Kainushi wa Akuma [Chapter 7]

While walking at the halls of the Vatican, Albrecht passes by a guy who is wearing fur and printed shirt. He says that it has been a long time, Basilisk. Opening the cabinet, Nora is surprised over the many dresses in it since it isn’t exactly ‘some’ clothes that Win has prepared for her. Win takes out a dress and happily recommends it to Nora. After a scream and a slap, Win tells Albrecht that it is the ‘whip of love’. Wearing the dress that Win recommended, Nora angrily comes out and shouts for him to quit recklessly saying things. She reprimands Win for not reflecting on his deed of just entering inside when she is going to change her clothes. Albrecht asks if he is peeping. Win denies this for if he was peeping, he would be more cautious and absolutely won’t let her see him. Nora grabs his collar wanting to kill him when someone calls out their attention. It is Basilisk who comments that he is happy that Win is enjoying life. Since Basilisk greeted her, Nora wonders how he knew her name and he doesn’t seem to be a priest. Albrecht tells Nora that Basilisk is a ‘merchant’ and Win bought her clothes from him. Basilisk tells Nora that not only clothes, he also sell other things that the people needs whether it is things, people or information. Feeling that sharp pain, Nora mutters that he is a devil. Basilisk asks if it is because he is the same with her pet owner that is why she noticed it. Upon confirmation, Nora sighs. Albrecht comments that her reaction is quite calm. Nora tells him that it isn’t surprising that there is a merchant demon because after all the Church also had a contract with a demon. Albrecht says that is good. Nora protests that it isn’t since she is worried about the Church’s future. Win asks Basilisk why he unexpectedly came here on his own. Basilisk says that even if he has ‘direct permission’ to go in the Vatican but he didn’t come here to hang out because devils would avoid it even if there is someone who is totally not affected that he can freely coming in and out. [<- referring to Albrecht]. Win asks again why he would come here then. Basilisk asks for a favor. Upon looking at Nora, Basilisk puts his arm around her and asks Albrecht to lend Nora to him for a day, and of course, he can come along, too. Since Albrecht says that it won’t be cheap, Basilisk tells him that even if he didn’t say it, he would repay him with a huge amount of money. Win muses over how easy Albrecht agreed to it To Nora’s anger, Albrecht agrees to lend her to Basilisk without her permission. At a bar, a couple of drunkards notice that it is open when it was always closed. They decide to enter but beautifully dressed Nora apologizes to them that the place is fully booked so come back next time. Blushing, the two leave. Basilisk comments that Nora is really good in acting the role of ‘bar’s proprietress’. Nora angrily asks if she is the bar’s proprietress, then what is he. Basilisk asks if he is the boss[/proprietor] who has fallen for her. Putting his arm around Nora, Albrecht says that he’ll play the role of the bar customer who wins the proprietress’ heart. Nora angrily shouts for him not to say such nonsense things and it is fine for him to be an ordinary customer. Nora asks why he is wearing that casual outfit that it looks suspicious. He tells her that it enables him to blend in for priests don’t go to bars like this. Then, Nora asks why she has to wear these revealing clothes. She is speechless when Basilisk laughs and says that it is his interest[/hobby].

Kainushi wa Akuma [Chapter 6]

