Kedamono Kareshi [Chapter 17]

Just when Himari is calling out to Keita’s name, it turns out that it is Ryou who helped her out. The two guys complain where he come from when they had their eye on her first. Ryou brings her near the toilet. Himari thanks him and asks why he is here when she didn’t tell him. She felt shy and cannot face him because it has been a long time since they’ve seen each other this summer vacation. Ryou smiles and tells her that it is good that she is okay. He tells her that luckily, he and the others in the soccer club just happen to came here and she better be careful. Himari tells him that she’ll pay attention next time. To her shock, Ryou says that it seems that she expects someone else to save her. Himari timidly explains that it is Keita since usually, he would be there during these kind of times so she unconsciously.. While Ryou is frowning, Himari is looking around and says that they’ve agreed that he won’t come to the store. Looking at the side, Ryou says that he doesn’t think that Keita would respect that agreement. Outside the store, the two guys are grumbling over what happened and it’s just a high schooler. Keita puts his foot on the wall and warns the two not to use their dirty hands to touch that girl and don’t go to that store again. They angrily ask who he is and isn’t he also a high schooler. One of the guys to grab Keita but Keita manages to grab him first and flips him on the ground. Keita says that isn’t it embarrassing that he got done over by a high schooler. He warns him again not to go to the store again nor flirt around with that girl. The guy angrily asks why would he listen to him and it has nothing to do with him. Keita angrily says that it is because of them that Ryou’s stocks went up. The guy asks huh, what he is talking about. Then, Keita proceeds to beat him up.

Later on, Himari is shock that Keita is actually there. She scolds him as to why he is there when she told him not to come and he’s causing a ruckus outside the store. Keita says that it isn’t like he wanted to go on his own, but rather, her mother asked him to check on her. Also, they will have a barbecue today so buy some meat on the way home. Himari is furious over his attitude, but then, he protected her. Ryou sadly glances at Himari who is looking at leaving Keita. A waitress asks Himari if that handsome guy who helped her is her boyfriend. While Ryou and club members are eating at the restaurant, Himari says no, but a friend she knew since elementary. The waitress asks if she used to live nearby. Himari says yes, they’ve moved before. This made Himari recall the house where they lived while her father is still living. It pains her to recall of the past but today, she wants to pass by and see her old house. After buying the meat, she turns to the corner and wonders if it is the same as before after four years. To her dismay, the house is going to be demolished. During their family barbecue, Shigeru tells Himari that she isn’t eating, doesn’t she like barbecue. Himari says that she likes it. He asks how come she looks glum, is it about work and don’t force herself. Shaking her head, Himari assures him that it is fine. He tells her that if something happens, she should definitely tell them about it. Then, Keiko tells Shigeru that the meat is burning. He asks for another drink to which Keiko says okay but Keita says that he drinks too much. Himari looks at them and thinks that this is obviously a rare barbecue and yet, she kept on thinking of her old house. Keita quietly watches her. Later on, Himari decides to check the old house again before it is demolished. Upon arriving, she sees that the house is currently being torn down. She is teary-eyed for it is the house where she lived with her father. To her surprise, Keita is behind her and says that it turns out that this is what’s going on with her.

Comment: So, harassment is solved with the help of the two guys. Ryou got her away and Keita threatens the guys. Apparently, she isn’t going to resign just yet, and that is good. The next issue is her old house being demolished. It is indeed sad to see the house one used to really cherished being demolished. As usual, Himari keeps up her pretense of being happy. I guess Shigeru didn’t pursue it further to give her space and it is up to Keita to ‘investigate’ the real reason. Well, it seems the pattern of this series is first part resolve the cliffhanger/problem of last chapter then the second part is new problem. =P Scans by all★wink汉化组
