Suiren continues, “~~~..want..you to call me a lot more
times on the phone.. in the classroom.. actually.. I also want to talk with
you.. I want.. during vacation [/no school].. to meet you more [often].. I also
really want to know.. Kawasumi-kun’s joyful things ..and what makes [you] feel
happy.. *Ferris Wheel starts to move and Kawasumi looks surprised* --..want..
you.. pay more attention to me.. [/to watch me more attentively..] *crying*
..talk more.. with me..” And, their carriage reaches the top. Suiren couldn’t
stop her tears. Slightly bowing down, Kawasumi apologizes to her. Suiren thinks
that it would obviously make him very perplexed and why would she still want to
make him more perplexed about her. More distressed reflection [/pondering
over]. Even more. Somewhat flustered, Kawasumi says, “I’m sorry. I had thought
over it [and] seriously considered the things regarding you, Shibaseki-chan.”
Crying Suiren looks out and sees a couple kissing in a different carriage. She
looks away. The ride ends. Kawasumi walks ahead. The fanboys are angrily
looking at Kawasumi and probably saying stuff to him. Aya goes to Suiren. Yuri
asks Suiren why she is crying. Suiren watches Kawasumi being joined by Ryousuke
who is followed by Mina. Looking sad, Suiren wonders what they should do for it
to be okay. And a black butterfly lands on a flower.
Comment: So much
for the kiss but then, I guess that it would be better if their first kiss is
natural rather than Suiren telling him to do so. In this case, she is also
somewhat forcing herself for it just to have some sort of guarantee that they
can be happy together forever. Suiren means well to voice out what she wants in
their relationship. Even if it hurts and can cause a break up, it is better to
be clear with what one wants in a relationship. Suiren pretty much told
Kawasumi her complaints about their relationship which can be pretty much like ‘spend
more time with me’. I guess Kawasumi is pretty shock to know all of these in
one go when all this time he thought he was doing fine and he has been doing
what he thinks is best for her, and what would make her happy. This is a reason
as to why communication is important. The other person can be pretty oblivious
and just assume things are okay especially if the other person isn’t saying
what one really feels or thinks. In a way, I don’t really know how Kawasumi would
have felt when Suiren is pretty much telling him that he is a failure as a
boyfriend. What he is doing is not enough for her. That must have hurt and all
this time he was totally clueless. It is understandable that pretty much ruined
any mood to kiss. He must have also felt guilty that unknowingly, the things he
had been doing had caused her pain and made her cry just telling them to him.
Though, I don’t really expect Kawasumi to know since his brain is most probably
80-90% karate. I find this situation interesting since it is quite common in couples
wherein one of them has an interest/hobby/goal while the other, only has the person
- always waiting for him/her to pay more attention. Actually, in a Japanese
setting, it is more like a husband who is always working and spending little
time with the housewife who is bored at home and she is always waiting for the
husband. It is pretty much like yes, we love each other, but because of
priorities and stuff, the other doesn’t pay that much time with the other so
how do we compromise. After all that, it does seem cold for Kawasumi not to
comfort her or anything but then, maybe he decided not to when he was the one
who made her cry and fanboys are hounding him. At this point, I guess Kawasumi
had to reflect on things and decide on how much time and attention that he
wants to give Suiren. And, it will depend on Suiren if that certain amount of
time and attention is enough for her. Scans by all★wink汉化组

Wow! The chapter is really short, huh. But I was hoping they'll kiss though.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kat for the summary!
Yup, it is very short.
DeleteThanks for reading ^-^
Thanks a lot for the summary! I hope they don't break up im glad suiren spoke up but poor kawasumi I bet he wasn't expecting this... so much for a kiss...
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading ^-^
DeleteYa..
I'm just shocked that thy didn't kiss at the Ferris Wheel, but I hope they will kiss soon. Thanks for the summary!
ReplyDeleteYa..though..probably after they sort out this problem.
DeleteThanks for reading, Judy ^-^
wow so many unexpected things happened in this chapter
ReplyDeletebut what came as a total surprise to me was that suiren actually broke down. But then again i think it was important and it's nice to have a couple clearing things out by themselves and without having a love rival to spark off jealousy.hope they kiss soon
thnxx alot for the summary
Indeed, ira.
DeleteThanks for reading ^-^
i can't actually guess what will happen in the next chapter but i hope they will resolve their problem soon
ReplyDeletei agree with you that it is better for them to not have a kiss in such a depressing situation
anyway, hope they will have a kiss scene soon
thanks for the summary! <3
Yup, Vanilladada.
DeleteTrue, maybe after they resolve their problem and I guess, it would depend on how fast they resolve it.
Thanks for reading ^-^
Thank you so much for the summary!
ReplyDeletePhew! I feel a lot better knowing why Suiren was crying. THEY NEED TO COMMUNICATE A LOT MORE :'(
Thanks for reading, Michelle ^-^
DeleteIndeed...hopefully from here on, they'll do just that.
Thank you for the fast summary!:) I also agree that Kawasumi is mostly dedicated to karate. I think Atohira as a love rival would be a good solution to this problem. He is Kawasumi's rival in karate and it sure would be interesting if he became a rival in love as well. I find Atohira good looking too and Suiren would look suitable with him. Not that I ship them though. Atohira is the guy Kawasumi never wants to lose to so that's also another good reason to make him his love rival. Forming a love triangle can step up their relationship big time. I want to see a jealous Kawasumi too~~~ Well, that's my opinion pretty much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading, Daisy ^-^
DeleteTrue..though even with that, there is a problem with Suiren having any interest in Atohira. Currently, she only has eyes for Kawasumi. I'm not too sure if it is good to have a love triangle at this point because that would make Atohira a 'girlfriend stealer'.