Cover page: “People possessing rare eyes mutually attract each other.” Win seriously says that he has a very important announcement. Nora and Albrecht anticipate what it is. After coughing, Win tells them that from today on, the two of them are going to reside at ‘Central’s Vatican[pope office]. Walking away, Nora says okay, goodbye. Win nervously calls out to her. Feeling tired, Nora scolds Win that he specially called them from a far away place, using a messenger pigeon, to the Vatican just to hear him say some delusions. Win laughs and says that’s quite mean, for he is quite serious. Nora angrily bangs the table and shouts that answer sucks even more than the one earlier. Albrecht tells Win to quickly explain the situation before it becomes worst and he will be the first one to suffer. Looking at furious Nora, Win thanks him for the warning. He tells Nora that the first time he saw her, he had already noticed it, those beautiful emerald green eyes. This surprises Nora. Albrecht tells Nora not to belittle Win for whether good or bad, he stands at the top of priesthood so he already noticed that her eyes are special. Win tells Albrecht that is a mean way of putting it and he’ll get angry over that. Standing up, Win tells that in simple terms, for the ‘Church’, they must protect her, who possesses the ‘Emerald Eyes’ and even if it is imperfect, but there is also a need to prevent bad usage. “So, I hope that you’ll stay here where I can see you.” Nora asks if that is all for if it is to protect her, how come he didn’t call her earlier and after the last ceremony ended, she couldn’t have straightforwardly come there so why ‘now’. Win laughs and says that is a good question, why ‘now’..well, it is because—Win opens the window to show a mansion. “Finally, at last, it is completed! Your new home--” Albrecht and Nora looks dumbfound. Nora shouts that it is too near, just a few meters from Win’s office[/Vatican]. Aghast Nora asks if he specially build that. Win happily says yes, it is recently made and because time is urgent so he would always urge the workers to hurry it up. Win also says that it is quite unprecedented in history to construct a house within the annexed territory of the Vatican. “But it is alright, because I’m the ‘pope’. I’m the church’s highest authority. *roses all over* Actually, no one can fundamentally oppose me, right?” Nora angrily shouts if it is really okay to have such a willful pope and please don’t use his papal authority for his own whims. Albrecht just laughs. Sparkling Win seriously tells Nora that if the pope cannot casually use his authority for what he desires, then why he would still continue on being a pope. Nora darkly tells him that a lie would be fine, so please tell her something that can be believed. Win chuckles that it is already been built so it is useless to any more things, and isn’t it a house worthy of recommendation. “So, right now, I’ll accompany you guys and give you a little tour.”

Kainushi wa Akuma [Chapter 5]

Flashback: Three years ago, it is a stormy night. At a small church, a girl is praying by the candle-lit altar. “-God, please, listen to my wish. Please-” Then a man arrived and said that since she is praying really hard, he has come to grant her wish for her.” End flashback. Nora is surprised to see a ruined small church that she asks Albrecht if it is a church. He tells her that it should be said that it is a worship hall. Nora says that they only live in the church so are they going to stay there..and is that even livable. He tells her that fundamentally, they can stay at the place which is used by the church and if it is an inevitable situation, there is also exception—Then, he notices a couple of chatting women approaching them. Narration: “A month ago, a priest came to my hometown, saying that he’s going to ‘exterminate devils.’ –the priest is called Father Albrecht Eber. He is actually a devil who had a contract with the Church. And, this devil saved me when I was dying. And, I ended up as a pet being raised by him.” Albrecht calls out to the two women and asks if they can tell them where the village head is. The two stunned women point at the side. He smiles and thanks them. The women still look stunned after the couple left. Nora asks if they are going to stay at the house of the village head. He says yes, in this kind of situation but of course, they need to get the other party’s sympathy. The couple is surprised when a woman from the house of the village head happily welcomes them and says that she was waiting for them for such a long time. As Albrecht goes in with the woman, Nora wonders why she said that ‘for such a long time’ as if she earlier knew that they are coming. While tea and snacks are served, Albrecht apologizes for the sudden visit but he doesn’t know if they can stay there for a night. The woman exclaims of course, this village has no inns and the church can’t be lived in. She felt ashamed for this village has nothing but they are welcome to stay for as long as they want. Albrecht thanks her. The woman comments that the two of them looks like dolls and she didn’t imagine that their guests are so beautiful that she is quite astonished. This surprises Nora. Albrecht takes the opportunity to mention to the woman that it seems she knows that they are coming. This made Nora remember about being puzzled over that. Just when the woman is about to tell them, someone says, “It’s me. I’m the one who said it. ‘There are visitor/s coming to the village’-” A young lady comes in and the woman exclaims, “Erica!” The couple wonders who she is. The woman introduces her daughter, Erica.

Kainushi wa Akuma [Chapter 4]

