Preview: Tsubasa to Hotaru [Chapter 21]

[Free talk: I like chapters 21 and 22 because of the guy I like in this series had good/amusing scenes. Unfortunately, he isn’t the lead guy ;_;  Hehe, it screams 'summarize me'  Anyway, this is just a preview speed summary and I’m not committing to summarizing this regularly. Chapter 22 will hopefully be up tomorrow. I'm doing this while waiting for the Chinese scanlations of the other series to be uploaded.]

The teacher gives out the results of the grades. Yoshinari is relieved that he passed. When asked about her grades, Tsubasa exclaims that it is perfect. She shows them the basketball club’s Christmas party plan on Dec 24th that she made. 1. Toast 2. Cake and lunch 3. Exchange gift 4. Bingo game. They praise her for it and plan to buy the gifts when they don’t have school. Yoshinari asks about how they are going to give the gifts. It would be a problem if they don’t know if it is a boy or a girl who’ll receive it. Tsubasa thinks about this and had an idea. At the gym, Yoshinari wants some praise for passing and he is excited about the winter training camp. The coach refuses to praise him but about the training during winter vacation, the details are still being discussed. Yoshinari is thinking of winter camp but the coach says that he isn’t talking about a training camp.

After they were dismissed, Tsubasa tells them to take a ballot to know who they will give a gift to. [<- Kris Kringle/ Secret Santa] Yoshinari happily says that he already got his but he is keeping it a secret which is what Tsubasa ordered. After the others got their ballots, Tsubasa gets the last one. She hopes that it will be Aki but it is Yuuma. She is worried for she doesn’t know what he likes. She notices Yuuma’s frozen smile and crumples the paper. She becomes nervous about that so she looks at Aki. Aki looks surprised and speechless. This made her ask Aki if there is any problem. Blushing a bit, he says that it is nothing. Tsubasa wonders whom Aki got and she really wants his Christmas gift so hopefully, she’s the one. Later on, the girls are shopping for the gifts. Dark haired girl wants Yuuma’s gift or be the one who’ll give him the gift. They wonder who got that ballot.

Tsubasa becomes nervous and says how about giving a gift to Yuuma apart from the exchange gift. The two refuses. Tsubasa tells them that she had prepared a gift for Aki since it is Christmas.. The girls are surprised by this. Then, they overheard some guys talking about what to buy. It is Aki and the others. Yuuma asks if they are going to buy Christmas gifts. Tsubasa considers herself lucky to see Aki in casual clothes and the scarf around his neck is really cute. The two other girls are commenting about Yuuma’s style of clothes which suits him. This made Tsubasa think that this is the opportunity to know what Yuuma likes. Before talking to Yuuma, she wonders how to ask it without letting him know that she is the one who’ll give him the gift since Yuuma is super sharp. Pointing to some penguin dolls, Tsubasa says to look, aren’t they very cute. Yuuma says indeed they are. Tsubasa mentions about liking that color so what about him. After looking surprised, Yuuma says that he likes black.

Tsubasa decides to keep this up naturally to get more information. She asks him about having pets and does he like animals. He says no, don’t like animals at all. She mentions about a newly opened sweets store so does he like sweets. He says, so-so. She asks if there is something that he lost and felt troubled about it. He says no, it isn’t special at all. Tsubasa has run out of questions when Yuuma says but, lately, he felt that it is unexpectedly cold so doesn’t it make one want to have something to warm one’s body. Tsubasa agrees and says that she wants one too. Tsubasa starts thinking of things that can make one warm like scarf, gloves, etc. She thanks him and says that she’ll go check at some other place. After she left, Yuuma smiles knowingly. Tsubasa is happy that she now knows what to give Yuuma when, she notices Aki looking at some bento boxes and looking troubled. She decided to help him even if she is envious of whomever he is going the gift to. She goes to him and asks if he hasn’t decided on it yet. Aki looks stunned. Then, he asks which one is better since he cannot decide.

Tsubasa giggles for it is his style. She asks if it is a girl. Aki says that it have to be kept a secret. Tsubasa thinks that it is already exposed because of the cute style of the bento boxes. Tsubasa says that she guesses that there are more girls who like pink but she likes the color blue. To her surprise, Aki chooses blue. As he goes to the cashier, she calls out to him. He gestures a ‘secret’ sign and smiles. It made her blush. Back at school, the guys are going to the gym. Yoshinari is excited over the coming winter break. At the gym, the coach tells them that they will have training with a certain school wherein they can practice with college students though it isn’t compulsory. It will be held four days during winter break, 24 to 27, and this is a rare opportunity for them. The guys look stunned. Tsubasa is happily going towards the gym.

Comment: Aw..the guys would have to decide whether to go to the party or go to that rare opportunity to practice basketball with some school. It isn’t compulsory so I’ll keep my mouth shut before I spoil something. ^^; Anyway, I like Yuuma’s scene with her. I like the guy for being so sharp ^^ Aki’s scene is good, too ^^ It is cute and surely, she is the one whom he’ll give a gift to ^^ As I mentioned before, the mangaka is going for a love triangle again and this time, I’m on team ‘other guy’ so as I mentioned to others before, I’m not keen on summarizing it since he will surely be rejected/dumped. ;_; Though it seems that the other girl likes him.