Kat..your personal comments on this were spot on. It was like the dam broke and a bunch of her negative (although justified) feelings came gushing out at him...who is a guy inexperienced with all this to begin with. It might be a blow to his esteem or it might make him wake up and fight for her for once (as of this point, it was mostly Suiren putting herself out there for any progress). So it'll be interesting to see. I can't even begin to guess what will happen next. I don't think Atohira was ever meant to be a love triangle with these two. I wonder if Atohira will find out about what happened and he will think or say "told ya so" or if he will be prepared with advice for Kawasumi. There is a slight chance he might try to set up Kawasumi with Kohuru (that aggressive girl that follows Atohira around now) since he felt they were a better match. But I hope not.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing...her tears didn't seem at the time to move him very much. Or they really really stunned him and he couldn't react much then. Most guys in manga freak out on what to do, reach out to comfort, or get visibly angry. Lol He just sorta said "sorry" then walked off.
DeleteIndeed..and it is pretty much up to Kawasumi on what to do next for their relationship since Suiren has already done her part.
DeleteTrue..though, maybe help him out a bit since I do think that even if they have some sort of 'rivalry in karate', he can be kind of like a 'brother' to Kawasumi..in his own. ^^;
Hm..not quite sure if he would set her up with Kawasumi and I'm not sure Koharu would..if she has really moved on from Kawasumi or not.
True..it does seem that way. In a way, from what he said, it seems like he was at a loss on how to deal with this or something like that. This is a guy whom I presume to have zero experience with girls and probably doesn't watch tv or read any romance so, he probably doesn't know how to react with a crying girl. I'm just assuming that..or well, he must be cold to just leave like that. I guess we'll know for sure in the next chapter.
This chapter makes me sad - not surprised, but sad. I have to say, right now, I'm pretty irritated with Kawasumi. He says he thought about Suiren a lot, but actually, I feelk he is mostly thinking of himself. For instance, Suiren risked embarrassment and asked him to kiss her - so it's obviously important to her - and he was too busy thinking of people watching, and his own discomfort, to do this small gesture for her. She takes the initiative all the time, and all he does is think about karate. She really does seem to care more for him than he does for her. Maybe they need some time apart for him to get his priorities straight.
ReplyDeleteYa, Monique, Suiren tends to do a lot of initiative here. About the kiss, I think the timing is wrong. He was about to kiss her when the Ferris Wheel stopped. He notice the guys and sit down to wait for the Ferris Wheel to move to the top again. Suiren brought up her grievances and after that, I'm not sure anyone would still be in the mood to kiss. I do not think that the other people watching is a much bigger issue than hearing Suiren's problems with him.
DeleteTrue..and in a way, I think it is somewhat hard. Karate has been his love throughout his life and Suiren is only just recently. It won't be easy to just give up a lot of time for his 'first love' for Suiren. I do agree that he does need to get his priorities straight or rather, at most, balance out his time for Suiren, along with karate. It isn't like she is making him give it up, right?
What is with the black butterfly at the end? Is it supposed to be an eastern-culture kind of omen for the next chapter? There were butterflies referenced in the beginning when she wanted to be able to be free to fly to him whenever she wanted. But this one seems ominous. Hope not!!
ReplyDeleteI think it is an ominous type of thing. The title of the series is Everyday[/day after day] Butterfly so it ties to the butterfly symbolism.
DeleteAm I the only one who thinks Suiren should dump him? I know Kawasumi is inexperienced and all that, but he's too much. He needs to get dumped. Suiren is learning, like he can speak out now, but you know what, Atohira is right. Kawasumi needs someone like Koharu, and Suiren needs a guy like Atohira.
ReplyDeleteThe black butterfly thing is an omen that this couple will break up. Kawasumi needs to experience that, too. Ugh. That guy has been irritating me. Sheesh. He even walks off ahead of her, far enough that her friends have to go to her and ask what the matter is. I mean, seriously.
No, you're not the only one. I had the exact same reaction after reading this chapter. I started getting really irritated with him when he told Suiren not to talk to him during class; again, I feel like he was mostly thinking about his own embarrassment, not Suiren. He is just so clueless and insensitive.
DeleteHehe, is that so, megaworthit.
DeleteHm..possible though I think it would still depend on what Kawasumi does after this. If it is still the same, she might. If he changes, then..
True, it is an omen. Yup..that was a bit 'cold' of him.
I've seen comments about them breaking up. I honestly believe Suiren loves him too much to do it herself...she even worried her honesty during the ride was burdening him. I could be wrong, but she has only had eyes for him and thoughts of him since the beginning. She has worked the hardest for them to be together. So I'm thinking yes, they might just break up..but it would be him doing the breaking up. Not in anger or jerkiness, but actually because I wonder if he will feel like she deserves someone better? She really laid a lot on him at once in the ferris wheel. Understandable, because he needed to hear it. But a guy that doesn't know what to do with a girl might have really lost confidence after that.
ReplyDeleteTrue, she really loves him and did consider the effect to him if she tells him all of this.
DeletePossible, it would be more on Kawasumi and that is a very possible reason for him to want to break up.
Indeed..and, it would really depend on either one if they really want for this relationship to work or else, if it isn't worth it for them, they can just easily give up because of these 'obstacles' in their relationship.
Am I the only one that thinks this is dragging on for so long. It really needs to end after another volume. Nothing much is gonna happen. It's just going to have little misunderstanding and I'm not liking the characters anymore...So after the kiss and after that? What? It's so stale. It doesn't need a lot of drama but it really is so stale. All there is are sparks, little hurt and...nothing more. End it now author! Or it will be a lot boring from now on. I still like it though but To be honest....latest chapters are uninteresting.
ReplyDeleteAdditional: Maybe Aya/Atohira could save the story.
DeleteIs that so.
