Free Talk: Kono Oto Tomare 104

 This chapter has a lot of ‘hanging’ [wait for the next chapter/s to know more about it] scenes. ^^; Regarding grandpa’s request, at first I thought that it is about the keeping the koto club up and running. But the next scene is Chika thinking about finishing his solo. So, was the request is to play a solo koto performance?

From Suzuka’s talk with Chika, it seems that he has some insight regarding what kind of person Uzuki is. Chika is indeed planning to do what he did before and seems inclined to give up rather than fight. It is understandable though especially since things had spread in social media and what happened to his grandpa. He has become popular for the wrong reasons and just like what Satowa mentioned to her mother, it is easy to jump into conclusions.

Their talk also reveal Chika’s thought about himself being dispensable. It is okay to sacrifice himself especially since he is the cause of the problem. Everything will be okay afterwards. He didn’t realize how important he is to the group. Actually, if it weren’t for him, the club would have disbanded. They couldn’t have reach this point without him.

Thinking about the concept regarding the piece, I’m comparing it to some ingredients to a food recipe. It is like a certain recipe is almost similar to others but there is always that secret ingredient that has to be added to make it special from the rest especially if it is a popular food. I’m thinking that is like Chika’s part. Even if without him, the piece is still okay. But then, it is just okay, not special.

Anyway, I guess Chika’s mentality made Suzuka snap and lecture him. ^^; And, he gave an important tip – ‘start thinking what he is to the people around him’. Hm...maybe he should also find that out too, with regards to Uzuki. What is he to Uzuki that makes him do all these things?

Well, it’s nice that Takeru is giving his brother some info regarding Uzuki. Apparently, there were some rumors about Uzuki but because of his standing and position, people don’t think it is possible to connect delinquent acts with a member of the student council. Like, does he have a lot of free time to do shady stuff aside from studying and student council? How high is the possibility that he has a ‘double life’?

I’m curious though what Suzuka plans to tell them. He does need the others to keep Chika in check so that he won’t do reckless things for what he thinks is the best for the group. Hm...most likely, he is going to tell them about Chika planning to quit the club. In a way, it can make others make Chika realize what he is to them.

Tetsuki is quite clever to use Satowa to make Chika eat. It goes to show that it isn’t the same as before when Tetsuki is helpless alone in trying to pull Chika back up again since he won’t listen to him. In a way, it shows who Satowa is to Chika. Hehe, she can make him eat. ^^ I don’t think the other guys can do that.

Sigh, Uzuki interrupted Chika’s question to Satowa. I guess those pictures are like a threat. Interestingly, Uzuki included his aunt and the teachers. Uzuki practically researched everyone and I guess want to cut everyone off Chika. Hm...still wondering about the aunt’s inclusion...is that more about not getting too close or leave her house? Does he want Chika to be a bum or something?

I’m not exactly sure what else Uzuki is planning but I guess he decided to do more drastic stuff especially since the grandpa incident didn’t work. The social media ‘ruin Chika’s reputation’ stuff does seem like just an appetizer. And, it seems that Abiko is just hanging around for the fun.

Anyway, it seems that Satowa can read more into Chika now. She knows that something is up. Well, it is indeed suspicious that he’ll suddenly eat fast and leave after reading something on his cellphone. Satowa is now going to do what Chika did when she was facing her mother issue. That is being there for him and not make him face it all alone. Ah, she took her bag so that it will be a weapon? ^^;

I wonder if she’ll meet up with the other members on her way out. There’s a high chance that it will be Takezou and Hiro. I mean, they might want to talk to Chika immediately after knowing what Suzuka told them. I think it is better that way rather than Satowa going alone.

Uzuki might realize how special Satowa is to Chika and just use her to threaten Chika. I think that is enough to make Chika do anything Uzuki wants. I mean Chika would most likely do that especially because of what happened to his grandpa. He would at all cost want to avoid that kind of incident, not wanting it to happen ever again.
