Kedamono Kareshi [Chapter 22]

Himari and Keita are surprised when their parents inform them that they will be going on a family vacation trip to Kyushu. Keita complains to his father that they are already high schoolers so how can they are going on a trip together. Himari is mentally freaking out that she’ll be with Keita after a lot of things happened yesterday. Upstairs, Himari immediately hides when Keita calls out to her. He asks her what she plans to do, does she want to go to Kyushu. Himari says that seeing their parents anticipating it, she would want to go. She becomes excited and says that she wants to go because she has never gone to a ‘family trip’. Keita happily says that he’ll go, too since she wants him to go. Himari shouts that she didn’t say that. To Himari’s shock, Keita informs her that they will be living in the same inn so his father will stay with her mother, then both of them will be staying in the same room. He tells her to get ready during the trip. Himari hopes that this feeling of liking Keita would quickly disappear but it didn’t decline a bit. She feels that leaving this feeling in her heart is also not allowed and with this kind of situation, she still went to the family trip. Soon, they arrive at Nagasaki. Keita is aghast over their excited parents. Himari’s stomach hurts from thinking too much these past few days. Keita pats Himari’s head and asks why she looks gloomy. He laughs that she’s even holding a travel guide and she’s quite lively that it’s a waste for him to worry about her. This made Himari blush. She quickly covers her face with the travel guide and says that their parents are calling them. Keita is surprised by what she did. Back at the inn, Keiko tells Himari to go to the room first and she’ll wait for her husband. Himari happily goes back and thinks that she felt comfortable after the [hot spring] bath. She becomes nervous at the door because before, there’s no problem, and the problem is afterwards. She peeks in to see Keita complaining that she took a bath for such a long time. Himari immediately blushes. She thinks that before, she is already used to seeing him after taking a bath but for today, it is different and her heart is beating rapidly when obviously, she shouldn’t. This made Keita smile. He asks if she’s blushing after seeing him and by the way, isn’t he always in her mind today. Himari denies it. Keita teases her that she’s anticipating that something will happen tonight. He grabs her wrist and says that anyway, their parents haven’t come back so how about doing a little something right now. While Himari is nervous over this crisis, the door suddenly slides open and Shigeru asks if the two of them had already come back. Himari pushes Keita away and he fell on the floor. Blushing Himari welcomes them back and Shigeru is puzzled.

Soon, the three are talking about feeling comfortable after the bath while Keita looks dark. Himari is worried how the 4 days 3 nights will be when on the first day this kind of situation already happened. Shigeru says that they have a lot of places to go to tomorrow so they should sleep early. Himari is nervous for here it comes. Lying on the futon, Keita is furious for he and Himari are sleeping in between their parents. It turns out that Shigeru reserved connecting rooms. Keita couldn’t believe this situation. He angrily sits up and wonders what his father is thinking. Then, he notices that Himari is awake. To his surprise, Himari quickly lies down to sleep. She thinks that even if she felt sorry for Keita but this way, it will be quite peaceful these coming three days since nothing should happen with their parents sleeping in the middle. Keita continues to be furious. So, the trip went smoothly as they all went sight-seeing in Nagasaki and take pictures..with only Keita looking very gloomy. As days pass, Keita’s bad mood increases. At the souvenir shop, Keita thinks that his father deliberately arranged this. Watching him from the side, Himari thinks that right now, it would be better for her not to get close to Keita. While watching their parents shop, Himari thinks that even if she has all sorts of worries, it is great to go there with everyone, and Keita. Keita approaches her and says that he finally found her. He tells her that she has been avoiding him these past three days. Himari decides to change the topic by asking if he wants a cute souvenir. Keita darkly says of course not, are you an idiot. Himari thinks that he had accumulated a lot of anger these past three days. Then, she sees a cute grumpy fox phone chain. She says that it’s quite cute and very similar with Keita’s current expression so she wants to buy it. Then, she freaks out for that is like saying she likes him. She timidly says that she’ll look at other things. Keita tells her to buy one for him. Himari is surprised that he also wants one. Keita tosses his cellphone and the strap to her. Before leaving, he tells her to quickly put the strap on it then return the phone to him. Blushing Himari looks at Keita and sees him blushing. She thinks that one cannot use words to express this feeling. Basically, she only wants to leave it in her heart and be satisfied with it but right now, like this, they are tightly connected. They both have the same phone straps on their cellphones. Later on, Himari is happy that it is the first time she is using the same thing as Keita and as a souvenir, it shouldn’t be strange. Keiko asks her if that is something both she and Keita bought, and is their relationship quite good. Himari timidly says that it is a souvenir from the trip. Keiko says that’s great and she should also buy a pair for her and her husband. While smiling, Himari felt a pain in her heart for she had lied to her beloved mother again and even if she is very happy, she also feels at fault.

Comment: For now, Himari is safe from Keita. I guess Keita should have change his tactic since forcing Himari isn’t the way to go..it should be more subtle. Of course, because of what he is doing, he seems like a ‘joke’ here like, the one whose plans and advances kept on failing due to circumstances. ^^; Well, I guess Keita is underestimating Himari’s ‘wanting to be the obedient girl’ to her mother. It is one thing to make Himari also confess that she likes him, but what about afterwards.. Can Himari go lovey-dovey with him when with just with a lie, Himari’s guilty conscience is already pricking her? Well, if Keita keeps on doing those things, it won’t be long that they might be noticed by their parents since Himari is acting strange. Scans by all★wink汉化组