An elderly priest looks aghast and exclaims, “Your Eminence--!!? Ca Ca Cardinal Haseney. Where has His Eminence went to.. Wha..what am I to do..!?” Helping him sit down, A younger priest tells Bishop Kohler to calm down. Kohler protests that tomorrow is the ceremony that is being held once every four years. The younger priest tells him not to worry for fundamentally His Eminence’s nature is quite troublesome. “Just like this, it isn’t the first time for him to stealthily disappear. He should come back today. I’ll also look for His Eminence so bishop, concentrate on the preparations for tomorrow’s ceremony.” Kohler timidly agrees and hurries off. The priest sighs for His Eminence is troubling a kind-hearted person. Then, he notices someone is by the window. The man says, “Gabriel, you’re also worried the whole day.” Gabriel looks surprised and exclaims, “You are--!” It is Albrecht who is sitting by the window. Narration: “It has already been half a month since we departed from that village. This ‘no fixed residence’ kind of life is already a common occurrence. At the same time, I’ve been taken care by a silver haired purple eyed devil. And because of that devil, I’m been thrown to the side of this town and I don’t know where he went.” Looking around, Nora thinks that there are too many people around so could there be something special going on in this town. Then, she is surrounded by three men. A priest is passing by and notices the three men pestering Nora. Nora shouts at the men that she is with her friend and she doesn’t have time to bother herself with them. The three tells her that they’ll just be with her until her friend arrives and they can have fun together. Nora angrily tells them that if they don’t leave.. The priest tells the three men to stop for it isn’t good at all to force a girl to do something that she doesn’t want to. The three guys are shock for it is a good looking man and who is he. Nora is speechless. Later on, the priest smiles and says, “-then, let me introduce myself. I’m Winfried. Call me Win. How about you?” Nora tensely says her name. She becomes gloomy over why did things turn out this way. It turns out that Win is happily sitting beside her on a bench. She wonders what’s up with this guy for she can’t explain it on how she ended up going along with him. Flashback: Win put his arm around Nora and told her that they are going. They walked away leaving the three stupefied men. End flashback. Nora thinks that this guy ought to have helped her and she didn’t felt any malice but is this guy a priest. Win says that is right, he has a bonbon[/candy]. Twisting the wrapper open, Win tells her that it looks delicious. Nora wonders why he would unexpectedly bring out a bonbon. To her surprise, Win holds up the candy and says, “Here--” Nora exclaims that she won’t eat it. Win asks if she doesn’t like bonbon. Nora says that the problem isn’t about liking it or not. Win smiles and says that since it isn’t about not liking it so come quickly eat it. Nora looks aghast. She starts to wonder what’s up with this situation with this man. Win insists that she quickly eats but Nora still hesitates. To their surprise, someone grabs Win’s hand and says, “Sorry- [but] feeding her should be avoided.” The two exclaims, “Albrecht!!” then, they look at each other in surprise.

Nora is sleeping in bed. When she turned to the side, she notices something. She opens her eyes to see Albrecht right next to her. He is only wearing a robe. He greets her, “Good morning, Nora. Did you sleep well?” Nora looks aghast then screams. After staying a few days in that church that doesn’t have a priest, a new priest finally arrive to assume the post. Since they are relieved of that duty, they left that little town. Albercht is speechless over Nora snubbing him. He asks her why she is being difficult. Nora angrily says that she isn’t being difficult, she’s angry. “Do you think that wearing that kind of clothes and appearing on the bed of a young girl is something that can just be overlooked!? You irrational[/no common sense] man..!!” Albercht replies, “—ah, in the end, wearing clothes is really not good, right? Next time, I’ll pay attention to that. Actually, this time, I’ll pay attention to that.” Embarrassed Nora shouts no, and why did things turn out that way for on the contrary, she wants him to wear more clothes and how come he is paying attention to the wrong thing. “Do not conveniently jump into other people’s bed! Do you want my heart to stop!?” Holding her chin towards him, Albercht tells her not to worry for if her heart stops, no matter how many times, he can resurrect her because for him, that is quite an easy thing to do. Flustered Nora thinks that is true for him it is easy because he is a devil. There is a little narration of Nora from a small village wherein people called her a ‘red haired witch’. After she met this devil priest, her life had a huge change. He is a devil who gobbles up his own kind and signed a contract with the enemy ‘Church’. She is saved by this strange devil and had become a human who has to take [his] blood regularly in order to exist. And at the same time, she is this silver haired, purple eyed devil’s pet. She doesn’t know how come a devil would want to raise her [as a pet] and in the end, there must be some sort of good benefit for him. Nora says that he is really such a strange devil for she totally doesn’t know what he is thinking. Albrecht says is that so, he thinks that compared to humans, devils are more simple and easy to understand. “Devils would blindly be faithful to their own desire because I’m a devil. Your eyes are beautiful as always. Eyes that possesses a rare power.” Nora thinks that it can’t be just kindness, and the clue is only her eyes which have a rare power which this devil is interested in.

