Ookami-heika no Hanayome [Chapter 37]

And Yuulin has returned to the harem after the all sort of problems in her home has ended. Her waiting ladies tell her that those are very beautiful. Holding some flowers, Yuulin says that there are a lot of flowers blooming at the harem and she’ll bring some to the government hall [/formerly government affairs building; I changed it so that it would be less typing ^^;] While thinking that this charming life is totally not like the same with commoners, and then, there is the feared coldhearted Wolf King-- Inside the hall, Reishou angrily asks the officials if there is no one with any ideas [/suggestions] so while he is away, they totally became incompetent. While Reishou is scolding the officials inside, Yuulin backs away and thinks that right now, it doesn’t seem to be a good idea to go in. She knows that ‘Wolf King’s acting’ is very frightening and this is the same guy as the puppy king at the city. Yuulin bumps into someone behind her. She turns around to see that it is Prime Minister Kouren.

Holding a huge box of scrolled documents, Kouren asks if His Majesty is inside. She says yes, but right now, it seems that he is rebuking the officials. Walking ahead, Kousen says that actually that is not bad. Yuulin nervously asks if he is going in now and right now, Reishou is very angry. Kouren says that once he enters the hall, His Majesty’s wrath will dissipate. Yuulin thinks that it is a prophecy. Kouren explains that most likely, because the officials’ mood is quite relaxed that they encountered His Majesty’s scolding. He says that time is not long so he bid Yuulin goodbye. Yuulin thinks that Kouren is an important official in the palace though she doesn’t quite know what kind of person he is. Yuulin decides to do her best at work – which is to pretend to be the lovey-dovey wife of the Wolf King. Then, Reishou comes out to the hallway and says that it turns out that she is there. Reishou tells her that it appears that he isn’t free today so would she go back to the harem. She worriedly tells him not to force himself. He smiles and tells her that there’s no need to worry too much, my beloved queen. He turns around and left. Bewildered Yuulin wonders what, is that it?
Before he would always hold her hand and shoulder, saying one thing after another, so what’s up with this? Later on, Jun carries a box of scrolls into the room. Reishou asks about the progress of that issue. Jun says that it is confirmed from the captured official that he is gathering weapons through the merchant. Reishou asks how about, the person behind him. Jun says that according to the report, that person is currently being obstructed. Kokuu is also currently investigating the middleman of the official and the merchant. He tells Jun to report at any time if there is progress. Jun says okay. Then, Reishou whines to end this already. Jun exclaims that he knows but these are all the work he had accumulated while he is away. Reishou starts talking about how interesting life is, in the faraway city that he even manage to startle Kokuu. Jun sympathizes with Kokuu. Reishou laughs about how the city’s Yuulin is so lively and cute. Jun tells him that he’ll repeat this again, she is a temporary worker so if he were to be too fond of her, it will be very troublesome in the future. Looking at the two flowers on a vase [<- from Yuulin], Reishou muses, future, huh.
At the harem, Jun informs glum Yuulin that Reishou won’t be going to the harem today because today he is going to deal with some hellish government affairs with Kouren that even he [Jun] do not want to go near them. Yuulin asks him if Reishou had said something to him about her. Jun says no. Yuulin says that it is nothing, she only felt that there is something a bit different with his acting after they’ve returned. Jun says that he isn’t sure but basically, Reishou is a capricious person so just use her own method and it will be fine. Yuulin says okay. Jun says that the debt isn’t easy to return so while she is steadily making progress, please do not cause trouble to His Majesty again. “..there are quite many substitutes for this ‘temporary bride’ thing.” Yuulin exclaims yes, she’ll put in all her effort as if her life depended on it. Jun says that’s a good answer. Flustered and pouting, Yuulin thinks that Jun was scolding her so if this ‘like His Majesty’ is exposed, she’ll be fired. Slapping her face, she tells herself not to reckless for she is a professional bride.
But then, afterwards, the couple’s acting won’t go smoothly. Reishou is keeping some distance from Yuulin. He is busy at work. He doesn’t go to see her at the harem. And, even if she wants to talk with him, she couldn’t because there is no leisure time after they came back from the vacation. And days like this continue on and on. Soon, Yuulin is checking some scrolls and wondering if this had happened before. She sighs and wonders if she did something that Reishou won’t tell her. Carrying a box of scrolls again, Kouren asks Yuulin what’s up for she is sighing in the library. Yuulin smiles and says that it is nothing. She is shock when Kouren asks if it is about Reishou and isn’t she going to the government hall. She says that there is no need, for it appears that he is busy so if she were to interrupt.. Looking up the sky, Kouren says that today, the weather won’t be bad at all. Yuulin is puzzled. Kouren tells her that it is not bad to invite the king to go outside now. “...go to the courtyard’s pavilion and enjoy the flowers [/flower viewing].”
