think Cedric is a combination of Ren and Shou since he’s in acting and recently,
singing. It makes me think that Shou will be his rival in music. From all the
mention about Kimiko, it makes me think that she’ll be back. I actually hope
so, so that Kyouko can give her what she deserves after what she tried to pull
off before.
I
was going to say she’ll be Kyouko’s rival but then, based on the audition,
Kyouko can easily beat her. So perhaps, Kimiko’s edge would be to do dirty
tricks and her infamous ‘lies’. Though, they are more useful if they aren’t in
an audition. Ah yes, she is definitely a woman whom Ren is weak against that he
would rather not have anything to do with her.

Apparently,
the secret identity stuff will be dealt with later on. So, aside from that, Ren
is going for the second part of any shoujo confession, ‘will you be my lover’.
Actually, if it is a yes, would it be announced in public?
Perhaps,
answering the ending blurb, the motive is so that Ren would feel secure and won’t
be jealous much with the other men? I’m thinking of this as those hickey/sex-type
of scenarios in other shoujo of ‘you are mine’. Nevertheless, no matter what is
said, this is considered a major progress. ^^
I wonder.... because of what Kyoko recalled. She may refuse or make an excuse to delay the response.

When do you think Ren is going to realize Bo is kyoko? That would cause a lot of trouble....

DeleteIt is hard to say if she will refuse/delay. I guess among others, it depends if the 'high' of realizing that it is mutual is still there. If ever, at most, I would expect a yes but the relationship will be kept a secret.
I see. I guess I don't have that kind of scenario in mind due to his past with Ren. Hm...was he the one who send Rick flying or just his other goon?
Maybe much later on. Since Kyouko seems likely to get away with the secret, I'm thinking perhaps, that secret identity that can be used to talk with Ren will happen again in the future.
Kyoko recalled ren's sad expression right? and there is also her promise to Sho... which is not on her mind right now but she may recall it soon, I mean as she is thinking of how ro respond. So as much as Kyoko said yes to Ren entertaining the idea that she likes him too, I don't think them becoming a couple is going to be a thing happening soon. I think Kyoko is going to find a reason or something trying to delay an actual answer to becoming Ren's girlfriend. Since she does not want to bring up everything she knows through being Bo and Ren's taruma and all. Having said that, she may make a promise like she won't fall in love or date another man to put Ren's mind at ease.

Deletewell considering the promise she made with Sho and her impression of Ren because of their conversions when she was Bo... I can't see it in any other way, now how much of this she needs to reveal to Ren to be able to convince him I am not sure.

Haha, I don't have the impression that he will ever try that unless forced to do so for variety shows. But then, being able to play piano is most likely enough to win an audience especially fangirls. ^^

DeleteI was thinking maybe there could be like a fast forward while Ren goes to the US and Kyoko becomes a more famous actress in Japan. I don't see them as becoming a couple since she only entertained the idea of loving him and did not really declare it. I know the mangaka was talking about writing a longer story compared to Tokyo Crazy Paradise but how much longer... is the question. The way the story has been developing you can end it very soon or you can drag it a few more years.

Indeed, Elle. But then, 'very soon' is relative. I mean, it is just a few days in the story but in real life, it can be months to years. Each arc lately is from 1 year to 1 1/2 year. So, how many arcs are still needed? For this arc, from the misunderstanding up to this point, it is more than a year already.

True, I hope it drags on more than a year or two. This is already more than twice Tokyo Crazy Paradise, but that manga had a rushed ending. I hope they don't rush Skip Beat's ending.

From what I heard before, TCP ended abruptly because the editor/publisher wanted to end it. I'm guessing that it is because of the sales/rating.

ReplyDeleteFirst, I don't understand how Kyouko talking about having Kimiko's phone number explains how she knew about Ren planning to confess.
Second, Ren's expressions somehow don't seem to match the mood, like how he almost seems irritated when saying he wants to be worthy of being her boyfriend.
Last, the teaser at the end says "what is the true motive behind Ren's statement?" So then is there an ulterior motive?
My only thought so far, which might be far fetched, is that maybe he already figured out she's Bo and he's trying to get her to tell him. He told Bo he can't have a relationship, so will she slip up and mention that during her shock about his sudden boyfriend proposal?
Maybe I'm just so used to this story throwing curveballs that I'm too wary of this big development actually working out well. ^^;;
Hehe, I got a bit confused there, squeaker. In the scans I read, it was Kimiko's email. Anyway, from the looks of it, it seems like a diversion/change topic. I guess I'm also puzzled about imagined Kimiko saying about wishing him the best if Ren is happy. In short, I just dismissed the whole thing as a plot = 'fix the loophole for Ren to assume Kyouko is Bou so that secret will be revealed later on for whatever purpose of the story. 😅