Kainushi wa Akuma [Chapter 2]

Narration: “Ever since I was young, I have always been treated by the villagers as the ‘red haired witch’ thus I’m estranged from them. Even if there are exceptions, for me, this is an inevitable life which I thought I would always have to live through. Always until the day that I’ve met him--” And, after leaving the village, they arrive at a nearby town. Nora stares at the buildings and wonders out loud what this is. Albrecht asks her why she is standing and staring there. Nora narrates that of course, she is in this town with this devil. This priest appeared in their village a few days before and he is actually a weird devil who made a contract with the Church. He is a feeding devil who devours up his own species[/demons], and she doesn’t know why he saved her when she is nearing death. And, that is how they have a master and pet relationship which she absolutely doesn’t want to recognize. Nora tells Albrecht that compared to a ‘small town’, this is bigger than she had expected. Albrecht starts ranting about how can this is big when there are bigger towns than this, how can she be shock over this small one and maybe because she always lived in that village that this is big for her. Nora sarcastically apologizes that she lived in a remote town. Albrecht asks her if she is very happy to have left that very remote town. Nora just blushes a bit. Yes, she is happy for she has always been treated like a ‘wicked witch’ because of her red hair so she is happy to leave that village and she didn’t hesitate to choose to go with this unknown devil, but.. Nora tightens her hold on her scarf. Albrecht glances at her and says that they should go to the place where they will stay. It is a place where priests lodge in and he has to fulfill his obligations since he stays in the church. Nora says that it is quite unexpected for him comply with the church’s obligations. Albrecht says that he doesn’t hate complying with human obligations. But rather, as a devil, there are many things that he doesn’t understand and he just can’t resist that his scent is permeating into a clean church. Aghast Nora shouts for him to quit saying those things even if he is wearing priestly clothes. Later on, they arrive at the church. After knocking and there is only silence, Nora says that it seems no one is there. Albrecht says that rather than no one is there, it must be fundamentally, no one is there because he doesn’t sense any human inside. Then, they notice a couple of drunkards. Flashing his priestly smile, Albrecht asks them if he can ask about the priest in this church. The two tells them that around 2 weeks ago, the priest died. After a pause, Nora exclaims in disbelief that the priest is dead. The next day, at the church, Albrecht is preaching to the congregation about storing spiritual wealth rather than material wealth. People shouldn’t accumulate more than what can satisfy them but rather, accumulate spiritual ones like love, care and mercy towards family, loved ones and friends. Give one’s accumulated wealth to them. And at the same time, spiritual people will love, care and be merciful towards other people.

Kainushi wa Akuma [Chapter 1]

Originally posted @ tatsukida.pitas.com on October 24, 2012

It is a full moon that night. And from the moonlight, a wounded girl sees this silver haired, purple eyes, and coldly smiling devil. Wearing priest clothes, the man asks her if she doesn’t want to die, if that is so, then he’ll save her life. How it got to that point? Let’s rewind a bit as to how that happened. A nun is calling out to Nora. She asks some kids if they have seen her. They say no. The nun wonders where Nora could be when they have a visitor coming. A red haired girl is facing off with some guys who had caught a young boy. A cocky guy says that Nora dared come. Nora tells him to quit talking nonsense and let that boy go. He angrily shouts that she’s arrogant. They say that she is obviously hated by the village and yet, she is so thick-faced. Today, they are going to let her know how great they are. Cracking her knuckles, Nora angrily says that they are despicable to kidnap a kid. They are a hundred years early to think that they can win against her. The cocky guy tells the others to charge..and they all end up beaten single-handedly by Nora. ^^; Patting off the dust on her hands, Nora says that they are only talk. The boy goes to Nora. Nora asks Miguel if he is okay. The cocky guy is frustrated and threatens her to remember this. Nora tells Ricardo to relax for even if she wanted to forget, she couldn’t forget that ugly face of his that looks as if it’ll rot. Ricardo can only curse as Nora walks away with Miguel. Miguel asks Nora how come Ricardo and others would always bully her. Nora says that it is because she is a ‘red-haired woman’, who is known in legend as a sinister witch. A long time ago, an unknown woman suddenly appears in the village. It is a beautiful woman with flaming-like red hair. She used magic to seduce all of the men in the village and caused their fall. So from then on, a red haired woman in their village is called a wicked witch. End story. Miguel asks her if she is a witch. Nora says that is impossible for if she is, she would have turned those guys into toads. Nora thinks that is such a foolish story but more than half the villagers believes in it, and that gives her a headache. Miguel says that even if Nora couldn’t use magic, she is already very strong since she can win against Ricardo and the others. Nora says of course, how can she lose to some single-celled organisms? =P Nora cleans up Miguel’s tears and tells him not to always cry anymore or else, how can he become a dependable guy. She tells him that the dean said that there will be a visitor coming so they have to hurry.
