Reimei no Arcana [Chapter 52]

Nakaba and others are shocked to learn of Loki’s demise. Lito informs Nakaba that it is due to excessive use of his power. Nakaba is in denial that she shouted at Lito not to tell this kind of lie. She kept on shouting, ‘no’ and her Arcana activates. She quickly passes out. She finds herself within the Arcana. She runs around the hallway of doors looking for Loki and ends up tripping. Then, a door which used to be locked has opened. She ‘sees’ her village. A man arrives and calls out to Stasha that he’s home. Carrying some folded clothes, Stasha welcomes her beloved. The man reprimands her to be careful since she’s pregnant, and she should rest. Stasha tells him that it is alright since it is just a bit of exercise. Stasha helps him remove his hood. Nakaba ‘sees’ that the man has red hair, so she assumed that the man is her father. To her surprise, the man is actually an Ajin. As Stasha kisses her husband, Nakaba realizes that she is a mixed blood between a human and an Ajin. Then, a child calls out to his mother and asks if father has come home. The Ajin calls out to Loki who calls him father. The Ajin tells Loki to be glad for he’ll have a younger sister soon. Stasha tells them that it might be a younger brother. The Ajin says that it has already been decided that the second child is a girl. When the red haired baby girl is born, they notice that she is like a human. The Ajin carries her up and exclaims that she’ll be a beautiful girl. Stasha asks whom she looks like. The Ajin says both of them. They call out to Loki and introduce him to his younger sister, Nakaba. Loki greets his younger sister. Later on, the parents say that since Loki is already old, they have to tell him something. He ought to know that their village is special so if he were to go out, he mustn’t tell anyone that Nakaba is his younger sister for if the outsiders knew, that he who has Ajin specific features and Nakaba who has human specific features are siblings, both of them will be killed. The status of an Ajin is lower so he has to claim that he is Nakaba’s attendant. Stasha apologizes to Loki. Loki asks her why she is apologizing, he knows already that if they were to go outside, he will protect Nakaba. And, their village was raided by Guran’s soldiers. And, they were taken in by the Senan royal family.

In the room, Loki thinks that of this loneliness, sadness and terror that he couldn’t tell anyone. He couldn’t tell that king that he is his grandfather and he is Stasha’s child, and that he is Nakaba’s brother. He felt that he is all alone. Later on, Loki tries to tell the Senan king who he is but the king asks if he wanted to tell him where he inherited that black hair. Loki realizes that the king knew that he is his daughter’s son but then, he’s an Ajin from start to end, much inferior than a red haired one. He is the shame of the royal family. He wonders why Nakaba wasn’t born with his hair color, why he wasn’t born with human features, why she is born with human features, she is obviously his younger sister yet why does he have to be her attendant. Nakaba is the only one standing at his side and his whole world is only her for only her gives meaning to his existence. And, he obviously loves only her but he also hates her. Ah, he realizes that he is a beast. He decides to resist this fate using his power. Vengeance against this lonely world. He cannot go back again and he also doesn’t want to go back. He already doesn’t have [much] time. End flashback. Crying Nakaba sits by the hallway then starts crying out loud in anguish. Nakaba wonders if Loki also felt despair, hatred, and sadness in this hallway. And, did he also shout like this to the point of exhaustion but no one hears it in this endless darkness. Whom to tell, using a voice that cannot be reached[/transmitted]. Back in reality, Caesar says that Nakaba won’t wake up. Ahkil tells him that this is bad. He explains that the power of the people with Arcana can be a heavy burden on the body and he has seen a document before about the clan that had the Arcana of Time tend to have short lifespans. It is because the power is so strong that it is a burden on the body and vitality. If Nakaba kept on being imprisoned within the world of the Arcana, her life might be in danger. This made Caesar nervous that he calls out to Nakaba. Narration: “My voice can no longer be reached.” Next, the finale.

Comment: So, it turns out that they are siblings. I did think that Loki is of royal birth because of his hair but I cannot imagine Stasha having two men in her life. It turns out that her husband is an Ajin with red hair + Arcana. Loki really has a depressing tragic life. Is it a small consolation that at least he experienced how it is to be a ruler even if it is for a short while? In a way, they did get their revenge, Nakaba is happy and everything with the one she loves and for a short while, he lived as a free man and a ruler which is his rightful position. Too bad he died of overusing his power. Maybe he cannot help use it or he was careless. Hm..if it weren’t for the Arcana, no one would know Loki’s secret for he is really good at hiding it. The ones who know like his grandfather won’t tell anyone. And, Nakaba never bothered to ask him about those telltale signs like where he got the Arcana and his black hair..just assuming that he is a clansman who is ever loyal to her.