DeleteI cannot say. There is a pro and con that I can think of. Con - it would make her look bad for agreeing to that kind of agreement. Pro - it is possible that Ren that will help her get out of that predicament. Though, it's possible that she admits and he helps her ^^

I have a feeling Kyoko will decline because the thing about Ren not being able to take on a lover will play in her mind. She would also connect Ren’s jealousy as trigger to the confession. However, if Ren actually wants to date her is also unclear. In case, Ren is incapable of dating, I see them coming out of this as two ppl who have feelings for each other but are not dating. But considering their attraction to each other, that arrangement won’t last and they’ll be all over each other soon off.

I think that the identity stuff will be used in the future as a reason for them to fell apart for a while. Both for their own reason will be like "what ?! you lied/didn't tell me the truth ?!" I have the impression it is quite common as a plot twist.
I don't know what to think about the BF question. I have the impression that he genuinely asks her. Because he is kind of in the mood of "it's now or never + I already started I better use the momentum to the fullest". However, I can see her dismissing him with a "I'm not of age yet. So, yes, I like you. But let's stay like that for now." + "before asking this type of question, clear up the other mess with kana" + "going out with me won't be good for your career - I'm still your kouhai".
As for the promise to Shou, I think he will come around by himself, and let her go with that because either it will be to obvious that there is something between Ren and her, or he will be to concern for her being sad again.
I do wonder if we are going to see Reino before the end of the manga though...
I also wonder how all of that is going to turn. I have the impression that we passed a milestone for this manga, but it has brought even more questions or possibilities in terms of what could happen now. There are new characters and old ones who need to be dealt with. We're here for a few more years I reckon.

True, those are possibilities for turning him down. Hm...but then, in the end, aren't those excuses? What would be the main reason for turning him down? I'm just thinking that if the reason isn't that good, things will be awkward later on and it might take a very long time for them to go back to this point. Lol, obviously I'm more worried about things dragging on. 😅
For me, that promise is easy to break because in the first place, 'Ren Tsuraga' doesn't exist. But then, this has potential use in terms of conflict so the secret identity might not be revealed soon.
We might...I think if ever they all go to US. More like a chance encounter? Perhaps, another way to reveal the secret identity?

ReplyDeleteI don't know if you recall, but there was an arc in the manga with Kuu Hizuri a long while back where Ren said he would return to the states when he was "ready." I'm assuming he meant when he was ready to embrace Kuon, which is where he is at in the manga right now. I think that Ren now planning to return to America will cause a major change in the storyline and his relationship with Kyoko. However, I don't see their relationship materializing just yet, even with Ren's confession and Kyoko's reciprocation. I think they'll reach a mutual understanding of their love for each other but not go so far as becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, especially with Ren's impending move.
I also think that there will be a time skip in heir relationship once they become boyfriend and girlfriend up until the point they begin living together. In terms of Ren's secret identity, it wouldn't be tasteful to have Cedric, the guy who bullied Ren, be the one to reveal his secret but, knowing the writing style of the mangaka, this very well may pan out. Later they might have a touchy-feely session where they open up to each other and let all their secrets/feelings out -- mainly Ren's secrets. That would be so much more intimate than a kiss scene, I think. Them being raw and honest about their feelings would be so, so refreshing.
I honestly want the manga to end ASAP, but I also want it to reach its end naturally. I also want a few kisses or hugs in the next few chapters, but maybe that's just my wishful thinking??? lol
About Ren going back to the US, are we presuming it to be permanent or temporary like he'll go back and forth between US and Japan? I'm thinking like this, the person one likes might be moving/leaving soon, you know you like each other, wouldn't you want to be 'official'? Something like long distance relationship?
DeleteIn reality, that isn't a good idea since you'll be 'tied up' and who knows what the other is doing/might get tempted, etc. But since this is shoujo, I'm inclining that they will be bf-gf though it might be a secret. Another reason why I'm not keen on a 'no' is, I'm not sure how things has to be set-up again for it to become a 'yes' in the future. When/how will he ask again? But if Kyouko mentioned some problem about it, perhaps, after resolving that issue she will say yes?
About the secret, it depends. Like, would Cedric recognize him being 'Ren' with different hair color and eye color + different persona?
Hehe, if it is a 'no' from Kyouko, I'm not sure if there will be kisses/hugs in the next chapter. 😅 Won't it be awkward?
