admitted to him that their mother went crazy and died. She forgot about herself and him [Eros] for she couldn’t handle the pain being betrayed by the person she loves and losing Angus. Taylor had also told him that what Eros experienced won’t lose to Angus for when he found Eros, he was drugged to the point where he is longer like a person anymore. Angus screamed and hit the ground with his fist. He cried and thought that Eros would definitely not forgive him for he had always thought of him but he only stripped Eros off his happiness. He is a thoroughly rotten person. No one would love him again, and he doesn’t have any place to go. Soon, he is drinking in bars. A glasses guy tried to tell him that he’s drinking too much but Angus shouted for him to go away. He wobbly walked into the dance floor and Young noticed him. A guy with friends called out to Angus and asked how about relaxing with them. He told him that he got some good stuff. Young nervously followed them. Soon, in a room, the guy was making a move on Angus while the others are going high on drugs. Young banged the door and shouted that the police had arrived. Leaving Angus, the guys quickly headed out of the room. Young called out to Angus who called Young being meddlesome. Young tried to stop him from going somewhere when he is really drunk and he cannot just let him be when he’s like that. Angus shouted if he wanted to be defiled by him. Young shouted that it doesn’t matter what he says, he won’t let him go. Angus told him that he’ll regret that. Soon, Angus is driving the car really fast. Sitting beside him, Young thought that he is quite close to Angus tonight so he won’t regret it. When Angus is at his loneliest and most desperate, he let him be at his side. Young touched his arm and said that he’ll go together with him wherever he goes. Angus recalled when Young said that he can die for him. Angus thought that this guy is crazy. And a truck is moving fast at the other side of the road. [If I’m not mistaken] Angus drives the car straight for the truck. Upon impact, the car flies off. Young is halfway off the side window.

Bloodied Angus woke up at his seat. He started saying no, no..and pulled Young off the window. Young was bloodied and unconscious. While the ambulance arrived, Young thought that Angus thought he had died and he wanted to open his eyes to tell him he is alright. Before Young fainted, he felt Angus tears on him and he was crying for him. At the hospital, while Eros and Taylor watch by, Leo asked what happened to Angus when it is already a week. The doctor had already said that his life is stable so how come he won’t wake up when Young who got more serious injury is already awake. An Bai arrived and asked if she can help. *sparkles and flowers* [An Bai is Angus’ assistant/manager when Angus is still a famous model] Afterwards, An Bai became Angus’ personal nurse. After another week had passed, Angus woke up and sees An Bai sleeping on the side of his bed. He touches her hair and says, “Angel..” Everyone is delighted that Angus is awake. After a high-five between Taylor and Leo, An Bai nervously told them that Angus doesn’t remember a lot of things and he might not know them. When Eros came to visit Angus, Angus said that he looked like his brother. Eros said that he is Yin. Angus screamed that he’s lying for how come his brother became stinkin’ old. The doctor said that it is posttraumatic stress disorder. After explaining the disorder and its symptoms to them, the doctor thinks that it might take 6 months or more to recover and suggests that Angus be moved to a mental health facility. At the park, Eros thanks Ulysses for his help that saved Angus life. [the Chinese word used can either mean ‘transfuse blood’ or ‘give aid and support’ but basically, he helped.] Ulysses says that it is nothing for the police called Wheeler who is listed in Young’s phone so he and his son immediately rushed there. At that time, Angus doesn’t brought anything with him. Ulysses asks what had happened and how come he is with Young. Eros says that doesn’t matter for Angus had forgotten about everything and he only remembered the things before he was 12 years old which doesn’t have any painful memories. Ulysses asks when he can see Angus. Eros apologizes for he hopes that he never ever sees Angus again for he doesn’t want Angus to see anyone who can bring back his bad memories. There is a scene of Angus in the wheelchair and happily gives some flowers to An Bai. Eros says that right now, Angus is very happy that everything has reverted to its pure state. He wanted Angus to use this opportunity to start anew. Ulysses is surprised by this. Next chapter will be out on Oct 5th in Taiwan. Blurb for the next chapter: “Amnesia Angus is still disturbed by nightmares. Eros decided to bring him to a faraway place from any familiar people and things in order for him to steadily recuperate.”

Comment: And, in a way, Angus got his wish to be alone with Eros and ‘mama’ An Bai. =P There are a lot of lessons here like: do not leave a depressed person alone, be more forceful in stopping that person who is self-destructing because it will hurt/be much worst later on, and do not drink then drive especially when suicidal and with someone who’ll end up more injured than one bargained for and the suicidal person will just sink in deeper depression. There are also a lot of ironies here. Angus is really in bad state to think no one loves him when here, the people loves him showed that they do but he doesn’t know, unaware or in denial that it is true. The one who got called was Wheeler who was Angus’ model rival before. What Eros is doing is pretty much like what Fei Hong did in protecting Lele. So, Eros wants to cut everyone out from Angus’ life before he was 12 years old and that includes Lele. I’m not sure if it is temporary or permanent..seems temporary but Eros wanted it permanent memory loss, but in a way, it is like what Angus wanted = running away from reality instead of accepting it and moving on. Of course, it doesn’t help that Angus seems to have inherited his mother’s ‘weak will’ and they cannot easily accept the awful things that had happened to them. After three years, it seems that his condition didn’t improve or probably, Eros is going to permanently remove everyone they knew before, except for An Bai. I guess for Eros, this is like round 2 of dealing with a mentally ill family member though he has An Bai to help him this time around. So, without any news, should Lele keep on blindly waiting? And, this is probably Lele’s purpose for coming to New York – to know if she is still waiting for something or not. I also wonder if this incident happened – prolonging Angus from accepting reality and moving on; for the couple to be together - so that we could at least see how Andre looks like afterwards. ^^; Scans by Icy_Chrisy for baidu