Thinking that it is a prophecy, Yuulin protests that the king has work. Kouren says that after an appropriate rest, his work will become more efficient. He assures her that the king will definitely do it. At the government hall, flustered Yuulin had asked Reishou about it and asks if it is okay. He smiles and says that there is nothing more important than her invitation, so it is impossible for him to refuse. Yuulin is amazed that after saying those words, he did went out with her but then, there is always that distant feeling. Reishou is walking ahead of Yuulin. Yuulin feels that she had failed. She wanted to ask ‘why’ but she is afraid. Suddenly, it starts raining and it became a downpour. Yuulin is freaking out over why this happened when it is a clear day a while ago -> even confirmed by Kouren. To her surprise, Reishou carries her [ala princess style]. He tells her that he is going to run so hold tight. Then, he carries her into the pavilion. As he puts her down, blushing Yuulin thinks that this is bad for her heart. Reishou asks if she is okay and she says yes. He tells her that they wait there until the rain stops.
Yuulin starts to apologize for this happened because she invited him out for a stroll. She is worried that she is causing him trouble. Reishou says that this isn’t something she ought to be apologizing for. Yuulin notices that he is being distant again. She can no longer hold it in that she shouts if she is going to be fired. This made Reishou go into shock. Trying to calm her down, he asks why it would become like that. Yuulin says that it is because upon returning back, he always felt quite distance. In tears, she asks if carelessly did something out of bounds, she even caused trouble regarding her family affairs and she attracted the rain to come. Holding her shoulders, Reishou shouts for her to calm down. He tells her that she didn’t do anything wrong, it is only..at the city, he made things difficult for her, that in the end, she fainted due to a fever. Afterwards, he reflected upon this a bit and thinks that what she said it right..and she is thinking too much about him hating her.
Letting her go, he says that more or less, he knows that kind of feeling. He recalls when Yuulin asked him if he is seriously thinking of her when he said that. Reishou says that the ‘Wolf King’ made people terrified of him but he never thought that it made her worry so much about she’ll be fired. Flustered Yuulin says that she’ll be troubled..if he spoils her. She can do what she wants to do but..if he were to hate her, then.. This moved Reishou. He holds her chin and says, “Yuu..” Yuulin looks surprised then quickly goes to the side to shout to him that the rain had stopped. She urges him to look at that side, the rain made the flowers all shiny and they are very beautiful. Reishou lamely says that it is beautiful. Yuulin excitedly exclaims yes, and in a while, they can view the flowers. So like that, the acting married couple’s intertwined way of thinking is resolved or perhaps became deeper. Later on, Yuulin sees Kouren holding even more scrolls in a box. Kouren thanks her for the ‘nice weather’ before. Yuulin just says yes. She thinks that he can really predict things. So, the queen’s evaluation of Kouren stealthily goes up. At the office, Reishou asks what he is to do for his bride is too cute. Carrying in a box of scrolls, Jun says that he only lost his bearings momentarily.
Comment: Hehe, apparently, sudden change of behavior without any prior notice can cause a misunderstanding in couples. ^^; In a way, it will always make the other one worry and wonder what had happened. Of course, in Yuulin’s case, she tends to think that she is the one who did something wrong. It doesn’t help that Jun kept on hinting threats about firing her. It seems that Jun is also worried about Yuulin’s ‘bad’ influence on Reishou. Actually just coming from the vacation, it doesn’t help that he would think that Yuulin caused Reishou to slack off and caused the piling up of the work that they have to do. Anyway, it seems that Kouren is on her side. He seems to be quite wise and everything that I think it makes Yuulin think that he can predict things. Hehe, maybe he can indeed predict things? ^^ So, that misunderstanding is resolved. I’m not sure if Yuulin knew what Reishou is attempting to do or she is just distracted by the pretty flowers. Nevertheless, in the end, as usual, too bad it is interrupted. Hehe, and, Reishou is inspired to work again ^^ Scans by BaRaMei私人化.

  1. Geeze! If people hadn't voted "disappointing" when the chapter wasn't even up yet, there would be a better overall opinion of this chapter =.=
